Woman charged with assaulting man in MAGA hat now faces deportation
(Meredith) – A woman accused of attacking a man earlier this month for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat was detained Tuesday for being in the U.S. illegally, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Rosiane Santos, 41, was charged with assault, battery and disorderly conduct after she confronted 23-year-old Bryton Turner at the Casa Vallarta Mexican Restaurant in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on Feb. 15.
Turner said he was minding his own business when Santos knocked off his MAGA hat and pushed his head down. He posted video of the altercation to Facebook and said he initially “wasn’t going to press charges,” but changed his mind when she did it again.
“It’s just a hat at the end of the day,” Turner told WBZ after the incident. “I don’t really understand why people can’t just express themselves anymore, everybody has to get mad.”
In a statement to the Boston Globe, ICE spokesman John Mohan said Santos is an “unlawfully present citizen of Brazil.”
“She has since been released from ICE custody after being entered into removal proceedings in the federal immigration courts and provided a Notice to Appear at a future date before an immigration judge,” Mohan said.
Her lawyer, Katarina Kozakova, told the newspaper that Santos has a pending green card application and is married to a U.S. citizen.
Man faces felony charge after allegedly dipping testicles in customer’s salsa
MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee man was jailed on felony charges after appearing to dip his testicles into a container of salsa that a customer had ordered online.
The delivery driver allegedly recorded it and posted a video online, saying “This is what you get when you give an 89 cents tip for an almost 30-minute drive.”
News outlets report that the passenger, 31-year-old Howard Matthew Webb, was arrested last week and charged with adulteration of food.
Dinner Delivered said the food service has fired the driver and forwarded information about her to authorities as well.
Webb remains behind bars pending a March 12 hearing.
His arrest warrant says they picked up the food for delivery from a local Mexican restaurant. The company issued a refund for the tainted food.
2 arrested in buffet brawl over crab legs
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Alabama police say a dispute over crab legs at a dinner buffet ended in a brawl that left two people facing misdemeanor charges.
Huntsville police officer Gerald Johnson says he was eating at the Meteor Buffet restaurant when a fight broke out.
Johnson tells WHNT-TV that diners were using service tongs like fencing swords and plates were shattering, and a woman was beating a man. Johnson says diners had been waiting in line for crab legs for more than 10 minutes, and they lost their tempers once the food came out.
The station reports Chequita Jenkins is charged with assaulting John Chapman, who suffered a cut on his head. Chapman is charged with disorderly conduct

Anglican Priest in Fresno Charged With Sexual Battery After Allegedly Rubbing ‘Sacred Oil’ on Men’s Genitals
Authorities in Fresno say an Anglican Church priest was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing at least 18 parishioners during his tenure at a local church.
KFSN-TV reported Jesus Antonio Castaneda Serna was arrested Sunday. He posted bail Monday.
Castaneda Serna has been charged with sexual battery after allegedly performing sexual acts on two men while he served as vicar of a Fresno church, according to the Los Angeles Times. Fresno police have spoken to three alleged victims, but they believe there may be as many as 22 victims, the newspaper reported.
The priest allegedly convinced his followers that they had sinned or were cursed and they could only be cured after being rubbed with a “sacred oil,” the Times reported, citing Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer.
Castañeda Serna allegedly told his victims that he learned the special ritual while in India and that the victim’s semen needed to be examined before they could be healed.
Castaneda served from 2007 until 2017 at Fresno’s Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Church.
A warrant for Castaneda’s arrest shows that an Anglican Church bishop reported him to police.
Eighteen parishioners came forward to report abuse, but the bishop told police many of the victims are undocumented and afraid to report the crimes to law enforcement.
Police say he was a Catholic priest from 1997 to 2006 in the town of Cowiche, Washington.
Mom Throws Toddler From Upland Balcony, Then Jumps; Baby Dies After Being Found Unresponsive
A baby girl has died after being found unresponsive by police officers at an Upland condominium complex after the infant’s mother threw a toddler from a balcony and the woman is expected to booked into jail, according to police.
The incident took place in the 600 block of North Wedgewood Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, said Capt. Marcelo Blanco of the Upland Police Department.
Responding officers arrived at the scene and discovered the toddler – a boy who appeared to be over the age of 1 – on the cement beneath the second-story balcony, according to Blanco.
The mother, who was standing on the balcony when police arrived, then jumped, landing on the ground below, he said. Both the mother and toddler survived and were transported to local hospitals.
Officers went inside the unit, where they discovered the unresponsive baby, believed to be under 1 year old. She died after being taken to a hospital.
She appeared to have internal injuries and a possible skull fracture, according to Blanco. It was not immediately known when or how she was hurt.
The toddler is in stable condition, while the mother is being treated for facial injuries, the captain said. She is expected to be booked on suspicion of homicide and corporal injury on a child causing great bodily injury, Upland police said in an updated tweet.
Blanco described the woman as being around 20 years old and confirmed she was the mother of both children.
Police are at the scene investigating; no additional details were immediately released. The motive behind the crime is also unclear.
Mom Took 3 Daughters Out to Lunch, Then Killed Them
Investigators have revealed details equally sad and chilling in the Feb. 18 murder of three young girls by their mother near Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aubrianne Moore picked up the girls from school on the pretext of a doctor’s appointment, took them out to lunch, and then shot them, police tell Fox 17.
Authorities say Moore led the girls to a wooded area one at a time and killed them with a rifle. The girls were identified as Kyrie Rodery, 8, Cassidy Rodery, 6, and Alaina Rau, 2.
Moore, who had a history of mental illness, then drove the girls’
bodies to her boyfriend’s home, where she fatally shot herself outside
the vehicle. Last year, she had been diagnosed with “unspecified
schizophrenia.”
“I believe the individual has mental illness and
as a result of that mental illness the individual can reasonably be
expected within the near future to intentionally or unintentionally
seriously physically injure self or others,” a social worker wrote in
September in a bid to have Moore committed, per WLNS.
Moore did spend some time in a hospital last year, but it’s unclear whether she received proper follow-up care upon her release. Her recent social media posts suggested she thought the girls were in danger, and investigators think that’s why she might have killed them.
“I’m guessing from what happened that she probably wasn’t taking her medication,” says the father of the older two girls. (A Coast Guard officer killed his wife and two young children in December.)
Police say a mother and daughter killed 5 family members. The mother says they all wanted to die.
A Pennsylvania woman and her teenage daughter are charged with killing five members of their own family who, the mother later told police, all “wanted to die,” according to a probable cause affidavit.
Shana S. Decree, 45, and her daughter, Dominique K. Decree, 19, are accused in Bucks County of killing their relatives, including three children, at their apartment in Morrisville, north of Philadelphia.
In separate interviews with police, the women said they and Shana Decree’s sister choked the others to death before Dominique Decree fatally choked the sister, the affidavit says. Dominique Decree’s neck had visible injuries, police observed.
“Shana advised that all, including the children, were talking about suicide,” the affidavit says.
The women both have been charged with five counts of homicide and one count of conspiracy, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said.
The pair is accused of killing Shana Decree’s children, Naa’Irah Smith, 25, and Damon Decree Jr., 13, as well as Shana Decree’s sister, Jamilla Campbell, 42, and Campbell’s 9-year-old twin daughters, Imani and Erika Allen, the prosecutor said.
Shana and Dominique Decree gave different answers about who killed whom, the affidavit states. Both said Campbell participated in the killings before Dominique Decree killed her, and Dominique Decree said she choked her aunt to death, the affidavit states.
Shana Decree is being held without bail after an arraignment Tuesday morning; Dominique Decree is expected to be arraigned Tuesday, according to the district attorney’s office.
All five bodies were found Monday in one bedroom, all faceup on or near the foot of the bed, the affidavit states.
Shana and Dominique Decree may have been involved in a murder-suicide pact, Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said Tuesday.
“As far as what the two defendants contemplated themselves, that would be pure speculation at this point,” he said, responding to a question about a murder-suicide pact as the possible motive. “That is a potentiality, though.”
CNN has not been able to reach the defendants or an attorney.
The investigation is ongoing, Weintraub said, adding it will be some time before the victims’ causes of death are released. Their remains, he said, have been taken to the coroner.
Another child of Campbell’s, a son, has been found safe; he was not at the apartment at the time of the killings, Weintraub said.
Well-being check led to grim discovery
A caseworker with the Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency visited the apartment Monday for an unannounced well-being check, along with an apartment complex maintenance worker, the affidavit states.
Shortly after 4 p.m., the worker called the Bucks County emergency line and said the apartment was in disarray and that two people in a bed were disoriented. Police showed up, and the two people, Shana and Dominique Decree, were taken to the hospital, the document states.
Police also found the apartment in disarray, with broken glass and furniture turned over, according to the affidavit.
When questioned at the hospital, Shana and Dominique Decree at first denied knowing what had happened. Dominique Decree claimed that an unknown black male had caused injuries to her neck, and she “repeatedly advised her wish to die,” the affidavit says.
Shana Decree told investigators that Campbell’s boyfriend and two unknown males came into the apartment and killed everyone, the affidavit says. After investigators told Dominique Decree that her mother had identified who did it, she also said three men carried out the killings, the affidavit says.
Later, both women said they and Campbell had killed their family members, the affidavit says.
Teacher Accused Of Ripping 11-Year-Old Girl’s Braids From Her Head
A teacher allegedly tackled an 11-year-old girl, ripping three braids from her head during a disciplinary procedure caught on school cameras. He is on leave during police and district investigations.
Mikiea Price filed a police report with the Madison Police Department in Wisconsin after hearing from her daughter, a student at Whitehorse Middle School, about the incident that transpired on February 13, according to WISC-TV. She was “crying and her lip was cracked, bleeding and she handed me three of her braids that were pulled out from her scalp,” Price told Madison 365.
Pastor Marcus Allen, who is acting as a spokesperson on behalf of Price and her family, told Yahoo Lifestyle that acting principal Rob Mueller-Owens — a “positive behavior support coach” and reportedly a 2016 guest of the White House for his work with restorative justice — had fallen on top of the girl, according to the family’s account.
“I am told that the girl and her friend had sprayed perfume on themselves in the bathroom and the scent was bothering the teacher’s allergies,” Allen told Yahoo Lifestyle. “The teacher asked who sprayed it and the class didn’t answer, so she asked [Mueller-Owens] to come in, and he targeted this one girl.”
Allen said the student admitted she used the spray and was asked to come into the hallway.
Allen personally viewed the school video and told Yahoo Lifestyle that the administrator forcefully pushed the girl out of the classroom and into a row of lockers, then lost his balance and fell on top of her.
“He stayed on top of her for 10 or 15 seconds,” Allen tells Yahoo Lifestyle.
“I don’t know how the girl’s braids were pulled out but she has two bald spots on her head,” he told Yahoo Lifestyle.
Price, who has worked as a substitute teacher at Whitehorse Middle School, said administrators didn’t call her or provide medical attention to her daughter.
The mom is not commenting, said Allen, and she’s hiring an attorney. Her daughter is too frightened to come to school.
Price told WISC-TV, “Just the whole experience is just traumatic and devastating and just confusing. I’m just disgusted at this whole incident. You know I send my kid to school to learn, and that’s a place where mothers send their kids to be comfortable in. I just feel violated in so many ways that … this even happened to her.”
The Madison Metropolitan School District released a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle, saying “As a District, we take any situation of this nature very seriously. All of our students need to be safe and supported in school, and we have a thorough investigation process and protocol that we follow. While we cannot talk about the details of a specific student or personnel situation, it is our responsibility to consider all of the facts of the situation and determine the right next steps. The staff person was put on leave while the situation was investigated. Based on that investigation, the staff person will not return to Whitehorse Middle School, and we are determining next steps. In addition, our team is coming together to create a full support plan to ensure that students is safe and fully supported at school.”
Joel DeSpain of the Madison Police Department, told The Capital Times, “It’s still being investigated and we are trying to sort out what happened. We know there is a parent involved who is making a lot of claims as to what transpired, and we, of course, are checking out those claims and any other facts that we can glean so we can come to a conclusion.”
