Ferris wheel operator beaten in wild Florida carnival fight video
A Ferris wheel operator at a South Florida carnival attacked a black mother before he was pummeled by a crowd of onlookers, video shows.
The wild, caught-on-camera brawl occurred at the Opa-locka Hialeah Flea Market on Saturday night, news station WPLG reported.
Footage posted to Twitter showed the woman scolding the carnival employee as she exits the ride — and the argument quickly taking a violent turn.
In the clip, the man puts his hands on the woman and pushes her.
The two start hitting each other, prompting other carnival-goers to jump over the ride’s gates to defend the woman, video shows.
Police responded and later interviewed the woman, WPLG reported.
Detectives said they believe there’s enough “probable cause” to arrest the ride operator.
“The Opa-locka Police Department does not tolerate any criminal acts of violence and will prosecute those individuals to the fullest extent of the law,” police said, WPLG reported.
It was not known on Monday morning whether the ride operator had been taken into custody.

FedEx shooter Brandon Hole was obsessed with ‘My Little Pony’
The teen who shot up an Indianapolis FedEx facility and killed eight people was reportedly part of a bizarre Internet subculture obsessed with “My Little Pony.”
Posts on Brandon Hole’s since-taken-down Facebook page appear to indicate he was a member of the “Bronies” community — a group of mostly adult men who are extreme fans of the kiddie toys and animated television show, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Some members are sexually attracted to the characters, while the group also has allegedly displayed far-right tendencies.
“I hope that I can be with Applejack in the afterlife, my life has no meaning without her,” Hole wrote on his Facebook page at 10:19 p.m. Thursday, less than an hour before his rampage began, the outlet reported.
The post included a photo of Applejack, a blond pony that is a main character on the show.
The name Brony is a mashup between “bro” and “pony” — and the group has a history of extremist tendencies, the outlet said, citing an internal Facebook memo they reviewed that detailed the post.
“Brony online culture has displayed elements of far-right and white nationalist extremism,” the memo stated.
Facebook stopped short of saying Hole’s pony-love had anything to do with the shooting, writing in the memo there was no clear evidence it motivated the massacre.
Hole, a former employee of FedEx, opened fire in the facility before turning the gun on himself.
His motives remain unclear.

TSA finds lump of crystal meth inside traveler’s breakfast burrito
A traveler at a Texas airport got caught trying to smuggle crystal meth into a breakfast burrito, authorities said.
TSA agents at the William P. Hobby Airport in Houston noticed the bulging burrito during a routine X-ray of the passenger’s carry-on luggage on April 2, the agency said Friday.
After spotting “an unidentified lump” in the burrito, agents asked the person to unwrap it for a closer inspection.
But “the passenger insisted it was just a breakfast burrito,” TSA said in a statement.
Agents again requested the burrito be unwrapped and, when the traveler finally complied, they noticed “something dark and unusual” amid the eggs, cheese and meat.
After scanning the burrito a second time, the TSA officers saw “black tape and dark wrapping around a large organic mass.”
Suspecting it was some kind of illegal substance, the agents called Houston Police, who confirmed the mass was actually meth, the TSA said.
Cops confiscated the contraband and arrested the traveler, who was not publicly identified in the statement.
According to local news outlet Houston Press, it appears the burrito might have actually been a taco, from Pappas Bar-B-Q, which has an outpost inside the airport’s main terminal.

Arizona woman finds tires slashed and a severed finger in her driveway
MARICOPA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – A couple in Maricopa, Arizona woke up to their tires slashed and a severed finger in the driveway on Thursday morning.
“I literally have been laughing all day because if I don’t, I might cry,” said Francesca Wikoff. The truck belongs to the Wikoff family. Wikoff, a former volunteer firefighter and EMT, has the stomach for this sort of thing. “It’s pretty comical. You would think that if you’re gonna go to the hospital, especially if you just severed your finger off, that you would take said finger with you,” said Wikoff.
Wikoff believes the tire slasher cut her back tire then cut his finger off on accident. “We assume it happened at 10:30 last night because we had our neighbor that lives next to him heard a loud scream and then a car speeding off,” said Wikoff.
The Maricopa mother believes the finger belongs to her neighbor because they argued with him the night before and a trail of blood leads to his house. “I don’t find joy in anybody hurting themselves. However, karma has a good way of working itself out,” said Wikoff.
The neighbor wasn’t home Thursday and Wikoff said he hasn’t been home all day. Arizona’s Family reached out to the Maricopa Police Department and haven’t heard back. Wikoff said no arrests have been made, only the finger so far has been taken in custody by police in a brown paper bag. “Well, I got the better hand,” said Wikoff.

Oldest living American dies at 116
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46) – The oldest living American, Hester Ford, has died at the age of 116, her family posted on Facebook Saturday night.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Hester McCardell Ford today,” the statement read. “She was a pillar and stalwart to our family and provided much-needed love, support and understanding to us all. She was the seed that sprouted leaves and branches which is now our family.”
According to Gerontology, Ford was the oldest living American and sixth oldest person in the world.
Ford was born in Lancaster County, South Carolina on Aug. 15, 1904, and went on to have 12 children with her husband, and has more than 50 grand-kids and 120 great-grand-kids.
Ford married her husband, John Ford, at the age of 15 and they moved to Charlotte in 1953, where they lived together for 10 years before he passed.
“Her light shined beyond her local area and she lived beyond a century with memories containing real-life experience of over 100 years,” the family statement continued. “She not only represented the advancement of our family but of the Black African American race and culture in our country.”
On Sept. 1, 2020, Mecklenburg County declared the day “Mother Hester McCardell Ford Day.”
Ford worked as a nanny for more than 20 years for two families in Myers Park, and was a long-standing member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
“Although she has passed, her legacy and memory will continue to live on through her family and everyone she has touched to make the world a better place for generations to come,” the statement said. “In closing, we would sincerely like to thank everyone for their support, extended gratitude as we keep her legacy alive. As we pause from our day-to-day activities let us reflect on how far we have come and where we are aspiring to go in the name and legacy of Mother Hester McCardell Ford.”

Wisconsin tavern shooting: 3 dead, 2 wounded, sheriff says
KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — Three people were killed and two were seriously wounded in a shooting at a busy tavern in southeastern Wisconsin early Sunday, sheriff’s officials said.
Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth said the suspect in the shooting at Somers House Tavern in Kenosha County is still at large, but that he believes the public is not in danger.
“We believe our suspect knew who he was targeting,” Beth said during a Sunday morning news conference. He asked that anyone with information about the incident contact the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department. Kenosha is about 30 miles (50 kilometers) south of Milwaukee, not far from the Wisconsin-Illinois border.
The suspect had been asked to leave the bar, but returned and opened fire. Beth said shots were fired inside and outside the bar, which he described as “very busy” at the time. He left open the possibility that there was more than one suspect. He said he believed at least one handgun was used.
Officials were still working to determine the identities of the people who died. Beth said two people died at the scene. The third person hopped in a car with two other people, who moments later flagged down a police vehicle. The officer drove the victim to a hospital where the victim was pronounced dead, Beth said.Police: FedEx shooter legally bought guns used in shooting
The two people who were wounded by gunshots were taken to area hospitals. There may have been more people with less serious injuries, and the sheriff’s department has contacted local hospitals to find them, Beth said.
He said investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the scene. The tavern installed video cameras a couple years ago, Beth said, but he didn’t know if the surveillance video is from the business.
A man who lives near the bar, Peter Ploskee, told WLS-TV he heard gun shots, looked out a window and saw “people running from the bar in every direction.”
“It was just chaos,” he said. “People are just running, people screaming.”
It was the latest in a recent string of mass shootings across the country, including the killings of eight people at a FedEx warehouse in Indianapolis on Thursday. Last month, four people were killed at an office shooting in California, eight people were fatally shot at massage businesses in the Atlanta area, and 10 died in gunfire at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado.
The nearby city of Kenosha was the scene of serious unrest last summer, after police shot a young Black man, Jacob Blake, leaving him paralyzed. A white Illinois teenager was accused of fatally shooting two people during the Kenosha protests. Kyle Rittenhouse of Antioch, is charged with homicide and attempted homicide in the Aug. 25 shootings. He has pleaded not guilty and says he fired in self-defense.

Chris Cuomo: Police reform comes when ‘white people’s kids start getting killed’
CNN anchor Chris Cuomo said gun laws and police reform will happen when “white people’s kids start getting killed.”
The host of “Cuomo Prime Time,” who just last month claimed on-air to be “black on the inside,” claims to have the answer on gun and police reform.
“Shootings, gun laws, access to weapons. Oh, I know when they’ll change,” said the anchor. “[When] your kids start getting killed. White people’s kids start getting killed.”
Cuomo at one point in the monologue attempted to affect the hypothetical accent of a confused white parent, asking:
“What’s going on with these police? Maybe we shouldn’t even have police,” he said, before directly addressing the whiteness of his audience:
“That kind of madness. That kind of mania. That will be you. That will be the majority. Because it’s your people,” said Cuomo, while looking into the camera.
