Lindsay Lohan On the #MeToo Movement: ‘Women Speaking Against All These Things Makes Them Look Weak’
Lindsay Lohan has voiced her opinion about the #MeToo movement in an Aug. 4 interview with The Times.
“I don’t really have anything to say,” Lohan tells the outlet. “I can’t speak on something I didn’t live, right? Look, I am very supportive of women. Everyone goes through their own experiences in their own ways.
“If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment,” she adds. “You make it a real thing by making it a police report. I’m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women. You have these girls who come out, who don’t even know who they are, who do it for the attention. That is taking away from the fact that it happened.”
The #MeToo movement arose after the alleged sex crimes committed by production mogul Harvey Weinstein — whom Lohan stood up for last year — which prompted many women to bravely share their own experiences.

Salma Hayek Says Harvey Weinstein Threatened To ‘Kill’ Her
The actress reveals in an op-ed that Weinstein’s demands sent her into a “crying and convulsing” breakdown.
Actress Salma Hayek has come forward with a horrifying and searing account of her experiences with disgraced film executive Harvey Weinstein, who she said harassed her with sexual demands and furiously threatened: “I will kill you, don’t think I can’t.”
Hayek, in a New York Times op-ed headlined “Harvey Weinstein Is My Monster Too,” published Wednesday, revealed how she opened the door to the then-Hollywood kingpin during the making of her 2002 film, “Frida,” her passion project about the life of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Her yes to the movie deal, she wrote, quickly led to having to tell Weinstein no.
“No to opening the door to him at all hours of the night, hotel after hotel, location after location, where he would show up unexpectedly, including one location where I was doing a movie he wasn’t even involved with. No to me taking a shower with him. No to letting him watch me take a shower. No to letting him give me a massage. No to letting a naked friend of his give me a massage. No to letting him give me oral sex. No to my getting naked with another woman. No, no, no, no, no,” she wrote.
When sweet talk and persistence failed him, Hayek said Weinstein resorted to “Machiavellian rage.” Once, she wrote, “in an attack of fury, he said the terrifying words, ‘I will kill you, don’t think I can’t.’”
She also described a “nervous breakdown” she had when Weinstein forced her into a full-frontal nudity sex scene with another woman. Hayek said her “body wouldn’t stop crying and convulsing.”
“I started throwing up while a set frozen still waited to shoot,” she wrote. “I had to take a tranquilizer, which eventually stopped the crying but made the vomiting worse. As you can imagine, this was not sexy, but it was the only way I could get through the scene.”
In a statement to BuzzFeed’s Kate Aurthur, a spokesperson for Weinstein said the producer denied “all of the sexual allegations as portrayed by Salma.” The rep also said that other investors preferred that Jennifer Lopez, “who at the time was a bigger star,” play Frida but that Weinstein overruled them and backed Hayek as the lead.
“Mr. Weinstein does not recall pressuring Salma to do a gratuitous sex scene with a female costar and he was not there for filming,” the statement added.

Rose McGowan, Asia Argento Call Out Alyssa Milano for Wishing Harvey Weinstein’s Wife Well on ‘Today’
Milano calls Georgina Chapman “an amazing woman,” which apparently makes McGowan “want to vomit.”
Rose McGowan, Jawbreaker actress, and Asia Argento, actress, both took to Twitter Friday to slam Alyssa Milano’s, Melrose Place actress,”Today” interview earlier this week when the TIME Person of the Year was revealed.
While Milano has been considered a huge ally in the #MeToo movement sweeping the country, resulting in many powerful men being fired or resigning from positions due to sexual misconduct allegations, McGowan and Argento were not pleased with Milano’s comments about Georgina Chapman. The designer is married to Harvey Weinstein, a movie mogul McGowan and Argento say raped them in separate incidents. Chapman left Weinstein after the flood of sexual assault allegations against him came to light.
Argento simply noted that “Milano is no bueno” Friday morning, while McGowan seemingly expressed that her former “Charmed” co-star made her sick.
“You make me want to vomit. You actually gave me a body flashback. Well done, fake one,” McGowan commented, while retweeting an article about Milano’s comments.
“Alyssa, maybe you and Georgina can call up Camille Cosby,” she added, referring to Bill Cosby’s wife, who stood by the disgraced comedian even after dozens of women came forward with disturbing sexual assault allegations.
Milano gave the “Today” show’s Megyn Kelly an update on Chapman, whom she became friends with five years ago on the set of the Weinstein-produced reality show “Project Runway All Stars.”
Milano said Chapman was “very sad,” and added, “This is not easy for her, but I have no doubt that not only will she come out on the other side of this, but she deserves to.”
“She’s an amazing woman, and I think her priority right now is focusing on how to raise those two children to the best of her capacity given the situation,” Milano said.
In the lengthy statement, Weinstein owned up to some of his bad behavior, though his attorney also said “he denies many of the accusations as patently false.”

Matt Lauer fired from NBC for ‘inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace’
Matt Lauer has been terminated for “inappropriate workplace behavior,” NBC News chairman Andrew Lack wrote in a memo to staff that was read at the top of the Today show Wednesday.
Lauer has served as co-anchor of NBC’s morning news program since 1997. He joined Today in 1994.
Joined by Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie announced that her former co-anchor had been terminated, reading a memo sent to NBC staff, which USA TODAY also obtained.
“On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. It represented, after serious review, a clear violation of our company’s standards. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment,” Lack said in the memo.
It continued, “While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over twenty years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.”

British Actress Accuses Harvey Weinstein of Sex Trafficking in Lawsuit
Kadian Noble revealed her encounter with the disgraced mogul to CBS News, alleging he sexually assaulted her in a bathroom.
Another layer into the Harvey Weinstein scandal continues to unfold. British actress Kadian Noble has filed a civil suit alleging that the mogul sexually assaulted her during the 2014 Cannes Film Festival in France.
Sharing similar sentiments as other Weinstein accusers, Noble told CBS News that Weinstein lured her into his hotel room, promising a movie role, and also claimed in her suit that the mogul “recruits, solicits and entices young female actresses.”
“I still can hear the rattle from his belt, like him undoing his belt while he had grip of me,” Noble recalled, revealing that she was forced into a hotel bathroom, where Weinstein sexually assaulted her.
Noble said Weinstein approached her during the film festival and invited her to his room to watch her audition reel, only to begin allegedly assaulting her. “It seemed like it went on forever and he basically took, just completely touched me inappropriately and got me to put — force my hand in places,” she recalled.
The actress is now suing The Weinstein Co. for damages from the assault, with Noble alleging that Weinstein told her, “Everything will be taken care of for you if you relax,” after attempting to fight back against the mogul. The federal lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, also claims that Weinstein took part in sex-trafficking, as he traveled between the U.S., London and France, where the assault occurred.
“Harvey was a legend. He was someone that I thought was going to make my dream a reality,” Noble said of her former thoughts of the mogul. The actress explained that she still harbors dark remnants from the attack and now feels like a different person.
“I’m not the same person, you know. I’ve had to have counseling. Just so much. But I’ve had to keep it to myself. I’ve kept it to myself,” Noble said, visibly emotional.
“Harvey wasn’t acting alone,” said Noble’s attorney Jeff Herman. “Harvey wasn’t allowed and enabled to do what he did to Kadian and other women without help.” A day prior, Herman told NBC’s Today he filed the suit under the federal sex trafficking law because he believes the alleged act falls within the statute. “The benefit of filing under this federal law is that it allows us to bring a claim in the United States for an assault that occurred overseas and it has a 10-year statute of limitations,” he said.
Weinstein has denied all allegations from the multiple accusers alleging the mogul sexually assaulted them, and a spokesman denied Noble’s claims.
Herman, a Florida-based attorney, also represents Weinstein accuser Dominique Huett, who accused the mogul of forcibly performing oral sex on her and is suing TWC for negligence for allegedly enabling his behavior.
Weinstein is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles, New York, London and Park City, Utah, police.
