Britney Spears accuses paparazzi of editing photos to make her look heavier

Actors, Health, News & Info

Article via CNN

Britney Spears is not happy with newly released images of her vacationing in Miami.

The singer took to Instagram late Monday to accuse the paparazzi of editing photos of her in a bikini to make her appear “40 pounds bigger” than she really is. To prove she’s thinner, she posted a video of herself with this message, “So, this is the day after me on my boat ride. Do I look any different today than yesterday?” she says as she twirls while wearing a crop top. In the caption, she added, “People always say people or celebrities cheat with their images, but never do they question the papparazzi for selling your pic that they have messed with !!!! This was all done within the same 17 hours !!!!”

https://www.instagram.com/p/ByjUuZPAs_j/?utm_source=ig_embed

The photo agency that took the photos, MEGA, had this to say to Page Six. “We think Britney looks great and it’s ludicrous to suggest the photos or video were altered in any way,” a representative for the company said. “They were not. We shot thousands of photos of her over the weekend and are very happy to let her see the original files if she so wishes. It was good to see her happy and having fun and we wish her well.”

Spears’ Instagram post comes in the midst of the #FreeBritney social media movement, driven by some fans who believe she is a prisoner in her own home because of a court-ordered conservatorship that dates to 2008. Under its terms, the singer’s father, Jamie Spears, makes decisions about her day-to-day affairs and medical needs.

Some fans have alleged Spears also cannot access her social media accounts. Sources close to Spears previously have told CNN the claims are entirely false.

The star’s latest Instagram post shows her not only enjoying a sunny vacation but also taking control of the narrative.

CNN has reached out to Spears’ camp and MEGA for additional comment.

Mistrial declared on 8 counts in Winslow Jr. trial

News & Info

Article via ESPN

A California jury that convicted former NFL player Kellen Winslow Jr. of raping a 58-year-old homeless woman was unable to break a deadlock on eight other counts Tuesday and a judge declared a mistrial on those charges.

The judge earlier denied a defense motion to dismiss the undecided charges involving the alleged rapes of a 54-year-old hitchhiker and an unconscious teen.

Prosecutors did not immediately say whether they would retry those charges. Winslow currently faces up to nine years in prison. Conviction on all charges could bring a life sentence.

The San Diego County Superior Court jury on Monday found Winslow guilty of an attack last year on the homeless woman in Encinitas, north of San Diego. The jury also found the 35-year-old former tight end guilty of indecent exposure and lewd conduct involving two other women, but jurors found him not guilty of one count of a lewd act.

The jury told the court Monday that it was deadlocked on the other charges, but the judge had ordered them to resume deliberations on Tuesday.

All five women testified during the nine-day trial. Winslow, who played for Cleveland, Tampa Bay, New England and the New York Jets, did not take the stand.

Defense attorneys pointed out inconsistencies in the accusers’ testimonies and argued the women invented the allegations to prey on the wealth of Winslow, who reportedly earned over $40 million during his 10 seasons in the NFL.

The five women testified that they didn’t know Winslow was famous when they met him.

Prosecutors said Winslow — the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow — felt empowered by his fame to abuse the most vulnerable. Prosecutor Dan Owens told the jury of eight men and four women that Winslow is a “wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

The homeless woman in Encinitas testified that Winslow befriended her and attacked her next to his vehicle after inviting her for a coffee in May 2018.

The 54-year-old hitchhiker said he drove her to an Encinitas shopping center parking lot and raped her in his Hummer in March 2018.

A 57-year-old woman said he exposed himself to her while she tended to her garden in May 2018. The jury found him guilty of that charge Monday.

After news of the attacks broke, a woman came forward and said Winslow had raped her when she was a 17-year-old high school student in 2003. He was 19 at the time and had come home from college for the summer.

A 77-year-old woman who went to the same gym as Winslow in the nearby beach community of Carlsbad said he committed lewd acts in front of her, including touching himself, while Winslow was free on $2 million bail in February. The jury found him guilty of touching himself in front of the woman while she exercised, but not guilty of committing a lewd act in front of her on a separate occasion in the gym’s hot tub.

Defense attorney Marc Carlos questioned the credibility of the women’s claims, saying they had lied, misconstrued things or were unable to initially identify Winslow correctly. Defense lawyers also said the sex was consensual and that Winslow had cheated on his wife repeatedly with no-strings-attached sex.

Prosecutors said the crux of the women’s accusations didn’t change and that evidence included traces of Winslow’s DNA on one of the accuser’s pants and GPS locations placing him where the women said the assaults occurred.

Jurors on Friday sent a note to the judge indicating they were struggling to reach agreement.

“The jurors could benefit from an explanation as to what being under oath means,” the note said. “Additionally, how we should follow the law and not what we think the law means.”

The judge told jurors that being under oath means telling the whole truth and that they should follow the law how it is written.

Missouri woman accused of buying lingerie and condoms for a 12-year-old girl and encouraging her to have a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old man

News & Info

The Springfield News-Leader reports that 66-year-old Jo Garrison, of Springfield, was arrested last week and freed after posting bond. Charging documents say Garrison bought condoms for the girl and told her not to get pregnant when she was diagnosed last year with chlamydia.

The 18-year-old, who is charged with statutory rape, allegedly told police he tried to end the relationship, but Garrison manipulated him into continuing and bought lingerie for the girl.

Documents say Garrison told officers she was fine with the relationship. Her attorney didn’t immediately return a phone message from The Associated Press.

Missouri man says grandmother’s ashes dumped out by officer during arrest

News & Info

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) – A metro man is searching for a way to move forward after he says Kansas City police officers dumped out all he had left of his grandmother.

“You should’ve asked before you did what you did,” Deonta Words said.

Words is asking questions after he said a KCPD officer poured his grandmother’s ashes in the dirt during an arrest.

“I’m trying to figure out why was it dumped on the ground and scooped backup,” Words said.

Her ashes were kept close to his heart – in a necklace he wears every day. Words says what’s left of his grandmother is now mixed with grass and dirt.

“He never asked me what was in it, or what was it. He just went ahead and dumped it on the ground. If you thought it was some type of drug or anything you should’ve put it on a drug testing thing,” Words said. “You didn’t do that. You just dumped it out on the ground next to my money.”

Words said he was walking to a friend’s near 39th and Topping when police took him into custody on a warrant. Words said he understands the arrest, but he can’t wrap his head around a police officer dumping his grandmother’s remains on the ground.

“I don’t got nothing to say to them, at all. Nothing at all,” Words said. “They didn’t apologize about it and I ain’t got nothing to say.”

He said it brings back the pain he felt about a year ago when she passed away.

“That was the last of what I had of her,” Words said. “This is my grandmother she raised me all my life.”

He says she was like a mother.

“I miss her. I think about her every day,” Words said. “That’s my heart, that’s my baby. I’m her baby.”

Words said it seemed like police didn’t know what was in his necklace, but wishes the officer would have asked because now he’s left with nothing.

“I can’t get her back. I can’t get her ashes back. I’m going to forever think about this.”

FOX4 reached out to KCPD. They said they’d get back to us about this case specifically.

Detectives did say over the last decade, they’ve seen an increase in people wearing jewelry that conceals illegal items.

Words said he was wanted for resisting arrest.

Florida man claimed cocaine on his nose ‘was not his,’

News & Info

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida man tried to avoid arrest by telling deputies that the cocaine allegedly found on his nose “was not his,” according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

During a recent traffic stop, deputies noticed that the passenger, 20-year-old Fabricio Tueros Jimenez, had white powder around his nostrils, according to a news release. A field test came back positive for cocaine.

Jimenez had a small bag of powder cocaine “concealed on him,” deputies said, and a search of the car turned up a backpack containing 250 grams of marijuana and 13 Xanax pills.

Jimenez was arrested without incident, the sheriff’s office said. It’s not clear who the driver of the car was.

Deputies arrested Jimenez on unspecified drug charges.

Boy killed in drive-by shooting possibly meant for former tenants

News & Info

An 11-year-old who was sleeping at his new home in Texas was killed in a drive-by shooting — and cops are probing whether tenants who just moved out were the intended target, according to reports.

Kamren Cassius Jones was fast asleep in a room with several other children when he was struck by one of numerous bullets sprayed into the house in suburban Houston early Sunday.

His family had only moved into the house a few months ago and authorities are looking into whether the previous renters were the actual targets, cops told ABC13.

“There was a lot of activity, and possible criminal activity, going on prior to that,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told the station.

Gonzalez said it appeared an assault rifle had been used.

The youngster was pronounced dead at the scene. None of the other children in the room were injured.

“This is a tragic, a senseless, a sad situation,” Gonzalez said in a video tweeted out by the sheriff’s department Sunday morning. “This is a child. And these are cowards that shoot into a home. They could have killed and injured a lot more people — there were several other children sleeping in that same room. We’re going to do all we can to bring justice to this 11-year-old that lost his life this morning so tragically.”

Neighbor Donna Patterson recalled waking to the sound of nearly two dozen shots.

“There were 22 shots in perfect timing. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, 22 loud. I just thought, ‘oh my gosh, are they coming through the house?’” Patterson told KPRC.

Brooklyn Street Where Notorious B.I.G Grew up Is Renamed for the Late Rapper

News & Info

Just weeks after what would have been his 47th birthday, a street in Brooklyn, New York, was renamed on Monday for the late rapper The Notorious B.I.G.

The Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation previously announced that the stretch of St. James Place between Gates Avenue and Fulton Street will be renamed Christopher Wallace Way, according to KTLA sister station WPIX in New York City.

A large crowd gathered in the rain to witness the ceremony, video from the scene showed.

The block is where the rapper grew up and the initiative to change the name was approved by the Brooklyn Community Board 2 back in November.

“Honoring Biggie symbolizes more than just one man,” LeRoy McCarthy, who spearheaded the initiative, told Rolling Stone at the time. “It symbolizes a culture. It symbolizes a borough. It symbolizes a people, and hip-hop is worldwide.”

The Notorious B.I.G. — also known as Biggie Smalls and born Christopher Wallace — was 24 years old when he was gunned down in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997.

Napa Boy, 9, Pays Off Lunch Debts for Entire 3rd Grade Class With His Allowance

News & Info

A 9-year-old Napa boy used his allowance to pay off his fellow classmates’ outstanding lunch debts.

According to San Francisco television station KGO, cooking and mealtime are important to Ryan Kirkpatrick’s family. After a discussion with his mother about some students being unable to afford school lunches, Ryan decided he wanted to help.

He asked his mother, Kylie Kirkpatrick, to find out how much money his fellow third-graders at Napa’s Park Elementary School owed in lunch debt.

She in turn emailed the school to inquire.

“It was I think $74.50,” Kylie told KGO. “So I took that email and came to Ryan and said, ‘What do you want to do?’ and he said, ‘I guess I can pay for it.’ I said, ‘Are you sure?’ And he said, ‘Yes.'”

Ryan then used his allowance money — which normally would’ve been used on sports gear — to pay off all his classmates’ outstanding debts anonymously.

Depending on income levels, meals at Ryan’s school range in price from 30 cents to $3.25 each. District policy requires students to receive a meal even if they have a “negative lunch account,” KGO reported.

Ryan said he just wants his classmates  to know they are cared about and hopes knowing that will make them feel happy.

Video Shows Florida Burger King Employee Using Mop to Clean Tables

News & Info

An employee was caught on camera cleaning tables with a mop at a Burger King in St. Johns County, Florida, Jacksonville television station WJXT reported.

A customer recorded the video Thursday of an employee using the mop to clean tables in the kids’ area.

The customer said just minutes prior, she saw the same employee mopping the floors.

“I was just disgusted, honestly,” customer Katie Duran told WJXT. “I had just eaten on that table. Did you do that yesterday? Do you do this every night? Did you do this, this morning?”

The restaurant’s inspection reports with the state show eight violations, including vents in the kitchen containing mold and the interior of the freezer soiled with food residue.

The company called the worker’s actions “unacceptable” and said the owner of the Burger King will be re-training the restaurant staff.
