Alexandra Shipp Talks About Storm’s Character In Interview
To think that in a little over 2 months the movie X-Men Apocalypse will be hitting theaters. With each passing day we’re getting a little more information each day. Recently actress Alexandra Shipp who will be playing Storm did an interview with Collider.com giving some details about her character.
Here’s one of the questions she answered in her interview:
Can you tell us a little bit about Storm? Or, this Storm, your Storm.
SHIPP: My Storm in particular is kind of a, well yeah, she’s the past derivative of Halle’s Storm. This Storm is a little bit different because you’re meeting her in Cairo. You’re seeing kind of a little bit of where she comes from. You’re seeing all the pain that she’s gone through. It’s not like she’s in the mansion having a great time. She’s so different from all of the other kids because they come from families. They come from some sort of love and support whereas Storm hasn’t had that since her parents died in that plane crash into the house when she was like 5.
It’s like, she’s kind of just all really messed up and the only mutants that she knows are bad mutants. The only mutants that she knows are the mutants who use their powers for stealing, or protecting thugs or whatever. It’s not like, “Oh, we’re going to save the planet”. It’s like, “Forget the planet, I need money so I’m going to distract you with some wind and then I’m going to pick pocket you.” She’s in survival mode so when she meets Apocalypse, she’s kind of like hit this revelation where she has been struggling to feel like she belongs somewhere.

Deadpool Movie Review
Yes I know I’m late with this but better late than never. As you all know the movie Deadpool was released to theaters this weekend, and the question you’re probably asking is the movie good? My answer, no it wasn’t good, IT WAS AMAZING!
When I say this movie delivered, it delivered! I can honestly say that Deadpool is the best comic book movie released so far. All of the elements that you would see in the comics you see in the movie. That means, gore, hilarity and also fourth wall breaking. Just like Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man, Ryan Reynolds is definitely Deadpool. He delivered the merc with the mouth’s characteristics perfectly and I can’t see anyone else doing this role.
All in all, my friend and I, and pretty much the rest of the theater enjoyed this movie, it’s a 10 out of 10 easy. I’ll definitely be waiting for the sequel!
However! Here is a definite disclaimer for parents thinking about taking their underage kids to see this movie. I don’t mean 15-16, I mean 9-10 years old. Parents, DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO SEE THIS MOVIE! This film is rated R for a good reason. We don’t have time for your 8 year old to be exposed to the all the violence and gore and nude scenes then having the audacity to complain about the movie you took YOUR child to see. Basically parents, don’t ruin this movie experience for everyone else over your poor decisions, take your kids to see Batman Vs Superman, Captain America, hell even X-Men Apocalypse, but not this movie.
As for the people who are old enough to see it without an adult, if you haven’t seen Deadpool see it now, like literally right now!

X-Men ’92 Comic Series To Return As On Going Series
Well there’s good news for Marvel fans. Today Marvel has announced that the comic series X-Men ’92 will be returning as an ongoing comic book series in Spring of 2016.
Earlier in the year, Marvel created the X-Men ’92, a Secret Wars miniseries. It had the look of the popular animated series X-Men: The Animated Series, which ran from 1992 to 1997. Chris Sims and Chad Bowers will continue to pen the series. It will be illustrated by Alti Firmansyah and David Nakayama will do the cover artwork.
Well Marvel will definitely be getting my money. I look forward to buying these, are you?
Plot of Apocalypse and first look at Cyclops, Jean Grey, Jubilee and Nightcrawler
Below is the plot of the new X-Men Apocalypse movie and shots of a young Cyclops, Jean Grey, Jubilee and Nightcrawler. Enjoy!
“As the new film opens, 10 years have passed and Raven (Lawrence), Charles (McAvoy), and Erik (Michael Fassbender) are still estranged, but not for much longer. The Big A awakens from his Egyptian tomb, sizes up the global ’80s vibe, and decides he’s not down with the Reagan era. “It’s a chaotic world of conflict and war and destruction,” Singer says. “It’s one giant civilization that now requires one giant culling. That’s why he needs special assistants in this process.” He finds teenage Storm living on the streets in Cairo, Angel (Ben Hardy) duking it out in a fight club in Berlin, and Psylocke (Olivia Munn) working behind the Iron Curtain for the mutant-broker Caliban. But his big get is Erik, who has been attempting to live a “normal” life in Poland. “He’s fallen in love and he’s basically left his metal ways behind,” Fassbender says. Pretty quickly, though, his world is shattered and “normal” is no longer an option. Says Fassbender, “Apocalypse finds Erik at a low ebb and recruits him.”
Miles away, meanwhile, Raven is on her own, helping rescue mutants who are oppressed or enslaved, including the teleport Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Raven knows nothing about Apocalypse, Lawrence says, but “she hears about what happened to Erik and she wants to seek him out and help him.” This instigates a reunion between Raven and Charles, who has seen his school for extraordinary students flourish. “He’s not teaching anybody how to fight at the moment,” McAvoy says. “He’s teaching people how to control their abilities so that they can work at a bank. But of course this movie challenges all of that.” When Apocalypse’s plot to reboot the world is made clear, the stage is set for an epic mutant vs. mutant war.”
Halle Berry wants to do a Solo Storm movie
With Wolverine about to get his 3rd solo movie and Gambit getting his first movie next year. It seems like Halle Berry wants to add Storm into the mix. Halle Berry has stated that she would love to do a solo Storm movie in the future, at least before she turns 65 she says.
My thoughts? While I would love a Storm solo movie I just don’t think Halle Berry would fit the role. A woman of African descent should play her seeing is how Storm is African.
I don’t know what’s Hollywood’s deal on casting lighter skinned women in these types of roles. The same could be said for Akexandra Shipp because I for one don’t know why she was cast as Storm for X-Men Apocalypse. Lupita Nyongo would’ve been perfect for this type of role but it seems like that’s just wishful thinking.
Let me know your opinions!
