Kaepernick would reportedly sign with any NFL team — even the Redskins
Free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick reportedly would play for the Washington Redskins, or any team, should he get offered a job with three weeks left in the regular season.
Kaepernick, who last played for the San Francisco 49ers, would play for Washington despite the controversy over the team’s logo and name and team owner Dan Snyder’s criticism about players kneeling during the national anthem, sources told Yahoo Sports on Sunday.
“He’s a professional Super Bowl-caliber quarterback and in the best shape of his life and he would play if given the opportunity on any NFL team,” a source told Yahoo Sports.
Kaepernick, who sparked controversy around the league when he decided to kneel during the national anthem in protest of perceived racial injustice across the U.S., has reportedly been working out and staying prepped in ready should an NFL team call his phone.
Redskins coach Jay Gruden said last week the team has “discussed” signing Kaepernick internally, but chose to go with Josh Johnson instead to back up March Sanchez. Sanchez hadn’t thrown a pass since 2016 and Johnson since 2011 before both players signed with Washington. Sources told Yahoo Sports the organization never reached out to Kaepernick.
“No call for a job, no call for a tryout, no calls period – nothing,” a source told Yahoo Sports.
The Redskins are 6-7 after Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants. The team is tied for second in the NFC East.

Kanye West wants Donald Trump and Colin Kaepernick to meet, talk ‘until the conversation turns to love’
Kanye West, who has remained defiant amid backlash over his support for President Donald Trump, said that he reached out to Colin Kaepernick to try to arrange a meeting between the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and the president, saying, “we keep having the conversation until the conversation turns to love.”
“I’ve been calling Colin this morning, reaching him, so I can bring Colin to the White House and we can remove that s— of b—— statement and we can be on the same page,” the rapper, donning a “Make America Great Again” hat, told TMZ on Monday.
At a campaign rally in Alabama on Sept. 22, 2017, Trump ignited a feud with the National Football League and players who take a knee during the National Anthem to protest racism, where he called on NFL owners to fire them, suggesting they say “get that s– of a b—- off the field! He’s fired, he’s fired!”
During a visit to The Fader offices on Thursday, West was spotted sporting the red Trump “MAGA” hat with a Kaepernick sweatshirt.
Kaepernick, who was the first to take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem in 2016 to protest racism and police brutality, and others who followed suit have been at the center of Trump’s ongoing fight with the league.
“We never give up on anyone,” the rapper told TMZ. “Let me even make that more positive, we move forward, we give love, we keeping going, we keep having the conversation until the conversation turns to love.”

Sources: NFL used polling firm to get public opinion on Colin Kaepernick
ATLANTA – Four months into quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s 2017 free agency and heading into intensified criticism from President Donald Trump over player protests, the NFL used a Washington consulting firm to ask Americans whether Kaepernick should have been signed by a team, according to sources familiar with the league’s research.
The poll was conducted by The Glover Park Group, a consulting firm that was co-founded by then-NFL communications chief Joe Lockhart, sources told Yahoo Sports. The data sought by the NFL included fan attitudes about a few high-profile league concerns, including domestic violence, gambling, player protests and player safety. Sources noted that Kaepernick was the only player singled out in the research for specific opinions, which were then compiled and sent to various league officials, including commissioner Roger Goodell and several other high-ranking executives.
The poll could create a significant point of contention in Kaepernick’s collusion complaint against the NFL, raising the question of why the league conducted opinion research with its fan base about the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback. The existence of polling data on Kaepernick could also raise the question of whether the research went beyond high-ranking NFL executives to ownership groups or other team personnel who could have signed the quarterback…….

Tomi Lahren Disses Beyoncé And Colin Kaepernick
Tomi Lahren is back. Why? I am not sure. How? Again, I am not sure. But she managed to find her way to twitter to hate on Beyonce and Kaepernick after Bey awarded Kaepernick with the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award (Congratulations Kaepernick!!!).
Wow indeed. I will start by addressing her belittling Kaepernick by pegging him ‘Kappy’ (insert side eye here).
I do not agree with Lahren’s politics antics, not only because they are not conducive to innovating change for all types of people, but it is the fact that she does not even use relevant examples to fuel her anger-ridden attempts at appeasing certain parts of White bigoted America. Instead she focuses on a successful business woman that puts out hits after hits that I am sure even Lahren’s mother bops to on occasion, and a social martyr that was protesting injustice-and got fired for it. These two are not exactly the best to try and drag through the mud, Lahren, as I am sure she figured out by the stings and the unrelenting roasting the Beehive and Black Twitter have served her.
But that is to be expected from Lahren, someone who got fired on her day off and tried to rally the support of the women she dissed to help her get her job back. Tsk tsk.
Stephen A. Smith Points Out NFL’s Paid Patriotism Problem
Original article Sep 14 2016
Late last month, as the country was only just becoming consumed by Colin Kaepernick, Tom E. Curran of Comcast Sportsnet New England reported that, actually, NFL players did not typically stand for the national anthem until 2009. Somehow this escaped many of us until, uh, Stephen A. Smith highlighted it this morning on First Take.
Responding to a tip from one of his “boys,” Smith brought up the fact that until 2009—eight years and a new Presidential administration after 9/11—players weren’t on the field for the national anthem and instead generally remained in the locker room. According to Smith’s boy (and the researcher at ESPN who checked it), the switch happened “because it was seen as a marketing…….
