IT Chapter Two Review (Spoilers)
Pennywise will probably go down as one of the most famous horror movie icons of all time. Following the release of the first IT back in 2017 we now have the second and final part; IT Chapter 2 which takes place 27 years after the Loser’s first encounter with Pennywise otherwise known as IT.
Let me first say that as far as casting goes, the adult actors were spot on in maintaining the characteristics from their younger counterparts. The stand outs to me were Bill Hader as Richie, James Ransone as Eddie and Isaiah Mustafah as Mike. All three did fantastic performances! I also can’t forget Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise who once again does an amazing job!
The movie over all has a good balance of horror, drama and comedy. Specifically like in the dinner scene when they’re all reminiscing about their childhood only for it to turn into a nightmare when their fortune cookies release horrifying monsters. Or when each of the losers encounters Pennywise while on their solo journey to remember all of their child hood. Everything from Richies slick comments to Eddie’s fears of getting sick.
The scares were definitely interesting also as they made sure to use more than just Pennywise for scares such as Mrs. Kersh for Beverage or the leper for Eddie. They cranked up the jump scares as well in several scenes but it never feels like a cheap scare tactic.
Just like with the book there are several key sad moments as well such as in the beginning with Stan ultimately commits suicide rather than to face IT again or with the death of Eddie when he dies in the final confrontation with IT. These two along with Stan’s final letter to his friends will definitely make you shed a tear.
All in all this feels like a solid conclusion to me. My only gripe is that there was no resolution with Bills wife and Beverly’s husband. But other than that I absolutely loved this movie; a solid 9 out of 10!

Children at ‘Peppa Pig’ movie in tears following trailers for horror films
Children eagerly waiting to see the new film “Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun” began their theater experience in tears after trailers for horror movies featuring blood and violence were played before the screening.
Parents briefly removed their children from the screening at Empire Cinema in Ipswich, England, on Saturday after trailers for the films “Ma” and “Brightburn” were played before the children’s movie.
“Brightburn,” a superhero horror film featuring Elizabeth Banks, shows a child wearing a mask and seemingly killing a bloodied woman at the end. The trailer shows flashes of hanging bodies. The trailer for “Ma,” starring Octavia Spencer, is filled with sexual violence, blood, bodies and includes a scene of a teen being hit by a truck.
Charlie Jones, a BBC journalist, said she took her daughter to the film screening and attempted to cover her eyes when the scary trailers were played.
“Normally I would expect her [my daughter] to be singing and dancing when watching something like [Peppa Pig] but she was just really subdued,” Jones said. “I tried to cover her eyes during the trailers and told her they were silly films for mommies and daddies, but there were lots of kids crying and she was very confused and started crying too.”
Jones said she went “mad” at the manager after the incident.
“It was meant to be a special day for Annie. I don’t think he understands the impact of it,” she added. “Annie is very imaginative and scared of monsters and things like that at the moment.”
“You go to the movies and you expect it to be a safe family day out, you don’t expect her to be exposed to anything which could do harm,” Jones said.
An Empire Cinemas spokeswoman apologized for “any distress” caused by the incident.
“As soon as the staff on site were made aware of the situation, the program was stopped and trailers were taken off-screen immediately. We do sincerely apologize for this and for any distress caused and will be reviewing our internal procedures to ascertain how this came to be,” the spokeswoman said in a statement to the BBC.
Girl on the Third Floor is a skin-crawling horror movie about hauntings and the supernatural perils of toxic masculinity
It’s hard finding new ways to haunt a house. And Girl on the Third Floor, a horror film that premiered at 2019’s SXSW Interactive Festival, doesn’t make a point of trying. It hits the classic beats of the genre, largely established by Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House: a protagonist with a troubled past moves into a grand but dilapidated old home with a dark secret, then finds a malevolent force dredging up his personal demons.
Instead of trying to push narrative limits, Girl on the Third Floor uses predictability to generate suspense. It draws the audience through each step of the protagonist’s inevitable downfall, delivering copious foreshadowing and jump scares with simple practical effects. Marbles, mucus, and doorbells have never been so ominous.
