Ja Rule Refuses to Feel Shame Over Fyre Festival Failure, Says It Was ‘Beyond Brilliant’
Following Ja Rule’s infamous Fyre Festival apology of “this is NOT MY FAULT… but I’m taking responsibility” via Notes app screenshot last spring, he spoke about the disastrous luxury music fest once more on Revolt TV’s Drink Champs. Little has changed: he still doesn’t feel any shame about it because “the idea” (which he maintains was his own) was “brilliant.”
In a video interview published on Friday, Ja admitted:
“I’m not ashamed. I’m not ashamed of Fyre at all. Because man, the idea, it was brilliant. It was fuckin’ beyond brilliant…It was amazing. It wasn’t what I dreamed it of being and what I envisioned of it being and what I wanted it to be. It wasn’t done properly…People didn’t really know I had anything to do with the festival until it went wrong. And then it was like, ‘Ja Rule’s festival!’ It was my idea, my vision to do this. And I’m no way, shape or form ashamed of my vision of what it was to do this. I wanted to create something amazing.”
Ja does offer something of a proper apology, if you need it. The aftermath of the festival was a mess and several the attendees filed lawsuits):
“I should’ve been more on top of things. I should’ve not trusted people with certain things. And maybe, I’m positive things wouldn’t have been like that. That part of it, I take all responsibility.”
He concludes with, “Never give nobody the keys to your motherfucking car.” I’d give it the addendum of “…especially if you’re putting large adult son Billy McFarland in the driver’s seat, a boy of little experience and even littler problem-solving ability.”

Rihanna appointed as ambassador by Barbados
Singer Rihanna has said she “couldn’t be more proud” after being given a new ambassadorial role by the government of Barbados.
The artist, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, was named “Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary” for her home country on Thursday.
The role involves promoting education, tourism and investment.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said she was honoured to confer the title.
“Rihanna has a deep love for this country and this is reflected in her philanthropy, especially in the areas of health and education. She also shows her patriotism in the way she gives back to this country and continues to treasure the island as her home,” the prime minister said in a statement.
“She has also demonstrated, beyond her success as a pop icon, significant creative acumen and shrewdness in business. It is therefore fitting that we engage and empower her to play a more definitive role as we work to transform Barbados.”
Rihanna is one of the best-selling singers of all time, with 250 million record sales globally. She has also enjoyed success as an actress and fashion designer, and launched a widely-praised makeup collection last year.
The singer was born in Saint Michael in Barbados, and grew up in the capital, Bridgetown.
She lived there until her teen years when she was discovered by an American record producer, who helped her break into the US charts.
Last year a street she used to live on was renamed Rihanna Drive in her honour.
In a statement accepting her new role, the singer (who is now described as Ambassador Fenty by the Barbados government) said she “couldn’t be more proud to take on such a prestigious title” in her home country.
“Every Barbadian is going to have to play their role in this current effort, and I’m ready and excited to take on the responsibility. I look forward to working with Prime Minister Mottley and her team to re-imagine Barbados.”

Tiny ‘Humiliated’ To Learn T.I.’s Still Following Bernice Burgos On Instagram: How She’s Retaliating
Article via: Tiny ‘Humiliated’ To Learn T.I.’s Still Following Bernice Burgos On Instagram, How She’s Retaliating
Here we go, again. Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, 43, and husband T.I., 37, are once again on the rocks, after the rapper flat out refused to unfollow Bernice Burgos, 38, on Instagram.“Tiny is not happy that T.I. refuses to unfollow model Bernice Burgos, it’s a real sore spot for her. Tiny no longer follows TIP on Instagram, and the fact that he won’t unfollow Bernice is a big part of why she won’t follow him. It’s her way of retaliating,” a friend of Tiny’s told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY. “That’s about the only real stand she could take because T.I. does not react well when she gives him ultimatums,” the friend added.
One can hardly blame Tiny for being so angry – Bernice is the same woman that T.I. was previously accused of cheating with! “She’s been trying her best not to let something as petty as social media break-up her marriage, but hearing about T.I.’s drama with Meek Mill over Bernice, it has brought all her anger and frustration to the surface,” the friend continued. “It’s extra humiliating because all her friends are questioning why her husband is still following this side-chick, and Tiny has no good answer. It really hurts that T.I. won’t show her the simple respect of totally cutting Bernice out and it makes her question if there could still be something going on.” HollywoodLife reached out to reps of both Tiny and T.I. for comment.
The source also revealed why it’s so hard to get TIP to just hit that unfollow button. “T.I. refuses to be told what he can and can not do. He tells Tiny he’s a man, and he can follow anyone he wants on Instagram. There’s no doubt he loves Tiny with all his heart, but when she tries to tell him what to do, it really pushes his buttons. T.I. swears Bernice means nothing, but so far no matter what Tiny says he refuses to stop following her, no way. The way he sees it, he can look, as long as he does not touch.” Clearly, Tiny does not agree with that sentiment!
The bad blood between Tiny and her man comes just days after, Meek Mill, 31, posted a selfie to his Instagram with the caption, “don’t come to me about no ho!” Once fans figured out that Meek was talking about Bernice, all bets were off. Quick-witted fans of both artist came to the conclusion that Meek was beefing with T.I. over the model, proving that TIP still has feelings for his old flame. This is one love triangle that isn’t going to last though, if Tiny has her way.

Azealia Banks has asked men to send pictures ‘of their buttholes’ to her Instagram account as she launches a new line of soap for male and female genitalia.
The 27-year-old rapper shocked her followers last week when she candidly asked for men to take pictures of their ‘buttholes’ while using her soap, entitled ‘Bussy Pop’ for males and ‘Pussy Pop’ for females, to show how it works.
‘I need some boys who are willing to show their buttholes to get a three-month supply of bussyboy,’ she wrote in the Instagram post. ‘I would like to document five boys’ buttholes in photos with flash to show how well bussyboy works!’

Beyoncé’s Former Drummer Claims Singer Molested Her with ‘Dark Magic,’ ‘Extreme Witchcraft’
A woman who once worked as a drummer for Beyoncé claims the singer is wrapped up in the practices of “extreme witchcraft” and has been using her spells to run surveillance and control her finances, and now she wants a restraining order against Bey.
According to very bizarre court documents obtained by The Blast, Kimberly Thompson says she used to work for Beyoncé: “I worked for her as her drummer for her band for 7 years.”
She claims that for some reason, Bey has started a campaign of harassment against her, that includes “Extreme witchcraft, Dark magic” and “Magic spells of sexual molestation.” She also claims the “Lemonade” star murdered her kitten.
Thompson believes Beyoncé has been taping her phones and controlling her finances. It’s unclear why Thompson believes the singer is allegedly doing all this to her, but she is adamant it all stems from Bey.
We did some research on Thompson, and according to interviews and reports it appears she is a drummer that performed with Beyoncé as part of an all-female band. She has also released several albums on her own record label and has played with The 8G Band on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
She also posted a YouTube video recently talking about “mean” people, and appears disheveled and erratic.
Thompson’s request for a temporary restraining order was denied by a judge, most likely because of the non-sensical rantings about witchcraft.
We reached out to Thompson and Beyoncé for comment and will update accordingly.

Rashida Jones Honors Her Father With Netflix Documentary ‘Quincy’
Jones co-directed and co-wrote the Netflix doc about her father Quincy Jones’ prolific career in music.
Quincy Jones has had one of the most legendary careers in the entertainment industry and on Friday night, his accomplishments were honored with the premiere of the documentary Quincy at the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study, with Rashida Jones, Diane Warren and Ted Sarandos in attendance.
Jones rose from the slums of the South Side of Chicago to become one of the most successful and prolific composers and music producers of all time, working with such legendary talents as Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson, for whom he produced Thriller, the best selling album in the history of music.
Rashida spoke to THR about why this was the right time to make a film about her father.
“My dad’s story is also the story of black America. He was born in the 30s. He’s seen every decade since. He’s been relevant in every decade since so we’re dealing with a lot of race stuff in this country and it’s important to tell the stories of the past,” Rashida said. “It’s the only way we can learn. It’s the only way we can change and evolve and this is the great way to do it.”
The film brought out Quincy’s friends, family and several important people from his past, including the original band from the Thriller album. Warren and Sarandos were seen chatting excitedly with each other about the film in the lobby of the theater before the premiere.
Rashida co-directed the film with Alan Hicks, who told THR the most exciting things he learned about her father while doing research on him.
“I would learn something every day because Rashida and I would work in the archives and just pour over all the material and you’d find out a new thing every day. For example, I found out that he was in the room with Miles Davis when he recorded Kind Of Blue. And then you found out that he had the first music that was ever played on the moon and that he made all of these discoveries like Will Smith and Oprah Winfrey.”
The film covers every decade in Quincy’s life, documenting both his professional successes and his personal struggles and culminates in his production of a television special to celebrate the opening of the National Museum of African American and Culture in Washington D.C., which featured appearances by Barack and Michelle Obama, Winfrey and John Legend.
The conclusion of the film was greeted with a long and sustained standing ovation for both the film and for Jones who was in attendance.
After the movie, guests headed over to the ballroom at the Neuehouse in Hollywood, where they enjoyed beef sliders, mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto and chicken meatballs and were entertained with a musical performance by R&B singer Lalah Hathaway, who at one point was accompanied by Michael Jackson’s musical director Greg Phillanganes while she sang Jackson’s hit “Human Nature.”
“I am constantly in awe of how much he’s managed to cram into a lifetime,” Rashida noted. “He’s not done. He’s 85 and he’s not done.”
