Avengers: Infinity War Movie Review(SPOILERS)
In all honesty, I cannot talk about this movie without bringing spoilers into it. This past weekend I got the privilege to see Avengers: Infinity War not once but twice! I can honestly say that it was blown away both times I saw it.
For those that don’t know and don’t care about spoilers, Avengers: Infinity is the culmination and mega cross over of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Iron Man until now. In this new movie everyone must come together and stop the powerful Titan Thanos from getting all six infinity stones and wreaking havoc across the universe.
Let me just start off by saying that Josh Brolin, killed it as Thanos. That man was on level 100 from start to finish in his movie. In a sense this is essentially Thanos’ movie. He showed his ruthlessness by not only killing half of the Asguardians but killing Heimdall and Loki as well and making Thor watch. That’s how you know he meant business in this movie.
All of our here’s from Doctor Strange to Iron Man to Captain America to Black Panther all did great in this movie as well and stole the spotlight in their scenes.
The tone of this movie was very well balanced as the shift from humor to dark to sadness felt natural and not forced and it matched with whatever character was in the scene.
Now let’s talk team ups and action sequences. The action scenes in this movie make the fights in Civil War look tame. Every battle was top notch from Doctor Strange using his magic to counter against Ebony Maw’s telekinetic attacks, Team Iron Man using their strategic minds to get the edge on Thanos in Titan to the straight up brawl fest in Wakanda, there was no talk just action through out.
But as stated this movie did bring about several sad scenes and unexpected deaths. As stated before, while Loki’s death was somewhat predictable it was still sad nonetheless as with Thanos killing Gamora to get the soul stone. The one with the worst luck might have been Vision in my opinion. Being killed by the one you love only for Thanos to reverse time and do it himself is down right horrible. Also with Thanos getting all six stone and snapping his fingers, his plan was complete. All those who died with his snap were Bucky Barnes, Black Panther, Falcon, Starlord, Drax, Mantis, Scarlett Witch, Groot, Spider-Man, Maria Hill, and Nick Fury.
Things look extremely bleak going into Avengers 4 next year but from what it looks like, this will be the last hoorah for the original MCU Avengers before the new heroes take over. Let’s see how hey manage tofix the mess that Thanos has caused.
Avengers: Infinity War, if you haven’t seen it, I suggest you go as soon as possible, those 10 years were worth the wait for this movie. It’s a definite solid 10 out of 10 for me, let me know what you think!
Boy, 10, found dead inside dryer of Texas apartment complex; mom speaks out
The Harris County Medical Examiner’s office released information about the cause of death for the 10-year-old boy who was found dead in a dryer in east Houston.
The autopsy report revealed that the boy died from electrocution.
His mother identified the victim as Fernando Hernandez Jr., a third grade student at Harris Elementary School.
Hernandez’s mother said he was playing with his 9-year-old brother.
“I don’t know what happened,” said his mother, Christina Rodriguez. “I was just inside cooking and my little son came inside and told me my son was dead on the floor.”
In eyewitness video, paramedics could be seen performing CPR on the child.
“My boyfriend picked him up and brought him into the house,” Rodriguez explained. “He was purple and his eyes were open and he was gone.”
The boy was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Woman uses YouTube, shoelaces and pocketknife to deliver her own baby
LA VERGNE, Tenn. — A La Vergne woman delivered her own baby under unbelievable circumstances while on a layover in Istanbul. Her incredible story has gone viral.
Tia Freeman was flying from Tennessee to Turkey when she started feeling sick.
“I was like, I’ll just sleep it off, sleep cures everything,” Freeman said. “So I go to sleep and wake up as we’re landing and I notice my cramps have gotten astronomically worse.”
Freeman barely made it to her Istanbul hotel before realizing her stomach cramps were actually contractions. At just 22-years-old, Tia realized she was alone in a foreign country, and had no idea how to reach a hospital. So instead, she turned to the internet.
“I literally was on YouTube typing like how to deliver a baby,” Freeman said. “Scroll, scroll, scroll and yup, that video looks like they know what they’re talking about.”
Freeman said she pushed about five times when her baby boy decided to enter the world. Then, a wiki-how article walked her through how to cut her son’s umbilical cord. Instead of using clamps and a surgical knife, she used shoelaces and a pocketknife that she sterilized in an electronic tea kettle.
Tia and her son slept through the night, then took a cab back to the airport the next morning.
“Immediately, security knew something was up,” she said. “They called in a doctor and nurse and I called the U.S. consulate.”
It took several hours to sort out the details, but Tia’s child was issued an emergency passport and allowed to fly home when he was 2 weeks old.
Tia tweeted the ordeal and her story has now been shared internationally. Both she and baby Xavier are healthy.

7 Children Killed, 12 Injured in Knife Attack at Middle School in China
At least seven students were killed and 12 injured in a knife attack at a middle school in Shaanxi province, China, on Friday evening, according to the state-run Xinhua news agency.
A male suspect was arrested by police and an investigation is ongoing, Xinhua reported, citing local government officials.
Knife attacks at schools in China are common. Last year, a man climbed over the wall of a kindergarten and attacked 11 students. None suffered life-threatening injuries.
In 2016, a man in the southern province of Hainan stabbed 10 children before killing himself, authorities said.
And another man killed three students at a school in 2014 before jumping off a building.
But perhaps the worst spate of stabbings occurred in 2010, which included a period of three consecutive days in which attackers targeted schools. China’s Ministry of Education responded to those events by ordering schools to beef up security and bar strangers from going on campuses.
China also began requiring people to register with the government when buying large knives.

Doctor allegedly threatened to slit employees’ throats and cut their heads off
A doctor in Georgia has been charged with making terroristic threats after she allegedly threated to “slit” her employees’ throats.
Marian Antoinette Patterson, a family practice doctor who’s worked in the Valdosta area for almost 30 years, allegedly shouted a slew of threats at her employees, WCTV reported.
Authorities reportedly responded to Patterson’s South Georgia practice on Feb. 21 after reports of a disturbance.
Patterson, according to authorities, told employees she would “slit their throats,” and even told one worker she was going to “cut her head off and roll it down the hallway,” and that she’d call the employee’s children to show them.
The doctor allegedly grabbed at least one employee and threw a catalog, reflex hammer and prescription bottles, along with trying to throw a large potted plant. Patterson also tossed water on two employees, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Ashley Paulk called Patterson’s situation “unfortunate,” and blamed issues happening in her life for her actions.
Patterson’s medical license was temporarily suspended in March, according to Georgia Composite Medical Board records. WCTV reported the board mentioned the Feb. 21 incident in the suspension order and reportedly said it had received allegations that Patterson had been under the influence at the office several times.
Patterson has been charged with three counts of terroristic threats and false imprisonment, according to reports. She turned herself in last week and has since been released on bail.

Florida dad angered by ‘highly inappropriate’ question on daughter’s anatomy assignment
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Florida school is thanking a father for bringing a ‘highly inappropriate’ homework assignment to their attention.
Omar Austin demanded answers from Westside High School in Jacksonville after seeing his 11th-grade daughter’s homework for anatomy class, according to WTLV.
Austin posted a Facebook video of himself reading from the homework with the caption, “This needs to be seen. WTH is going on in our schools???”
One of the questions on the assignment read:
“Ursula was devastated when her boyfriend broke up with her after having sex. To get revenge, she had sex with his best friend the next day. Ursula had a beautiful baby girl 9 months later. Ursula has type O blood, her ex-boyfriend is type AB blood, and his best friend is type A blood. If her baby daddy is her ex-boyfriend, what could her baby’s possible blood type(s) NOT be?”
Austin said he thought it was a joke at first, telling WTLV that the it was a question better left for “reality TV and soap operas,” and lacked morality.
“The words ‘baby daddy’ and ‘baby mama’ being used, that’s foresight,” Austin told WTLV. “The fact that she’s having sex with one guy and to get revenge on this guy she has sex with his best friend the next day? I mean, that’s just not something that I want to teach any student.”
Austin said he doesn’t fault the school after the principal told him the assignment came from the school district, so now he is pushing for change from Duval County Public Schools.
School district officials said in a statement to WTLV that “the question was highly inappropriate and was not part of a district assessment.” Duval County Public Schools thanked Austin for speaking out and said they are conducting a full review of the situation to find out how a student could have received that worksheet.
Officials added that “appropriate and corrective action will be taken.”
126 pounds of meth found in semi carrying Starbucks products
CENTRALIA, Wash. — Officers have seized 126 pounds of methamphetamine from a semi that was hauling Starbucks products between California and Spokane, Wash., the Centralia Police Department said Friday.
The driver and passenger in the 1996 Freightliner tractor and refrigerated trailer began acting suspiciously during a traffic stop on Thursday, police said, prompting the officer to request a narcotics-sniffing K-9.
The dog alerted officers to the presence of drugs in the truck’s cab, police said, and a search of the sleeper berth revealed 40 bundles of meth, weighing a total of 126 pounds, hidden in a television box. Also found were 2.4 pounds of suspected heroin, several thousand Oxycodone pills and a few grams of cocaine, police said.
The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old man from Mexicali, Mexico; and his passenger, a 62-year-old man from Fontana, Calif.; were booked into the Lewis County Jail on drug charges. The truck had California license plates.
“No contraband was found in the trailer and none of the food product in the trailer was exposed or compromised,” police said in a news release, adding that the load was transferred to another truck and continued on its way.

Ben Carson Thinks Poor People Should Pay Higher Rent If They Want Government Help
Ben Carson is just mean and crewel! Those of you christians and great people who voted for Trump and his administration. How do you like your new President now ?
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson is proposing to increase rent for millions of low-income tenants in government-subsidized housing and impose stricter work requirements.
The plan, unveiled Wednesday, would raise rent to 35 percent of gross income for more than 2 million families now paying 30 percent of adjusted income for subsidized housing. It would also mean that the poorest households ― more than 700,000 of them ― could see monthly rental caps triple to $150 from $50, HUD said. Elderly and disabled tenants would be exempt from the increase.
In addition, Carson wants to give public housing agencies the ability to impose minimum work requirements, excluding the elderly and the disabled…..
Hospitals may soon have to post prices for patients online
Hospitals may soon have to post their standard prices for patients online, under a proposed rule unveiled Tuesday by the Trump administration.
Also, the administration is seeking comments on how to stop so-called surprise billing — when patients are charged after unknowingly being seen by out-of-network providers — and how to give patients better information about the out-of-pocket costs they will face.
And officials are ramping up pressure on hospitals to give patients better access to their medical records electronically or face a penalty.
The proposed rule is the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ latest effort to give patients more information about the cost of health care and about their own medical history. The guidance applies mainly to Medicare patients and providers, but officials expect it will influence practices across the nation’s health care system. It would take effect in 2019.
The initiative builds on the Obama administration’s efforts to increase transparency. Hospitals are already required to provide either a list of their standard charges or their policies for allowing the public to view the prices. Trump officials want hospitals to post this information on the Internet and make it available in a way that third-party app developers can access.
The administration is also pressing providers to increase the sharing of information among hospitals so patients could see all their records, regardless of where they go for care. Currently, a hospital often gives patients access to their data through its own online portal.
“Our administration is serious about ensuring that when a patient leaves a hospital, they are able to get their medical information electronically,” said Seema Verma, the agency’s administrator.

5-year-old boy claims teachers taped his mouth shut, threw away his lunch
DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. — A family is furious with an elementary school after they say their 5-year-old son was assaulted and humiliated in front of his class, CNN affiliate WXYZ reports.
It was during Abdul Dannaoui’s lunch hour during preschool, that he says two teachers left him hungry, and barely breathing.
“She put the scotch tape on my mouth” says Abdul.
The straight “A” student says back on March 26th at Highview Elementary School, not one, but two teachers were having a laugh at his expense and then trying to cover it up.
“They said don’t tell your mom or dad, or no one” says Abdul. But, he told his mother how allegedly as many as 10 times he was prevented from eating in the same way, during snack time and lunch.
His food was also allegedly thrown out.
“I’m emotionally heartbroken. Disappointed. That’s his second home. That’s how they treat a child with asthma?” asks his mother Hoda.
Attorney Nabih Ayad says the family filed a police report and is pursuing legal action against the school district, that failed to address the situation with adequate discipline and transparency.
“It’s outrageous. It’s absurd. You think you send your kid to a place or school, where he would be safe” says Ayad.
Ayad also says the district still employs one of the teachers involved, placing other students at risk for similar attacks.
“One of the teachers was discharged. But, they kept the other teacher who said don’t tell your mom or dad, and even gave him a bracelet to entice him not to tell anyone” adds Ayad.
Action News tried numerous times to reach the school district since Thursday, but they haven’t returned our calls.
We’ll be reaching out to them again in the morning. In the meantime, Abdul’s parents are relocating him to another school.
