Florida Woman Arrested in Burger King Bathroom With 7 Syringes Hidden in Vagina
A Florida woman is facing charges after deputies say she hid several syringes inside her vagina in Pinellas County, Tampa-area television station WFLA reported Monday.
The suspect, 35-year-old Jaymie Wescott, was allegedly snarling and yelling at staff, and refusing to leave the Burger King bathroom, according to the arrest report.
Wescott allowed deputies to search her but reportedly pulled away when they searched her groin area. That’s where they allegedly “felt something hard,” WFLA reported.
Deputies brought Wescott to jail where she reportedly removed seven syringes from her vagina. The arrest report said the syringes contained a clear substance but did not specify what the substance was.
Wescott was booked on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia, introducing or possessing contraband in a county detention facility and resisting an officer without violence.
She was released from jail after bond was posted, inmate records showed on Tuesday.

Toddler dies after sex assault in Virginia motel room
RICHMOND, Va. — A toddler died Friday from injuries caused by a brutal sex assault at a Virginia motel, according to police.
The mother of 17-month-old Nariah Brown, Aija Brown, told WTVR she left her daughter in a South Richmond motel room with a person she trusted.
Police confirmed a person of interest in the case has been jailed in the alleged May 8 attack. He was arrested by U.S. Marshals on a probation violation, WTVR reports.
“I was gonna’ always do anything to protect her,” Brown said. “She never did anything to anybody. She wasn’t a mean baby. She was loving. She would go up to strangers hug them and smile.”
Nariah was born prematurely, and, for three months, she fought to live.
Aija Brown said she never missed a day at the hospital, and pledged to her baby girl that she would never leave her side. A promise she said she kept until the very end.
“I was giving my baby CPR in the back seat,” Brown said. “Because I thought she wasn’t breathing.”
Nariah had a radiant personality. A little girl who loved Disney Jr.
“She loved puppy dog pals and loved dogs,” said Brown. “She’d say ‘woof-woof.’ She was just really learning to talk.”
Nariah was Brown’s only child.
She said she was emotionally distraught and will lean on her family for support and love to help her carry on without her smiling and happy baby girl.
While no one has been charged yet in Nariah’s death, charges are expected to be announced soon, according to WTVR sources. The cause and manner of Nariah’s death has not yet been released.
There will be a vigil for Nariah Tuesday night; a GoFundMe has been set up to help the family pay for funeral services.

Arizona woman admits to suffocating 79-year-old mother with pillow
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KNXV) — A Valley woman is facing first-degree murder charges after she admitted to murdering her mother Monday afternoon.
According to Sgt. Ben Hoster, dispatchers received a call around 2 p.m. from someone at an apartment complex near 64th Street and Osborn Road saying their neighbor asked them to call 911.
Scottsdale police say Holly Brennan, 46, later told the dispatcher that she had killed her mother, Sharon Simmons. Officers responded and found Simmons deceased in a bed.
Brennan told police she suffocated her mother. Investigators did not immediately know when Simmons had died.
Mike Bennett said he saw Brennan confess to police outside her apartment. “She admitted that she smothered her mother with a pillow,” Bennett said.
“Responding officers then went inside the apartment and located an elderly female deceased on the bed,” Sgt. Hoster said.
“Then they put the cuffs on her and sat her down on the sidewalk,” Bennett said. “I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It took a couple seconds for it to sink in, and I’m like, ‘Wow she just admitted that!’”
Police say Brennan and Simmons live together and have a history of domestic violence.
Neighbors told KNXV Simmons was beloved in the complex.
“She was a very nice lady. Everybody in the apartment complex just loved her,” Ross Blaisdell said.
“She was a sweet lady. The daughter was a little sketchy,” Bennett said.
Brennan was taken into custody and questioned by detectives, Hoster said.

Man pulled over with dead wife in passenger seat
A 70-year-old man told police his wife died on a road trip, so he strapped her in their car’s passenger seat and continued on.
The explanation came Monday as Rodney Puckett of Oklahoma was pulled over for a traffic violation along Interstate 10 in Arizona, reports the Arizona Republic.
When Eloy Detective Adam Edmonds noticed a woman who appeared to be dead buckled into the car, Puckett reportedly claimed his wife, 74-year-old Linda Puckett, had died at a hotel in Texas before he moved her body to the car and kept driving.
Yet KNXV reports that the couple, married in 2011, were in the midst of divorcing. Linda Puckett filed for divorce Feb. 8, two days after she was granted a protective order against her husband, who was booked on a count of abandonment or concealment of a body.
Rodney Puckett is known to have bipolar disorder, according to a Silver Alert issued for him in April. The alert was canceled after he was discovered in a Kansas jail on a complaint of eluding officers, per KFOR.
Authorities are now working to determine how and when Linda died.

Long Island veteran and struggling single mom gets surprised with new car
ROCKY POINT, Long Island – One local veteran and single mom of two is getting some much-needed relief.
Ludmilla Lamothe, who has been struggling without a vehicle, was surprised with a newly refurbished car by Caliber Collision and GEICO on Tuesday.
The assistance for the local U.S. Army veteran comes after she’s been without reliable transportation for a year. She’s been having a hard time getting back on her feet after her vehicle was totaled in an accident last year.
The service member said that she has been spending lots of money commuting with ride-share apps across the city such as Uber.
Lamothe has been juggling daily tasks like trying to take her two daughters to school, going to therapy and doing her coursework as she pursues a degree in social work.
She shared her excitement for the gift with PIX11 News. “I’m so happy… I don’t have to struggle anymore,” Lamothe said.
Lamothe was nominated for the Recycled Rides gift by local nonprofit Driving 4 Change and Soldiers’ Angels, a nonprofit organization that supports military service members and veterans.
“It’s going to have a huge impact on her life and her family’s life,” Vartan Jerian, Director of Caliber Collision said.
The donation is part of the “Recycled Rides” program that has donated nearly 300 cars over the past six years. The special moment commemorates Military Appreciation Month, which is celebrated every year during the month of May.

Video shows men allegedly forcing puppy to drink beer from keg at frat party
(Meredith) — A New York university suspended a fraternity over a video that purportedly showed two young men forcing a puppy to drink beer from a keg.
The men, who are members of Alpha Epsilon Pi, can be seen in the video holding a 10-month-old spaniel upside down and squirting beer into the pup’s mouth, News 12 Long Island reported.
Someone in the background can be heard yelling, “Let’s go!”
The five-second video was recorded Saturday at an off-campus fraternity house in Hempstead, New York, according to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), which is investigating the incident.
Hofstra University called the behavior “unacceptable.”
“In accordance with University policy, the chapter has been placed on interim suspension pending an investigation,” a university spokeswoman said in a statement.
Nassau County SPCA investigators also called the footage disturbing and cruel.
“That dog had no choice. It didn’t say, ‘Hey, I want a beer, and I want it poured down my throat,'” said Gary Rogers, of the Nassau County SPCA. “So, it’s wrong on every level.”
The dog’s owner is a 21-year-old Hofstra senior and a fraternity member.
Rogers said the dog is now in the possession of the Nassau County SPCA and is doing fine.

Mr. Ratburn, from PBS show Arthur, gets married in season 22 premiere
Article via CBSNEWS
To the surprise of many, the 22nd season of “Arthur” just premiered on PBS – yes, that lovable aardvark and his friends are still on the air. But the classic children’s show is very much keeping up with the times. The premiere episode revealed Arthur’s teacher, Mr. Ratburn, is gay.

Arthur and his friends overhear Mr. Ratburn and an uptight woman, voiced by Jane Lynch, discussing his wedding. They believe the woman is his bride and devise a plan to stop the wedding.
PBS/”Arthur”
In “Mr. Ratburn and the Special Someone,” the beloved teacher of Arthur and his friends gets married to a man. It’s not the first time the children’s show has included LGBTQ storylines although the last one occurred in 2005, TV Line reports. In the episode “Postcards from Buster,” Arthur’s best friend met children with two moms while on a trip to Vermont.
The word “lesbian” was not used in the episode, nor was the word “gay” used in the episode about Mr. Ratburn. However, the show received praise for teaching children that men can marry men and women can marry women.
In the season 22 premiere, the students see Mr. Ratburn speaking to an uptight lady, voiced by guest star Jane Lynch. They fear she is the person Mr. Ratburn is going to marry, and they devise a plan to stop the wedding and prevent a life of misery for their teacher.

Arthur and his friends show up to the wedding ready to object to it – only to see Mr. Ratburn walk down the aisle with his groom.
PBS/”Arthur”
But the kids chicken out when they get to the wedding and don’t stand up to object to the marriage. Then, they learn the uptight woman is just Mr. Ratburn’s sister, who is officiating the nuptials. When Mr. Ratburn walks down the aisle, he is arm in arm with a man.
The third-graders are happy for their newlywed teacher, but there’s one thing they are mortified by: his dancing.
People took to Twitter when they learned about the episode – but many were sharing their disbelief that “Arthur” was still on the air. Some Twitter users wrote that they hope other TV shows and movies include LGBTQ characters and storylines.

In 2015, same-sex marriage became legal across the country. So, regardless of where Arthur’s fictional Elwood City actually is, Mr. Ratburn’s marriage would be recognized.
Ariana Grande Is Being Sued For Posting Paparazzi Photos Of Herself To Instagram
Article via BuzzfeedNews
The lawsuit is part of a growing trend by paparazzi to sue celebrities who share their photos to social media.
A paparazzi photographer filed a lawsuit against Ariana Grande Monday, alleging the singer violated copyright law by posting photos he took of her to her Instagram account.
Robert Barbera, a New York–based photographer, photographed Grande last year as she exited a building carrying a bag that read “Sweetener.”
Two of the photos were then shared on Grande’s official Instagram account Aug. 17, the day Grande released her album Sweetener. “Happy sweetener day,” she wrote in the caption.
The Instagram post, which remains up on Grande’s page, has received more than 3,390,000 likes. A screenshot of the photo was also filed as evidence in court:

“[Grande] infringed [Barbera’s] copyright in the Photographs by reproducing and publicly displaying the Photographs on the Instagram Page,” he wrote in his lawsuit. “[Grande] is not, and has never been, licensed or otherwise authorized to reproduce, publically display, distribute and/or use the Photographs.”
Barbera is suing for either the profits Grande earned from the photos or $25,000 for each pic.
Representatives for Grande didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from BuzzFeed News.
Grande is not the first celeb to land in legal hot water for posting a paparazzi photo.
BuzzFeed News reported in December that photo agencies have been targeting stars who use their pics — without credit — on their social channels.
In January, supermodel Gigi Hadid was sued by a photo agency for posting a pic it had taken of her to her 44 million Instagram followers.
Kim Kardashian West, Jennifer Lopez, 50 Cent, and Jessica Simpson have also been impacted.
Paparazzi photographers have seen their profits sink since the advent of social media, which has allowed celebrities to take control of their image and share their own photos with fans.

Funimation Sued By Kojcast For Patent Infringment
Disclaimer: The views and opinions expressed written in the bolded paragraph is the opinions and views of the blogger Tawny Hembry and NOT of lovelyti, Lovelyti LLC. and or her Bloggers.
Two lawsuits in the making Funimation is being sued by DBZ Broly voice over actor Vic Mignogna over false allegations of sexual misconduct. By the time Vic and Kojcast gets through with them there will be no FUNimation. I say FIRE Monica Reil, Monica Marchi…. Funimation must like being sued.
Kojicast LLC has sued Funimation Productions over their FunimationNow streaming service being a patent infringement on their ‘683 Patent. The lawsuit was filed back on April 24th, 2019, but it hasn’t been wildly spread around the net until some Twitter users caught wind of it.
Super Girl tweeted out the PDF on May 12th, 2019 for the suit from Kojicast against Funimation set in the eastern district of Texas.

In the suit it alleges that Funimation used the ‘683 Patent in their FunimationNow streaming technology that allows users to stream Funimation content from their mobile device and then pick up and resume that content on additional devices, such as home computers or smart TVs.
This feature was advertised in the FunimationNow ad that’s currently available on YouTube. It was originally published back on March 9th, 2019.
It’s only 22 seconds long, and the relevant part is at the 16 second mark, where it advertises episode progress syncing across devices, so you can play or watch the content across multiple devices.
The lawsuit alleges that Funimation is using the ‘683 Patent that was prioritized by the USPTO back in 2012. The patent described technologies that allow users to stream content and – without restarting the content or break from the stream position – pick-up and resume where they left off on another device.
“Defendant has marketed its video delivery platform under its brand name “FunimationNow,” as well as possibly other brand names. The following is a discussion of the accused FunimationNow system. The FunimationNow system has apps for mobile communication devices, including an app for Apple IOS operating systems and an app for Android operating systems. The FunimationNow app supports casting features, enabling a user to watch a selected media content item on the mobile communication device or “casted” to one or more media playback devices.”
The patent infringement relief asks for Funimation to pay damages that Kojicast suffered as a result of the ‘683 Patent infringement. It also asks to have Funimation pay for Kojicast’s costs, attorney fees, expenses, and interests, in addition to “further relief” as deemed just by the courts. They also want a trial by jury.
This bit of news is already catching fire in the #IstandWithVic communities because this is yet another lawsuit that Funimation will have to battle in court, in addition to having to deal with the $1 million suit that voice actor Vic Mignogna filed against them for tortious interference when he was fired earlier in the year for what appeared to be spurious allegations of misconduct.
The animation distributor is now fighting two legal battles and neither seem to look like they appear to favor Funimation.
[Update:] Take note that there are some reports that Kojicast is a patent troll. Back on December 10th, 2018 TechRights reported that there were firms offering $1,000 to “intercept” Kojicast from utilizing a “weaponized patent”. Whether or not this will play any part in how the Funimation case unfolds remains to be seen.
