Mariah Carey’s sister arrested in Saugerties for prostitution
SAUGERTIES >> The sister of pop diva Mariah Carey was arrested on a prostitution charge here on Friday, and police are saying anyone who may have had a sexual encounter with the woman should see their doctor.
Alison A. Carey, 55, the older sister of the superstar singer, was arrested by Saugerties police following an undercover investigation into allegations that she was prostituting out of a town of Saugerties hotel. Police would not identify the hotel.
She was arrested after soliciting money in exchange for sexual favors from an undercover police officer posing as a client.
Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said when she was arrested Carey identified herself as the sister of the performer, who was once included on Forbes’ list of the 20 richest women in entertainment.
Sinagra said an internet search of the two women appeared to confirmed the claim.
Sinagra said Carey, whom police described as transient, was advertising her services on the Internet, and according to her posting, had been working out of the hotel for about a week.
One ad, posted at 6:18 p.m. on Friday, contains two photos of Carey and states: “Im a pretty lady looking for guys who are looking to have some fun and get into a world of pleasure that other woman just cant provide two you, woman with the ability to make the earth move for you and to get you to see stars, oh yea with me its,”ITS SUCH A SWEET,SWEET FANTASY BABY, WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES I COME AND TAKE YOU ON AND ON.” That phrasing mimics the lyrics from Mariah Carey’s 1995 hit “Fantasy.”
Two other ads, posted by the same user, were dated July 31 and Aug. 15.
Sinagra said police were tipped off about the ads, which had been placed on a website that includes an “adult” category.
Sinagra said that “based on other stories,” there could be cause for concern for people who had sexual encounters with Carey, particularly if it was unprotected, and urged those individuals to contact their doctors.
Carey was arraigned in Saugerties Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. She is due in Saugerties Town Court on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Mo. man accused of having sex with cow
GREENE COUNTY, MO. – Deputies say a Fair Grove woman walked into her barn last month and found a man trying to have sex with her cow.
Darrell Helton, 68, of Nixa, was charged last week with unlawful sex with an animal after he was allegedly caught in the act.
According to a probable cause statement, a woman noticed an unknown car parked near her barn on the evening of June 10, so she went inside the barn to investigate.
As the woman entered, she saw a naked man — identified as Helton — standing behind one of her cows apparently having sex with the animal, according to the statement.
Helton allegedly told deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office that he went to the property in Fair Grove, caught a cow, tied it to the corral and tried to have sex with the animal.
The statement says Helton told authorities that was the second time he had engaged in sexual acts with a cow on that property.
Unlawful sex with an animal is a Class A Misdemeanor punishable by up to one year behind bars.
It does not appear Helton was jailed. Helton does not have an attorney listed for this case. The News-Leader was unable to reach Helton for comment using phone numbers listed for him in online records.

2 Florida Paramedics Arrested After Allegedly Taking Degrading Photos of 41 Patients in ‘Selfie War’
Two Florida paramedics have been arrested for engaging in a “selfie war” competition by taking pictures with patients under their care.
“Many patients were intubated, sedated, or otherwise unconscious at the time,” said Okaloosa County Sheriff Larry Ashley’s office Facebook page. “The defendants exchanged texts challenging each other to produce more selfies and to ‘step up’ their game.”
Deputies arrested Kayla Renee Dubois, 24, of Navarre, Thursday and Christopher Wimmer, 33, of Crestview, turned himself in later that day.
Dubois faces two charges of interception and disclosure of oral communications, a felony, and Wimmer faces seven counts of the same charge plus a charge of misdemeanor battery because he allegedly posed while holding open a patient’s eyelid.
He also posed with an elderly woman with her breast exposed, the sheriff’s office said.
Ashley’s office started investigating the case in May after getting complaints from other emergency system employees, who had also received the texts with pictures and videos. Investigators identified a total of 41 patients who were props in the game, three of whom apparently gave their permission, the sheriff’s office said.
Nineteen of the other patients are female, 17 are male, ranging in age from 24-86, and two have died, the office said.
Dubois was fired and Wimmer resigned on May 20.
The sheriff’s office did not immediately return a phone call asking for a more detailed explanation of the Florida charges.

Child Porn Found at Home of Brea Man Accused of Secretly Filming Disabled Daughter’s Caretakers
A 54-year-old man who was arrested this week after he allegedly secretly recorded his daughter’s caregivers while they changed or used the bathroom at his Brea home also possessed pornographic images of children, police said.
David Russell Lowe was taken into custody Tuesday at his residence in the 900 block of East Almond Drive following an investigation that took place over the past year, according to a Brea Police Department news release.
Lowe is accused of asking at least 10 caregivers to teach his mentally disabled adult daughter how to fasten a bra, which they did while partly clothed, the release stated. He then allegedly recorded them with a hidden camera as they instructed his daughter.
Investigators believe his request to the caregivers was a “ruse” so he could secretly film them, police said in the statement.
During a search of the suspect’s home, investigators recovered “images of child pornography … along with numerous videos of caregivers as they used the restroom and changed clothes,” the release stated.
Lowe faces 10 misdemeanor counts of invading someone’s privacy by use of a camera or device, and a felony charge of possessing child pornography.
Police were unsure whether Lowe employed any other caregivers, but have asked anyone who worked as a caregiver in his home to contact Brea police Detective Irene Crews at [email protected].

14 Shot in Drive-by Shooting Outside House Party in South Bakersfield: Sheriff’s Office
Fourteen people were hospitalized after being wounded in a drive-by shooting outside a house party in South Bakersfield early Saturday, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said.
“Numerous” partygoers were on the street in front of a residence in the 600 block of Stephens Drive shortly before 1 a.m. when a vehicle drove past and one or more occupants began firing into the crowd, according to a sheriff’s news release.
Fourteen people were hit by the gunfire; their injuries included gunshot wounds to the chest, arm and legs, the release stated.
All 14 victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment, according to the release. Two people were critically injured in the shooting but are expected to survive.
The conditions of the rest of the patients was not provided.
About 150 people showed up to the party according to the release.
Many of those in attendance were between the ages of 15 and 18, and not all of them were invited guests, the Sheriff’s Office told Bakersfield station KERO-TV.
The shots were fired when the party began dispersing after some type of disagreement, according to the television station, citing the Sheriff’s Office. Authorities believe three people, possibly between the ages of 17 and 19, are responsible for the shooting.
At least two different guns were used by the shooters, and people from the crowd returned fire, the Sheriff’s Office told KERO.
Authorities did not immediately have a detailed description of the vehicle, or of the shooters.
No additional information was released about the incident, which remains under investigation.
4 suspects conducted armed robberies using Pokemon-Go, police say
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO –
O’FALLON, MO (KTVI) – A new smartphone game is challenging Pokémon fans to venture into the real world to “catch ’em all,” which is concerning to O’Fallon police. They are are warning people playing Pokémon Go to use caution. Police say criminals are using the app to lure players in the St. Louis region to an isolated location and then rob them.
O’Fallon police say robbers targeted someone early Sunday morning. The victim, a pedestrian on Feise Road, described four occupants of a black BMW. A 911 call was placed at the Circle K at Highway K and Feise Road.
Police saw a BMW going southbound on Highway K, leaving the area of the robbery. The officer stopped the BMW at around 2am Sunday on the CVS lot at Routes K and N, where an occupant tried to throw a handgun from the vehicle. The four suspects have been identified, and taken into custody. Their ages range from 16-18 years old.
O’Fallon Police say there have been similar armed robberies in St. Louis City, County, and St. Charles County, MO, over the last couple of days. A similar vehicle was described by other victims. According to Gizmodo, about eight or nine people have been robbed by four men over the past couple of days,
Police say the robbers got the victims to a location by setting up a beacon to a Pokéstop to lure more players. They were using the app to locate people standing in the middle of parking lots and other isolated locations.
Pokémon GO users are also being targeted around the world. The app uses augmented reality to place creatures and items in real locations, including the Eiffel Tower, Shinjuku Station, and… Darwin Police Station in Australia.
In a Facebook post, the Australian Police, Fire and Emergency Services asks players not to go hunting inside the station, saying that they merely need to be close to the building to collect their goodies.
As you walk through the world, Pokémon GO uses your phone’s GPS to alert you when you’re close to a creature. When you turn on the camera, the Pokémon appears overlaid on whatever your phone sees, and players can flick Pokéballs with their fingers to capture them.
While most Pokémon diehards are delighted about the launch, some worry about what their surroundings will say about their Pokémon chasing behavior.
Others are worried about the game bringing them to dangerous places. The game includes a warning asking people to be aware of their surroundings, while Australian police asked players to look up from their phones when they cross the street.
The game is a cooperation between Niantic, Inc., Nintendo, and The Pokémon Company.
“For the first time, with this game, Pokémon are going to roam free in the real world,” John Hanke, CEO of Niantic said.
“Pokémon GO will allow players to capture Pokémon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks, and the countryside in places all around the world,” Hanke added.
Hanke also hinted that popular Pokémon like Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Pikachu are hiding by popular spots like the waterfront in San Francisco.

Mom storms house to rescue daughter allegedly tortured by husband in front of infant *graphic photos*
ATLANTA, GA. – Prosper Ortega’s family says just six months ago, she was a happy 23-year-old bride. Photos show her beaming and posing with her growing belly. Their child, Ari, would be born June 16th.
Now, Prosper in the hospital in serious condition after that same husband, Aaron is charged with aggravated battery, false imprisonment, and cruelty to children. Ortega’s family says he tortured her for days, drugging her beverages to keep her weak.
Prosper’s family says it all happened in front of their weeks-old infant baby boy.
The pictures of injuries are difficult to see, but Ortega’s family says she insisted they post them because she wanted people to see what had happened to her.
Ortega, and her mother, Fawn, have worked with domestic violence victims and helped to combat sex trafficking. They believe Uchitel threatened to leave with the baby, so Prosper initially endured the abuse believing it would make him stay.
She wanted to make sure “people are aware this can happen, and that it happened to her and she couldn’t believe it because she loved him so much,” said Fawn Ortega.
The couple had a fight last November and Uchitel had been ordered to take an anger management class. Ortega says Uchitel talked positively about the program, making it even harder to reconcile what happened to her daughter.
“Her ribs are broken. He beat her ribs and breast saying her milk was useless and she was worthless,” said Ortega. “He tried to blind her so she couldn’t see her baby, he tried to make her deaf so she couldn’t hear him crying for her.”
According to Ortega, when her daughter broke a window and tried to run away, the husband tied her to the bed and cut off her hair. He also tried to rip out her teeth and bite off her top lip.
Ortega says her daughter was stabbed in the chest and the back of her leg. She was within hours of dying when the mother forced her way inside the house to save her daughter.
“I fought him. I fought him. I just went in there and I fought him,” she said.
The horrific story, and the photos to go with it, have gone viral. Prosper faces multiple medical procedures, and the online community has rallied around that need, donating more than $47,000 in three days.
Ortega says what she needs most is for her daughter to heal, emotionally and physically. “I just want her to be okay and I just want to make sure he doesn’t get out because she’s terrified he’s going to get out.”
Aaron Uchitel remains in jail. Because of the holiday, police could not comment on the case, nor could we get information from the jail on Uchitel’s next court appearance.

Man charged with two rapes gets one day in jail
(NEWSER) – A former Indiana University student charged with raping two women will get off with a year of probation and one day in jail, WXIN reports.
John Enochs took a plea deal and was sentenced Thursday, pleading guilty to misdemeanor battery. According to the New York Daily News, it’s unclear why prosecutors decided to drop the rape charges — felonies punishable by up to 16 years in prison — against Enochs. But that didn’t stop the sentence from immediately being compared to the infamously lenient one issued against Stanford swimmer Brock Turner earlier this month.
A woman says she was at an April 2015 party at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity when she went inside to use the restroom, WISH reports. She says the next thing she remembers is being naked and alone with an unknown man having sex with her. She says she told him to stop multiple times, but he wouldn’t. She suffered a laceration to her genitals in the attack.
Authorities say security video showed Enochs enter the room with the victim and leave 24 minutes later. Police found a similar case from 2013, and that victim agreed to work with authorities; DNA evidence, eyewitness statements and IDs from the women led in September to the two rape charges against Enochs.
Indiana University has been criticized for how it handles sexual assaults on campus and currently has three Title IX complaints against it.

Michael Jackson kept child pornography collection at home – sources say
LOS OLIVOS, Calif. — The late Michael Jackson had a large collection of pornographic material at his Neverland Ranch.
Police reports say Jackson’s bedroom and bathroom had at least seven collections of work that show boys in their teenage years and younger, fully nude or partially clothed, according to Radar Online.
Authorities made the discovery during a search of the home in November 2003.
Many of the material were submitted after a young boy claimed Jackson sexually abused and assaulted him on multiple occasions. Jackson was ultimately acquitted of molestation charges in 2005.
Jackson was a pop singer/songwriter whose fame began with the Jackson 5 alongside his brothers. He later went on to have a successful solo career and died in 2009 from a medication overdose.
His physician was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
