Man robbed by woman after refusing to pay for sex
A man was allegedly robbed at knifepoint in the Bronx by a woman he met on a dating app after he refused to pay for sex, police and sources said Tuesday.
The 60-year-old man had been messaging with the woman on an app called Skout, and the pair met around 3 a.m. Monday at an apartment on Holland Avenue near Pelham Parkway South, police and law enforcement sources said.
She allegedly performed sexual services on him, and demanded to be paid, police said. But the man refused — later telling cops he’d never agreed to pay — and she allegedly took out a knife and stole $100 from him, along with a Bluetooth device and three cellphones, the sources added.
She then allegedly forced the victim to withdraw money from an ATM inside a nearby deli but was scared off when the man told a store clerk to call 911.
The man was uninjured. His date is still in the wind.

2 armed men arrested for robbing bar while officers held retirement party inside
Two Gwynn Oak men allegedly robbed the wrong bar on Tuesday night.
Baltimore County police say Joseph McInnis, 20, and Tyree McCoy, 22, walked up to Monaghan’s Pub on in Woodlawn on Tuesday at around 5:30 p.m. for a stickup. Corp. Sean Vinson, a spokesman for the department, said they went inside, went to the takeout window, got behind the counter and held up a female employee at gunpoint.
It was the wrong time and place. Inside, off-duty officers had gathered to celebrate the retirement of a sergeant who’d been with the department for 29 years.
McInnis and McCoy made off with some money from the register, but another employee saw the alleged robbery take place and told the cops gathered in the bar. They ran outside and gave chase.
“One of the officers never lost sight of the two suspects and was able to chase them down with the assistance of other officers,” Vinson said.
In hindsight, Monaghan’s Pub may have been a bad target, considering it’s located roughly two blocks from the police department’s Woodlawn precinct on Windsor Mill Road.
The bar’s owner wasn’t immediately available to comment Thursday.
Booking photos (above) show McCoy’s face bruised up with his eye swollen shut, and McInnis with cuts near both of his eyes. Vinson said the police report on file didn’t mention any injuries sustained during their arrests.
McCoy and McInnis face charges of robbery, armed robbery, theft of less than $1,000 and first-degree assault. Neither have attorneys listed in court records. Both are due to appear in court on Sept. 29.
Texas Mother Fatally Shot While Trying to Raise Money to Buy 6-Year-Old Daughter a Christmas Gift
A Texas woman who was trying to sell jewelry online in order to make enough money to buy her 6-year-old daughter a gift for Christmas was shot and killed after arranging to meet a potential buyer last week, according to police and reports.
April Vancleave, 33, had agreed to meet the buyer at the Target located in the area of South Cooper Street and Arbrook Boulevard in Arlington last Thursday, the Arlington Police Department said in a news release.
Wanting to remain cautious, she also took her husband along, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
But when the couple went to meet the buyer at the Starbucks inside the store, that person wasn’t there, the newspaper reported. The pair then drove back to their apartment complex, where the husband dropped the wife off and headed to work.
While in the parking lot of the complex, Vancleave was confronted by someone and shot, according to the police news release. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.
Arlington police Lt. Chris Cook told the Star-Telegram that investigators believe the potential buyers followed the couple to their apartment complex, then likely tried to rob Vancleave after she was dropped off in the parking lot.
Vancleave had been trying to sell the jewelry in order to raise enough money to buy her daughter, Lilly, a Christmas gift, her relatives told the newspaper.
No arrests have been made, but police released surveillance video from the Target store showing two people they describe as “persons of interest.”
In the footage, which was posted to the department’s Facebook page, the two men are seen walking out of the retailer and then driving off in a red pickup truck.
Anyone who recognizes the two men, or has information about the case, is asked to contact Arlington police at 817-459-5735. Those wishing to remain anonymous can leave a tip by calling the local Crime Stoppers hotline at 817-469-8477.
A $10,000 reward has been offered by Oaks Farms Dairy for anyone who has information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the homicide, the release stated.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has been established to pay for Vancleave’s funeral.
Did a Facebook Photo Showing Large Amounts of Cash Lead to a Philadelphia Man’s Death?
“I misplaced $60,000,” 50-year-old Tony Harris wrote on his Facebook page Oct. 5, with a photo of his wife, Amber Crane, holding four large stacks of money. “I hope my wife didn’t go shopping with it.”

Club promoter suspected to be the ‘mastermind’ in Chris Brown robbery
Los Angeles – Police believe a nightclub promoter was the “mastermind” of a raid on Chris Brown’s home.
The 26-year-old singer’s San Fernando Valley house was allegedly broken into early Wednesday morning, and officers think the break-in was carried out by someone who knew the Loyal hitmaker had just received $50k in cash for a club gig.
According to TMZ, the robbers demanded Chris’ aunt – who was in the house at the time – show them where his safe was and let slip that they knew the sum of money was there.
It is said to be unusual for the star, who was not at home during the time of the robbery, to keep such a large amount of cash lying around, and only a handful of people knew about the cash, so police believe a promoter is a likely suspect.
It was previously revealed that the culprits – who held Chris’ aunt at gunpoint before locking her in a closet – were known to the Yeah 3x hitmaker and were aware he was at Hollywood nightspot Argyle at the time they struck.
The identity of the burglars is unknown as they were wearing ski masks at the time.
Meanwhile, Chris’ former partner now fears their baby is no longer safe at his house following the incident.
Nia Guzman, who has 13-month-old daughter Royalty with the Forever hitmaker, is reportedly deeply concerned about his ability to protect her.
A source close to the brunette beauty – who had a fling with the singer while he was still dating Karrueche Tran – claims she believes many of Chris’ friends are in gangs and the robbery suggests they have now turned on him.
