YouTube star Jake Paul claims he wasn’t looting after video shows him at damaged Arizona mall
YouTube star Jake Paul denies that he “engaged in any looting or vandalism” despite being seen with friends on video at an Arizona mall as people around them appeared to be damaging property Saturday night. Demonstrators all over the country continued to protest the death of George Floyd over the weekend, calling for an end to police violence. Floyd died at police hands in Minneapolis early last week.
“To be absolutely clear, neither I nor anyone in our group was engaged in any looting or vandalism,” the influencer said in a statement posted on Twitter Sunday. The 23-year-old claimed he and his friends “spent the day doing our part to peacefully protest” Floyd’s death and claimed they were tear-gassed for filming the protests.
Floyd died after a police officer held his knee on Floyd’s neck for several minutes as he moaned that he couldn’t breathe. A viral video of the incident sparked the ongoing protests, some of which have turned violent, all over the nation.
“We filmed everything we saw in an effort to share our experience and bring more attention to the anger felt in every neighborhood we traveled through; we were strictly documenting, not engaging,” added Paul. “I do not condone violence, looting or breaking the law.”
However, Paul added in the statement that he understands the “anger and frustration that led to the destruction we witnessed.”

Multiple videos showing Paul and his group at the Arizona mall surfaced on Twitter late Saturday and into Sunday morning. New York Times Reporter Taylor Lorenz was one of many who shared the viral videos on the platform. She claimed the footage showed Paul and his friends “‘looting’ and trashing property in a Scottsdale mall last night amid protests.”
Much of the footage appears to be Instagram stories posted by Paul’s photographer/videographer, Andrew Blue. Blue also put out a statement on his Instagram stories denying their party took part in the alleged looting or vandalism.
The viral videos appear to show Paul walking around both the outside and the inside of the mall wearing a white face mask with a red stripe. Multiple people are seen on camera damaging the property, walking into stores and running around.
The footage doesn’t clearly show if Paul did or didn’t participate in the alleged vandalism or take anything from the businesses.
Paul is no stranger to public incidents and viral moments. He recently admitted his brief supposed marriage to YouTube star Tana Mongeau last year was fake, after speculation the nuptials were a publicity stunt, according to Entertainment Tonight. Earlier this year, Paul alleged he and former One Direction member Zayn Malik, had a tense interaction in Las Vegas. Malik’s model girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, later called Paul out on Twitter for his comments, reports ET.

Youtube Finally Acts On Logan Paul
The Paul Brothers have been criticized time and time again. This year, Logan Paul ushered in the new year by posting a video of him in the Aokigahara Forest (the Suicide Forest) filming a dead body, watch Lovelyti’s video on that here. Logan Paul’s video stayed up for about two days and even landed on the trending page, after major backlash he finally decided to delete it.
Now YouTube announced it was dropping Paul from the YouTube Red comedy, “Foursome.”
The smoking gun though came from Google Preferred (the top 5% of most-viewed YouTube content) which says it will no longer aggregate Paul’s multimillion-subscriber channels for advertisers. That basically means he’s cut off from his main source of YouTube income.
Despite all of this, Paul’s father says his son will be returning to vlogging soon.

The Paul Brothers Being Racist, #JustAnotherSunday :)
The Paul Bros are the gift from Ohio that keeps giving (us content to talk about). The brothers are no strangers to controversy, the first wave of which began with the younger brother, Jake Paul (former Disney channel star), facing criticism for being a public nuisance in his neighborhood and allegedly abusing his live in employees (especially his on again off again girlfriend) part of Team10.
Now footage has been released to TMZ in which Jake is dropping N-bombs during a freestyle rap during Coachella last year. Jake freestyled over Rae Sremmurd‘s “Throw Sum Mo” beat, and early in the video, around 7 seconds, he raps something about … “little ass n***as.”
Later he says, “I whip it like my n***a Richie Vetter, he make the pu**y so wet it gets wetter.”
“A source connected to Jake tells us the 20-year-old isn’t racist” (TMZ). TMZ’s Jake source says the actor and YouTube sensation has matured a lot since this video was shot 8 months ago. Okay.
Jake Paul was known to be the annoying younger brother, and Logan Paul was assumed to be older, more mature, with more sense in the head. Unfortunately, that is not the case as these brothers are two branches off the same tree.
Logan received Youtube wide backlash where he proceeded to film in the Aokigahara forest (also known as the Suicide Forest, where many venture into to commit suicide). While in the Forest, Paul wore a hideous green hat, that provided an offensive contrast to the seriousness of the Forest’s nature. This hat may also be representative of his childish mindset and how he is so far removed from reality, especially so when he filmed someone who committed suicide. Logan posted the video to Youtube and set the body as a Youtube thumbnail.
After the backlash Logan posted an apology to Twitter, a narcissistic non-apology no less.
After even more backlash Logan posted a more somber apology video to Youtube, which went #1 on the trending page, watch that here.
Logan eventually concluded that his social media fame has led him to blur the line between the Internet and the real world, and so he will be taking a break from the Internet. We hope that he will take his brother with him, and they both come back with more wholesome content.
It should be noted that Logan Paul has a history of racism, especially against Asian people, watch Keren Joy’s video here.
