Deadpool Movie Review
Yes I know I’m late with this but better late than never. As you all know the movie Deadpool was released to theaters this weekend, and the question you’re probably asking is the movie good? My answer, no it wasn’t good, IT WAS AMAZING!
When I say this movie delivered, it delivered! I can honestly say that Deadpool is the best comic book movie released so far. All of the elements that you would see in the comics you see in the movie. That means, gore, hilarity and also fourth wall breaking. Just like Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man, Ryan Reynolds is definitely Deadpool. He delivered the merc with the mouth’s characteristics perfectly and I can’t see anyone else doing this role.
All in all, my friend and I, and pretty much the rest of the theater enjoyed this movie, it’s a 10 out of 10 easy. I’ll definitely be waiting for the sequel!
However! Here is a definite disclaimer for parents thinking about taking their underage kids to see this movie. I don’t mean 15-16, I mean 9-10 years old. Parents, DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO SEE THIS MOVIE! This film is rated R for a good reason. We don’t have time for your 8 year old to be exposed to the all the violence and gore and nude scenes then having the audacity to complain about the movie you took YOUR child to see. Basically parents, don’t ruin this movie experience for everyone else over your poor decisions, take your kids to see Batman Vs Superman, Captain America, hell even X-Men Apocalypse, but not this movie.
As for the people who are old enough to see it without an adult, if you haven’t seen Deadpool see it now, like literally right now!
The Perfect Guy Movie Review
The Perfect Guy has probably been the most talked about movie all week. I had the pleasure of seeing it yesterday and here’s my take on it.
The movie stars Sanaa Lathan as Leah Vaughn Michael Ealy as Carter Duncan and Morris Chestnut as David King. While the acting is good the movie felt a bit stale to me since I’ve technically seen the same movie earlier this year. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, watch The Boy Next Door. This movie is basically the male version of Fatal Attraction.
Basically Leah was dating David for a while and when it seemed like David wasn’t ready for marriage she breaks up with him. A short while later she meets Carter and she’s swooned by him. Basically he literally seems like the perfect guy to her, her friends like him, and her parents like him. Everything seemed normal till he snapped and beat up a guy at a gas station. After that Leah gets scared and dumps him and the craziness begins.
See what I mean? A male Fatal Attraction movie. I never understood why Hollywood tries to remake certain suspense films and try to rename it something else to make it seem like it’s different. The movie was pretty much predictable. You never had to guess and you can pretty much predict the fate of all of the characters involved.
But like I said while the plot was stale the acting was good. I enjoyed it more than The Boy Next Door at least. On a grading scale from A to F, I give it a D+ and I say D+ since the acting pretty much saved it from getting an F.
Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F Review (Spoilers)
As all us anime fans know, the new Dragon Ball Z movie, Resurrection F was released yesterday. Today was my town’s first showing of the movie which I preordered my ticket for. All i have to say is, I LOVED IT! As the title says, the movie is about the resurrection of DBZ’s most iconic villain, Frieza. After being wished back to life, he wastes no time on planning to kill Goku and pretty much destroy the earth.
When comparing this to last year’s movie Battle of Gods, this movie is definitely better than its predecessor. It’s very fast paced and full of action, and it also has its comedic moments as well. The fight between the Z Fighters and Frieza’s soldiers was awesome and it was good to see characters who have been in the background be in the spotlight again.
The fight between Goku and Golden Frieza was definitely shining moment in this movie. In the beginning it was Frieza who had the upper hand but as the fight dragged out it was went in Goku’s favor. I loved the new Super Saiyan God transformations as well and while I do love the movie I do wish that it was Vegeta who go the kill instead of Goku seeing is how he has more of a reason to hold a grudge against Frieza than Goku did. But nonetheless it doesn’t take away the awesomeness of this movie.
All in all, I give Resurrection F a 9.5/10 if you haven’t seen you better buy your tickets now before it’s too late!
