Kim & Kanye Get Presidential Welcome in Uganda
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are apparently making this a thing … meeting with heads of states.
Kimye met with the President of Uganda Yoweri K. Museveni Monday during their trip to Africa. The President tweeted, “I welcome American entertainment stars Kanye West and @KimKardashian to Uganda. I held fruitful discussions with the duo on how to promote Uganda’s tourism and the arts.”
The Prez went on … “I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers. Enjoy your time in Uganda. It is the true pearl of Africa.”
This meeting, of course, comes on the heels of Kanye’s meeting in the Oval with President Trump … where the American Prez also scored a pair of Yeezys.
As we’ve reported … Kanye’s in Africa working on his next album. Big Sean‘s there too. They’ll be producing music and shooting some videos during the trip.
And, while it seems like strictly business for Ye, he’s brought North and Kim along for the trip too.

Kanye West returns to Twitter with a ‘mind control’ rant after one-week hiatus
Kanye West’s break from social media lasted all of seven days.
After a bizarre week that included a highly publicized meeting with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office and a spontaneous trip to Uganda, West returned to Twitter to talk “mind control.”
The controversial rapper opted out of social media last week after catching heat for an equally peculiar pro-Trump rant following his appearance on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live.”
In a series of Twitter videos shared Saturday, West gave his unfiltered thoughts on the negative effects of social media in a nine-minute live video of him talking directly to the camera.
“I just want to talk about mind control,” West began. “You know, when people try to influence you through social media and try to tell you what to do, or if you post something that’s, like, positive on Instagram, it gets taken down if it’s not a part of a bigger agenda.”
He continued: “That’s like mind control. That’s the echo chamber. That’s trying to control you based off of incentivizing you and based off of you getting enough likes. That’s the poison that’s happening with social media.”
West discussed his self-proclaimed genius-level IQ score (“Straight up Sigmund Freud, Tesla vibes”), his dislike of people telling him what to do (“Feel like they’re touching my brain”) and compared the policing of his thoughts to a woman’s right to consent (“She wants to be in control of her body and choose who she wants to give it to. … I feel like that with my mind”).
“Imagine you, like, cut your skull open and somebody like touched your brain with their hand, how that would hurt you,” West asked. “That’s how it hurts me when people try to tell me what to do when I’m going from my heart. Try to tell me what to say. This ain’t programmed.”

Charlamagne Tha God Announces Mental Health Conversation With Kanye West
New York, NY – In light of Kanye West’s most recent antics — which include a pro-Trump rant following his appearance on Saturday Night Live and a poorly conveyed message about abolishing the 13th amendment — Charlamagne Tha God has announced another sit-down conversation with YE.
The conversation is scheduled for October 17 at The Town Hall in New York City.
Charlamagne made the announcement on Instagram.
“Join me for a @timestalks with @kanyewest about Anxiety, Therapy, PTSD and all the other Mental Health stuff we don’t discuss enough,” he captioned the photo. “Also discussing my new book #ShookOne “Anxiety Playing Tricks On Me” moderated by @joncaramanica of the @nytimes. Buy tickets before they’re gone link in my bio!!!”
Over the past week, YE has caused a flurry of controversy. On Monday (October 1), he pushed the Yandhi album release date to November 23, which also outraged his fans. He had originally promised the album would arrive on September 29, the same night of his SNL performance.
Kanye told TMZ he was heading to Africa with his “alien YE” alter ego to finish the album.
Tickets for Charlamagne’s conversation with Kanye are available here.

Kanye West’s first Adidas Yeezy basketball shoe would be banned, sources say
Kanye West is expected to debut his first-ever Yeezy basketball sneaker on the feet of Adidas athletes during the upcoming NBA season. But the league office would ban the current version of the sneaker on court because of its gleaming, reflective-material heel, according to industry sources.
While the monochromatic sneakers won’t violate the league’s footwear color restrictions, the issue is the reflective “3M” heel panel, which the NBA would find potentially distracting for both in-arena spectators and television viewers.
Carmelo Anthony faced a similar issue with the metallic chrome heel of his Jordan M10 signature sneakers while playing for the New York Knicks. He later wore an updated version with a matte paint finish.
Players are no longer required to wear shoes matching their team’s uniform colors, but the league still has an approval process for new silhouettes from brands in advance of the season.
According to Christopher Arena, the NBA’s vice president of identity, outfitting and equipment, companies will typically submit sneakers for the first half of the season by early August, with shoes scheduled to be worn after the All-Star break required for approval by early December.
While the league office has yet to receive and formally review the new Yeezy basketball shoe in person, the version shared online by West would not be permitted on court as is, according to a source. Alternative versions of the sneaker that don’t incorporate the reflective material would likely be approved.
The league has banned or issued warnings for several sneakers in its history, most famously Michael Jordan‘s black and red Nike Air Jordan 1 sneaker in 1985. Nike almost instantly turned the buzz around the Bulls star’s banished debut sneakers into a marketing campaign, vaulting the signature series into rare air and sparking the dawn of collectible-sneaker culture. Three decades later, the Jordan Brand has become its own fully fledged subsidiary of the Nike Inc. company, with annual revenues topping $3 billion.
In a recent post on his @KanyeWest Instagram, the Chicago native explained that his Yeezy basketball shoe has been in development for over three years and undergone nearly 300 sample updates.
The new model is expected to finally make its much-anticipated debut during the 2018-19 season, with Adidas non-signature athletes like Donovan Mitchell, Brandon Ingram, John Wall, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Nick Young potentially wearing the shoe in early 2019. Retail release dates and a finalized price point have yet to be determined.
Earlier Monday, during an interview with paparazzi in Los Angeles, West discussed his long-term vision for his collaborative brand with Adidas and his eventual goal to bring the manufacturing of his sneaker line stateside.
“The Yeezys will be made in America,” he said. “We’re putting a factory in Chicago.”

Kenan Thompson: Kanye West held ‘SNL’ cast ‘hostage’ during Trump rant
Kenan Thompson‘s 16th season on “Saturday Night Live” kicked off with something of a head scratch this weekend, thanks in part to Kanye West’s closing, pro-Trump comments.
“He voiced his opinion, very loudly, for a long time,” the comedian recalled on Monday’s episode of “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” “We’re all entitled to our opinion, but you know, I don’t know if that’s the moment, necessarily, to hold people hostage like that, but hey.”
Following the opening monologue, Thompson said he got to “watch the circus unfold” from afar, as West brought the cast on stage after his performance. Thompson, who preferred to watch the musical act on TV, was happy he stayed backstage.
“As soon as he said, ‘Hey, join me up on stage, everybody,’ I was like, ‘Oh, there goes the little cheese in the mousetrap.’ It’s going down,” Thompson said. “I felt so bad for those guys, because it’s hard to stand there and not be able to debate somebody who is going so far against your personal opinion, and just stand there and take it.”
He continued, “We are fair. We’re in a service business, we try to cater to the host, make sure they have a good show and what not, and then when musical guests come in and they’re a little bit crazy, maybe they’re a little bit crazy, we let them have that. But we don’t judge, we’re not there to judge.”
West received a flurry of boos inside Studio 8H in response to his rant supporting President Trump.
“There are so many times I talk to like a white person about this and they say, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago,” West said.
While Trump, 70, applauded West’s remarks and slammed “SNL,” the Yeezy mastermind later called for the abolition of the 13th Amendment before clarifying his remarks.
“Not abolish but. let’s amend the 13th amendment,” West tweeted Sunday. “We apply everyone’s opinions to our platform.”

Kanye West wants Donald Trump and Colin Kaepernick to meet, talk ‘until the conversation turns to love’
Kanye West, who has remained defiant amid backlash over his support for President Donald Trump, said that he reached out to Colin Kaepernick to try to arrange a meeting between the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and the president, saying, “we keep having the conversation until the conversation turns to love.”
“I’ve been calling Colin this morning, reaching him, so I can bring Colin to the White House and we can remove that s— of b—— statement and we can be on the same page,” the rapper, donning a “Make America Great Again” hat, told TMZ on Monday.
At a campaign rally in Alabama on Sept. 22, 2017, Trump ignited a feud with the National Football League and players who take a knee during the National Anthem to protest racism, where he called on NFL owners to fire them, suggesting they say “get that s– of a b—- off the field! He’s fired, he’s fired!”
During a visit to The Fader offices on Thursday, West was spotted sporting the red Trump “MAGA” hat with a Kaepernick sweatshirt.
Kaepernick, who was the first to take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem in 2016 to protest racism and police brutality, and others who followed suit have been at the center of Trump’s ongoing fight with the league.
“We never give up on anyone,” the rapper told TMZ. “Let me even make that more positive, we move forward, we give love, we keeping going, we keep having the conversation until the conversation turns to love.”

After the show was over, Kanye continued to walk the stage with his mike and presented a rambling, conspiracy-laced defense of his controversial support for President Donald Trump as some in the audience booed.

Lana Del Rey confronts Kanye: “Your support of [Trump] is a loss for the culture”
Del Rey played Kanye and Kim Kardashian-West’s wedding
Kanye’s latest bit of ill-informed nonsense has drawn the ire of SNL, Captain America’s Chris Evans, and now Lana Del Rey.
In defending his decision to wear a MAGA hat on SNL, Kanye wrote: “This represents good and America becoming whole again. We will no longer outsource to other countries. We build factories here in America and create jobs.” He went on to advocate for the abolishment of the 13th amendment — a.k.a. the amendment that ended slavery.
Del Rey, who played Kanye and Kim Kardashian-West’s wedding, took Kanye to task in the comments’ section of a recent Instagram post. “Trump becoming our president was a loss for our country but your support of him is a loss for the culture,” Del Rey wrote.
“I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level,” she added. “Delusions of Grandeur, extreme issues with narcissism — none of which would be a talking point if we weren’t speaking about the man leading our country.”
“If you think it’s alright to support someone who believe it’s OK to grab a woman by the pussy just because he’s famous — then you need an intervention as much as he does — something so many narcissists will never get because there just isn’t enough help for the issue,” Del Rey concluded.
Previously, Del Rey encouraged her fans to cast a witch spell on Trump. If Kanye isn’t careful, he himself could be subjected to Del Rey’s black magic.
