Nelly Arrested On Rape Accusation, Attorney Denies ‘Fabricated Allegation’
Nelly was arrested on Saturday after a woman accused the rapper of raping her in his tour bus in a town near Seattle.
Nelly’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum, firmly denied the “completely fabricated allegation” on Saturday morning.
“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation,” Rosenblum said in a statement to Variety. “Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”
According to the Auburn Police Department, officers arrested the Grammy winner, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., on Saturday at 3:48 a.m. in his tour bus. He was taken into custody and booked less than an hour later.
Nelly had performed at the White River Amphitheater in King County just hours before the incident, which is still being investigated by Auburn Police. The rapper is on tour with Florida Georgia Line and was scheduled to perform on Saturday night in Ridgefield, Wash.
The musician is best known for his hits “Hot in Herre,” ”My Place,” and “Over and Over.”
‘Suge’ Knight Says Dr. Dre Paid $20,000 to Have Him Killed in 2015
Former rap impresario Marion “Suge” Knight claims Dr. Dre, his onetime business partner, paid $20,000 to have him killed in 2015, recently filed court documents show.
In a signed declaration, Knight said a hit man’s presence at a Compton burger stand that Jan. 29 — the day Knight is accused of intentionally ramming his red truck into two men, killing one of them — backs up his claims that he acted in self-defense. An attorney representing Dr. Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, has called the allegations “absurd” and “defamatory.”
Knight, who appeared in court Friday wearing orange jail scrubs and a chain around his waist, is accused of killing Terry Carter, 55, outside Tam’s Burgers at Central and East Rosecrans avenues following an argument on the set of the movie “Straight Outta Compton.” Footage from a security camera at the burger joint shows Knight — who has pleaded not guilty — barreling his Ford F-150 Raptor pickup into Carter and Cle “Bone” Sloan, who survived. Knight, who fled the scene but later turned himself in, also is accused in separate cases of robbery and threatening “Straight Outta Compton” director F. Gary Gray.
In Knight’s declaration, which was attached to a document made public this week, the defendant said that during a jailhouse visit in 2016, a private investigator who no longer is working on his case showed him a check for $20,000. It was dated Nov. 16, 2014, and was from Young’s personal account, Knight wrote.
Elfen’s Neo-Soul Hip hop weekend track Wu-Tang Clan drops ‘Pharma Bro’ dis track
I like it
The hits just keep on coming for Martin Shkreli.
Wu-Tang Clan dropped a new track Friday dissing the convicted felon — who famously shelled out $2 million for the only copy of an album by the hip-hop group then rubbed it in fans’ faces.
“Hater / Wouldn’t last a day in my shoes / You know very well / Bet he swell / You can tell he jeal’ / My price hikin’ like the pills Martin Shkreli sell,” the group raps on “Lesson Learn’d,” referencing the self-proclaimed “Pharma Bro” raising the price of a life-saving drug by 5,000 percent.
Shkreli has been in a battle with the Staten Island group ever since he bought its never-before-heard album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” in 2015.
Member Ghostface Killah called the Ponzi schemer a “fake-a– super-villain” and Shkreli responded by calling him “an old man who has lost his relevance.”
Most recently, several Clan members claimed “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” isn’t even an official Wu-Tang release.
Shkreli — who is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of securities fraud – auctioned the album for more than $1 million on eBay earlier this month.
But he won’t be able to hear his name on a real Wu-Tang song — the disgraced Rx-ecutive was thrown in jail a few weeks later when he put a bounty out on a strand of Hillary Clinton’s hair and was declared a “danger to society.”
