Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea’s Rental Home Burglarized, Thieves Take Over $350,000 in Jewelry
Article via XXLMag
A home in the Buckhead section of Atlanta rented by Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea was recently burglarized and thieves made off with a substantial amount of jewelry.
The incident occurred on Nov. 14, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution. However, it was not reported until Nov. 17. Iggy told authorities she believes she was in the house when the whole thing happened. During the time, she reported she was on the first floor and heard suspicious footsteps on the level above her. She initially believed the footsteps where her boyfriend Playboi Carti, because she had left a back door of the home unlocked so he could enter.
At some point, both artists noticed that some their items were missing and realized what happened. Footage of the intruder was captured on the home’s surveillance camera, which was turned over to authorities for evidence. According to the report, it shows someone with a gun wearing gloves and a dark mask entering the home via the unlocked door and exiting about 10 minutes later. In all, 19 pieces of jewelry were reportedly stolen. The items value at $366,000.
Iggy and Carti have been together for over a year now, after first sparking dating rumors last September. In January, they were rumored to have broken up but Carti deaded the speculation. Iggy is currently prepping the release of her new EP, Wicked Lips. Carti is working on his highly-anticipated new album, Whole Lotta Red. Last month, he teased fans with the release but failed to drop the project leaving supporters upset.
XXL has reached out to Carti and Iggy’s team for comment.

Iggy Azalea shares controversial view of cultural appropriation, response to nude photo hack
Iggy Azalea is back, and she’s just as controversial as ever.
The 29-year-old Australian rapper, who made a splash on the music scene five years ago with her mega-hit “Fancy,” sat down with Cosmopolitan to discuss how her life has changed in recent years.
In the wide-ranging interview, Azalea reflected on past backlash she’s received for things like her look, which some have deemed an appropriation of black culture, and racist tweets that resurfaced during her run in the limelight. While she didn’t address the tweets head-on, she did respond to claims of cultural appropriation.
In true Azalea style, her thoughts were controversial. She said cultural appropriation is subjective and she isn’t that sorry for her past behavior.
“You could ask one person of the same race, ‘Does this affect you?’ and they will say yes,” she said. “But another person will say no. They could be from the same place, same everything, but have different perspectives about it.”
She added: “I’m still going to make the same type of music and still be ridiculous and larger than life,” she said. “So I can’t be that (expletive) sorry about it.”
Azalea also reflected on when she went to a mental health retreat in Arizona, imposed on her by her management team.
“They just didn’t want me to (expletive) up my own life, basically,” she said, noting she needed a break from the chaos. “I just couldn’t get out of functioning at this insanity level. Where you’re like, ‘Whoa, hold on, don’t operate the vehicle.’ ”
Azalea also spoke out when outtakes from her GQ Australia shoot were stolen earlier this summer. The leaked images showed her naked and were shared online, she said. She posted on social media about her frustrations, but she told Cosmopolitan many people didn’t relate to her response because she’s done racy shoots in the past.
“That’s the problem with you understanding consent,” she said. “When somebody else chooses for me, that’s not consensual.”
In July, Azalea’s second album finally arrived, without a high-charting lead single or the momentum of her debut. The title of her sophomore release, “In My Defense,” reads like a response to the years of delays and drama that preceded it.

Iggy Azalea is suiting up for her big comeback as she’s readying her forthcoming album In My Defense. The Australian rapper has released two singles in the past few months, “Sallie Walker” and “Started,” however, she was hit was a curveball after her topless photos leaked online. The 29-year-old artist took a break from social media and has learned not to let a deterrent stop her shine, but to get to the place where she isn’t off-put by challenges is a journey she’s still traveling.
In a recent The RuPaul Show interview, Iggy admitted that she’s taken some time for self-reflection at a wellness retreat. Think of it as Iyanla fixing your life, just without Iylana. And in the desert. “I did, I don’t know what you would call it,” Iggy said. “An intense workshop yourself? In Arizona. I went away and just one-on-one talked to people…there were people around me who I worked with that were like, ‘We love you but we think that you self-sabotage yourself.'”
“And I was kinda pissed about it, even though I knew it was true,” she continued. “I knew that it was true but I think a lot of it was because I was bullied a lot in high school. I got made fun of because I always was very ridiculous and over the top, and so it was hard for me in my adult life to kind of be able to tell the difference between somebody being critical and constructive and somebody bullying. I couldn’t really…I had the same response to both those things.” She also said that she’s embraced muting and blocking people who come at her with negative comments, but she’s learning how to accept and apply healthy criticisms.

Azealia Banks Drags Iggy Azalea, Predicts Career Foreclosure
Azealia Banks isn’t done dragging the cat across America.
It all started when Azealia accusing Iggy of stealing her namesake, claims that were proven untrue to some degree, the further you look into their shared timeline. Be that as it may, Azalea’s disdain for Iggy is viewed as the “silver lining” among her many fault lines or hiccups.
Her most recent criticism of Iggy comes as the Naturalized-American has entered a promotional partnership with a dietary product that supposedly helps men and women reduce stomach inflammation. Iggy jumped on Instagram this week to promote the “Flat Tummy Tea” product, which incurred a livid response from Azealia, who if memories serves her right, was once the recipient of a mocking tongue-lashing for her Cheapy XO line of soap products. As you’ll see below, Azealia used the “cheap shot” as a reference point in her most recent attack.
“Awww, iggy is Broke,” Banks wrote over a screenshot of Iggy’s promotional ad. “I remember when I had to do flat tummy tea ads for a little weave money. Those were rough times. And she had the nerve to make fun of my soap. Yikes.”
But Banks wasn’t done just yet.
“Never hating on a girl’s hustle, but I predict she will be moving back in with her parents in Australia soon,” she continued. “@thenewclassic, I can throw you a bone and pay you to promote the Kangaroo Jane shampoo bar if you are interested.”
