Kylie Jenner Shares Video of Stormi in a Walker — a Device Pediatricians Want Banned
Kylie Jenner’s 8-month-old daughter Stormi is on a roll. The makeup mogul shared an Instagram Story video on Tuesday, October 2, in which the infant is seen cruising around in a pink walker. While the plastic device on wheels seems harmless, the American Academy of Pediatrics states that they can cause severe injuries and may even harm development. Just last month, the AAP announced they are pushing for a ban on baby walkers.
More than 230,000 children younger than 15 months were treated for injuries that occurred while using walkers between 1990 and 2014. The study found that 6,539 of them had skull fractures, and 91 percent were to the head and neck.
“Baby walkers give quick mobility — up to 4 feet per second — to young children before they are developmentally ready. Children at this age are curious, but do not recognize danger,” senior study author Dr. Gary Smith told CBS News Opens a New Window. in September. “It only takes a young sibling to leave the door to the basement stairs open briefly for an injury to occur.”

FDA Barges In on Vape Maker Juul, Seizes ‘Thousands’ of Documents
In its ongoing crusade against rad teens, the Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday that it made a surprise inspection of the headquarters of Juul Labs, which is under investigation for potentially marketing e-cigarettes to children. The “unannounced on-site inspection,” executed on Friday, resulted in the seizure of “thousands of pages of documents,” according to the FDA.
The surprise inspection of Juul continues an aggressive new chapter in the FDA’s war on the “epidemic” of underage vaping, as FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb recently put it. The agency has cracked down on e-cigarette businesses in general and Juul in particular.
“The JUUL inspection, which we completed on Friday, sought further documentation related to JUUL’s sales and marketing practices, among other things, and resulted in the collection of over a thousand pages of documents,” the FDA said in a statement emailed to Gizmodo. “The inspection followed the Agency’s request for information that we issued to JUUL Labs in April for documents that would help us to better understand the reportedly high rates of youth use and the youth appeal of JUUL products, including documents related to marketing and product design.”
In a statement emailed to Gizmodo, Juul CEO Kevin Burns said his company plans to work with the FDA and other parties to prevent underage vaping and characterized the FDA’s surprise inspection on its headquarters as a “meeting.”
“We are committed to preventing underage use, and we want to engage with FDA, lawmakers, public health advocates and others to keep JUUL out of the hands of young people. The meetings last week with FDA gave us the opportunity to provide information about our business from our marketing practices to our industry-leading online age-verification protocols to our youth prevention efforts. It was a constructive and transparent dialogue,” Burns said. “We’ve now released over 50,000 pages of documents to the FDA since April that support our public statements. We look forward to presenting our plan to address youth access in the 60-day time frame as outlined by FDA. We want to be part of the solution in preventing underage use, and we believe it will take industry and regulators working together to restrict youth access.”
While there are hundreds of e-cigarettes on the market, Juul remains the most popular, especially among teenagers, according to Nielsen, which found that Juul represented nearly 55 percent of the e-cigarette retail market as of March.
In late August, the New York Times reported that management within PAX Labs, which created Juul before it spun off into its own company, knew the company’s e-cigarettes were widely popular with teenagers and still failed to tweak its marketing strategy, according to a former senior manager at PAX. Last month, the FDA announced that it had issued 1,300 “warning letters” and fines to brick-and-mortar e-cigarette retailers that the agency said it had busted selling Juul vapes to minors during an “undercover blitz” carried out this summer.
Although e-cigarettes are believed to be somewhat safer than tobacco cigarettes, and users can vape without nicotine, evidence shows they are still not safe, particularly for teens’ still-developing brains.

McDonald’s under investigation after police officer given drink with peroxide-based cleaner
Police have launched an investigation into a McDonald’s restaurant in Iola, Kansas after an Allen County Sheriff’s Office deputy was given a drink containing a peroxide-based cleaner.
Trevor J Hockaday, a 22-year-old McDonald’s employee, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery against a police officer after his coworkers told investigators he added “four little squirts” of a peroxide-based cleaner to the deputy’s drink order last month. Mr Hockaday, who may face felony charges, has reportedly been suspended as McDonald’s conducts its own investigation into the matter, according to a spokesperson.
Allen County Sheriff Bryan Murphy said the incident has shaken officers throughout the small Kansas city, who now have “concern” over whether their food is safe.
“In today’s day and age, not only us in law enforcement but citizens as a whole, there’s enough going on out there that we have to worry about,” the sheriff told the Wichita Eagle. “Now my guys are cautious about going through that drive through”.
“We all chose this line of work to protect and serve,” Mr Murphy continued. “Now my guys have that concern of – is my food safe?”
In a statement, the owner of the Iola McDonald’s Glen Nichols expressed regret over the allegations against Mr Hockaday, who he described as a “former crew member,” and said food safety was a top priority for the local eatery.
“In our restaurants, nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our customers,” he said. “We are very disappointed by the allegations made regarding the behaviour of one of our former crew members. This kind of behaviour goes against our food safety standards and is not tolerated. Our organisation will take all appropriate measures to gather facts and will work closely with authorities in their investigation.”
At first, the deputy was not immediately aware he had allegedly been provided a contaminated drink, which police said was either a cola or an iced tea. The deputy reportedly experienced “flu-like symptoms” but was not forced to take any time off work.
“He thought he caught the bug,” Mr Murphy said, “but we found out two weeks later when an employee came forward and told the police department.”

Chrissy Teigen Has No Shame About Sleeping With John Legend The Night They Met
All of Chrissy Teigen loved all of John Legend the night they met.
Before the cookbook author reigned as Twitter supreme and the singer had a trophy case rivaling a top-tier professional sports team, Teigen starred as Legend’s love interest in the 2007 music video for his song “Stereo.”
The connection on set was so strong that their relationship kicked off right then and there.
“I closed the deal the first night,” Teigen said Monday on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” “It’s fine!”
She added: “We were on a music video set all day together and then I went to one of his shows and then … yeah …”
Teigen has since appeared in a handful of Legend’s music videos, including “All Of Me” and “Love Me Now,” which also features a cameo from the couple’s daughter, Luna Simone. In May, they welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Miles Theodore.
But their road to coupledom wasn’t exactly a straight shot after their music-video romance. The “Lip Sync Battle” host revealed she gave Legend some space after their first hookup.
“The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on, then have them think, ‘There’s so much more out there,’” she told Cosmopolitan back in 2014. “I played it cool for a long time. Never once did I ask, ‘What are we?’ Marriage was never my goal, because I’ve never been very traditional. I was just happy to be with him.”

Watch: Amara La Negra Shares Her Natural Hair Journey Here
Amara La Negra is a proud Afro-Latina who “embraces her truth.” For La Negra this means that rocking her hair in its natural form—an afro. But the pop star’s striking hairstyle hasn’t always been so well received.
“I’ve had so many stones, and so many rocks thrown at me that eventually it just stopped hurting,” said La Negra. Though she made the decision to give up her relaxer as a teenager, even in adulthood, the Miami native has had to face issues of colorism and prejudice. Notably, on Love & Hip-Hop Miami, where La Negra has risen to fame, producer Young Hollywood said he wanted her to look “A little bit more Beyoncé and a little less Macy Gray.” Goodbye, Sir.
“No matter what you do, people will always have something to say. Whether your hair is too straight, whether your hair is too kinky, whether your hair is too curly—do whatever makes you happy,” La Negra told The Root.
Beyoncé’s Former Drummer Claims Singer Molested Her with ‘Dark Magic,’ ‘Extreme Witchcraft’
A woman who once worked as a drummer for Beyoncé claims the singer is wrapped up in the practices of “extreme witchcraft” and has been using her spells to run surveillance and control her finances, and now she wants a restraining order against Bey.
According to very bizarre court documents obtained by The Blast, Kimberly Thompson says she used to work for Beyoncé: “I worked for her as her drummer for her band for 7 years.”
She claims that for some reason, Bey has started a campaign of harassment against her, that includes “Extreme witchcraft, Dark magic” and “Magic spells of sexual molestation.” She also claims the “Lemonade” star murdered her kitten.
Thompson believes Beyoncé has been taping her phones and controlling her finances. It’s unclear why Thompson believes the singer is allegedly doing all this to her, but she is adamant it all stems from Bey.
We did some research on Thompson, and according to interviews and reports it appears she is a drummer that performed with Beyoncé as part of an all-female band. She has also released several albums on her own record label and has played with The 8G Band on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
She also posted a YouTube video recently talking about “mean” people, and appears disheveled and erratic.
Thompson’s request for a temporary restraining order was denied by a judge, most likely because of the non-sensical rantings about witchcraft.
We reached out to Thompson and Beyoncé for comment and will update accordingly.

Virginia Man Accused Of Rubbing Produce On Buttocks And Putting It Back On Shelves
Get this dude a REAL woman!
It really puts the “gross” in grocery.
A Virginia man is facing charges after he allegedly grabbed produce at a Manassas store, pulled down his pants and rubbed the food items on his bare buttocks.
The suspect then allegedly put the tainted produce back on the shelves, according to The Associated Press.
Michael Dwayne Johnson, 27, was arrested Saturday afternoon at the Giant Food Store after an employee called 911 about destruction of property.
The employee told officers Johnson was allegedly seen “picking up produce, pulling down his pants, rubbing the produce on his buttocks, and replacing the produce back on the shelf,” according to a police report obtained by The Smoking Gun.
Johnson was arrested inside the supermarket and charged with two misdemeanors: indecent exposure and destruction of property.
According to the police report, store employees had to destroy several pallets of produce presumedly tainted by Johnson’s bare heinie.
Authorities say they haven’t determined a possible motive.
Although a police spokesperson told NBC Washington she did not know what type of produce Johnson allegedly defiled, a police report mentioned it was fruit.
