US rapper Kanye West to pay college tuition for George Floyd’s daughter
US rapper Kanye West on Thursday pledged to set up a college fund for the daughter of George Floyd, the African American who died at the hands of police.
Floyd’s longtime friend and former NBA (National Basketball Association) star Stephen Jackson shared a touching video this week on Instagram of Floyd’s daughter Gianna being carried on her uncle’s shoulders, smiling, and saying, “Daddy changed the world.”
According to CNN, father-of-four, West, has also donated $2 million toward helping fund the families and legal teams contesting the deaths of African Americans Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, and supporting black-owned businesses in crisis in his native Chicago and other cities.
Over recent days, the streets of New York, Los Angeles, London, Toronto, Paris, and more have witnessed celebrities and influencers standing together in solidarity with black communities.
Meanwhile, other stars, such as 42-year-old West, have taken to their social media platforms to demand justice and draw attention to various organizations which help low-income protesters pay bail, or donation pages that directly benefit the family members of victims.
Earlier this week, Iraqi-American beauty entrepreneur Huda Kattan and actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds donated a hefty sum amid the #BlackLivesMatter protests.

Kanye West’s High School Art Valued At Thousands Of Dollars On ‘Antiques Roadshow’
Just a few of the pieces, all created when the rapper attended Polaris High School in Chicago, were appraised at a total of $16,000 to $23,000.
Your high school art projects? Worth about $1. Kanye West’s high school art projects? Worth thousands.
Artwork created by the rapper back when he attended Polaris High School in Chicago was appraised at $16,000 to $23,000 on an “Antiques Roadshow” episode that aired this week.
In April 2019, West’s first cousin’s husband brought a large collection of West’s work for collectibles expert Laura Woolley to appraise during a taping of the PBS series at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona.
“My husband is Kanye West’s first cousin. When Kanye’s mother passed away in 2007, my husband received them as part of the estate about a year after she passed,” he explained while standing beside only a small part of the collection.
The five works highlighted included pieces done with graphite, gouache and scratchboard techniques. The collection also featured a flyer for West’s first known art showing from 1995.

“This flyer is really interesting because it gives the full background of his entire artistic training up until that point,” says Woolley in the clip above. “I have to say he has a very impressive resume having attended the Hyde Park Art Academy at age 4, the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago State University [and] Nanjing University in the People’s Republic of China.”
Woolley then notes that by age 17, when West was at the Polaris School, he had “already been studying at these extraordinary artistic institutions, and my favorite part of this flyer is actually the very end” ― where there’s a passing reference to his work in music “as well.”
West’s cousin-in-law explains that the star’s late mother, Donda West, was the reason he was so well-trained.
“She traveled all around the world and he went everywhere with her,” the cousin-in-law says, adding: “His mother pushed him to do anything that he wanted to do and made sure that it was available for him.”
Woolley offered a measured appraisal, telling West’s cousin-in-law that while the rapper is “a controversial figure with his opinions and his career, I don’t think anyone can deny the fact that he has extraordinary talent and I think that, in time, I would expect these to continue to appreciate.”

“To have early pieces like this from someone who really will be an important cultural figure of our time I think is really fantastic,” she says.
Woolley valued the largest piece at about $6,000 to $8,000 and other smaller works ranging from $2,000 to $7,000 each.
“Altogether, just for this grouping, $16,000 to $23,000 at auction,” she says.

Twitter Goes CR@ZY After Kanye West Revealed He’s Team Trump+Donald Trump Speaks out
Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian West break silence about leaked video
Taylor Swift sounds like she feels vindicated while Kim Kardashian West just sounds over it.
The pair are back at it in terms of a very famous phone call which has reignited the choosing of Team Tay vs. Team Kim and Kanye.
Kim Kardashian PROVES that Taylor Swift lied on Kanye~The internet goes CRAZY part 1
A leaked video made the rounds on social media this past weekend which claims to be the full recorded phone conversation between Swift and Kanye West regarding his controversial lines about her in his 2016 song “Famous.”
CNN has not authenticated the video, a snippet of which Kardashian West had posted on Snapchat in 2016 in defense of her husband. On Monday Swift took to her Instagram stories to react to all the renewed interest in the beef between her and the Wests.
“Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about video footage that was leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about *that call* (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family, and fans through hell for 4 years),” the singer wrote. “Swipe up to see what really matters.”
Swiping up led her followers to a donation page for the organization Feeding America. In the next Instagram story Swift wrote that she has been donating to Feeding America and the World Health Organization during the coronavirus pandemic.
“If you have the ability to, please join me in donating during this crisis,” the star wrote. Kardashian West struck back hours later on Twitter.
“. @taylorswift13 has chosen to reignite an old exchange – that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now,” the beauty mogul tweeted. Many Swift supporters believe the newly leaked 25 minute long video proves the singer was telling the truth about not signing off on West rapping the lyrics “To all my southside n****s that know me best/I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that b**** famous.”
Kardashian West became an integral part of the beef between her husband and Swift when in 2016 she released a Snapchat video meant to rebut Swift’s claim that she hadn’t heard the song and had not given her approval. “I don’t want to do rap that makes people feel bad.” West could be heard saying to Swift on the phone in his wife’s Snapchat video. “Umm, yeah I mean go with whatever line you think is better,” Swift responds. “It’s obviously very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice.”
The backlash against Swift after the Snapchat video was released gave birth to the “Taylor Swift is a snake” movement on social media and the singer has said it contributed to her withdrawing into herself and channeling her hurt into her 2017 album “Reputation.” In the 25-minute long leaked video of the phone conversation West can be heard trying to get Swift to tweet his song to her massive following once it is released.
He also explains that it contains a controversial lyric about her and Swift asks if it is “mean. “He hedges a bit before he tells her he wants to say “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.” There is no mention by him of using the word “b***h.”
Swift laughs a bit.
Kim Kardashian PROVES that Taylor Swift lied on Kanye PART 2~TMZ says Taylor may pursue legal action
“I’m glad it’s not mean though. It doesn’t feel mean, but like, oh my God, the buildup you gave it,” Swift is heard saying. “I thought it was gonna be like, ‘that stupid dumb b***h’ but it’s not.”
Swift tells West she needs to “think about it” and he tells her he will send her the song, something her camp has consistently said did not happen.
Kardashian West tweeted Monday that she “didn’t feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I’m actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now, but because she continues to speak on it, I feel I’m left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying.”
“To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that “Kanye never called to ask for permission…”,” Kardashian West tweeted. “They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word “b***h” was used without her permission.”
“At the time when they spoke the song had not been fully written yet, but as everyone can see in the video, she manipulated the truth of their actual conversation in her statement when her team said she ‘declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message,” she also tweeted. “The lie was never about the word b***h, It was always whether there was a call or not and the tone of the conversation.” That caused Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, to tweet a response.
“I’m Taylor’s publicist and this is my UNEDITED original statement,” Paine tweeted. “Btw, when you take parts out, that’s editing. P.S. who did you guys piss off to leak that video?”In another series of tweets Kardashian West denied editing the clip she posted, defended her husband’s “right to document his musical journey and process, just like [Swift] recently did through her documentary [Miss Americana]” and stated “the call between the two of them would have remained private or would have gone in the trash had she not lied & forced me to defend him.”
“This will be the last time I speak on this because honestly, nobody cares,” Kardashian West ended her Twitter thread. “Sorry to bore you all with this. I know you are all dealing with more serious and important matters.”
A rep for Kardashian West declined to offer further comment when reached by CNN. CNN has also reached out to reps for Swift and West.

Kanye West Says He’s Running for President in 2024, Along With an Unlikely Competitor
Kanye West, the husband of Kim Kardashian West and a highly-successful rapper, has a knack for grabbing headlines whether that’s from his outlandish behavior or his decision to wear a MAGA hat, a nod to support for President Donald Trump. Just recently, the musical artist considered changing his name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West, citing a religious awakening that has been reflected in the newest music he’s released, if that’s any indication of the volatility he’s capable of. So, given his seemingly impulsive behavior, many are wondering if he still plans on running for president in 2024 after be claimed he would several years ago. If so, he might have some unlikely competition.
West first announced that he would be running for president in 2024 during an interview he had with Vanity Fair. And for the rapper, he was being completely serious. “I didn’t approach that because I thought it would be fun… No, the exact opposite,” he said. “I sit in clubs and I’m like, wow, I’ve got five years before I go and run for office and I’ve got a lot of research to do, I’ve got a lot of growing up to do.”
The jury is still out on if West was able to do a ‘lot of growing up’ but the rapper did double down in an interview in November of 2019 stating, “When I run for president in 2024, we’re gonna definitely…” For West, though, no one in attendance took him seriously and laughter erupted throughout the room. He would go on to set the record straight for those who were doubting him, though.
West Double Downs on Statement to Run
After the laughter had subsided over Kanye’s comments about running for president in 2024, he became very solemn and serious, asking the crowd, “No, what y’all laughing at? Again, the audience burst out in laughter, as if West was filming a standup special and was simply going along with one of his jokes.
But remaining serious, the rapper looked the audience dead in the face and stated, “When I run for president in 2024, we would’ve created so many jobs that I’m not gonna run I’m gonna walk.” So, from the look for things, West is seriously going to run for president, come the 2024 election, at least as of now.
Akon Considering a 2024 Presidental Run Amid Philanthropy Efforts
If Kanye does, in fact, plan to run, which is very possible, he may have an unlikely competitor in fellow rapper, Akon, who has also said he is considering a run for the highest office in the country. This would likely be bad news for West as Akon has many of the experiences and qualities that seem to be absent from Kanye’s resume.
Specifically, Akon, who doesn’t do much rapping these days, has been heavily involved in multiple philanthropies over the years in Africa. He’s even developed his own cryptocurrency, called the AKoin, which can be used in various countries throughout Africa as a stable currency in the midst of the ever-changing regimes and governmental entities. Some people have stated that Akon has done more for Africa in one year’s time than charities have done in many years, altogether.
Akon’s Experience with Philanthropy and Business Development
Akon also got a chance to speak with Vanity Fair, and appropriately, was asked about running for president in 2024, given his past experiences with philanthropy, building businesses, and ultimately, living the American Dream.
The Soul Survivor artist responded in a way that is sure to attract some voters, should he pursue the presidential election in 2024. “I think if you’re going to run for office, you are serving. And I think that’s a little bit different from a job,” he said. “I’ve kind of experienced everything that a U.S citizen can experience – being an entrepreneur, understanding growth and building companies.”
“I can also say the same thing from a business level and then from a political standpoint. I’ve been, literally, advising presidents from everywhere. I mean, like over 15, you know, countries in Africa – all throughout the world.”

Why Kanye West Once Thought It Would Be ‘Uncool’ To Marry Kim Kardashian
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have, against all odds, become one of the most successful couples in entertainment. They have withstood numerous scandals and controversies and welcomed four children, building a family that is happy, healthy, and thriving.
It seems unlikely that there was once a time when West had second thoughts about marrying Kardashian. But according to a recent interview, he thought, at one time, that it would damage his image to tie the knot with the famous reality star.
Keep reading to learn about their relationship, how long they have been married, and what Kanye West recently said about their marriage.
How long have Kim Kardashian and Kanye West known each other?
Long before Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered on television, Kardashian met aspiring musician West. In a later interview, Kardashian opened up about the first time that she met West, admitting that it was in 2002 or 2003, on the set of a music video that West was making with Brandy.
Kardashian revealed that West didn’t exactly know how to pronounce her last name but that they remained friends in the years that followed that initial meeting. West even made some appearances on early episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
In 2012, after Kardashian’s ill-fated marriage to Kris Humphries had already dissolved, West and Kardashian reconnected. They discovered that they had a lot in common and started dating. While many thought that the relationship could be a rebound or a short-lived fling, they stuck it out and got engaged in late 2013, after welcoming their first daughter: North West.
How long has Kanye West been married?
Following West’s elaborate proposal to Kardashian in October 2013, all thoughts turned to how the couple would ultimately tie the knot. Befitting their superstar status, West and Kardashian planned a fairytale wedding in Florence, Italy.
Their wedding ceremony in May 2014 was not filmed for the family’s reality show, unlike Kardashian’s previous wedding. This perhaps indicated that this was a couple who understood the importance of privacy.
In the five years since their wedding, West and Kardashian have welcomed three more children in addition to their daughter North. They have proven to be each other’s biggest supporters, and no matter what hot water West manages to land himself in, he can always count on his wife to support and defend his right to think and do as he wants.
What did Kanye West say recently about his marriage?
In late October, West made an appearance on James Corden’s Late Late Show, and in addition to leading some fans in a rousing rendition of “Airpool Karaoke,” West talked about his marriage to Kardashian. He explained that after experiencing “five beautiful years of marriage” with Kardashian, he believes that “marriage years are different than human years.” West explained that, to him, every year of normal human time is like “100 marriage years” so that instead of being married five years, he feels as though he’s been married for “500 years.”
He also revealed that initially, he thought that he would lose some of his status as a cultural icon if he was to marry Kardashian, stating that he believed he would be viewed as “uncool.” West said that he ultimately changed his mind, and then Corden chimed in, saying that: “everybody thought it would be cool to marry Kim Kardashian.”
West also couldn’t lose the opportunity to take a dig at Kardashian’s ex, Kris Humphries, following up Corden’s statement with “not Kris Humphries.”
