Rose McGowan tells Snoop Dogg to ‘grow the f–k up’ amid Kobe Bryant outrage
Rose McGowan on Sunday called Kobe Bryant a “hero” for apologizing to his sex accuser — but told Snoop Dogg to “grow the f–k up” and stop attacking anyone who raises the late hoop star’s troubled past.
“You want to know why Kobe Bryant is a hero? He apologized to a hurt young woman,” the #MeToo pioneer wrote on Twitter early Sunday, referring to Bryant’s mea culpa to a 19-year-old hotel employee who accused him of rape in 2003.
While praising Bryant, 41, McGowan also sent a message to Snoop Dogg to “stop terrorizing” CBS’ Gayle King following his wild attack on her for bringing up Bryant’s past during an interview.
“Truth hurts. Death hurts. Grow the f–k up. Kobe stopped hurting women, so can you,” McGowan wrote.
The “Charmed” star also mentioned Washington Post reporter Felicia Sonmez — who received death threats and was suspended after linking to stories about Bryant’s case — as one of those unfairly attacked. Oprah Winfrey also claimed that Snoop’s viral interview clip led to King receiving death threats.
McGowan — whose accusations against Harvey Weinstein helped form the #MeToo movement — previously mentioned the “complex” nature of grieving someone with troubling accusations against them.
“Put an * next to a hero’s name if they have sexual assault in their past,” she wrote last week, saying the symbol, “says investigate further.”
“It’s okay to hold space for the dead & their victims simultaneously. It’s complex,” she wrote.

Man freed from prison for rape after 30 years faces new rape charge
A Massachusetts man who spent roughly 30 years in prison for rape before being freed in 2016 is facing new charges in connection with a January sex assault, authorities said.
George Perrot, 51, was arraigned Monday in Salem Superior Court on charges of rape, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and open and gross lewdness after police said he was found unconscious on top of a partially naked woman who was also unconscious.
Perrot allegedly raped the woman orally and charged at a police officer when the cop woke him up, Essex County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Carrie Kimball said.
The victim, who was revived after being given Narcan, said Perrot offered her drugs during the Jan. 4 encounter in Lawrence but did not remember anything after that. She was not dating Perrot and did not consent to sexual contact, Kimball said.
Perrot, who has been held without bail since his arrest, was later arraigned in Lawrence District Court. A judge on Monday ordered him to remain held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for June 10. He has pleaded not guilty, Kimball said.
Perrot, according to the Boston Globe, became a “symbol for criminal justice reform advocates” after his release in 2016 based on flawed testimony about microscopic hair evidence. He was convicted in 1987 and sentenced to life in prison for raping a 78-year-old woman in her Springfield home two years earlier when he was 17.
Perrot was then granted a new trial in 1990 after a court ruled that prosecutors improperly presented evidence during his trial, The Republican reported. Two years later, he was convicted a second time and was again sentenced to life in prison.
But he was later released on bail in 2016 after the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that testimony during that second trial “exceeded the foundational science” of hair analysis, according to The Republican. The guilty verdict was overturned and a third trial was ordered, but prosecutors decided against it since the victim had died and other factors.
Perrot’s release at the time was lauded by criminal justice reform advocates, including those at The Innocence Project and the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism and Brandeis University, according to The Republican.
In the latest accusation against Perrot, officers suspect he gave the victim heroin and asked her to snort it. The woman knew Perrot, but was not romantically involved with him, the Globe reports.
Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni, meanwhile, said in a statement that prosecutors still maintain that Perrot was guilty as originally charged in the 1985 rape.
“We have and do continue to maintain the position that George Perrot committed several heinous offenses of elderly female victims,” the statement read. “Regrettably, there is another victim who has now allegedly suffered at his hands three decades later.”
A message seeking comment from Perrot’s attorney, Tom Torrisi, was not immediately returned.

Ohio man raped now-pregnant 11-year-old girl
An Ohio man is accused of having sex with an 11-year-old girl — who is now pregnant, according to local reports.
Juan Leon-Gomez, 26, was arrested early Wednesday when the child was discovered hidden at his Massillon home, about 60 miles south of Cleveland, the Canton Repository reported.
The suspect’s roommate allowed police to search their home after the girl’s mother filed a missing person report, police said. When cops entered the residence, the 11-year-old was found in an upstairs bedroom closet.
Leon-Gomez was already the subject of an ongoing sexual assault investigation involving the girl, according to the Repository.
He was charged with rape, obstructing official business and contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child.

Man who raped teen on FaceTime call busted thanks to screenshots
A brutal rapist who attacked a teenager while she chatted to her boyfriend on FaceTime was caught thanks to him taking screengrabs of the attack.
Samuel Fortes, 27, followed the 19-year-old victim through the England city of Leeds before dragging her under an overpass and raping her during a 15-minute attack.
Although horrified by what he was seeing, the victim’s boyfriend took a screenshot of Fortes stamping on the girl – which was later used by police as evidence.
He called the police and his girlfriend was found a short time after at the scene of the attack, battered and bruised and naked from the waist down.
The victim’s heartbroken dad later said: “It is like you have been growing and protecting a flower for 19 years and all of a sudden somebody just comes and stomps on it.”
The student was returning from a night out with friends when Fortes, who had been lurking in Leeds city centre, spotted her at 3:15 a.m.
He walked alongside the teenager and asked her for her number.
She politely refused and tried to walk off, still chatting to her boyfriend on the mobile phone app.
As she was about to cross a footbridge to walk home, Fortes grabbed her from behind, Leeds Crown Court was told.
Prosecutor David Gordon said: “The victim struggled and told Fortes to get off her.
“He was smirking and she asked him why. His reply was to punch her in the face six times.”
He dragged her from the footbridge to underneath an overpass where she was savagely attacked.
Most of her clothes were ripped off. She suffered a fracture to her face, a broken tooth and extensive swelling to her face and body.
PUNCHED HER SIX TIMES IN THE FACE
The victim feared she was going to die but Fortes was disturbed when three passers-by on the footbridge found her handbag, phone and keys.
They went to look for the victim and found Fortes attacking her. Fortes fled and police were called.
One officer said: “I was also shocked by the injuries to her face. They were some of the worst I have seen in my 11 years of service.”
Fortes spent an hour hiding behind a bush before fleeing back to his home city of Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
But he was caught after a painstaking forensic examination of the scene revealed a single piece of hair which was linked to his DNA.
CCTV also showed him wandering around Leeds city centre before the attack, following his victim, and catching a train afterwards.
He was arrested – with the teen’s blood still on his sneakers.
Fortes admitted rape and wounding with intent at Leeds Crown Court on Monday and on Thursday was jailed for life with a minimum of eight years to be served.
Judge Rodney Jameson QC described the victim’s statement as “the most remarkable I have ever encountered,” adding: “I salute her extraordinary courage.”
The victim, now 20, said in the statement read to the court: “I was and still am sickened by the thought that one human could do that to another. I thought I was going to die. It is a feeling that no words could ever describe.
The court heard Fortes, who came to the UK from Portugal in 2010, has previous convictions for domestic violence against an ex-partner in 2017.

Man confessed to giving STDs to 3-year-old relative
A Texas man has confessed to raping a 3-year-old female relative, leading her to contract chlamydia and gonorrhea, court documents show. Top articles3/5Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t invited to Bernie’s campaign kickoff
Drevon Alexander Perkins, 26, of San Antonio, was arrested Tuesday after the girl’s mother noticed discharge in her diaper and took her to a hospital for observation. A doctor later confirmed she had been infected with two sexually transmitted diseases and a police investigation was launched, according to court records cited by the San Antonio Express-News.
Perkins later allegedly admitted during a polygraph test to raping the girl while he was high on drugs in January, telling investigators he attacked her at his apartment while her mother was working.
Perkins had previously been diagnosed with chlamydia and gonorrhea, court records show.
He remained in custody as of Thursday on $100,000 bond at the Bexar County Jail on a felony charge of super aggravated sexual assault of a child, jail records show. If convicted, Perkins faces a minimum of 25 years in prison, KTRK reports.
The alleged victim is Perkins’ relative, according to KSAT.
Lyft driver charged with kidnapping, raping intoxicated female passenger
A Lyft driver in Louisiana kidnapped and raped an intoxicated female passenger at his apartment last month, authorities said.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto said the 43-year-old victim told police in New Orleans that a driver later identified as Yousef Hamed, 30, picked her up after a night of drinking on Jan. 23. A friend of the woman had earlier called for a ride on her behalf because she was “fairly intoxicated,” Lopinto told reporters Thursday.
But instead of taking the woman to her home just several blocks away, Hamed drove her to his apartment in Harvey, where he asked the woman to come inside. She accepted the invitation and Hamed proceeded to remove her clothing inside the residence before raping her vaginally and anally. He then returned to the Bywater section of New Orleans and dropped the woman off, Lopinto said.
At some point during the ride, Hamed disconnected the fare, signaling to the woman’s friend that the trip was over and that she presumably had arrived home safely, according to the sheriff.
“Most people are going to be able to get home [when using ride-hailing apps like Lyft] but it goes to show that we have sick people in this world,” Lopinto told reporters.
The woman reported the alleged rape to New Orleans police the following day, prompting a rape kit to be performed. Due to her state of intoxication, the woman was initially unsure of exactly where the sexual assault occurred, but investigators later determined with the help of Lyft representatives that the rape took place in Jefferson Parish, authorities said.
Hamed, who has no known prior criminal history, remained held on $400,000 bond at the Jefferson Parish Correctional as of Friday, jail records show.
Lopinto also noted that Hamed claimed that he had consensual sex with the woman, claiming that she had acted in a “childish” manner and admitted to him that she was intoxicated. But Lopinto dismissed that claim, saying that an impaired person cannot provide consent to sexual activity.
“I hate to put it this way, but when somebody’s intoxicated to any point, we know in this society that this action is not appropriate, so I could care less about what he says from that standpoint,” Lopinto told reporters. “A Lyft driver should never be picking up a stranger and bringing them back to their apartment under any type of circumstance, so let’s make that very clear.”
Lyft reps, meanwhile, characterized the allegations as “horrific” in a statement to The Post.
“The safety of our community is our top priority, and we have no tolerance for this behavior on our platform,” the statement read. “We have deactivated the driver and reached out to extend our support to the passenger. We have also been in touch with law enforcement, and stand ready to assist with their investigation.”
Gamer’s alleged rape of teen girl overheard on PlayStation
A video game player faces rape charges after he was reportedly overheard through his PlayStation console forcing a teen girl to have sex, police said.
Daniel Enrique Fabian, 18, was charged Wednesday with lewd and lascivious battery in connection to an incident earlier this year at his New Port Richey, Florida, home, news station WFTS reported.
Police said Fabian was playing “Grand Theft Auto” against another gamer online in June when he said he planned to “smash” a girl who was over his house.
The other player said Fabian left his gaming microphone on and he could hear the 15-year-old victim refusing his advances.
The girl reportedly told Fabian “no” four times, but he continued to have sex with her, according to an arrest affidavit.
About 15 minutes later, Fabian resumed the game with the other player, police said.
The victim told officers that she was sitting on Fabian’s bed when he covered her mouth with his hand and pushed her down to rape her. The girl completed a rape kit, which linked Fabian to the alleged crime through DNA testing, news station WFLA reported.

Family of pedophiles raped kids for 30 years before being caught
A sick family raped children during a 30-year campaign of abuse branded the “worst ever case of its kind” by a judge.
Twisted Antony Potts and three members of his family carried out a string of child abuse offenses over the course of three decades.
The 49-year-old was described as a “deeply depraved man” as he was jailed for life at Birmingham Crown Court.
He was convicted of 13 counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and nine counts of inciting a child to perform a sexual act and cruelty.
Antony was joined in the docket by his dad, Keith Potts, who was caged for eight years alongside his wife, Julie, both for child cruelty.
Antony’s wife, Elaine, and family friend Joanne Hoye were also both jailed for four years after pleading guilty to neglect.
Brother Joshua Potts admitted to multiple counts of rape and sexual assault against children, while his sibling Nathan, 26, was jailed for 16 years for two counts of rape of a child, four counts of sexual assault, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and sex with another adult.
Jailing Antony Potts, Judge Carr told him: “You are a deeply depraved man who has taken many, many opportunities to abuse children and corrupt them.
“These are horrendous offenses.
“In 50 years practice and presiding over cases like this, I cannot think of a worse one.”
The court heard how the sickening abuse first came to light in 1989 when a girl came forward and told cops what Antony had done to her.
But the case was never brought to trial and in May 2015, three more children – all aged under 14 – said they had been abused by Antony and others.
Police were once again called but it was decided there was insufficient evidence to bring charges. However, the case was reopened in January 2016 when a fifth victim came forward.
The full extent of the abuse began to unravel and a further three victims were identified – meaning the vile family could be brought to trial.
Jurors were read emotional victim impact statements giving harrowing details of how the victims were “groomed and brainwashed” by their abusers.
One said the abuse had a “major impact” on her life and she felt she was “let down as a child” by the police.
She also said she has suffered from “constant and daily panic attacks,” has post-traumatic stress disorder and has “reduced self-worth.”
Another victim said: “I want Antony to go to prison all his life so he can’t hurt anyone else.”
Joshua Potts will be sentenced in August.

Woman made up rape claim because date wouldn’t drive her home
CLYDE, N.Y. — Police in upstate New York say a woman falsely accused someone of rape for not giving her a ride home.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Jessica Gallagher of Clyde was charged Sunday with false reporting of a crime. Deputies say Gallagher told police she was abducted by a man she met on a dating app before being blindfolded and raped.
Investigators say Gallagher later admitted she fabricated the story because she was angry at the man for refusing to give her a ride home.
Gallagher was arraigned and is being held Tuesday in the county jail. She’s scheduled to return to court on July 18. It couldn’t immediately be determined if she has a lawyer who could comment on the charges.

Teen raped girl as pals banged door asking for a ‘turn’
A South Carolina teen is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl at his home while his friends banged on the door to ask for a “turn,” according to authorities.
Joshua Allen Hughes, 17, was charged with criminal sexual conduct and pointing and presenting a firearm in connection to the June 6 incident at a Myrtle Beach residence, news station WPDE reported.
The girl told police that she talked to Hughes on Snapchat before he picked her up with two other boys in his car.
When they arrived at the home, she reportedly went upstairs with Hughes, who began kissing her. The teen girl claimed she told him that she didn’t want to have sex but he proceeded to anyway, according to police.
From outside the room, several other boys allegedly “began to bang and yell… telling [Hughes] to let them in so they could have a turn,” the police report stated.
The teen girl said that when she tried to escape, the other guests “pointed firearms at her and began to taunt her about the incident,” according to officials.
Hughes was arrested and booked Tuesday at J. Reuben Long Detention Center. He was released to home detention on $15,615 bond, according to court records.
