SheaMoistureMen
SheaMoisture must have seen how the #BeardLivesMatter Facebook group took off, and they did not miss a beat trying to collect more coins!
We remember how SheaMoisture got everyone riled up, not too long ago, when they “missed the mark” with the ‘Hair-Hate-Gate’ commercial.
Now SheaMoisture is after the fellas, and their pockets. Although I will say that they were smart enough to include um… ALL kinds of beards earlier on, to avoid the dragging that Black Twitter loves to carry out should SheaMoisture later decide to market to ALL kinds of beards later on.
But I do wonder, if this was targeted exclusively to Black men, and about five years later SheaMoisture started advertising to other men, if SheaMoisture would receive as much backlash as they did when they did the same with Black women. Share your thoughts below

BLACKHAIR MAGAZINE and the tail of the white model
“
We often ask PR companies/salons to submit images for the magazine, specifically stating that models must be Black or mixed race. We can only take their word for it,” the editor of Blackhair magazine said.
Why is it that we as Black and white people always have to question ones ethnicity? I must admit I have and do at times question folks on their ethnicity but it’s not to judge them it is because I am so interested in different ethnicities and backgrounds of people. This weekend Blackhair magazine was criticized for putting a white young model in a kinky haired wig passing her off as a light skinned black woman. Okay PR made a mistake the model Emily Bador wrote an apology on her IG explaining that she noticed that they used an old headshot of her when she was 15 she also explained why people would take offense to this. Now from what I understand Emily Bador noticed her own picture of herself and contacted the PR magazine told them of their “error.” Then went on her IG apologize saying she is white and some of you still question her ethnicity? So with that comes social media debate of what is she?To me she looks like an ambiguous very light skinned black woman but she has told us that she is white and folks still want to tell her who she is. White people want to say she’s white or insist that she’s of European decent but isn’t white people of European decent?Black folks want to say she’s mixed or bi racial one parent is black they other is white. Others say she’s passing as white but she really a light skinned black.
“If I had known it was going to be published, I would never have condoned it. … I was never asked by the photographer/hair salon/anyone if this image could be used for the cover of Blackhair,” she said.
Black folks need to stop just stop if says she’s white then she’s white. How hard is that for you to except? The hypocrisy of it all if Emily Bador said she was a light skinned black woman you’d say she was white. As for you white people SOME of you just get under my dark skin dictating what we people of color are and who we are not. YES WE black folks do it for very different reasons. If you ask me we black people ask what are you? so we can identify with the parson so we can feel safe.
There was a time in the entertainment industry if you was of mixed race you wouldn’t be able to work so the bi racial person who was born with black daddy or mother would pass as white just to survive. This is the same for other perfusions these bi racial people just wanted to fit in some forgot their blackness all together just to belong.
We as a society are so obsessed with color until we don’t see color as problem within our world.
Christina Milian Defends Her Daughter’s ‘Grown’ Afro-Twist Hairstyle
The only reason Christina Milan did her babies hair like this was for shits n giggles this baby has to be wearing a wig! Naw I’M PLAYIN’ LOOOL But for real why would she want to put so much weight on her babies head the weight could cause headaches in fact when I first say this picture I thought it was photoshopped. This baby looks like a living Doll! Her baby is so cute. Try something simple; cute that this little girl can handle.
Well you know what Black Twitter did! LOL here’s Milian’s excuse:
“For those of you more concerned with Violet’s hair (understandably cause you just don’t know) her hair isn’t in the twists, it’s another method used where they are tied into her corn rows. The hair isn’t heavy,”
Asian E-Commerce Sites Are Ripping Off Popular Black Jewelry Designer Rachel Stewart
It seems no one is original anymore people wanna make other people’s gifts their OWN hustle. Folks don’t want to learn the craft of artistry that they see I’m talking about music we hear, that jewelry we admire, a drawing we see in a magazine,on a Facebook page, online, TV; movies I can go on. As I’ve learned in the past few weeks from an article I read; talking with two of my friends (who I know in real life) their gift was used as a hustle.
For those of us ladies and men who love wearing jewelry while carrying our (Man Bag lol ) handbag; accessories often admire; dream of making custom-made jewelry accessory, handbags; build a clothing line but they don’t wanna do the work they just want that quick hustle, my home girl whom I know (in real life) who custom makes all her jewelry she spends hours, days and sometimes she falls asleep while creating her DOPE ass work she’s told me most of creations comes from her dreams. (As most creative people’s creations do) While listening to her speak you could hear her enthusiasm her love of what she’s doing she enjoys making her creations She says folks try to just get a hustle and copy her work instead of learning the craft of jewelry making. Other so called jewelry designers ( jewelry hustler designers) have approached her at other venues inspecting her work and asking a lot of questions TRYING to figure out her greatness while wanting to collaborate and even saying her prices are to high while telling her what THEY would do to make more money by selling her jewelry cheaper well my girl ain’t no fool she says no thank you ma’am I don’t want your business.
It’s a shame because our OWN Black folk (WHITE FOLK DO IT TOO) are TRYIN’ to con and out do our own they don’t want to put in the work cause THEY LAZY and wanna make a quick buck. They want to make the same product with low-end materials so they can sell it at a cheaper price. This is happening overseas as well.
In order to have high Quality jewelry my friend finds real stones and other things that make it special and unique She has to find another avenue to to expand her business without being ripped off. Sadly her experience mirrors that of Rachel Stewart a custom jewelry designer.
As we know earlier this year Pharell Williams and Robin Thicke were sued for copyright infringement from the Marvin Gaye family and the Gaye family won it makes me wonder is Pharell Williams even original at all, has he been stealing other people’s music guitar riffs etc; has he been taking credit for work he did not produce or write since he came out in 1992?
Another friend I know (in real life) is a very talented musician, pianist; song writer he’s played me a sample of his gift and his style is very unique. One evening I asked him have you ever written a song and send it out to a producer and he said “Well you probably won’t believe me because nobody else does but yes I have” He explained that he ( when he was 14 years old) sent off a song he composed to a well known record company at the time (that is no longer in existence) and a few months later he heard his song on the radio his song was being performed by a very famous and well-known artist. My mouth fell to the floor I asked him “Do you have a copy of your sheet music?” He said nope you know I almost cried for him. He was telling me he tried to get his mama to help him get his money for his song but I guess she didn’t see the urgency in his please for help.
TRUE artists DON’T get the props anymore if you looked at the Grammy’s this spring Beck won for best album of the year simply because of the heard work we put into making his masterpiece he composed his OWN music played REAL instruments I know he probably spent hours and days working on his album to get it just right. He deserved that Grammy but do you think his colleagues would be happy for him? NOPE! Because these sukkahs want to hustle someone else’s gift and call it their OWN Beck is a TRUE ARTIST!
Remember if you have a gift or you want to develop a gift cherish it take your time with your gift which I know you will because you have a passion for your gift. DO YOUR HOMEWORK study know who you are doing business with.learn your rights within your choosen industry Lastly, for you consumers out there I’d spend much money for what true artists give you TRUST ME YOU’LL GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH! My Girl Friend said it best “Your Gift Is NOT a hustle”! If you’d like to buy some DOPE custom made. jewelry click the link below Rachel Stewart and my Girl Cj would love for you to rock their gift of humble style!
