Infinity War Crew Reveals Stone Responsible for Killing Half the Universe
It is a question that has bothered fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the shocking climax of Avengers: Infinity War, but it’s now been confirmed that the Power Stone was the one that wiped out half the galaxy.
The events of the Russo Brothers’ movie saw Josh Brolin’s Thanos head off in search of the six Infinity Stones with the end goal of bringing balance to the universe with a snap of his fingers.
f anyone had questioned which stone is the most powerful, Avengers: Infinity War artist VFX supervisor Dan DeLeeuw told Inverse, “The Power Stone was blipping them out of existence.”
Although it was hard to distinguish which of the Infinity Stones turned half the MCU (and even animals) to dust, DeLeeuw said his team put a lot of thought into how the iconic moment would happen. “All the Infinity Stones have their signature color and appearance as a visual effect,” he reminded audiences. “So the ‘blip out,’ we thought, ‘What would all the stones do to a person, blipping them out?’”
The stones may have been seen working in harmony to toss the Avengers out of the way as Thanos went for Vision, but it came down to just one being responsible for Thanos’ rebalancing. While some of DeLeeuw’s team championed the Reality Stone or the Soul Stone “because souls cease to exist, ” it was up to the Power Stone to deliver that killer blow.
DeLeeuw continued to explain how Infinity War settled on turning the characters to dust. “We had concept art combining all those things, and it was getting too busy. It became too complicated,” he confessed. “It was stepping on what the actors were doing. So it became ‘body turns to ash.’ We peeled away all those layers and focused on that one [Power Stone], deciding how quickly it would consume someone, what pattern it would consume them.”
Ironically, the Power Stone had the smallest role in the movie and had already been snatched from Xandar before the opening scene. That being said, the Power Stone’s ability to pull a moon out of orbit should’ve been a sign of the energy bubbling inside it.
At the end of the day, the likes of the Soul Stone and Time Stone couldn’t compete with the raw energy of the Power Stone. Fans may also remember the awesome power of the purple gem in Guardians of the Galaxy, so it makes sense that the Power Stone was the one that eradicated half of the universe.
A popular theory is that the Soul Stone could be the key to bringing back the fallen heroes, but if the Power Stone was behind Thanos’ snap, what does this mean for Avengers 4?

Ant-Man and The Wasp Review (Spoilers)
Well looks like the MCU has wrapped up their movies for the year with the latest being Ant-Man and The Wasp the sequel to 2015’s Ant-Man.
Let me start off by saying that Ant-Man and The Wasp is a definite tonal shift from Avengers: Infinity War. We went from dark and gloomy to happy and funny.
Paul Rudd once again was awesome and hilarious as Ant-Man. He plays the role of the underdog very well. Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly were also great as Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne. I loved Hank Pym’s sarcasm just as much as I did in the first one. Watching Lilly as The Wasp was absolutely fantastic and I loved all of her fight scenes from start to finish.
The two new comers, Ghost and Bill Foster stood out to me as well. Hannah John-Kamen did very well as Ghost. Ghost isn’t essentially the bad guy in this film, rather she’s just going by harsh means just to save her life. Laurence Fishburne as Ghost was very interesting especially seeing his rivalry with Hank Pym and his father daughter relationship with Ava.
Now here’s the twist that a lot of people didn’t see coming. During the midcredit scene Scott is sent into the Quantum Realm by Hank and Hope and Janet Van Dyne, Hanks wife and Hope’s mother some time after rescuing not only Janet, but also saving Ghost from death. During the scene Scott gathers some energy from the quantum realm but before he’s able to return, Hank, Hope, and Janet all turn to dust from the result of Thanos’ snap from Avengers: Infinity War leaving Lang stuck in the quantum realm. It’s a dark but great twist showing that anyone could be taken away by the snap.
Overall I really enjoyed this movie and it’s a great stress reliever from that which was Infinity War. On a scale of 1-10 I give it an 8. If you haven’t seen Ant-Man yet go out and see it as soon as possible!
Deadpool 2 Movie Review (SPOILERS)
I’m a little late with this one but better late than never. About a week ago I got the pleasure of seeing Deadpool 2 and I have to say, it did not disappoint!
As with the previous movie the comedy was on point as well as the action. Ryan Reynolds was pretty much born to play Deadpool. However it was his secret role as the Juggernaut that caught me off guard. Yes Juggernaut made a surprise appearance in this movie albeit a small role.
Josh Brolin as also making big moves with him not only playing Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but also Cable in the latest Deadpool movie. His cold demeanor along with him being opposite of Deadpool was really fun to watch and I’m looking forward to seeing more of Cable in an X-Force movie.
Now let’s get on to the beauty known as Zazie Beetz aka Domino. This woman was awesome to see on screen and while the power of luck might not seem like a big deal, it works wonders on the cinematic screen! I also look forward to seeing what she does for the character Domino in future X-Men movies as well as the tv series Atlanta.
One of the biggest teases that they did for Deadpool 2 was the belief that the X-Force was going to play a big part in the movie. We were proven all the way wrong as the died minutes after parachuting out of their plane and met gruesome ends. However seeing as how this is Deadpool he can break continuity and still have it make sense. I can assume that the rest of the. -Force is still alive and will be back in an X-Forcd movie.
In hindsight, while the movie is all over the place in Deadpool fashion, this plot is rather simple once again. Rescuing a boy from doing the wrong thing. The main objective of this movie was for Deadpool to stop a young Firefist from going down the wrong path and essentially causing Cable to go back in time to kill him.
In conclusion, Deadpool 2 is another great installment to the X-Men franchise and I look forward to more X-Men movies in the near future. If you haven’t seen it, see it as soon as possible!

Avengers: Infinity War Movie Review(SPOILERS)
In all honesty, I cannot talk about this movie without bringing spoilers into it. This past weekend I got the privilege to see Avengers: Infinity War not once but twice! I can honestly say that it was blown away both times I saw it.
For those that don’t know and don’t care about spoilers, Avengers: Infinity is the culmination and mega cross over of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Iron Man until now. In this new movie everyone must come together and stop the powerful Titan Thanos from getting all six infinity stones and wreaking havoc across the universe.
Let me just start off by saying that Josh Brolin, killed it as Thanos. That man was on level 100 from start to finish in his movie. In a sense this is essentially Thanos’ movie. He showed his ruthlessness by not only killing half of the Asguardians but killing Heimdall and Loki as well and making Thor watch. That’s how you know he meant business in this movie.
All of our here’s from Doctor Strange to Iron Man to Captain America to Black Panther all did great in this movie as well and stole the spotlight in their scenes.
The tone of this movie was very well balanced as the shift from humor to dark to sadness felt natural and not forced and it matched with whatever character was in the scene.
Now let’s talk team ups and action sequences. The action scenes in this movie make the fights in Civil War look tame. Every battle was top notch from Doctor Strange using his magic to counter against Ebony Maw’s telekinetic attacks, Team Iron Man using their strategic minds to get the edge on Thanos in Titan to the straight up brawl fest in Wakanda, there was no talk just action through out.
But as stated this movie did bring about several sad scenes and unexpected deaths. As stated before, while Loki’s death was somewhat predictable it was still sad nonetheless as with Thanos killing Gamora to get the soul stone. The one with the worst luck might have been Vision in my opinion. Being killed by the one you love only for Thanos to reverse time and do it himself is down right horrible. Also with Thanos getting all six stone and snapping his fingers, his plan was complete. All those who died with his snap were Bucky Barnes, Black Panther, Falcon, Starlord, Drax, Mantis, Scarlett Witch, Groot, Spider-Man, Maria Hill, and Nick Fury.
Things look extremely bleak going into Avengers 4 next year but from what it looks like, this will be the last hoorah for the original MCU Avengers before the new heroes take over. Let’s see how hey manage tofix the mess that Thanos has caused.
Avengers: Infinity War, if you haven’t seen it, I suggest you go as soon as possible, those 10 years were worth the wait for this movie. It’s a definite solid 10 out of 10 for me, let me know what you think!
