Florida Man Killed Parents, Brother After Being Kicked Out Over Theft of $210K He Sent to Woman He Met on Porn Site
A Florida man killed his parents and brother after he was kicked out of his home and accused of stealing $210,000 from his family to send to a woman he had met on a porn website, according to a sheriff’s office.
Grant Amato, 29, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his parents, Chad and Margaret Ann Amato, and brother Cody.
Seminole County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the victims’ bodies Friday in their Chuluota home after a co-worker reported that Cody Amato had not shown up for work.
Grant Amato was arrested and ordered held without bail Monday.
According to an affidavit, Cody Amato’s girlfriend told deputies Grant Amato had stolen $60,000 and guns from his brother. She said Grant Amato had recently been kicked out of a training program to become a nurse anesthetist and stole the money to talk to a Bulgarian woman he met online. She also said Cody Amato told her he was afraid Grant “would kill everyone.”
Another brother, Jason Amato, told investigators Grant had stolen $150,000 from their father, including a loan taken out on his parents’ house, and had sent the woman over $200,000 in a three-month period.
In an interview with investigators, Grant Amato said he had argued with his parents over his relationship with the woman he met through an adult website in June, and that his parents told him he could have no contact with her if he wanted to continue living at their home.
Amato said he began a 60-day internet- and sex-addiction treatment program in Fort Lauderdale in late December at his parents’ request, but he left Jan. 4.
“Grant Amato initially agreed to the rules his father had set, but he didn’t think they were fair because he felt that the Bulgarian female was his girlfriend and they had a relationship,” the affidavit said.
According to the affidavit, in response to seeing crime-scene pictures of his parents and brother, Amato said “his family had been blaming him for months for ruining their lives … so he might as well be blamed for this, too.”
“There’s some issues there, I think we have some mental health issues,” Jeffery Dowdy, Amato’s public defender, told WOFL-TV .
Amato is scheduled for arraignment March 26.
The Orlando Sentinel reported that last year, authorities responded twice to calls about Amato’s behavior.
In June, Orlando police responded to AdventHealth Orlando, where he worked as a nurse, about a report of a suicidal person. Officers said Amato did not meet the criteria to be held for observation as a danger to himself or others, but he was arrested on a grand theft charge for allegedly stealing vials of Propofol, a powerful sedative.
Amato said he took the drug for patients who were not “adequately relaxed by doctor-ordered medication,” according to a police report. Prosecutors opted against filing charges against him.
On Dec. 20, his mother and brother reported that Amato was missing, depressed and possibly suicidal after losing his job and failing out of school. They also told deputies Amato had access to guns.
Jail records did not show whether Amato had an attorney.

Elfen’s What’s Old To You Is New To Me Underground Hip Hop Monday
This weeks What’s Old To You Is New To Me Underground Hip Hop Monday artist of the week is Marlowe.
“An artist afraid to overreach himself is as useless as a general who is afraid to be wrong.”
Over a half-century later, the axiom remains true for hyper-kinetic hip-hop innovators, North Carolina’s L’Orange and Solemn Brigham—the hard-boiled duo behind the fun house fever dream, Marlowe.
Released on Mello Music Group, Marlowe is a triumph of ambition, a rap bricolage blending prohibition and civil rights-era samples with Asian psychedelic rock flourishes. Solemn Brigham controls the microphone like a general who can’t help but be right. His flow is a blitzkrieg. It’s an Olympian sprint, gliding over snares and kick-drums like hurdles. He’s a showman seeking revolution—resolute in his desire to strike equilibrium between awareness and entertainment.
Solemn applies the fictional protagonist’s search for the truth towards different ends. His crimes are existential yet specific, rooted in the injustices of the past and the attempt to redress them in the present. He’s an artist perennially seeking something to fight for, channeling energy from the music of the civic rights era, stealing timeless rhythms and inflection from classic funk and soul. An old soul with original ideas, tapping into the eternal reservoir of Sam Cooke to Ice Cube, Otis Redding to Chuck D, Curtis Mayfield to KRS-One.
Over the course of 17 tracks, Solemn hurls sharp darts at counterfeits trying to crack his religion, the onslaught of time, and prevaricating rappers—all while paying homage to those who paved the road for him. He bounces off the beats like a trampoline placed in a speakeasy, doubling up on the vocals, burrowing into dense cryptic tangles of slang and then stretching them out with melodic ease.
With dazzling cinematic mise en scene, L’Orange crafts a world that sounds like an old-time medicine show dropped into 90s Brooklyn, with Solemn summoning the holy spirit of Big L. Cymbals crash, drums pound, fuzzy guitars ride out, a bronze rain of horns cascade. This is gorgeous celestial dust, high-powered fuel with every syllable meticulously ordained. Marlowe cracked the case, but how they did it can only become clear under deeper investigation.
Solemn got some killa rhymes. Just click play and you can decide if this album Is garbage or a head banga!!

Iowa teen found dead after running away over fight with parents over cellphone
Article via NBCNews
“At this time, there is no evidence or information that indicates criminal activity is connected to this,” according to a statement by Marshalltown police.
A 13-year-old Iowa boy who ran away after his parents took away his cellphone was found dead not far from his home, police said Monday.
Corey Brown of Marshalltown, Iowa, hadn’t been seen since Tuesday night before searchers discovered his body in a “secluded area” of town at about 10:45 a.m. CT (11:45 a.m. ET) on Sunday, according to a police statement.
The spot where Corey was found was less than 1.5 miles away from the boy’s home, Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper told NBC News on Monday.
“At this time, there is no evidence or information that indicates criminal activity is connected to this,” according to a statement by Marshalltown police. “However, this is still an active investigation and all possible scenarios will be thoroughly investigated.”
It wasn’t immediately clear if Corey was familiar with the area where he had been found.
“We believe we will be able to accurately account for his steps and whereabouts,” he said.
Tupper told reporters at a press conference Thursday night that Corey left home after the boy got into a spat his parents that ended with them taking away his cellphone.
“Anyone with kids has had discussions with their children about household rules,” Tupper said on Monday. “This was a typical parent-teenager interaction. No anger. Nothing extraordinary.”
Weather complicated the search for Corey, as the high temperature never got above 29 degrees while he was missing. The low over those four-and-a-half days bottomed out at -9 degrees on Friday morning.
More than 6 inches of snow fell on Marshalltown, which is about 50 miles northwest of Des Moines, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
An autopsy had yet to be performed by Monday morning. When surveillance cameras spotted Corey leaving home on Tuesday night, he was wearing a Seattle Seahawks knit cap, a red shirt, black pants, gray tennis shoes and lime green coat.
“He was wearing the same clothes he left home in,” Tupper said of Corey’s condition when he was found.
Azealia Banks Responds To Threats Of Legal Action Over Comments About Ireland
Article via HotNewHipHop
Azealia responds to her latest controversy.
Azealia Banks sparked some more controversy when she made offensive comments about the Irish and Irish women after an encounter on an airplane. She went on to describe Irish people as “a bunch of prideful inbred leprechauns who have ZERO global influence.”
Since her social media rant, an Irish lawyer responded to her words with a statement in which he asserted that Banks’ words are punishable by law apparently, explaining that anything deemed to be hate speech on social media is a crime.
“Hi #azeliabanks [sic] in light of your recent comments on #instagram about Irish women & Irish people generally, perhaps I can introduce you to the #CommunicationsAct2003 (s127) before you land in England,” said Tomas McGarvey.
According to McGarvey, Section 127 of the UK’s Communications Act of 2003 says that it’s an offense to “send a message that is grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character over public electronic communications network.”
Banks took to Instagram to address Mcgarvey’s new revelation and accused the threat to be spurred form racism, adding that if her actions are punishable by law, then so are the responses that she’s gotten.
“Racism at its finest,” she penned. “The eagerness to put a black woman in a cage. EL OH EL. If I’m gettin arrested then we will have to go through my DM’s and arrest each and every person who said racist things to me, which would mean you’d basically need to arrest the entire country of Ireland. I’m not sure what kind of point these folk are trying to prove but the racism keeps jumping out of them like vomit on a stomach virus. Literally cannot believe the kind of negro-hunt these folk are on about. […]The fact that these people think this should scare me into submission to let people say racist things to me so long as I dont say them back is hilarious. Arrest me and THEN do what?[…] 212 will shoot straight to the top of the charts and I will become a part of UK School curriculum, Feminist Theory, he will literally make me a HUGE star for arresting me. A blessing in disguise.”

XXXTentacion’s son born 7 months after rapper’s death
NEW YORK — Seven months after XXXTentacion was killed, the rapper’s son has been born.
Jenesis Sanchez, XXXTentacion’s girlfriend, gave birth Saturday to baby boy Gekyume Onfroy. The birth was announced Saturday evening by XXXTentacion’s mother Cleopatra Bernard.
Gekyume’s name is derived from a word the rapper created prior to his passing. His family defined it as meaning “a different state” or “next universe of thought.”
The 20-year-old rising star, whose real name is Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was fatally shot in June in Florida in what authorities called a robbery attempt. XXXTentacion’s sophomore album debuted No. 1 on the Billboard charts last March. In December, a posthumous album also reached No. 1.
Four men have been indicted by a grand jury on suspicion of first-degree murder and armed robbery in the death of XXXTentacion.

Facebook to integrate WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger
Article via BBC
Facebook plans to integrate its messaging services on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
While all three will remain stand-alone apps, at a much deeper level they will be linked so messages can travel between the different services.
Facebook told the BBC it was at the start of a “long process”.
Once complete, the merger would mean that a Facebook user could communicate directly with someone who only has a WhatsApp account. This is currently impossible as the applications have no common core.
The work to merge the three elements has already begun, reported the NYT, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 or early next year.
Shared data
Mr Zuckerberg is reportedly pushing the integration plan to make its trinity of services more useful and increase the amount of time people spend on them.
By effectively joining all its users into one massive group Facebook could compete more effectively with Google’s messaging services and Apple’s iMessage, suggested Makena Kelly on tech news site The Verge.
“We want to build the best messaging experiences we can; and people want messaging to be fast, simple, reliable and private,” said Facebook in a statement.
“We’re working on making more of our messaging products end-to-end encrypted and considering ways to make it easier to reach friends and family across networks,” it added.
The statement said there was a lot of “discussion and debate” about how the system would eventually work.
Linking the three systems marks a significant change at Facebook as before now it has let Instagram and WhatsApp operate as largely independent companies.
The NYT claimed that Mr Zuckerberg’s championing of the plan to connect the messaging system had caused “internal strife”. It was part of the reason that the founders of both Instagram and WhatsApp left last year.
The decision comes as Facebook faces repeated investigations and criticisms over the way it has handled and safeguarded user data.
Comprehensively linking user data at a fundamental level may prompt regulators to take another look at its data handling practices.
The UK’s Information Commissioner has already conducted investigations into how much data is shared between WhatsApp and Facebook.
