Eric Benét on Ignorant Rappers & White Supremacy: You’re Being Used to Destroy Us!
Eric Benét is so right. White folks are geniuses they knew what made us tick. White folks are geniuses they knew what made us tick. We’ve been studied for generations on how they can control us how they can get what they want We as black people unconsciously have been programmed to do their every bidding it must be nice to have generational wealth. And they knew that there’d be some Uncle Tom’s that would follow along with their devious plan.
R&B crooner Eric Benét is the latest celeb to call out the more ignorant of hip hop artists for promoting negativity within the Black community and inadvertently supporting White supremacy.
The soul singer took to Instagram to share a scathing critique of MCs who rap about certain subjects, including murder, drug abuse, degrading Black women and materialism. According to the meme, these aren’t artists, but “a Blackface for White Supremacy.”
It goes on, “You are being USED to help destroy your own people.”
Benet didn’t create the meme, but confirmed his agreement with the caption, “Inconvenient truth to some of the rich and famous.”

Although the meme didn’t call out all rappers, certain wordsmiths still took exception with its message. Young Money rapper Jae Millz responded with a jab at the “Spend My Life With You” singer’s past relationship with ex-wife, Halle Berry, according to Rolling Out.
“Eric Benét giving me rap advice is like me giving him advice on how he could’ve saved his marriage. And I’m not married. #payattentionitsfree.”
Wale argued that hip hop has always had a love for material objects, but that it doesn’t always equate to the artists themselves being problematic.
“Hip hop always had an affinity for material things. It’s apart of the very fabric (no pun) but does not define players IN said genre…but I’m 3xZ doe. He got a point but it’s not the only point (sic.)”
Do you agree with Benét?

Beyonce’s Three Kids Joined Her on the Set of Her ‘Vogue’ Shoot and Blue Ivy Took Control!
The magazine released behind-the-scene footage on Tuesday, August 14. In the clip, which is set to Curtis Mayfield’s “The Makings of You,” Beyonce is seen posing for photographer Tyler Mitchell, inspecting Polaroid photos and goofing around during outtakes. But it’s a cartwheeling Blue who steals the show. At the beginning of the video, the little girl takes control of the camera and announces, “I’m gonna zoom in for you guys, OK?” Later, Blue melts hearts when she kisses her baby brother.
The Destiny’s Child alum opened up about her hopes and dreams for her daughters Blue and Rumi. “It’s important to me that they see themselves too — in books, films and on the runways. It’s important to me that they can see themselves as CEOs, as bosses, and that they know they can write the script for their own lives — that they can speak their minds and have no ceiling,” the multi-Grammy winning artist told Vogue. “They don’t have to be a certain type or fit into a specific category. They don’t have to be politically correct as long as they’re authentic, respectful, compassionate, and empathetic.”
Beyoncé will support her daughters choices later in life without judgement: “They can explore any religion, fall in love with any race, and love who they want to love.”

Quavo beats Drake in a half-court shootout for $10K
It looks like Drake and the Migos have been spending some time on the basketball court while on tour together. Before kicking off their Aubrey and the Three Migos tour in Kansas City this weekend, Drake and Quavo went head to head in a $10,000 half-court shootout on an illustrious neon-lit basketball court.
Quavo emerged victorious over Drizzy and posted the highlight on Instagram; the clip sees the Migos member effortlessly drain a half-court jump shot before erupting in celebration, with Drake following up and just barely missing his mark.
The two camps will reportedly be spending a lot more time on the hardwood while away from the stage. While speaking to Billboard about the run of shows, Quavo shared that an OVO vs Migos basketball tournament is in the works and will be played during down time while on the tour.
“I’m looking forward to this basketball tournament we got going on this whole tour,” Quavo said. “It’s like a playoff game and a trophy made. It’s going to be really intense. Every day we’re going to work out and get to the athletics.”

Elon Musk Responds to Azealia Banks’ Claims of Ghosting, Tweeting, and LSD: I Don’t Know Her
Azealia Banks, the prodigious MC who remains a Twitter villain even after being banned from the service and an underground rapper even after being dropped from multiple record labels, let loose on Instagram after an allegedly disastrous weekend at Elon Musk’s home to see Grimes, Musk’s girlfriend and a fellow musician.
However, when reached via Twitter direct messages, Musk told Gizmodo that he “has never even met [Banks] or communicated with her in any way.” In other words, he doesn’t know her.
A Tesla spokesperson told our sister site, Jalopnik, that the claims were “complete nonsense,” but Banks is a veteran of long and nonsensical beefs. She’s feuded with everyone from Sarah Palin to Nick Cannon. And, like both Musk’s Space X endeavors, wants her future beefs to be interplanetary.
Like a dystopian epistolary novel about two feuding houses, Banks told her side of the story via a breathtaking and scattered stream of Instastories. There’s a damsel in distress (Banks, left alone in the mansion), enigmatic villains (Grimes and Musk), and heady oppression metaphors (Banks compares the entire ordeal of having her time wasted to white colonization of Africa.)
According to Banks, she spent the past few days at the Musk estate in LA, hoping to finish a song with Grimes for her upcoming sophomore album. The collaboration never came to fruition. Banks alleges Grimes ignored her for days, the first point in a deeply absurd comedy of errors that Banks describes as “a real [life] episode of ‘Get Out.’”
“I waited all weekend while grimes coddled her boyfriend for being too stupid to know not to go on twitter while on acid,” Banks posted. “It was probably some weird threesome sex shit to being with.”
Banks and Grimes, however, have been teasing a collaboration on Twitter for months in advance of Bank’s new album. But rather than cut her losses and simply fly back to New York in silence, Banks went on a separate Insta-rant that began as a delirious critique of colonial wealth and racial privilege, became a vaguely eugenicist denigration of Musk as a caveman, and ended, ultimately, on a few lines that will probably appear on her album in lieu of Grimes. (Gizmodo, it should be noted, could not verify all of these messages were sent by Banks, which were captured by other reporters but have apparently been deleted since.)
“Elon Musk is really part of the problem…when you talk about white male privilege and colonialism,” it begins. “The last time I try working with a white bitch,” it ends.

Sam Smith Said He Doesn’t Like Michael Jackson’s Music
Recently, the singer was enjoying some downtime with friends out on a boat. Among the crew was fellow singer Adam Lambert who was recording some of the day’s festivities and posting them to his Instagram account. While one of the clips shows Smith jamming out to some Beyoncé, another one reveals him showing his lack of support for another musical legend—the musical legend Michael Jackson.
In the video, Lambert pans over to Smith who says, “I don’t like Michael Jackson, but this is a good song.” In fairness, he does give MJ props, but it isn’t every day that you hear someone, especially an accomplished musician, say that they don’t like the King of Pop. As you would imagine, people gave Smith hell for his comment.
There is certainly no denying the impact and importance of Jackson’s legacy on music, but Smith likely isn’t the only person in the industry who isn’t too fond of his music either. Surprising take? Yes. But this certainly isn’t the first time a successful artist has expressed their dislike for an all-time great. In fact, it seems to happen in the hip-hop community weekly.
