Ayesha Curry claps back at baby body-shamer suggesting she put her infant on a diet
Article via MercuryNews
Body shaming new mothers is bad enough but targeting their babies is just plain out of bounds.
Of course Ayesha Curry is no stranger to social media scorn. The 30-year-old celeb mom has taken her share of punches on Instagram, certainly. But when trolls vented their spleen on her 10-month-old infant, Canon, Curry clapped back. Hard.
It all started when she posted a photo of the smiling Curry clan celebrating her husband Steph Curry’s NBA Western Conference finals victory. That’s when the haters started in.
First one Instagram commenter asked if she was pregnant. Curry didn’t skip a beat, retorting: “Absolutely not LOL. My 30 lb son is just breaking my back in every photo.”
Immediately, people started to weigh in on the size of the youngest Curry baby. “30lbs at 10 months??” one comment snarked. “Sheesh.”
Someone else went further, suggesting Ayesha should put her infant son on a diet. “Maybe portion-control his food a bit,” the commenter wrote, according to Yahoo.
The comment has since been deleted — but not before Ayesha had a chance to fire back at the baby body-shamer.
“Excuse you?” she fired back. “No. Just no.”

Stephen Curry Named Executive Producer on Charleston Church Shooting Documentary
Stephen Curry‘s company, Unanimous Media, has received a producer credit in a documentary about the 2015 church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina.
Per Variety‘s Todd Spangler, the Golden State Warriors star is an executive producer on the project, entitled Emanuel.
Curry launched Unanimous Media in April and agreed to a multiyear deal with Sony Pictures to produce content for television and movies.
Emanuel chronicles the events of June 17, 2015, when Dylann Roof shot and killed nine people at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. The movie premiered earlier this year at the Bentonville Film Festival and will screen later this month at the DOC NYC festival.

Steph Curry Raises $20,000 For Family Of Nia Wilson During Basketball Showcase And Tribute To The Slain Teen
Last month Nia Wilson was brutally stabbed on the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). On Tuesday, August 7, Curry used his SC30 Select Showcase as a platform to bring awareness and offer financial assistance to the victim’s family.
According to KPIX, the basketball event became more than a game as Curry took to center court to pay homage to Wilson.
“I’m sure everybody is aware of the tragedy, the loss we’ve had in the Bay Area recently, the life of Nia Wilson,” he said.
On July 22, 27-year-old John Lee Cowell attacked both Wilson and her 26-year-old sister, Letifah, at the BART station. The two young ladies were stabbed in their necks, which led to Letifah being hospitalized.
While no amount of money or time could heal the scar left by Wilson’s absence, the NBA star offered a gesture of kindness and light to the family. With both Nia’s father, Ansar Mohammed, and Letifah sitting courtside, Curry raised over $20,000 in donations for the family via his Facebook livestream.
“Everybody who’s watching at home on the livestream on Facebook, please hit the ‘Donate’ button,” Curry asked fans. “Everything that is donated today, all the proceeds, 100 percent, will go to Nia Wilson’s family.”
Curry’s gesture seemed to send a message to not only the family but to Golden State fans, as well. Citizens praised the “Splash Bro” for his work.
“People need to know that she mattered. She really mattered,” Warriors fan LaWanda Travis told KPIX. “And for him to do this, I love him even more.”

Draymond Green’s visit to Israel draws criticism: ‘Horribly offensive’
If you do not follow sports I should tell you Draymond Green is on the same basketball team as Stephen Curry and was ‘memed’ after his hilarious reactions to Fergie’s horrific rendition of the national anthem.
Warriors All-Star Draymond Green, who along with his teammates has expressed disinterest in visiting the White House, is receiving criticism for his trip to Israel where he met President Reuven Rivlin and fired guns at a border police training center.
Part of Green’s trip was sponsored by the Friends of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces).
“You got played,” Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King chided Green, according to the JTA. “Flashing a toothy grin w/ a sniper rifle in Israel on a trip (organized) by Friends of the IDF is so horribly offensive. They’ve recently slaughtered unarmed Palestinians w/ those rifles.”
Dave Zirin, sports editor of The Nation, piled on.
“Why reject Donald Trump and accept the invitation of Rivlin?” Zirin wrote. “It is, frankly, shocking to see Draymond Green smiling and shooting guns in their company. These counterterrorism border police units are part of a military that shot and killed Palestinians who were protesting at the border in May, less than two months ago.”
“I’m confident that if he had been briefed, he would not have gone,” Temple University professor Marc Lamont Hill told the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Maybe, maybe not. Green is, among other things, intellectually curious. According to the Jerusalem Post, Green visited “several historical sites around the country.” He also played basketball at a sports center donated by FIDF supporters from Michigan, according to CBN.
