Florida mom busted for leaving child in car to work at strip club
A Florida mom was busted this week for leaving her 3-year-old daughter alone in a car for hours while she worked at a strip club, police said.
Manouchika Daniels, 23, was charged with child neglect for the Tuesday incident, according to cops.
Police say that someone called 911 at around 2 a.m. Tuesday after Daniels’ child was spotted crying and wandering around the parking lot of the Vegas Cabaret jiggle joint in Lauderhill.
The child ultimately led police officers back to a vehicle that wasn’t running and had the back window cracked, according to Lauderhill police Lt. Michael Santiago.
About 30 minutes later Daniels showed up and identified herself to the officers as the child’s mother, authorities said.
“She admitted that she just left the child there briefly while she dropped somebody off, but later in the case we realized that was not the issue,” Santiago said, according to WPLG.
Cops determined that Daniels had left the tot in the car at around 11 p.m. Monday while she worked at the strip club.
“I mean, she could’ve been seriously hurt,” Santiago said of the child. “A 3-year-old is especially vulnerable in this type of situation. You have traffic flow on University Drive and it’s dark.”
Daniels was ordered held without bond and her daughter was taken into protective custody.

White Teen Arrested For Stabbing Black Student To Death As Dozens Watched
The family of Khaseen Morris, 16, are mourning his death after he was fatally stabbed to death. The incident was caught on camera. Reportedly, over 50 people watched and recorded on their phone as Morris lost his life.
Tyler Flach, 18, has been arrested for the killing and is charged with second-degree murder. Flack, who is white, is allegedly an aspiring rapper who goes by the name “BabyTy.”
Morris attended Oceanside High School in New York. According to his sister, Keyanna Morris, “He was a person that would help anyone, and no one helped him. He told my mom this is the first time in so long that he’s been so happy because he finally found a school where he could be himself with nobody judging him.”
Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick, the commander of the Nassau County Police Homicide Division said at a press conference, “Kids stood there and didn’t help Khaseen. They videoed his death instead of helping him.”
The New York Times reports, “Witnesses at the mall said a car drove up, then a group of boys emerged and rushed Khaseen and his friends. Video footage shows Khaseen collapsing to the ground, as teenagers around him film his fall but do not come to his aid, the police said.”
The New York Times also reports, “On Sunday, she said, a 10th-grade girl asked her brother to walk her home and he obliged. Ms. Morris said she believed that the girl had been trying to make her ex-boyfriend jealous. It appears to have worked.”
Khaseen reportedly received threatening text messages the night before he was killed.
According to Newsday, Flach “strongly maintains his innocence” and “took the responsible step of self-surrendering to eventually clear his name.”
Our condolences goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy and we hope Khaseen Morris’ family gets justice.

Teacher drove to school drunk, was 4 times over legal limit
A high school teacher in Michigan arrived at work drunk and epically failed a Breathalyzer, blowing more than four times the legal limit, police said.
The 44-year-old teacher showed up to work at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeland High School in White Lake Township, and administrators immediately suspected he was drunk. He admitted to heavily imbibing before driving to school, WXYZ reports.
A Breathalyzer test revealed the man’s blood-alcohol content was .354 percent, or more than four times the state’s legal limit of .08 percent.
The teacher was escorted off school grounds, according to a statement released by administrators.
“A shelter in place was called so that students did not witness the situation,” the statement read. “The staff member will not be on campus while this matter is pending.”
The teacher, from West Bloomfield, is expected to be arraigned Thursday on charges of operating while intoxicated and driving on a suspended license, WDIV reports. He also had a warrant out for his arrest on identical charges stemming from an October 2018 incident, the station reports.

88-year-old widow violently robbed of thousands she saved for late husband’s gravestone
EAST VILLAGE — Police are looking for a man accused of attacking and robbing a woman in her Manhattan apartment, stealing thousands she had saved up to buy a headstone for her late husband’s grave.
Just before noon Saturday, Maximina Osorio was arriving home at her Alphabet City apartment, near East 10th Street and Avenue D, when the unidentified man grabbed her from behind after she unlocked her door, police said. Police identified Osorio as being 89 years old, but she later told PIX she is 88.
Authorities said the man pushed Osorio through her doorway and to the ground before demanding to know, “Where’s the money?”
Osorio told PIX11 Thursday that the attacker told her to “shut up,” and not to scream, even grabbing her face and nearly choking her to stop her from making noise.
The frightened widow told the thief that her money was in a drawer in her bedroom, according to police.
The man proceeded to take $5,000 in cash from the woman’s bedroom before fleeing her apartment, officials said.
Osorio said she had been saving the money for two years and was planning to use it to buy a gravestone for her late husband Salvatore. The couple were married for 50 years until his death about a year ago.
Her husband’s death isn’t the only tragedy the resilient woman has known. Osorio told PIX11 she also had to bury a daughter in the past.
After the violent robbery, Osorio complained of neck and back pain, police said. EMS responded and she was taken to a local hospital.
Osorio said she spent three days in the hospital and is worried about a head injury.
While police have only released information about one man wanted in connection with the robbery, Osorio said he had an accomplice in the robbery, and that her attacker spoke both English and Spanish.
The NYPD has released the below surveillance images of one man they’re looking for. They describe him as standing about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with a full beard. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt, a blue t-shirt, white sneakers, a backpack, and a black and blue Philadelphia Flyers baseball cap, authorities said.
A local woman has launched a GoFundMe for Osario.

800-Pound Opioid Spoon Dropped At Johnson & Johnson’s HQ
An artist placed an 800-pound opioid spoon outside the front entrance to Johnson & Johnson’s world headquarters in New Brunswick.
A Boston-based artist placed an 800-pound opioid spoon outside the front entrance to Johnson & Johnson’s world headquarters in New Brunswick on Wednesday. Anyone trying to enter J&J’s office building had to walk around the giant metal spoon, etched with the initials “J&J” on its handle.
The artist, Dominic Esposito, spoke to Patch about his protest performance art, and said he expects to get plenty of push-back for what he did. But he wants to start a conversation about the danger of prescription painkillers and opioid addiction in America.
“The balance has been a hard line for us to toe: Even as a group we are not totally against opioids: For example, their use for acute cancer patients or for after an operation. Yes, there is a use for them in society,” said Esposito. “But our society has also been handing them out like candy for the past 20 years. Opiate painkillers are very dangerous drugs and should be treated as such.”
Esposito kept his ten-foot long spoon up Wednesday until New Brunswick police asked him to move it to a public space near the building. He complied, saying it wasn’t worth it for him to have the artwork confiscated or be arrested.
“I’ve gotten hate mail from people after yesterday, telling me that it’s addicts’ own fault if they are addicted,” he told Patch. “Or telling me they need the painkillers. I think some people don’t even realize they are addicted …. But to at least spark conversation makes me feel like I’m getting somewhere.”
In April of this year, Johnson & Johnson was hit with an unprecedented $572 million fine after it was sued by the state of Oklahoma for downplaying the addiction risks of its opiate painkillers. Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter sued the pharmaceutical giant for what he says is their role in causing opiate devastation in that state. Johnson & Johnson is currently appealing the fine.
“Johnson
& Johnson did not cause the opioid crisis in Oklahoma, or
elsewhere,” Johnson & Johnson vice president, Ernie Knewitz told NJ.com Wednesday, adding that opioids are regulated by the FDA and the DEA.
“At the same time, we recognize that the opioid crisis is a tremendously
complex public health issue and have deep sympathy for everyone
affected.”
“I just feel like there is so much finger pointing
in all this: Someone blames Big Pharma, someone blames the DEA, someone
blames the CDC,” said Esposito. “Meanwhile, you have people literally
dying from these drugs. And they are still prescribing this stuff.”
According to the New York Times, Johnson & Johnson contracts with poppy farmers in Tasmania and supplies 60 percent of the opiates in drugs such as oxycodone.
In fact, Johnson & Johnson even developed a special strain of poppy, giving it the name “Norman.” This is the strain that produces the core pain-blocking derivative found in Oxycontin, said Esposito, who has long researched the company.
Johnson & Johnson owns subsidiary Janssen Pharmaceuticals, also headquartered in New Jersey and which also makes its own opioids and produces the fentanyl patch.
New Brunswick is only Esposito’s most recent stop: Last year, he dropped his opioid spoon outside the headquarters of Purdue Pharmaceuticals in Stamford, Connecticut. Purdue is credited as the original maker of the oxycodone generic, and the company is now bankrupt after they were hit by dozens of lawsuits. In February, he dropped a spoon outside the headquarters of Rhodes Pharma in Rhode Island, to highlight the fact that even as Purdue was being fined due to an earlier suit, they opened Rhodes Pharma to continue producing and selling opioids.
This past April, Esposito and his team dropped a spoon outside the federal Health & Human Services building in Washington, D.C. That spoon was stamped FDA. They track their work on https://www.theopioidspoonproject.com/
For the artist, it’s personal: His own brother has been struggling for the past 12 years with substance abuse.
“My mom would call me in this panic voice that she found a spoon in the house,” he told NJ.com. “It was the peak of my brother’s 12-year battle with addiction.”
He alluded that there will likely be future “spoon drops” in the future, although wouldn’t say where.
“It’s worth it for me to do this. Every time someone comes up to me and tells me they have a family member struggling with opiate addiction, it’s worth it,” Esposito told Patch.

A Romanian TV show host has been accused of ‘extreme racism’ after saying Serena Williams looks like one of ‘those monkeys at the zoo’ live on air
A Romanian TV show host said Serena Williams looks like a “monkey” whilst live on air.
“Serena Williams looks exactly like one of those monkeys at the zoo with the red asses,” said Radu Bancui whilst presenting the late evening show on B1 TV. “If monkeys wore trousers, they’d look exactly like Serena Williams does on the court.”
Bancui has been fined $1,875 by the National Council for Combatting Discrimination (CNCD) who referred to his comments as “extreme racism.”
Williams has been a victim of racial abuse on numerous occassions, including when she was the subject of a cartoon which depicted her as an angry baby with an oversized nose and lips.
A Romanian TV show host said Serena Williams looks like “those monkeys at the zoo” while live on air.
Radu Bancui, 49, made the comment while hosting the late evening show on B1 TV.
“Serena Williams looks exactly like one of those monkeys at the zoo with the red asses,” Bancui said, according to a translated press release from the National Council for Combating Discrimination (CNCD) in Bucharest.
“If monkeys wore trousers, they’d look exactly like Serena Williams does on the court.”
Bancui has been fined $1,875 for the comments, however it does not appear that he will lose his job.
“The governing board shows that slavery of people of color was based, among other things, on their comparison with monkeys,” reads the statement from the CNCD, translated by Insider’s associate translation editor Ruqayyah Moynihan. “As a result, such statements express a form of extreme racism.”
This isn’t the first time Williams has been subjected to racial abuse.
At the Sony Ericsson Championship in Miami in 2007, a heckling fan was removed for shouting: “That’s the way to do it! Hit the net like any Negro would!” at her, according to The Washington Post.
Most infamously, after the US Open final in 2018, Australian newspaper The Herald Sun twice printed a cartoon depicting Williams as an angry baby with an oversized nose and lips.
Alex Ohanion, Williams’ husband, branded the cartoon by Mark Knight “racist and misogynistic,” however an Australian media watchdog ruled it not so, claiming the drawing merely showed Williams “in a highly animated tantrum.”
Williams, who lost in the US Open final to teenager Bianca Andreescu earlier this month, recently slipped to ninth place in the WTA’s tour rankings, with Australian Ashleigh Barty ranked first.

Church’s message to air conditioning thieves: ‘It’s hot where you’re going’
AKRON, Ohio — Someone stole the air conditioning unit from Akron Alliance Fellowship Church in Ohio about three weeks ago, according to Pastor Gus Brown.
It was a loss of $3,500 for the church that sits on Diagonal Road in Akron.
“It was a brand new unit that we had just put in. We hadn’t even made the first payment on it yet, it had only been in a few days,” Brown told WJW.
The church immediately called Akron police.
“They cut the wires nicely, they cut the tubing with a tubing cutter. They had to know what they were doing. It had to be at least two, because one person would not have been able to pick it up,” Brown said.
In the meantime, the church put up a new sign that reads: “Whoever stole our A C Unit: Keep it. It’s hot where you’re going.”
Brown said the meaning is clear.
“That you are wrong and staying on this path will only get you one place. And we don’t want you to go there. Our desire is to even see him at our church one day,” Brown said.
Bible studies and services will continue, despite this weekend’s heat.
The church plans to hold an offering plate this Sunday for the AC fund.

Image shows Ohio day care worker dangling 5-year-old girl upside down
An Ohio day care worker charged with child endangerment for not stepping in when a 5-year-old girl was assaulted can be seen in a police-released photo holding the little girl upside-down by her ankles.
The disturbing image was shared by the Columbus Police Department following the Sept. 10 arrest of Worthington Learning Center workers Joshua Tennant, 27, and Emma Dietrich, 31.
“While we are protecting the identity of the 5yo victim we want to share with you the severity of what [the] little girl endured in a learning center,” the department tweeted, along with the image.
“Actions by educators who are now facing criminal charges.”
Tennant and Dietrich were busted after the video emerged of the pair standing by as older students bullied and assaulted the “frightened” girl on Aug. 13, police said.
The two admitted they refused to stop the attack as a twisted form of discipline, according to court documents cited by WCMH.
“In the video, the older students are grabbing, pulling, dragging, swinging and just ‘bullying’ [the girl],” police said in an incident report.
“She appears frightened and keeps her eyes closed or covered and attempts to curl up into a fetal position.”
The girl then tried to get away from the older students, but she was held down. As the bullying continued, police said Dietrich and Tennant “continually” sat at a table nearby and took no steps to stop the onslaught.
Later in the footage, Tennant picked up the 5-year-old girl by her right ankle and left leg and carried her upside down, placing her back on a rug near her tormentors, police said.

Teen admits to serving teacher semen-tainted crepe in cooking class
An Ohio teen was sentenced to jail time after he admitted to serving a teacher a semen-tainted crepe as part of a sick joke during a cooking competition at his middle school, a report said this week.
The 15-year-old admitted to bringing in a bag of his semen and dumping it on the french dessert before serving it to his teacher at Olentangy Hyatts Middle School in May, local news station KUTV reported.
He was sentenced to 30 days in a detention center and ordered to complete community service, according to the report.
Seven other students — who were not publicly identified — are also accused of assault and other crimes for their roles in the disgusting prank.
One other student facing charges allegedly soaked barbecue sauce with his urine and served it to four unsuspecting teachers, according to CBS affiliate WBNS.
The sickening joke played out while the teachers were judging a cooking class as part of the “Global Gourmet” course at the school.
Video obtained by WBNS shows one of the students dump a liquid from a plastic bag onto a crepe before presenting it to the panel of teachers.
The video then shows a teacher eating it and quizzing the student about its ingredients.
“Is this made with goat milk or cow’s milk?” the teacher asks the student, according to the video
“Uhh, cow’s milk,” the teen responds.
“Is it fresh-squeezed cow’s milk?” another teacher asks, before another teacher interrupts to say: “I’m not even gonna lie, it tastes really good.”

Masseur allegedly sodomized woman left ‘paralyzed by fear’
Missouri masseur repeatedly sodomized a woman who was “paralyzed by fear” during a 90-minute session from hell, the frightened victim told police.
The 45-year-old woman told cops she was sexually assaulted multiple times by a masseur on Friday at Oasis Foot Spa & Massage in St. Peters, where she was alone inside a closed-door massage room with Xing Wu Zhang, 61, according to court documents obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The woman told cops on Saturday that she considered leaving the room, but was worried what might happen if she decided to do so because she was at the location by herself, court documents show.
“But she told me she was ‘paralyzed by fear,’” St. Peters police Detective Erin O’Neal wrote in the documents.
Zhang, of O’Fallon, was charged with two counts of second-degree sodomy. The Chinese national allegedly sexually assaulted the woman using his fingers and mouth, penetrating her several times, KSDK reports.
Zhang also put his mouth on the woman’s breasts and genitals — and used a wet towel to clean the areas afterward in a possible attempt to clean up any DNA he left behind, the woman told police.
Zhang, who denied the accusations through an interpreter, claimed the woman had exposed herself during the session but he chose to ignore it, KSDK reports.
Zhang also told cops he was supposed to board a flight for China at 4 p.m. Saturday, prompting a judge to order that he hand over his passport. He was being held at the St. Charles County Jail on $50,000 cash-only bond, the Post-Dispatch reports.
If convicted of second-degree sodomy, Zhang faces up to four years in prison.
A woman who answered the phone at the business told The Post that Zhang had been hired in February before declining further comment.
Zhang’s employer, meanwhile, has said a surveillance video taken minutes after the alleged assault shows the woman calm and in no apparent distress as she checked out. The woman even thanked staff and said she’d be back for another rubdown, the boss claimed. Prosecutors now plan on verifying that footage, KTVI reports.
