Cardi B wants videotape and text messages with Offset sealed in $30 million court battle
Article via RevoltTV
Cardi B has taken a trip back to court in hopes of blocking a videotape and private text messages with Offset from being released.
According to The Blast, Cardi is worried about her videotaped deposition, which is scheduled for this month. During the deposition, Cardi will be confronted by her former manager, Klenord “Shaft” Raphael, in regards to their lawsuit. Cardi is urging the judge to seal the videotape. The Invasion of Privacy spitter fears that the video will become a social media frenzy if released.
“The public release of any video of Ms. Almanzar’s deposition, in particular, poses a significant risk of harm and misuse on social media platforms because it is highly likely that any such video will be reproduced and edited (and possibly manipulated) into out-of-context video clips and GIFs of her testimony,” the site reveals. “Any such video clips are likely to be widely posted on YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter and remain available through trial in this case. Such dissemination would be an egregious and prejudicial invasion of Ms. Almanzar’s privacy and could significantly affect the available jury pool.”
Back in April, Cardi was sued for $10 million by her former manager for a breach in contract. As a response, Cardi countersued Raphael for $15 million in damages. She also accused Raphel of screwing her over in multiple business affairs.
The Bronx spitter stated that Raphael took advantage of her “trust and naiveté and persuaded her to sign contracts and to enter into deals in which Mr. Raphael attempted to take an unreasonable and unconscionable portion of [her] earnings in the entertainment industry for himself.”
Last week, Cardi emphasized the importance of being safe and cautious. The mother-of-one was set to hit the stage at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Downtown Indianapolis. Unfortunately, one hour before the soldout show, the event was canceled due to a security threat.
“Dear Indiana I just want to let you know I was in the venue today,” Cardi wrote in an effort to sympathize with her fans. “I rehearsed and started doing glam.Due to a security threat that is under investigation the show was canceled. My safety and your safety first .I want to thank the promoters we have already rescheduled the show. Im so sorry guys I never dealt with a situation like this before and I’m not taking any chances.I love you guys.”

Offset gets candid about the government shutdown.
Cardi B‘s rant towards Trump’s decision to shut down the government garnered a lot of traction from both Republicans and Democrats alike. Following her lead, Offset also shared his thoughts on the ongoing government shutdown during a recent interview with Esquire.
Offset rarely gets political, but it’s likely we’ll get a rare glimpse into that side of him on his forthcoming project, according to his interview. The rapper is getting ready to release his solo album which was initially scheduled to drop in December. The ongoing government shutdown seems to have sparked some inspiration with Offset who thinks America as a whole is going through a rough patch.
“We’re going through a fucked up time,” he said. “Both sides. Black and the white. You know why? The government shutdown. Black people aren’t working, white folks aren’t working. It’s everybody.”
Offset, who’s traveled across the globe with the Migos, said the reality of America is much sadder than the perception of the country from overseas.
“This ain’t supposed to be going down. Not in America. We got our chest out, we got the money, we got the cars, we got the celebrities, we got the stars, everybody wants to be like us. All these other countries when I go there, they’re inspired by us,” he said. “Seeing people talk about how they can’t pay their bills but they have to work. That’s some slave shit. I don’t really get into it politics because I’m usually on the other side of it. There’s black mothers with jobs, and now you take their jobs away. And then the president, I don’t really want to speak on him but he’s rich. Make a n*gga respect you, because a n*gga don’t respect you. He’s rich and has these folks struggling.”
The government shutdown is on its 31st day as of today (Jan. 22nd). According to CNN, there’s a very slim chance that the government will fully reopen at a quick pace.
Cardi B Announces First Show Since Giving Birth
Cardi B initially planned to be back on tour six weeks after giving birth to Kulture Kiari Cephus. After Cardi gave birth she realized that a tour so soon would take a toll on her – and of course Cardi would want to spend more time with her daughter, so she cancelled the tour with Bruno.
Cardi B will be back for tour at Mala Luna Music Festival in San Antonio, Texas, which takes place from October 27-28. The festival will also feature performances from Tyler, the Creator, Tierra Whack, Lil Pump, Rico Nasty, BlocBoy JB, and more.
