Charlamagne Tha God Announces Mental Health Conversation With Kanye West
New York, NY – In light of Kanye West’s most recent antics — which include a pro-Trump rant following his appearance on Saturday Night Live and a poorly conveyed message about abolishing the 13th amendment — Charlamagne Tha God has announced another sit-down conversation with YE.
The conversation is scheduled for October 17 at The Town Hall in New York City.
Charlamagne made the announcement on Instagram.
“Join me for a @timestalks with @kanyewest about Anxiety, Therapy, PTSD and all the other Mental Health stuff we don’t discuss enough,” he captioned the photo. “Also discussing my new book #ShookOne “Anxiety Playing Tricks On Me” moderated by @joncaramanica of the @nytimes. Buy tickets before they’re gone link in my bio!!!”
Over the past week, YE has caused a flurry of controversy. On Monday (October 1), he pushed the Yandhi album release date to November 23, which also outraged his fans. He had originally promised the album would arrive on September 29, the same night of his SNL performance.
Kanye told TMZ he was heading to Africa with his “alien YE” alter ego to finish the album.
Tickets for Charlamagne’s conversation with Kanye are available here.

Man has 200 coins, 100 nails and glass pieces removed from stomach
An Indian man complaining of stomach pains was found to have approximately 15 pounds of foreign metal objects in his stomach.
Maksud Khan of Satna, Madhya Pradesh in India, arrived at the hospital experiencing stomach pains that doctors presumed was food poisoning, but an endoscopy revealed the cause to be metal objects.
Those objects — 236 coins, 100 nails, dozens of razor blades, a 6-inch piece of a rusted iron shackle, four needles, and a few glasses pieces — were found in the man’s stomach.
Priyank Sharma, who led the surgical team, told International Business Times, “We were shocked to discover coins, nails and nut-bolts in his stomach. We come across such a case for the first in our career.” Khan’s relatives said he was suffering from depression, which may have triggered the habit.
“Usually, people start eating abnormal things under certain psychological conditions. He had been eating metal for a year but did not tell anyone,” A.P.S. Geharwar, head of surgery, told Times of India.
Another doctor said the condition was caught in the nick of time. “Some of the nails lodged had pierced his stomach, caused bleeding and resulting in loss of hemoglobin,” the doctor told International Business Times.
Doctors said Khan was in stable condition, with no lasting damage to his internal organs and a promise from Khan that he wouldn’t do it again.
A 2010 study looked at 33 adult patients who were responsible for 305 cases of medical intervention because they ingested foreign objects, including batteries, knives and razor blades.
Man arrested for holding neighbor captive in backyard pit
A man in Ohio with a history of mental illness was arrested early Wednesday after a woman was found trapped in a pit in a shed in his back yard, police said.
Dennis Dunn, 45, of Blanchester, was arrested after police responded to his home following a neighbor’s report of cries and screams from the backyard shed. The woman, a neighbor, who was found inside the hole — more than 3 feet deep and 2 feet wide — was unable to speak when she was pulled out, WLWT reports.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment and later released. Her mother reported her missing just hours before she was found in the hole, which was covered with wood and other heavy objects, WLWT reports.
The pit also was covered by a heavy wooden board, making it impossible for the victim to escape, WXIX reports.
Dunn, who was charged with one count of kidnapping, eventually came out of the home after four hours, walking out the front door “like he was going for a stroll,” investigators told WLWT.
Dunn was arrested earlier this month on charges of disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana after he called police four times to claim he was hearing voices and that people were trying to break into his home. Police Chief Scott Reinbolt said the incident highlighted the flaws in the state’s mental health system, the Wilmington Journal News reports.
“Each time an officer checked the home and surrounding area and found no one about,” Reinbolt told the newspaper.
On the fourth call to police on April 6, a responding officer reported smelling marijuana inside the home.
“Dunn told the officer that he smokes marijuana to help calm his nerves, then volunteered that he also grows it inside the house for his personal use, asserting his belief that growing marijuana under such circumstances is legal in Ohio,” Reinbolt said. “In a bedroom of the residence the officer found several small, potted marijuana plants. The plants were seized … Contrary to Dunn’s assertion, growing marijuana, even for personal use, remains illegal in Ohio.”
Reinbolt said it was unfortunate that Dunn was released from a mental health hospital within 24 hours.
“It would appear to me that Mr. Dunn is in need of some sort of psychiatric treatment,” Reinbolt said.
Reinbolt noted that Ohio has closed most of its inpatient mental health facilities during the past few decades, leaving few options for those who need help.
“Unfortunately, I am convinced that doing so has left individuals like Mr. Dunn without the care and treatment they need and deserve,” he said.
