Childish Gambino: Awaken My Love Album Review
I am definitely to the Childish Gambino train. After listening to his music the past few weeks, I’m mad at myself for not listening sooner. Thankfully the show Atlanta put me on to his music.
Childish Gambino has proven to one of the rare gems of hip hop. Especially in this era where mumble rap is mainstream and true hip hop almost seems like a dying breed.
But with his new album Awaken My Love, it’s not really hip hop he brings to this album but more of a funkadelic, soul type vibe.
I’m literally just finishing this album and and it is wonderous. What I’ve noticed from Childish Gambino is that he never sticks to one specific type of beat or music. He brings a variety in his albums and this one is no different. My favorites were Me And Your Momma, Redbone, Riot, Stand Tall and Riot.
If you’re not used to the style of music that he uses for this album I highly recommend you listen to it a few more times. It’s worth the listen and it will mos certainly grow on you. I appreciate Gambino for giving us a break from the 21 Savages and Lil Yachtys of music.
As for a score I give this album a 10 out of 10 and I will be blasting this CD in my car for a long time. If you haven’t listened to it yet, go check it out now!

Lil’ Wayne is not our socially conscious black voice for social justice
Lil’ Wayne “What is it? What, what do you mean?,” when he was asked for his thoughts on Black Lives Matter.
–
You know I don’t understand the fake social media “socially conscious ” outrage from SOME of you regarding Lil’ Wayne’s opinion and lack of knowledge of what Black Lives Matter is and the movement that follows our issues with institutionalized and systematic racism, police brutality. Lil’ Wayne has been out of touch with our reality since age 9 when he joined Cash Money Records in 1992 he or his family hasn’t wanted for nothing his pocket book is full of money he probably don’t even know how much is in his bank account. You say well he rapped about police brutality on his past albums lemme tell you something he wasn’t rappin’ police brutality cause he knew what he was talking about and he cared about his community he only did it cause it was hot at the time he mumble raps mostly about getting high and drunk off Lean, bitches, ho’s, cars, jewelry and the all mighty dollar.
Let me tell you something Lil’ Wayne DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT NOBODY BUT HIMSELF, HIS FAMILY AND HIS MONEY Stop depending on these mainstream WACK POP RAPPERS TO BE OUR VOICE FOR JUSICE AND EQUITY!!
Lil’ Wayne: “I am a young Black rich motherf*cka, if that don’t let you know that America understands Black motherf*ckas matter these days, I don’t know what it is,” said Wayne, who sounded very combative, and also managed to mentioned getting filmed by a white man and mattering to his “b*tches.”
The only thing that matters to Lil Wayne is his money, his cars and how much cough syrup and sprite he can buy. TRUST ME Lil Wayne not worried about you hypocrites boycotting his albums he knows you coonbreads and ya’ll who’s on that hypocrisy soapbox bullshit will go out; buy his albums, and tracks; go to his concerts.
Ya’ll screaming about what Lil Wayne not doing for you I tell you what you need to worry about this presidential election cause if Madam President Clinton or Donald gets into the oval office there’s still a lot of work to be done. If you are looking for hip hop artists who are TRULY socially conscious look for underground hip hop and Neo-Soul artists theses Kats truly do give back to their communities and are for social justice. Ya’ll do remember this is the same man was hospitalized with seizures after a sizzurp binge?
IF YOU TO WANNA SOUND AND RAP JUST LIKE LIL’ WAYNE GET YOUR MUMBLE STARTER KIT NOW!!!

Shawty Lo Dead In Car Accident
The hip hop community has taken a loss today as Shawty Lo the founder of the rap group D4L died in a car crash early this Wednesday morning.
Authorities recieved a call around 2:20 this morning alerting them of the accident. Shawty Lo, who’s real name is Carlos Walker was rejected from the seat of his 2016 Audi when he lost control of the vehicle which overturned, hit two trees then caught on fire. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene. The two passengers who were with him were taken to the hospital with with non life threatening injuries. He leaves behind 11 children.
This is unfortunate news to hear, and even more tragic that these 11 kids are now left without a father. I hope that the crash was caused because he was under the influence. Prayers go out to his family.
Mariah Carey’s sister arrested in Saugerties for prostitution
SAUGERTIES >> The sister of pop diva Mariah Carey was arrested on a prostitution charge here on Friday, and police are saying anyone who may have had a sexual encounter with the woman should see their doctor.
Alison A. Carey, 55, the older sister of the superstar singer, was arrested by Saugerties police following an undercover investigation into allegations that she was prostituting out of a town of Saugerties hotel. Police would not identify the hotel.
She was arrested after soliciting money in exchange for sexual favors from an undercover police officer posing as a client.
Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said when she was arrested Carey identified herself as the sister of the performer, who was once included on Forbes’ list of the 20 richest women in entertainment.
Sinagra said an internet search of the two women appeared to confirmed the claim.
Sinagra said Carey, whom police described as transient, was advertising her services on the Internet, and according to her posting, had been working out of the hotel for about a week.
One ad, posted at 6:18 p.m. on Friday, contains two photos of Carey and states: “Im a pretty lady looking for guys who are looking to have some fun and get into a world of pleasure that other woman just cant provide two you, woman with the ability to make the earth move for you and to get you to see stars, oh yea with me its,”ITS SUCH A SWEET,SWEET FANTASY BABY, WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES I COME AND TAKE YOU ON AND ON.” That phrasing mimics the lyrics from Mariah Carey’s 1995 hit “Fantasy.”
Two other ads, posted by the same user, were dated July 31 and Aug. 15.
Sinagra said police were tipped off about the ads, which had been placed on a website that includes an “adult” category.
Sinagra said that “based on other stories,” there could be cause for concern for people who had sexual encounters with Carey, particularly if it was unprotected, and urged those individuals to contact their doctors.
Carey was arraigned in Saugerties Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. She is due in Saugerties Town Court on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

N.W.A. Inducted Into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; ‘We Belong Here,’ Ice Cube Says
Five decades of pop music history — along with a bit of hip-hop controversy — passed through the stage of the Barclays Center on Friday night for the 31st annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
The night celebrated hard rockers (Deep Purple), horn rockers (Chicago), and rap (N.W.A). Cheap Trick represented the garage rock era while inductee Steve Miller’s passage through Chicago blues clubs and San Francisco psychedelia before he became a multiplatinum selling stadium filler in the mid-1970s makes him a one-man rock encyclopedia. Among the people Miller thanked was his godfather, guitar legend Les Paul. Miller said he was a 5-year-old when he learned his first chords from Paul.
Throughout the night, the inductees’ introductions recounted the hard work, persistence and durability of each act despite deaths, disputes and personnel changes. The groups all performed with a studio like slickness undoubtedly honed by years of constant touring that continues today. N.W.A — which broke up in 1991 — only reunited to accept its award.
But N.W.A co-founder Ice Cube delivered the most stirring statement of the night in response to the suggestion from rock traditionalists that the groundbreaking group from Compton was too far outside the genre to deserve its honor.

Watered Down Hip hop: The well oiled Assembly line Pt 1
One day I was sitting in a co works car she had her radio on blast to a local R&B hip hop station while sitting in her car listening to this so called music I really didn’t like what I heard but oddly but not oddly I found myself humming; bobbing my head to this monotonous popprap, popr&b as the next song started playing it sounded like the song before it, there was no originality nothing to make me wanna turn it up and ask who’s this I need to go to iTunes and download the whole album.
While bobbing my head I thought of how genuinely, greedy these three BIG music juggernauts groups are they knew exactly how to impose, manipulate, brainwash, whitewash; bamboozle their mass and diverse audience; crush other genres of music like Jazz, classical music Hard, soft Rock, Heavy Metal, country; R&B. Today you can turn your radio dial to any radio station and hear the same type of music there’s no variety no individuality, although I don’t care for all rock music it would be nice to hear some screaming; a howl of the lead band member. I love jazz, gospel, SOME rock, Neosoul Hip hop ol’ skool mainstream Hip hop from 1988-1998. Vince Staples a rapper from Long Beach has stated “The 90’s get a lot of credit but I don’t know why…” Yes Stapes can be an asshole and give his opinion but how are you gonna give your opinion but to not know shit about what he’s talking about is wack. Staples to me is nothing more than a RAPPER with no real lyrical talent It is my belief that mainstream radio and corporations like Universal, Warner; EMI music groups is the cause of the decline in music programs in our schools, technology; money is the culprit of why all the genres of music has declined.
Even MTV, VH1; BET are no longer music video driven tv networks. TRUE hip hop musicians like Jay Z; Kanye West were once socially conscious Hip hop artists but somehow got rapped up with the money, power; the mainstream fame.I think it’s sad really while watching tv a car commercial came on with this amazing song bumpin in the background I was like who is that?
My mama who is was born in a time when music and creativity was a blossom was like that’s ZZ Ward! Now you know if ya mama can tell you who the artist is; sing along it must be good!! The past few years I have wondered where; why all this rich socially conscious hip hop and that R&B that makes you want to turn up your radio and say HEEELLLL YEAH THAT’S MY JAM got lost buried underground .
Well of course I know the answer now so I’m going to teach you introduce you to a whole new way of looking at hip hop and the difference between poprap, popr&b; TRUE HIP HOP; R&B Good music has no color I truly hope with my written thoughts of this watered down hip hop and R&B we all can think of how to bring back the uniqueness; creativity of this genre; others that have been snuffed out by this watered down poprap;popr&b. I feel it is my; likeminded people responsibility to educate and expose our young ones to our music past and what REAL MUSIC sounds like. The next time you turn on your favorite popr&b; poprap radio station tell me if the artists (s) or band sounds different can you tell them apart? Is the hook; the chorus unique, is there any true meaning to what your listening to? From what I hear mainstream poprap today has no real listening value. Part 2 of my watered down hip hop series will explore these three music groups and why TRUE hip hop has gone underground.
Rihanna Blocks Fan who photoshopped an Image of Ri Ri as a white woman
Why would any white person in the right mind find it okay to Photoshop a BLACK celebrity making them white then post it to Twitter? I have come to the conclusion that (SOME) white folks REALLY do think LIGHT BRIGHT AND VERY WHITE IS RIGHT;the straighter our hair the better. Rihanna was very insulted by this white fans disrespect needless to say the fan was BLOCKED and she was left wondering what she had done to offend Rihanna.
If you ask me the white bitch doesn’t really care she just an social media attention whore I guess getting any type of attention good, bad and ugly gets you 15 secs of Internet fame. She really thinks she’s done nothing wrong can you blame her? This white woman ; others who look and think like her is just as whitewashed as the next Negro. For white (people of color) people to really except that people of color are in ALL shades of brown the mainstream media needs to start embracing DARK skin woman with are naturally kinky hair and styles that our unique to us in magazines, TV commercials, local News…. when white people see a DARK skin hand; feet models showing off the latest nail polish; showing a Diamond ring from Kay jeweler on the hand of a DARK skinned couple then things might be a little bit different.
