Black History Month Day 2: William Wells Brown
In our second day of Black History Month, is like to introduce, William Wells Brown, said to be the first African American novelist of many different literatures.
Born to a white father and enslaved mother, Brown picked up many trades of growing up in slavery before escaping in 1834. He settled in Ohio where he had given himself the surname Wells Brown out of respect of the Quaker family that took him in.
He later married and moved to New York where he gave lectures about his time in slavery for the Anti-Slavery Society and was a speaker for women’s rights as well.
In 1845 he wrote his first book Narrative of William W. Brown, a Fugitive Slave, Written by Himself. The success of this novel eventually led to him traveling to Europe between 1849 and 1854. During that time he delivered over a thousand speeches. After his travels he then wrote Three Years In Europe, and Clotel which are recognized as the first novels being written by an African American as well as his play The Escape was the first play written by an African American.
Years later after his success he would settle in Boston until his death in 1884.

Orlando Brown Arrested For Battery
Looks like Orlando Brown is coming out from the shadows, and not in a good way.
Brown was arrested Thursday on an old warrant, after a heated argument led police to his apartment. Brown was handcuffed in Barstow, California and is on $25,000 bond. He is charged with battery of a spouse, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
Looks like things are going from bad to worse for Orlando Brown. If he somehow manages to avoid time hopefully he gets his life and act together soon.
Teen Stabbed At New York School
It looks like the year is starting off badly for some, name a high school student at a Westchester County High School.
Police were called shortly before 9:00 Thursday after students reported hearing slashing sounds. They found a 16 year old boy with puncture wounds in his torso. He was was soon taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. The suspect was seen leaving the campus and no arrests have been made.
A little more than a week ago, on January 10th another student named Valaree Schwab, 16, was killed. Schwab was stabbed with a steak knife amid a wild lunch-hour fight at a local Dunkin Donuts, local police said. Z’inah Brown, 16, is charged with murder.
It’s sad this these actions are taking place so early in the new year. Hopefully the find the person who did it.
Black Panther Excitement
With Black Panther about 3-4 months away from being released into theaters, a lot of us have very high expectations for this movie.
For me, I have nothing but high expectations for this movie. Judging from how the trailer looks i expect nothing but the best from Black Panther. One of the things that I look forward to is the technological advances of Wakanda. As we all know, if Wakanda was a real country we would all pack up and move there if we could. It is going to be very interesting to see how much vibranium has advanced the country.
The second thing I want to see are the different Black Panther suits that T’Challa has and what they can do. It has been shown That T’Challa owns more than one suit. One specifically looks like it absorbs kinetic energy then releases it. I’d love to se if the costume from Civil War has the same effect as well.
As with every super hero movie there will always be a villain, and in Black Panther’s case there’s three. I’m anxious to see what The Claw, M’Baku and Erik Killmonger bring to the table. More specifically Killmonger and his Jaguar suit. It will be great to see these rivalries on the big screen in February next year and I can’t wait for its Sequels.
How much hype do you have for Black Panther?
The New Mutants Trailer Review
The X-Men Film Franchise is delving into the horror genre in this new installment entitled The New Mutants.
From what I can tell the movie will have our 5 main characters, Cannonball, Sunspot, Magik, Mirage, abd Wolfsbane are seemingly trying to escape a psychiatric ward that has dark intentions.
Let me start off my saying I’m very interested at the genre this movie has taken. Very rarely do we see a super hero movie with horror elements added to it. Deadpool was a comedy, Logan was a western and now The New Mutants is horror.
The trailer doesn’t show too much which is good and I’ll definitely be looking forward to the second trailer when it comes out. I hope that with the second trailer we’ll get to see all of their powers manifest to see what it will look like on the big screen.
The New Mutants, are you looking forward to it?

Let me go to Popeye’s Chicken! WE NEED TO BRING THE BOONDOCKS BACK!! LMBFAO
ORGINAL STORY POSTED Thursday, October 19, 2017
A Long Beach restaurant is under fire after customers found out the restaurant was re-serving Popeyes Louisiana Chicken.
For the last four years, Kimberly Sanchez has been serving up breakfast and lunch at her restaurant, Sweet Dixie Kitchen.
“Most of my stuff from here is made from scratch,” she said.
The restaurant’s troubles started after a customer allegedly saw Sweet Dixie employees carrying Popeyes boxes into the kitchen. The customer then wrote a Yelp review relaying his dissatisfaction with having to pay a premium for fast food fried chicken.
