Pete Davidson Says His ‘Career Would Be Over’ If He Acted Like Ariana Grande
Pete Davidson believes a double standard is at play when it comes to how he and Arianna Grande are publicly perceived after their whirlwind 2018 summer romance ended as tragically as accidentally getting the word “‘BBQ grill’” tattooed on one’s hand … or yelling at college students for using their phones.
And nothing is more emblematic of that than a few jokes Davidson makes about his famous ex-fiancée in his new Netflix comedy special, “Alive From New York.”
In his stand-up routine, Davidson references a cover story on Grande in Vogue’s July 2019 issue, in which the pop star opened up about her intense relationship with Davidson that consisted of dating, getting engaged and breaking up within the span of about five months.
“I met Pete, and it was an amazing distraction,” Grande told the magazine. “It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn’t know him.”
The “7 Rings” singer posed for the issue’s cover sporting a deep and controversial tan.
“Can you imagine if I did that?” Davidson said in his special, via Vulture. “My career would be over tomorrow. If I spray-painted myself brown and hopped on the cover of Vogue magazine and just started shitting on my ex.”
And although Ted Danson and Fred Armisen still have careers despite giving themselves spray tans, Davidson wasn’t quite done slamming his ex. He zeroed in on Grande describing their romance as a “distraction.”
“Can you imagine if I did that shit? If I was just like, ‘Yeah, I was just fucking her ‘cause I was bored, and then Fortnite came out.’ It would be insane,” Davidson jabbed.
The “Saturday Night Live” player then gets to his point.
“You’re like, ‘Pete, something had to happen to her, right? There had to be some repercussions.’ No, she won Billboard’s Woman of the Year and I got called ‘butthole eyes’ by BarstoolSports.com”
Davidson didn’t stop there. He also inferred that all of Grande’s fans are angry, cancel-happy 9-year-olds and how he can’t order drinks at Starbucks anymore because a cup size is called “grande.”
After talking about how all his friends thought Grande’s breakup anthem “Thank U, Next” (which mentions her split with Davidson) was catchy, the comedian decides to point out what he considers another double standard at work.
“I don’t like that she talked all this shit on, like, behalf of my dick,” he said. I thought that was super weird,” Pete said. “Can you imagine if I said that shit? Can you imagine if I was like, ‘Sorry, it didn’t work out. Nice pussy, though!’?”

Pete Davidson asks fans to sign $1 million NDA before attending comedy shows: report
Pete Davidson is taking extra precautions to protect his comedy shows.
The “Saturday Night Live” star, 26, is reportedly making attendees of his shows sign a $1 million nondisclosure agreement before admission.
One fan, who attended a show at the Sydney Goldstein Theater in San Fransico, posted screenshots of the contract and detailed its demands on Facebook, according to Consequence of Sound.
“I got an email today informing me that in order to see this show I have to sign a nondisclosure agreement,” the post said. “In that NDA the signer CANNOT GIVE ANY INTERVIEWS, OPINIONS OR CRITIQUES about it in ANY form whatsoever including blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or any other social networking.”
The poster also claims that the contract gives Davidson’s team the right to confiscate, seize and destroy any phones or cameras that breach the agreement, and that any breach will require a $1 million payment in damages and legal fees.
“I understood and was willing to consent to the initial request of locking up any phones or cameras brought to the event, but I think this a bit ridiculous and over the top,” she said. “I get that comedians are protective of their jokes and don’t want their routines rebroadcast, but it’s rather Orwellian to not allow anyone to share an opinion on it. Don’t perform for the public if you don’t want people to have an opinion about it!”
Consequence of Sound alleges that the NDAs have been employed by Davidson since at least November 7, when he performed in Minneapolis.
Sources were able to confirm to Variety that Davidson intended to hand out the NDAs at a Chicago show on November 30, as well.
The screenshots also say that any fans who don’t sign the NDA will not be granted admission, but will be given a full refund.
Neither Pete Davidson or the Sydney Goldstein Theater immediately responded to Fox News’ request for comment.

Ariana Grande Chops Off Signature Ponytail, Debuts Post-Breakup Lob
In the grand tradition of Felicity Porter and other women who’ve famously embraced a post-breakup haircut, Ariana Grande has debuted a brand new look weeks after splitting from ex-fiancé Pete Davidson.
The “Thank U, Next” singer has seemingly removed her ever-so-famous hair extensions responsible for the power pony she’s been rocking since as long as we can remember.
The pop princess shared the first peek at her chic shoulder-length lob on Instagram Thursday with what else but a floral bunny ears filter.
Grande has been candid about why she’s made the pony her signature style early on in her career, revealing she wasn’t left with a much of a choice after her hair was “completely destroyed.”
Before her pop star days, Grande got her big break on the Nickelodeon series “Victorious,” which required the star to “bleach my hair and dye it red every other week.”
“My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions but I wear it in a pony tail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down,” she wrote in a Facebook in 2014. “I tried wigs, they looked RIDICULOUS. Tried a weave because I am working on a new project and want to try some different looks and literally wanted to rip my scalp off.”
But she learned to embrace her lustrous locks, explaining that the ponytail “brings me so much joy, honestly” even if fans might tire of the look.
“Every time I put my hair up, it’s like a surprise. Like, I forget how much I love it, and then I tie it back and I’m like, ‘I love this look! Ooh, girl!’” she told Byrdie in a 2016 interview. “Every time I tie it up is like the first time. It’s like true love.”
But with a brand new song topping the charts, another album to promote and a new era on its way, clearly it was time to make the chop.

Pete Davidson Joked About Messing With Ariana Grande’s Birth Control on SNL
The 44th season of Saturday Night Live premiered on Saturday night—and it definitely gave fans a lot to talk about. There was Matt Damon’s portrayal of a super bro-y Brett Kavanaugh in the show’s cold open, as well as Kanye West performing dressed first as a giant bottle of Perrier and then in a MAGA hat. But there was one moment during Pete Davidson‘s turn on the “Weekend Update” desk that Twitter is decidedly not ok with.
While sitting down with SNL cast mate Colin Jost to chat about his engagement (and whether or not the couple has a prenup), Davidson joked that his fiancee, singer Ariana Grande, pays $60,000 for rent while all he has to do is “stock the fridge.” When Jost commented that a man “doesn’t always have to be the breadwinner in a relationship,” Davidson replied, “G*****n right, he does not—last night I switched her birth control with Tic Tacs.”
“I believe in us, and all,” he continued, “I just want to make sure she can’t go anywhere.”
If you’re fully cringing at this statement, you are definitely not alone.
Fans on Twitter were less than thrilled with the comment, especially given the timing of this weeks episode. “Apparently Pete Davidson thinks it’s ok to make jokes about switching Ariana’s birth control with tic-tacs?? Really? At this stage in the game this dude can no longer call these jokes,” wrote one fan on Twitter. “#SNL Pete Davidson joking that he switched Ariana Grade’s birth control with tic tacs IS COMPLETELY TONE DEAF given all of their needling of Kavanaugh.”
