Queen Elizabeth desperate for ‘hurtful’ Megxit to be ‘over and done with’
Queen Elizabeth II is so hurt by Megxit, she hates it being brought up — and “just wants it over and done with,” according to a report.
“She generally doesn’t want to talk about it,” a source close to the Queen told Vanity Fair, insisting she takes it personally that grandson Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, quit royal duties.
“The Queen has been keen to get this resolved because she sees it is damaging to the monarchy, and on a personal level, I think this has been rather hurtful for her.
“She has got to the point where she doesn’t want to think about it anymore, she just wants it over and done with,” the source told the magazine.
While keeping open the door for their return, the Queen had to be firm in banning the couple from potentially exploiting their connection to the monarchy, banning the use of “Sussex Royal,” the mag was told.
“When something … is required in defense of the dynasty, she does what’s necessary,” former courtier Patrick Jephson told Vanity Fair. “People are reassured when she acts to protect the monarchy.”
Her decisiveness with Megxit — along with dumping Prince Andrew from royal duties over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein — show that the Queen is “fully engaged in her role,” royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told Vanity Fair.
“For all the travails of last year and the early months of 2020, she continues to maintain her enviable serenity and carries out her duties in her unflappable fashion,” Smith said.
“Of course these family crises have been challenging, vexing, and sad. But in removing Andrew from his public duties and negotiating the tricky departure of Harry and Meghan from royal life, the Queen was decisive and sure-footed.”

Meghan Markle’s first gig will be reality-TV show about second weddings
Meghan Markle‘s first post-Royal TV gig — albeit part-time — will be a Canadian reality show about second weddings, The Post has learned.
Markle, 38, will make multiple appearances on “I Do, Redo,” joining her best friend, Toronto wedding stylist Jessica Mulroney, who is the star of the upcoming Netflix show, according to a source close to the production team.
Her guest spots will be “sporadic,” according to the source, who would not say if Markle will be paid.
Union scale for a guest role on Canadian TV is $588 a day, which could jump-start the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ newly announced effort to become “financially independent.”
The 10-part series “revisits first-time wedding disasters before re-making the wedding dreams of 10 devoted couples,” according to a press release.
Markle — once divorced, and now married to her own prince — certainly has the resume to help brides remarry their Prince Charmings in the weddings of their dreams.
It was only two years ago when the American princess celebrated her own version of “I Do, Redo” with a lavish celebrity-studded ceremony and series of parties in Britain, which cost more than $42 million. Her wedding dress was designed by Givenchy, and her custom-made engagement ring was made from a diamond sourced from Botswana and two smaller stones from Harry’s mother’s — Princess Diana’s — collection.
Mulroney, 39, shot to international celebrity as Markle’s matron of honor, posing for the world’s cameras in a snug, royal blue dress by Canadian designer Antoinette Di Carlo. Her three young children also participated in the royal wedding party.
After frequent appearances on “Good Morning America,” where she gives advice on how to dress on a budget, Mulroney was tapped to star in the reality show, which features couples in the US and Canada.
Markle, who has been living in a billionaire’s mansion in Vancouver with infant son Archie since her dramatic split from the British royals in January, is currently shopping for a Hollywood agent, according to reports last week. Prince Harry recently moved to Canada to join his wife and son.
Last month, Markle signed a deal with Disney to do voice-over work on an unspecified project in exchange for a donation to an elephant charity she supports.
Few details have emerged about the wedding series, although Mulroney has posted some outtakes showing her traveling with a film crew, with stops in Florida and Connecticut as well as the Caribbean to her Instagram account.
“I am so blessed that I can show the world a side of myself that truly inspires me,” said Mulroney in a social media post after the show was announced last year. “A side of the wedding industry that has never been shown on television.”
Mulroney is married to the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and met Markle while the former actress was based in Toronto to film “Suits,” where she starred as Rachel Zane, a paralegal in a law firm.
Mulroney recently angered fans of Markle’s sister-in-law Kate Middleton when she appeared to dismiss photo portraits that Middleton had taken of British Holocaust survivors.
“Pretty pictures are pretty pictures,” wrote Mulroney on social media just as Middleton posted her photos for International Holocaust Remembrance Day last week. “Strive to use your platform for good and spread stories of incredible people striving to make this world a better place.”
The brutal backlash from Middleton fans on social media prompted Mulroney’s husband, Ben, to defend her online, saying that his wife’s post was linked to a campaign to help victims of flight 752, which was shot down in Iran last month.
Repeated calls and emails to the Toronto offices of Insight Productions and Matador Content in Manhattan, which are involved in the production of the series were not returned last week.
A Toronto-based publicist who is working on Mulroney’s show refused comment on Markle Friday, but said that filming on “I Do, Redo” is still not complete, and that no date had been set for its premiere. Saturday afternoon, the Canadian network, CTV Communications, tweeted out a statement saying “The Duchess of Sussex does not appear in upcoming @CTV series I do Redo.”
The 30-minute episodes will be streamed internationally on Netflix, which is co-producing the show along with Canada’s Bell Media.

BBC host Danny Baker fired after comparing royal baby Archie to a chimp
One of Britain’s best-known broadcasters was fired by the BBC on Thursday for a tweet he wrote comparing the new royal baby to a chimp.
Danny Baker, 61, tweeted out a photo of a chimp in a suit holding hands with a smartly dressed couple, writing, “Royal baby leaves hospital.”
It sparked instant outrage because of the clear racist undertones against Duchess of Sussex Meghan, 37, whose mom, Doria Ragland, is African American.
Baker admitted it had been a “stupid unthinking gag” — but insisted it was an innocent dig at the royals that was being wildly misinterpreted.
“Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased,” he wrote. “Soon as those good enough to point out its possible connotations got in touch, down it came. And that’s it.”
He later called the backfired joke “grotesque” and “an enormous mistake,” sending a message to Harry and Meghan’s newborn Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, “Here’s to ya Archie, Sorry mate.”
His apologies were not enough, however, with him soon tweeting, “Just got fired.”
“This was a serious error of judgment,” insisted a BBC spokesman, saying the joke “goes against the values we as a station aim to embody.”
“Danny’s a brilliant broadcaster but will no longer be presenting a weekly show with us.”
Baker remained defiant, damning the call to fire him as a “masterclass of pompous faux-gravity”
“Took a tone that said I actually meant that ridiculous tweet and the BBC must uphold blah blah blah,” he added. “Literally threw me under the bus. Could hear the suits knees knocking.” He ended the message, “#F–kem.”
Royal baby Archie was born Monday, with proud parents Meghan and Prince Harry publicly debuting him Wednesday.

Uhhh, Meghan Markle’s Friend Claims She Forced Her Ex-Husband to Sign a “Pregnancy Contract”
One of Meghan Markle’s old “friends” has once again emerged to spill details on her life pre-royal family, and the newest claim—which we should all take with a thousands grains of salt—is that Meghan forced her ex-husband Trevor Engelson to sign a “pregnancy contract.”
What is a pregnancy contract, you ask? Well, according to Meghan’s former friend, the then-television star wanted to ensure that her husband would pay for a personal trainer and nutritionist throughout the duration of her pregnancy.
“It came up at a time when they were considering having a family, at some point in the near future,” the friend tells Daily Mail, adding that Meghan “wanted to make sure she would be camera-ready very quickly” and that “she demanded a personal trainer and nutritionist during and after the pregnancy.”
According to this person who’s clearly not at all bitter about not getting a wedding invite, Trevor ended up signing without lawyers involved: “She says she got him to sign something, maybe just a handwritten letter that she could hang over his head.”

Meghan Markle’s Half-Sister Continues to Be Messy—This Time, at the Gates of Kensington Palace
You know, there’s a word for folks who don’t take “no” for an answer, choosing instead to obsessively fixate on someone, even showing up uninvited at their residence.
Fun fact: That word is not “sister.”
According to the Daily Mail and the Mirror, Samantha Markle, the perpetually-messy, estranged half-sister of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, once again proved that the new royal was right to distance herself when she showed up at the gates of Kensington Palace over the weekend, reportedly planning to “confront” her famous sister about the treatment of their father, the equally questionable Thomas Markle.
Armed with a purportedly handwritten note (contents unknown), the 53-year-old Markle, who suffers from multiple sclerosis but nevertheless flew all the way to the United Kingdom to make a scene, was photographed attempting to leave said note with the palace guard, after arriving unannounced.
Access was denied, as reportedly was the attempted communication, but that didn’t stop the messiest Markle from achieving her desired photo ops. She and her unidentified companion (presumably boyfriend Mark Phillips) were then spotted buying royal-themed merchandise—including Meghan and Harry masks. We dare not even speculate on why.
This, of course, follows nearly a year of seeming harassment and media appearances by Samantha Markle (including a rumored stint on Celebrity Big Brother UK) since her celebrity sister announced her engagement to Prince Harry in fall of 2017—including rallying their father into making a media spectacle of himself, as well. After threatening to crash the royal wedding in May, and then claiming to have allegedly been involved in a paparazzi-induced car crash that she compared to Princess Diana’s, though police have said there is no evidence of such a crash, it seems safe to say Samantha Markle’s idea of family is dysfunctional, to say the least.
With this latest stunt, it seems Markle has escalated from half-sister to full stalker. As usual, the Duchess of Sussex has issued neither comment nor acknowledgment of this latest spectacle.
