Baby girl killed, 9-year-old boy wounded in Texas shooting
A 1-year-old Texas girl is dead and her 9-year-old brother was wounded after a teen neighbor showed up at their house with a gun, according to new reports.
The girl was shot in the head at a home in the Windmill Hills neighborhood of the city of Forney around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, the Dallas Morning News reported. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her brother, whose finger was severed, was listed in stable condition at a Dallas hospital, inForney.com reported, citing the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement officials and neighbors confirmed to the outlet that the home was a single-parent household, and the parent left their three children unattended to run an errand.
During that time, the neighbor, a 14-year-old boy, showed up unannounced with a loaded handgun and was invited in, according to the report.
It was not immediately clear how the incident unfolded from there.
The teen was taken into custody for questioning, and no charges were immediately filed.

Georgia woman pulls gun on two Black boys riding their bikes
Patricia Compton was charged with aggravated assault counts, plus child cruelty and terroristic threats.
Two children in Georgia say they were terrified when a woman pulled a gun on them as they were out riding bikes in a Byron subdivision on Sunday.
Twelve-year-old Kaleb Barnes and his best friend, 13-year-old Ethan Hollis, were riding their bikes in the Autumn Cove subdivision when they heard animal noises and went to investigate.
That’s when they were approached by Patricia Compton, who pointed a gun at them.
“My friend Ethan started running, and I just stood there and said, ‘Don’t shoot, don’t shoot, I’m a kid,’ and I tripped on those rocks,” Barnes told a local news outlet.
Compton reportedly told the boys: “Stop or I’ll shoot you.”
Hollis ran to the home of Barnes’ grandparents, Henry and Venita Kennedy, who called the police and recorded the incident on Facebook Live.
Responding officers explained the law to Compton: Because she was in no danger, and the incident happened in broad daylight, she was being charged with one count of aggravated assault.
“When the officer was explaining the law to her, she then told the officer that if the kids had approached her, she would have shot them. This is what we’re dealing with,” Venita Kennedy said.
“No kid should ever come outside to play,” she added, “and have an adult pull a gun on them.”
Byron Police arrested Compton again Monday night and charged her with additional counts of aggravated assault, as well as child cruelty and terroristic threats, according to a new local report.
Compton told the responding deputy she got a call from neighbors that two people were on her property. The report notes it wasn’t her home but a piece of land that houses a construction shop and animals.
She initially denied pointing her gun at the children but later said she “didn’t remember.” She also said she didn’t realize the boys were juveniles.
“Mrs. Compton was not on scene when the juveniles entered the property and decided to approach and engage them without waiting for law enforcement to arrive, indicating that she was never in fear for her safety,” reads the Peach County incident report.
Byron, Georgia is approximately one hour south of Atlanta.

Pedophile targeted 5,000 kids by pretending to be teen girl on Facebook
A serial British pedophile has admitted almost 100 offenses against children as young as 4 — after posing as a teenage girl on Facebook to target more than 5,000 youngsters around the world.
David Wilson, 36, pleaded guilty Monday to 96 counts of child sexual abuse on 51 victims ages 4 to 14 — so many that it took half an hour for the charges to be read to him in Ipswich Crown Court.
The court heard that the Norfolk laborer posed as multiple teenage girls on Facebook to trick youngsters into sending sexually explicit photos — with victims not just in the UK but also in Australia and the US.
Once he had built up their trust, he blackmailed them into sending him more extreme footage of themselves — and in some cases of them abusing younger siblings or friends, the court was told.
The charges included intentionally causing boys to engage in sexual activity, blackmail and intentionally facilitating the sexual exploitation of children.
Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) said there was evidence that as many as 500 victims had sent him images, and that he had contacted 5,000 children worldwide.
“David Wilson is a prolific offender who has caused heartbreaking suffering to some of the boys and their families in this case,” the agency’s head of child sex abuse operations, Tony Cook, said in a statement.
“He knew the anguish victims were suffering but ignored any pleas from them to stop until he got what he wanted from them,” he said.
The pedophile was busted thanks to information shared by Facebook — something the NCA fears will end if it implements planned end-to-end encryption on its Messenger service.
“Content obtained from Facebook Messenger conversations was … crucial throughout the operation,” said Rob Jones of the law enforcement agency.
“Had that content been end-to-end encrypted, there is a real risk that justice would not have been served and Wilson would still be abusing victims today,” he said, calling it a “chilling” thought.
Wilson will be sentenced in January.

Florida woman charged in machete attack wanted to be with man’s wife
A Florida woman savagely hacked a man with a machete in his own bedroom during a psychotic attempt to convince his wife to run away with her, authorities said.
Alana J. Gibson, 27, of Venice, is facing charges of attempted murder, armed burglary, battery and fleeing to elude after Sarasota County deputies responded to the couple’s home just after midnight Sunday and found a shattered bedroom window, authorities said Monday.
Gibson, who worked with the man’s wife, broke into the Venice residence and attacked the male victim with a machete as he was asleep, deputies said.
Witnesses told investigators Gibson, who is identified in jail records as female, then began to strangle the man’s wife as she tried to stop the onslaught, deputies said.
Gibson then fled the home in a white pickup truck and led deputies on car chase into neighboring Charlotte County, where she was ultimately apprehended. Investigators also recovered a slew of weapons at the couple’s home, including a machete, an ax, a compound bow and several arrows, deputies said.
Gibson later admitted during an interview with investigators that she planned to kill the man and convince his wife to run away with her. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital and remained in stable condition Monday, authorities said.
The man had several lacerations throughout his body, The Port Charlotte Sun reported.
Gibson, meanwhile, was taken into custody after she drove over devices put down by authorities that blew out her tires. She kept driving, however, until a deputy used his patrol car to spin her truck sideways, the newspaper reported.
Gibson, who is listed as unemployed in jail records, remained held without bond Tuesday at the Sarasota County Correctional Facility, online data shows. It’s unclear if she’s hired an attorney who could speak on her behalf.

Three arrested in murder of Tennessee girl killed in her sleep by stray bullet
Three men have been charged in the murder of a 10-year-old Tennessee girl who was killed by a stray bullet in her sleep.
Lillyhanna Davis was laying on a couch in her home near Elizabethton at around 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 17 when a bullet from a drive by shooting passed through the wall and struck her in the head, the Johnson City Press reported.
The young girl was taken to a local hospital where she died.
The Carter County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that three men had been arrested in connection with Lillyhanna’s killing.
Jason Bryan Barber, 18, Jediah Shane Glover, and Zachary Scott Scalf, both 20, were arrested last week for first degree murder, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, and other charges.
Mary Davis said her daughter Lillyhanna didn’t deserve to die at such a young age.
“I heard my husband hollering for her and we ran in there and my baby was gone,” the distraught mother told WJLH. “You don’t ever want to wake up to your baby and all you see is blood.”
Davis described her daughter as a good student who loved playing with her brothers and helping with chores around the house.
“Whoever did this, they took my baby’s life,” she told the outlet. “They took my heart away.”
Local reports say the drive by was revenge for another shooting that occurred on Oct. 31.
The three men are each being held on $900,000 bond.

Rapper Juvenile Now Making A Living Selling House Lamps, Rapper Announced His Latest Business Venture ‘Made By Juvie’ Is Now Open
“You a paper chaser, you got cha’ block on fire. You know what it is. You make nothin’ out of somethin’…” an excerpt from the chorus of the hit single “Ha” which introduced the world to the southern-inflected flow of New Orleans’ Juvenile. In the years to follow, the Cash Money rapper would take over “for the 99 and the 2000” as he made women everywhere “Back That Thang Up” with a string of hits and guest appearances alongside the Hot Boys and Cash Money crew.
His last big splash came from the smooth earworm, “Slow Motion” which dominated Urban radio airwaves for an extended stretch in the early-mid Aughts. What’s the 400 Degrees emcee up to now you ask?
The old spiritual tune, This Little Light of Mine proves most apt now – Juvie is selling custom-made lamps and light fixtures. The Magnolia Projects rapper now exercises his artistic talents in a venture that might rival the likes of Crate and Barrel and Urban Home.
The newfound entrepreneurial streak, titled Made By Juvie offers a variety of custom lamps artisanal tables, protective masks, liquid dispensers and more. Much of the website’s inventory comes at a hefty price tag, a measure of their relative value.
It should be noted that Juvenile is quite proud of his handiwork; he’s made a slew of dazzling Instagram posts featuring segments of his offerings for his 500,000 followers.
The reception has seemingly been positive thus far. Many have commented favorably on Juvie’s transition from being a famous rapper to a proud business owner. ‘Nolia claps resound praising the innovative designs: fashion lamps in the likeness of robots, rifles, and rocketships as well an evasion of the stereotypical celebrity post-pinnacle demise: the lifestyle of drug addiction, depression and dependency.
After suffering a major personal tragedy in the passing of his 4-year-old daughter Jelani, who lost her life alongside her mother and sister in 2008, a successful post-music career and lifestyle is well-deserved and celebrated. As so many suffer in cautionary tales in Hip-Hop…and entertainment in general, fans are finding Made By Juvie at worst, a refreshing surprise and perhaps better, a financial inspiration to others exiting the rap game.
Coming out of New Orleans’ infamous Magnolia Projects and recording 16 albums in a solo or collaborative capacity, Juvenile has bolstered several to Multi-Platinum and Gold level sales. An opportunity to find a new passion and make it commercially viable is an aspiration of many fighting to get out of America’s capitalist rat race.
Kudos to you Juvie; Kudos to us all.

Kim Kardashian West visits Julius Jones on Death Row in Oklahoma
Article via OKCFOX
Global celebrity and activist Kim Kardashian West traveled to Oklahoma to visit with Julius Jones, a man on death row being held in Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.
Jones was convicted in 1999 of shooting a businessman in Edmond but has maintained that he is innocent and was never even at the scene of the crime.
Kardashian West became involved in the Oklahoma-based “Justice for Julius” campaign after seeing the three-hour ABC documentary, “The Last Defense.”
Over six million people have signed a Change.org petition asking the Pardon and Parole Board and Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt to commute Jones’ sentence.
In June, Attorney General Mike Hunter acknowledged the board had the authority to do so.
Kardashian West met with Julius on death row, accompanied by Julius’ attorney, Dale Baich.
She also met in Oklahoma City with Julius’ family that included his mother, father, sister, and brother.
Justice for Julius coalition leader Cece Jones-Davis said all Julius wants is a chance to tell his side of the story and present the evidence that should have been presented at trial.
“Here is a man with an alibi, who did not match the eye-witness description of the shooter, and who was convicted by the testimony of incredibly unreliable witnesses motivated by secret plea deals,” said Jones-Davis. “It has been more than one-year since Julius submitted his commutation application and we want the Pardon and Parole Board to grant Julius a hearing that will be full and fair and will also allow the board to consider the new evidence. Anything less would be a tremendous miscarriage of justice.”

15 members of Texas family infected with COVID-19 after small birthday party – “Please don’t be like my family.”
A birthday party earlier this month is having some longer term effects for one family in Arlington, Texas, according to KTLA sister station KXAN in Austin.
Alexa Aragonez, 26, tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that her family discussed their concerns before the Nov. 1 party and decided they’d been careful enough.
While she didn’t attend, she dropped off her 57-year-old mother at the party: which included 11 other guests, including one pregnant cousin and four children.
A few days later, Aragonez’s mom Enriqueta began feeling sick, took a test and tested positive for coronavirus. Eventually, all 12 party guests tested positive.
Enriqueta’s case was most severe: she spent one week and a day in the hospital. The other family members experienced mild symptoms, though some of the children developed strong coughs.
“It’s scary to think that what if my entire family would have had the severe case and every single one of those 15 folks had to go to the hospital,” Aragonez told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “One, I would feel guilty for taking resources from people that really do need it, and two, I would be at risk of losing my entire family.”
Aragonez tested negative, but three more people — who were not at the party — were also infected due to guests who attended.
She says her family didn’t believe gathering with relatives was high-risk and that they’d all grown tired of not seeing each other as regularly as they normally do.
Now, the family wants to get the message out to others: even if your family gatherings feel safe, it doesn’t mean they are. They’ve appeared in a video for the City of Arlington, expressing regret for not listening to safety recommendations.
“Now I’m in the hospital,” Enriqueta says sadly. “And I can’t see my family.”
Aragonez ends the video by urging residents: “Please, don’t be like my family and ignore the CDC guidelines. By staying apart, we can fight this virus together. The cure starts and ends with you.”
