Man accused of trying to pay prostitute with hamburger caught in police sting

News & Info

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man was arrested during a prostitution sting in southeast Albuquerque on Tuesday.

According to a criminal complaint, 36-year-old Dominic Calderon rode a bicycle up to an undercover APD officer posing as a prostitute in the area of Central and San Pablo SE. The complaint states after agreeing on terms and a price, Calderon asked for the officer’s phone number because he wasn’t going to have enough money until Friday.

That’s when the undercover officer noticed Calderon was carrying a “To-Go” bag from Chili’s. The officer asked what was in it and Calderon told her it was a hamburger. The officer then told Calderon her fee could be the burger. Calderon agreed and was arrested.

After officers ran Calderon’s information, they found he was a sex offender on probation. Police say Calderon’s status was confirmed by the probation office and his probation was revoked and upgraded to a felony warrant.

Calderon’s arrest is one of 11 different prostitution arrests all made on January 28 along Central Avenue. The hamburger was tagged into evidence.

Woman arrested for shooting her boyfriend to death is pregnant by another man

News & Info

ST. LOUIS – Several twists in our ongoing Fox Files reporting about a shooting death reported as an accident. Fox 2 revealed questions about the shooter’s response in our investigations last November and December.

Victoria Haungs made her first appearance in court Friday and dropped a bombshell that seemed to catch everyone off guard.

The only booking photo available for Haungs shows only half of her face.

The victim’s mother, Jamie Coley, feels it’s another example of the shooter failing to take responsibility.

“They don’t want you to know who she is and they don’t want the story to be told period,” she said.

Jamie’s only son, 24-year-old Reco Coley, died last July when Haungs shot him in Bellefontaine Neighbors.

Haungs told police it was an accident, but for months, Coley has questioned the time it took Haungs to get help. She says it can all be seen on surveillance video from down the street where it happened.

A grand jury indicted 26-year-old Haungs for second-degree involuntary manslaughter in November. This week, she was picked up by law enforcement in St. Francois County.

“I had to fight to try to find her. We’ve been looking everywhere for her,” Coley said.

Haungs seemed to surprise everyone in court when asking for a bond reduction. The State was asking for a $50,000 cash-only bond. Haungs said she was 12 weeks pregnant.

“That was all new information,” Coley said. “How are you going to get pregnant when you just killed my son? And you were just going with him! So how does that make sense that you were just going with someone, madly in love, which you would never hurt this person, but you accidentally shoot them and then when you shoot them you go lay up with someone else and get pregnant?”

The judge listened to Jamie Coley’s concerns and denied the defendant’s bond reduction request. Coley and her husband walked out of court feeling like the justice system will finally hear about what happened to her only son.

Mother charged after 2-year-old fatally shoots himself at Alabama Red Roof Inn

News & Info

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A mother and her friend face charges after police say a toddler accidentally shot and killed himself in Mobile, Alabama Thursday morning.

“I don’t know what to say right now,” Corey Davis Sr., the father of 2-year-old Corey Davis Jr., told WKRG.

Mobile Police said Davis Jr. accidentally shot himself after he found a loaded pistol in a motel room at the Red Roof Inn on I-65 near Dauphin Street.

“He really didn’t get to have fun with his life, but God calls you up for a reason,” said Curtis Davis, the boy’s uncle. Davis said he’s still in disbelief after receiving a frantic call from his brother on Thursday.

“I couldn’t understand what he was really saying so he told me to come,” Davis said.

When he got there, his family gave him the tragic news.

“I felt like he was one of my sons because he belonged to my brother. We were just all sad and motionless,” Davis said. “I really don’t know how it feels to lose a son because I don’t have any children, but I know his pain.”

Davis said he hopes his nephew’s demise will send a powerful message.

“Just be safer. Put those guns down. Don’t have them around the children, put them in a safe spot. I hate it had to happen, but God brings you up for a reason,” Davis said.

WKRG reached out to the mother’s family to give them an opportunity to speak about Davis Jr.’s death. They respectfully told her they did not want to be bothered.

The child’s mother, 29-year-old Dynesha Harris, and her friend Tony Fowler are both charged with manslaughter. Police said their “extreme recklessness” caused the death of the toddler. Harris is out of jail on a $7,500. Fowler is still in jail without bond. Charges could be upgraded pending autopsy results.

A couple alleges they were kicked off a flight because of their religion. American Airlines claims it was their body odor

News & Info

A Michigan couple is suing American Airlines for discrimination, alleging in a lawsuit that an airline agent kicked them off a flight for what the employee said was “extremely offensive body odor” and told them he knew that “Orthodox Jews take baths once a week.”

Yehuda Yosef Adler and Jennie Adler say in the lawsuit they do not have offensive body odor. They are accusing the airline of discriminating against them because of their religion and defaming them, and say that they experienced embarrassment and humiliation and defamation because of the incident last year.

In January 2019, the couple, along with their 19-month-old daughter, boarded an American Airlines flight from Miami to Detroit. Within five minutes of taking their seats, the couple was approached by an agent who told them that they needed to deplane because there was an emergency, according to a lawsuit filed January 28 with the District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Once the couple stepped off the plane, the agent told them that the pilot had booted them because they had “extremely offensive body odor,” the lawsuit said. The couple said they were shocked because they had never received complaints about their body odor on flights, and that they had showered that morning, the lawsuit said.

The agent responded by saying he knew that Orthodox Jews take baths once a week, according to the lawsuit.

The Adlers said they were distraught and that despite their embarrassment, they approached more than 20 people in the boarding area to ask if they could detect an unpleasant body odor from the family, the lawsuit said.

“Each and every person … answered in the negative,” according to the lawsuit.

And despite multiple pleas to re-board, the couple said the plane took off without them, leaving them without their luggage, their child’s car seat, stroller and diapers. The Adlers claimed that they were not able to get on another flight to their destination until the next day.

“At that point the Adlers were confused, deeply humiliated, disrespected, lost, perplexed, and at a complete loss. They were utterly puzzled,” the lawsuit reads. “The Adlers were being discriminated against because of their race, religion and nationality.”

American Airlines says religion was not a factor

American Airlines denies the incident had anything to do with the couple’s religion.

“The Adler family was asked to deplane after multiple passengers and our crew members complained about Mr. Adler’s body odor,” the company said Friday in a statement to CNN.

“The decision was made out of concern for the comfort of our other passengers. Our team members took care of the family and provided hotel accommodations and meals, and re-booked them on a flight to Detroit the next morning. None of the decisions made by our team in handling this sensitive situation were based on the Adlers’ religion.”

In the lawsuit, the couple said they were singled out because they were visibly Jewish. Yehuda Yosef Adler was wearing a yarmulke, and Jennie Adler was wearing a long skirt and a shaytel, a wig worn by some Orthodox Jewish women after marriage to cover their hair, according to the lawsuit.

They also said in the lawsuit that the pilot was rude to them as soon as they boarded the plane.

When Yehuda Yosef Adler boarded, he said he asked the flight attendant for headphones, the lawsuit said. The crew on the flight they had been on the previous day told them that anytime they needed anything, including headphones, they should feel free to ask, according to the lawsuit.

But the pilot, who overheard the request, responded, “I wasn’t on that plane and we don’t offer anything complimentary,” Adler alleges in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit also says the couple was defamed

In addition to the allegations of discrimination, the lawsuit accuses American Airlines of defamation, saying American’s statements about the couple’s body odor to several news outlets were humiliating and false.

“Today, a search of ‘body odor’ includes results showing the Adler name,” the lawsuit reads.

Man on bond for attempted murder of ex-girlfriend returns to Hammond and kills her

News & Info

A man released on a nearly $8,000 bond for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend allegedly returned to the crime scene three months later and fatally shot her Wednesday, prosecutors in northwest Indiana say.

Charles Goforth, 56, was arrested Thursday in Missouri and charged with the murder of 55-year-old Sylvia Williams, according to Hammond police.

“A very frustrating case,” Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. said in a statement posted to Facebook. “Hammond police caught and arrested the same man in November … then, a few weeks later, he returned to the same house and killed [Williams],” he wrote.

“The system failed the victim in this case,” McDermott wrote. “The violent felon should have never been set free on bond in the first place.”

Before the murder, Goforth “constantly” called her to “smooth things over” because he did not want to go to jail for the previous murder attempt, according to a court document provided by Lake County prosecutors.

A relative found Williams dead on the floor of her home Wednesday morning in the Sheffield Estates mobile home park with seven bullets in her body: five from the Wednesday shooting and two from the previous murder attempt, prosecutors said in a court document.

Williams was pronounced dead at a hospital at 8:15 a.m., and her death was ruled a homicide, the Lake County coroner’s office said.

NJ woman reported missing after visiting medium found dead, prosecutors say

News & Info

A body found over the weekend in New Jersey is a 25-year-old woman reported missing nearly three months ago after visiting a medium, prosecutors said Monday.

“It is with great sadness we announce that Stephanie Parze’s remains were recovered yesterday in Old Bridge,” the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office tweeted Monday morning.

Her body was found Sunday afternoon in a wooded area, near where her family had searched for her in late November, online news outlet Tap Middletown reported.

Police were expected to provide more details at a press conference scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Authorities said Parze’s ex-boyfriend John Ozbilgen, 29, killed himself in November after his release from jail on a child porn charge and he is being fingered as a person of interest in her disappearance.

Ozbilgen had been accused of sending Parze profanity-filled threats the day before she disappeared.

After Parze went missing, police charged Ozbilgen with possessing child pornography after searching his home. After the charge was filed, he was jailed and released on bond.

Parze’s visited a medium with friends on Oct. 30. She was reported missing the next day.

Meghan Markle’s first gig will be reality-TV show about second weddings

News & Info

Meghan Markle‘s first post-Royal TV gig — albeit part-time — will be a Canadian reality show about second weddings, The Post has learned.

Markle, 38, will make multiple appearances on “I Do, Redo,” joining her best friend, Toronto wedding stylist Jessica Mulroney, who is the star of the upcoming Netflix show, according to a source close to the production team.

Her guest spots will be “sporadic,” according to the source, who would not say if Markle will be paid.

Union scale for a guest role on Canadian TV is $588 a day, which could jump-start the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ newly announced effort to become “financially independent.”

The 10-part series “revisits first-time wedding disasters before re-making the wedding dreams of 10 devoted couples,” according to a press release.

Markle — once divorced, and now married to her own prince — certainly has the resume to help brides remarry their Prince Charmings in the weddings of their dreams.

It was only two years ago when the American princess celebrated her own version of “I Do, Redo” with a lavish celebrity-studded ceremony and series of parties in Britain, which cost more than $42 million. Her wedding dress was designed by Givenchy, and her custom-made engagement ring was made from a diamond sourced from Botswana and two smaller stones from Harry’s mother’s — Princess Diana’s — collection.

Mulroney, 39, shot to international celebrity as Markle’s matron of honor, posing for the world’s cameras in a snug, royal blue dress by Canadian designer Antoinette Di Carlo. Her three young children also participated in the royal wedding party.

After frequent appearances on “Good Morning America,” where she gives advice on how to dress on a budget, Mulroney was tapped to star in the reality show, which features couples in the US and Canada.

Markle, who has been living in a billionaire’s mansion in Vancouver with infant son Archie since her dramatic split from the British royals in January, is currently shopping for a Hollywood agent, according to reports last week. Prince Harry recently moved to Canada to join his wife and son.

Last month, Markle signed a deal with Disney to do voice-over work on an unspecified project in exchange for a donation to an elephant charity she supports.

Few details have emerged about the wedding series, although Mulroney has posted some outtakes showing her traveling with a film crew, with stops in Florida and Connecticut as well as the Caribbean to her Instagram account.

“I am so blessed that I can show the world a side of myself that truly inspires me,” said Mulroney in a social media post after the show was announced last year. “A side of the wedding industry that has never been shown on television.”

Mulroney is married to the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and met Markle while the former actress was based in Toronto to film “Suits,” where she starred as Rachel Zane, a paralegal in a law firm.

Mulroney recently angered fans of Markle’s sister-in-law Kate Middleton when she appeared to dismiss photo portraits that Middleton had taken of British Holocaust survivors.

“Pretty pictures are pretty pictures,” wrote Mulroney on social media just as Middleton posted her photos for International Holocaust Remembrance Day last week. “Strive to use your platform for good and spread stories of incredible people striving to make this world a better place.”

The brutal backlash from Middleton fans on social media prompted Mulroney’s husband, Ben, to defend her online, saying that his wife’s post was linked to a campaign to help victims of flight 752, which was shot down in Iran last month.

Repeated calls and emails to the Toronto offices of Insight Productions and Matador Content in Manhattan, which are involved in the production of the series were not returned last week.

A Toronto-based publicist who is working on Mulroney’s show refused comment on Markle Friday, but said that filming on “I Do, Redo” is still not complete, and that no date had been set for its premiere. Saturday afternoon, the Canadian network, CTV Communications, tweeted out a statement saying “The Duchess of Sussex does not appear in upcoming @CTV series I do Redo.”

The 30-minute episodes will be streamed internationally on Netflix, which is co-producing the show along with Canada’s Bell Media.

NikkieTutorials Says Police Have Identified Her Blackmailers

Hair & Beauty, News & Info

“With the help of police, we have found out who exactly was blackmailing me,” she said. “I have their names, their phone numbers, email addresses.”

NikkieTutorials has shared her first YouTube video since coming out as transgender earlier this month.

On Tuesday, the beauty vlogger, whose real name is Nikkie de Jager, posted a video to her channel titled, “Responding To My Coming Out,” and opened up about the outpouring of support she’s received after sharing her story. Nikkie, who has a whopping 13.1 million subscribers, also “cleared up” some questions about her blackmailers, who had allegedly threatened to reveal she was trans.

The makeup guru first began the video by explaining that she was going to do some “makeup therapy.”

“For weeks I was struggling to decide what my next video should be because, how do you follow up a coming out video?” Nikkie said. “I didn’t know what to post after that. But there’s one thing that has always helped me, even through my darkest times, and that is makeup.”

Nikkie then recalled her emotions the night she published the coming out video, saying she had “no idea” what to expect. “That night of me uploading the video, I was the most anxious, the most nervous, the most stressed I have ever been in my life,” she said. “The feelings that went through my body, I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy.”

The YouTuber, who thanked her fans for their “acceptance, love and kindness,” admitted that it took her two days to go out in public after she uploaded her clip as she was “so scared about what the public would say.”

Although the Netherlands native was fearful to go outside, she was immediately met with support when she went out to walk her dog. “My neighbor and she told me how proud she was of me and how I’m such a strong individual and she had tears in her eyes,” Nikkie said. “Not in my craziest dreams did I think that would happen.”

As she continued to do her makeup, Nikkie recalled the overwhelmingly positive response she’s received from everyone from media outlets to Dutch lawmakers who had reached out to her. “Trust me when I say, if I could write a book from all the offers I got for a book deal, ‘Harry Potter’ would be nothing,” she quipped. “It has been so crazy and absolutely surreal seeing the world respond to me and welcomed me with open arms and showing me nothing but love and respect.”

Though Nikkie ultimately chose to appear on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” she expressed that “the number one outlet where I get to truly be myself and share my full story is here on my YouTube channel.” She added, “I want my words to come from a safe place and this right here [YouTube] is my safe place.”

The internet personality then took the time to address rumors about her blackmailer and urged her fans to stop searching for them.

“First of all, I think we need to stop the witch hunt that I’ve been seeing going around,” Nikkie said. “I don’t think that is your story to tell. If anyone is going to have the right to tell more about these blackmailers, it’s going to be me.”

“With the help of police, we have found out who exactly was blackmailing me,” she continued. “I have their names, their phone numbers, email addresses. I even know where they live and how they treated people around me to get more information on my true story.”

While Nikkie said she won’t reveal the blackmailers’ identity, she admitted she was “shocked” because it wasn’t someone she knew.

“I think in a way, they already got their punishment,” she said. “They now know that I know exactly who it is. And I think they’re gonna have a little bit of that fear, that one day maybe their name is gonna leak to the press, and they’re gonna feel exactly the same thing that I was feeling.”

“I think it is my right to determine if I want that name to come out or not,” she explained. “And right now, with 32 million views, I think he knows. And I think [those] are the most badass 32 million f–k you’s ever.”

Nikkie also had some words for those who thought her coming out as a transgender was a publicity stunt. “Sweety, have a seat,” she said, waving her makeup brush. “Have a seat and go sit there for awhile and rethink your actions and your words.”

Kelis says seeing photos of Rihanna after Chris Brown assault led her to leave ‘abusive’ partner

News & Info

Kelis has said she felt compelled to leave her allegedly abusive ex-husband after seeing the photographs of Rihanna following Chris Brown’s assault.

In 2018, the “Milkshake” singer accused her former partner, hip-hop artist Nas, of physical and mental abuse, nine years after she had left him while seven months pregnant with their child.

Nas has strongly denied any accusations of abuse.

Speaking about their marriage to The Guardian, Kelis explained that the photographs of Rihanna (Brown received five years probation and a community service order for the assault) led her to leave Nas.

“It just woke me up,” she said, adding that the pregnancy also encouraged her to leave. “I can endure a lot, but I’m not prepared to bring someone else into this. So I’m done.”

Kelis went on to say that “red flags” were there from the beginning of her relationship with Nas, which started when the singer was in her early 20s.

“I was really young and didn’t know that love isn’t enough,” she said.

“It was crazy from the start, but I think as girls we’re taught that that’s what love is, like you can’t breathe without them. What kind of s*** is that? I want to breathe!”

The singer went on to discuss the difficulties of co-parenting their 10-year-old son, Knight.

“Any rational person would look at this situation and say [to Nas]: ‘Well, if you want to see [your child], you have to actually show up!’,” she said.

“My kid is a really happy child, because I don’t tell him when [his father] says he’s going to come and doesn’t show up.”

Kelis first opened up about her relationship with Nas in the wake of the #MeToo movement.

In the video interview with Hollywood Unlocked, the singer described the relationship as “tumultuous and toxic”.

The Independent has contacted representatives for Nas for comment.
