Nipsy Hussle Shot Dead outside his clothing store
LOS ANGELES — The Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle was killed in a shooting outside his clothing store in Los Angeles, multiple law enforcement sources said. Two other men were in serious condition, and a suspect remained at large.
No further information was immediately available about the shooting at Marathon Clothing on Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles. But just a couple of hours before, Hussle, 33, whose real name was Ermias Ashgedom, had tweeted, “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”
A large crowd of people, many of them crying, gathered at the intersection as police and media helicopters whirred overhead.
One of them was Matthew Talley of Denver, the engineer and director known as Megatron.
“It ain’t just Los Angeles. He was an inspiration that was bigger than Los Angeles,” Talley said. “You see all these people out here? …
“He was really cool,” Talley said. “He was a dope individual every time I met him.”
Hussle’s debut studio album, “Victory Lap” was nominated for Best Rap Album at this year’s Grammy Awards.
Hussle had long been associated with the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, one of Los Angeles’ largest street gangs, which he publicly acknowledged in a 2010 interview with Complex magazine.
In more recent years, however, Hussle had developed an interest in technology and community development, and he was part of a team of artists and entrepreneurs who developed Destination Crenshaw, an open-air museum devoted to honoring African-American artistic achievement.
“In our culture, there’s a narrative that says, ‘Follow the athletes, follow the entertainers,'” he told the Los Angeles Times last year. “And that’s cool, but there should be something that says, ‘Follow Elon Musk, follow [Mark] Zuckerberg.’
In an interview last year with Forbes, Hussle said that as a youth, he’d fallen prey to the “ignorance and self-destructiveness in the narrative that was pushed on us through music in our generation.”

KOMO NEWS 4 Seattle documentary Seattle is dying
This documentary is very insightful. And what they’re saying is true. Remember your city is what you make of it. It’s in who you vote for that makes all the difference. Sometimes you need to make change yourself. There are ways to fix this problem it just takes a village. And I’m not gonna go there with the all lives matter people. Because all lives don’t matter. It is also good to NOT paint homelessness with one brush. There are many layers to homelessness as to who what where when and why ? Homelessness is not just caused by drugs and alcohol.
Writers NOTE: when looking at this documentary have an open mind . There are many many different reasons as to why homeless this happens. We are all one paycheck away from being homeless.

I had my doubts about Cobra Kai season 1. Because I am a big 1980s black girl karate kid fan! Went and saw ALL 3 movies! Cobra Kai tells the story and the journey of Johnny Lawrence. You know the one who got his ass kicked by Daniel LaRusso in the final scene of karate kid ? Daniel and Johnny are still rivals and trying to find THEIR balance in their lives. I don’t want to be to a spoiler. So go watch season one on YouTube premium ! First two episodes of season one is free !
Jordan Peele: ‘I Don’t See Myself Casting A White Dude As The Lead’
Jordan Peele has an Oscar, a second hit horror film in “Us” and growing clout in Hollywood.
And he’s determined to use it for good.
In a conversation this week at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in LA, the writer-director said he’s committed to casting black actors in his movies’ most prominent parts.
In fact, he said (per The Hollywood Reporter), “I don’t see myself casting a white dude as the lead in my movie. Not that I don’t like white dudes. But I’ve seen that movie.”
The remark drew laughs, but Peele was serious about the inroads black actors can make, according to THR.
“It really is one of the best, greatest pieces of this story, is feeling like we are in this time — a renaissance has happened and proved the myths about representation in the industry are false.”
Peele’s doppelganger fright flick “Us,” led by a black cast, premiered last weekend to an original horror-film record $70 million box office. His previous fright film, 2017’s “Get Out,” about white people kidnapping black people into brain-altered servitude, parlayed a reported $4.5 million budget into more than $176 million in ticket sales. It also won him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
Yep, he’s on a roll. (He’s also hosting, narrating and executive producing the upcoming CBS All Access reboot of “The Twilight Zone.”)
“The way I look at it,” he said Monday at the improv venue, “I get to cast black people in my movies. I feel fortunate to be in this position where I can say to Universal, ‘I want to make a $20 million horror movie with a black family.’ And they say yes.”
