Kid Rock’s Detroit restaurant is closing after profane Oprah rant goes viral — but he says he’s not racist
Kid Rock confirmed that, come April, he will not be renewing the licensing agreement for his Made In Detroit restaurant, his signature eatery at Little Caesars Arena that opened in 2017. The space will instead offer a new concept which “aligns with our community and company values,” said Chris Granger, president of sports and entertainment for Ilitch Holdings, according to Detroit Free Press.
The news comes days after Kid Rock’s drunken, profanity-laced tirade against Oprah Winfrey went viral, with the 48-year-old musician alluding to the drama in a Wednesday Facebook post announcing the news.
“I appreciate all who have patronized our place and still have much love for the City of Detroit and the people / organizations that I have helped there for years, black, white, whatever, but learned long ago, go where you’re celebrated, not tolerated,” Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, wrote.
“I guess the millions of dollars I pumped into that town was not enough. I will let the NAN network and others go ahead and take the wheel now. Good luck,” the Detroit native continued.
Kid Rock was referencing the not-for-profit civil-rights organization National Action Network (NAN), founded by the Reverend Al Sharpton, with whom the rocker has clashed over the years. He added, “Trump 2020!!” before specifically listing a few organizations in Detroit to which he’s donated hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Hours later, he tweeted, “All this BS going on has just go my blood pumpin’ and is only more songwriting fuel for a new record and tour in 2021. I am beholden to no one, no corporate sponsors, no label and I am gonna go the f*** off!” He added in another tweet, “You haters better be shaking in your boots.”
The “Only God Knows Why” singer faced backlash after a vulgar video of him bashing Winfrey, Joy Behar and Kathie Lee Gifford was posted online last week. Kid Rock, who appeared heavily intoxicated, made the statements on a mic at his Honky Tonk bar in Nashville. Many people viewed his comments as racist, something he denied mid-rant.
“Oprah Winfrey is like ‘Hey, I want to get some white women to believe in this [expletive],” he yelled. “And if you say that, you’re like, ‘Hey, well I’m pretty sure Kid Rock is a racist.’ I’m like, okay fine. [Expletive].”
“I’m not a bad guy,” added the musician. “I don’t like Oprah Winfrey or Joy Behar.”
He continued, “They’re like, you’re [expletive] racist, I’m like, you’re [expletive] weird. You call your people, I’ll call mine.”
Kid Rock (sort of) elaborated on his disdain for Winfrey in a follow-up tweet Friday.
A Detroit activist group said it plans to hold a news conference on Wednesday about what it calls his “reprehensible tirade,” according to the Associated Press.

Mo’Nique Questions If Tyler Perry Paid Taraji P. Henson ‘Fairly’
She also has some thoughts on Tyler Perry buying Tiffany Haddish a car…
Mo’Nique is still questioning other people’s check. First, she was crying over Whoopi Goldberg‘s salary at “The View” and now she is asking if Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson was paid “fairly” by Tyler Perry.
Back in June, Henson said about Tyler Perry, “I think the industry knew I was talented. But it’s about money. Are you bankable? I had to continuously prove that. I’ve been trying to prove and improve. I was asking for half a million. I didn’t get paid that until I did my first Tyler Perry film.”
Sounds like she was happy with her salary, but in an interview with Comedy Hype, Mo’Nique said, “He says, ‘I’m the first person to pay Taraji P. Henson the most money she’s ever made.’ And then we say, ‘But did you pay her fairly?’ And then he said, ‘I paid her more than she’s ever made.’ What does that mean, brother?”
She then made a statement about a car Perry bought for Tiffany Haddish. “When you go and buy Tiffany Haddish a car” and her husband Sidney Hicks added, “If I give you what you are worth, you can buy your own car.” Watch below:
In another interview that was released last month by Comedy Hype, the Oscar winner said about Whoopi Goldberg’s money, “Because Whoopi Goldberg told me the salary she makes from ‘The View.’ And that hurt my feelings. You’ve been there for 10 years and you accept them paying you that? And you’re telling me, ‘Don’t worry about the little ones coming up? Damn if I ain’t gotta be worried about you too. Because you accept that salary, it makes it hard for me. And how hard do you think it’s gonna make for the ones who ain’t here yet, because you accept that salary?”
She continued, “What if Moms Mabley didn’t worry about you? What if those ones didn’t make it better for us? So, I tried not to take it personal, but it’s personal. Because these are the women I look to. So I don’t want the little girl who’s not here yet… or a little girl down the street at the juicebar… I don’t want her to walk away and say, ‘That ain’t who I thought she was.’”
Whoopi Goldberg is allegedly paid $5 million a year at “The View” and net worth is supposedly $50 million. Henson’s net worth is allegedly $16 million.

Spiritual ‘healer’ featured on Oprah accused of sexual abuse
RIO DE JANEIRO — Ten women in Brazil have accused a self-styled spiritual healer of sexually abusing them at a clinic in the central-western state of Goias.
The accusations against Joao Teixeira de Faria, known as John of God, were made Saturday night on the Globo TV network.
It was not immediately clear if Farias was being investigated by prosecutors.
In a statement to the G1 news portal, Faria’s press office said: “John of God vehemently denies having committed any inappropriate behavior during his treatments.”
Faria’s faith-based healing skills drew the attention of TV host Oprah Winfrey, who said on her website that she interviewed him at his clinic in 2013 and saw him performing psychic surgeries.
Faria’s website says he has treated former President Bill Clinton and Brazil’s ex-President Luiz Inacio da Silva.

Mo’Nique’s Three Year Hobo Tour: Part 1- Empire
Mo’Nique has established herself as an important marker in the entertainment industry as a comedian and an actress; having made great strides: breaking barriers for women, African Americans, and plus size people.
She initially became well-known from her hit show The Parkers. She went on to host her late night talk show The Monique Show in 2009 to 2011. She earned an Oscar for her role in Precious and was nominated for an Emmy in Bessie.
After her Precious and Bessie roles we did not see as much as Mo’ as we should have, for an Oscar awardee. She came out about four years ago to tell her story.
Watch Lovelyti’s first video on the situation: Mo’Nique says EMPIRE creator Lee Daniels told her she was “Blackballed” after her Oscar win.
Mo’ continued to defend herself against the allegations of a nasty attitude. To shed light on Lee Daniels character, Mo’ alleged that Daniels once called Halle Berry a B***ch “[out of nervousness]”:
Around the same time, Mo’nique says she was supposed to play Cookie on Empire. The co-creator of Empire, Danny Strong, said that was not true, and Cookie has always been Taraji’s role:
Lee Daniels allegedly claimed Mo’Nique was never considered for the role of Cookie, and the show’s co-creator Danny Strong insisted that she’s never been offered the part. In response, during her interview on Sway in the Morning, Mo’Nique brought along proof that she was offered the role of Cookie, in the form of a printed email chain between her and Daniels’ team.
This was around April of 2015. Mo’ later came back onto the radar in May of 2017 when a clip of her comedy show went viral, in which she blasted Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry.
“[They] could suck my d*** if I had one.
Mo’ continued her tour in January of 2018 at Netflix headquarters.
Stacey Dash Comes For Oprah, Meryl Streep, Seal And Everyone Else
Stacey Dash Says Oprah & Meryl Streep Knew About Harvey Weinstein, Plus She Claps Back At Seal For Saying She Lives In The Sunken Place
After Seal reposted a meme on his Instagram that suggested that Oprah purposely turned a blind eye to Weinstein’s sexually depraved behavior, Stacey Dash echoed his sentiments. However, Seal did not support Dash and went on to say “Don’t try and use me as a pawn against Oprah, or any of your political games,”.
“Stacey Dash, keep my name out of your mouth. Do not retweet [or] re-quote anything I said in order to reinforce your self-hating agenda. You live in the Sunken Place.”
Dash responded to Seal in an open letter, in which she also took the opportunity to cast shade towards Oprah and other celebrities that might have known of Weinstein’s sexual misconducts. Dash went on to deconstruct the #MeToo movement to nothing more than high school politics.
“I won’t walk back what I believe. Oprah the homecoming queen, prom queen and class president knew. Meryl, the high school drama star knew. Most of those women wearing black knew. The class clown, Seth McFarland knew. He joked about it a few years ago on the Oscars, Hollywood’s equivalent of the prom,” Dash writes.
“You know how I can say this? BECAUSE I KNEW. So how “clueless” am I? I knew enough when meeting Harvey Weinstein, to bring a male chaperone and it paid off as he did make a move on me. My chaperone blocked him and said, ‘Not this one.’ You can read all about it here. My chaperone knew.”
The actress continued, “As so many of my critics like to point out, aside from “Clueless” I am nobody. So how did this “nobody” know about Harvey Weinstein, and the popular, powerful mogul, Oprah Winfrey did not? How did the Oscar-laden “Iron Lady” Meryl Streep not know? Hollywood is one big, dark, John Hughes movie. Some of us sit with the regular kids. Some are the outsiders. However, the cool kids sit at the cool kids lunch table and they talk.”
“They talk a lot and they share their elite information among their members at that table. They know the deal. They know how it works and they know they have an image to uphold. From the popular crowd to the freaks and geeks, they all knew the faculty to avoid. Let’s just say right here, I am not judging nor am I condemning. I am simply doing the math and coming up with what appears to be an obvious answer. Occam’s Razor says the simplest answer is usually the correct one. I am writing this with Occam’s Razor.”

STEVE HARVEY SUED FOR ALLEGED FRAUD INVOLVING CHARITY Blames Oprah, Tyler Perry for Bad Financial Advice
STEVE HARVEY SUED FOR ALLEGED FRAUD INVOLVING CHARITY: Blames Oprah and Tyler Perry for Bad Financial Advice
Steve Harvey is being sued by someone who claims he was hired by the TV mogul to raise $20 million for the Steve and Marjorie Foundation as well as other ventures and got royally stiffed.
Vincent Dimmock claims he struck a deal with Harvey in April to raise the $20 mil, and in return he says he was promised 12.5% of everything he brought in. Dimmock says in the lawsuit he had access to high-level execs, A-list entertainers and political figures including a former President, and he got pledges for $20 mil.
According to the suit, Dimmock delivered on the first million but Harvey refused to pay him his commission.
Dimmock claims Harvey never intended to pay him and then goes on to make various allegations.
Dimmock says he introduced Harvey to an investor in May, and during their meeting he allegedly disparaged women, blamed Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry for giving him bad financial advice and also blamed Barack Obama for Harvey’s “disastrous meeting with Donald Trump.”
He says Harvey and his foundation were in bad financial shape because of a series of P.R. gaffes, including mocking Asian men and meeting with Trump.
We reached out to Harvey’s agent, Todd Frank, who tells TMZ, “It sounds fake. Steve is the most loyal guy in the world. I’ve never been stiffed on a commission from Steve Harvey in 21 years.”
