Pedophile beaten and drowned in prison cell toilet bowl
A pedophile was allegedly drowned in his Florida prison cell toilet after being beaten by a cellmate, according to a report.
Convicted child molester David Oseas Ramirez, 56, was found dead in his cell in Jacksonville’s Duval County Jail last Tuesday allegedly after being beaten and drowned in the toilet bowl, according to First Coast News.
He was serving life for lewd and lascivious molestation of an 11-year-old girl — with his 2013 jury taking less than 15 minutes to find him guilty, according to Newsweek.
The attack was witnessed by a third inmate and also captured on surveillance camera footage, which has not been released, the station said. A medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
Cellmate Paul Dixon, 43, was arrested on suspicion of Ramirez’s murder, authorities announced. He was already serving life for a murder committed when he was 17.
“A verbal altercation became physical. The suspect killed the victim in his cell,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
“A third cell-mate was present and witnessed the murder. The suspect declined to speak with detectives and requested an attorney.”
The killing highlighted how there is “no peace in jail” for convicted child molesters, News4Jax crime and safety analyst Ken Jefferson said.
“They have to constantly watch over their back. They have to hope they can befriend someone to look out for them,” he said.
Jacksonville sheriff’s assistant chief Brian Kee told Action News Jax that the department has not had a similar crime “in recent memory.”
“I mean, I’ve been here almost 23 years. I can’t recall one,” Kee said.

O.J. Simpson is released from prison early Sunday morning
Quietly, O.J. Simpson Is Released From Prison Early Sunday Morning, October 1, 2017 After Serving Nine Years For A 2007 Robbery And Kidnapping Incident In Las Vegas.
The Hall of Fame football player left Lovelock Correctional Center with an unidentified driver at 12:08 a.m., Brooke Keast, a spokeswoman for the Nevada Department of Corrections told The Los Angeles Times, saying simply: “He is out.”
“[The release] was incident free, nobody followed, it was exactly what we’d hoped we could do for public safety,” Keast told reporters. “It was a public safety concern. To make it quiet, under the radar and incident free.”
Simpson, originally sentenced to nine-to-33 years in prison for conducting a sting to retrieve memorabilia from his sports career, was granted parole in July, with a date of “on or after Oct. 1″ set. He had reacted emotionally, mouthing a “thank you” as four members of the Nevada Board of Prisons delivered their votes for parole.
“Floridians are well aware of Mr. Simpson’s background, his wanton disregard for the lives of others, and of his scofflaw attitude with respect to the heinous acts for which he has been found civilly liable,” Pam Bondi wrote in the letter (via Associated Press). “Our state should not become a country club for this convicted criminal.”
Whatever the future holds for Simpson, it is likely to be somewhat surreal, given his past and the circumstances surrounding his parole hearing.
Offered the chance to make a statement, Simpson apologized. “I’ve come here and spent nine years making no excuses about anything. I am sorry things turned out the way they did. … I tell inmates all the time ‘Don’t complain about your grind. Do your time.’ … I believe in the jury system. I will honor the decision. … I have done my time and I’d like to get back to my friends. And believe it or not I do have some friends. I don’t think anyone could have honored this institution better. … I’m sorry it happened.”
Will Simpson live in California, where he was acquitted of double murder in the “trial” of the century in 1995, or will he go to Florida, where he was living before his arrest? And how will he be received after being the subject of a popular miniseries and documentary on his murder trial? Only time will tell.
Man admits to tricking women into sex for ‘porn rehearsals’
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City-area man has pleaded guilty to duping dozens of women into having sex with him on camera by telling them they were rehearsing for roles in pornographic movies.
The U.S. attorney’s office says 34-year-old Mario Antoine, of Raymore, pleaded guilty to one wire fraud count and will be sentenced to 10 years in prison under the terms of the deal he agreed to Friday. He also will be required to pay restitution to his victims. Formal sentencing is set for Sept. 13.
Prosecutors said Antoine created online aliases as a talent manager, photographer and videographer and claimed to work for fictitious companies in the pornography industry. Investigators say he promised to pay the women thousands of dollars.
Prosecutors say when the women complained about not being paid, Antoine forwarded images of the sexual activity to their employers or significant others.
