Police Fatally Shoot Man Who Ignored Orders. He Was Deaf
Police fatally shot a 35-year-old deaf man Tuesday night in Oklahoma City while neighbors screamed at officers that the man couldn’t hear their commands, the New York Daily News reports.
Police say Magdiel Sanchez’s father was behind the wheel of a car that hit an object and didn’t stop. When officers arrived at his home to investigate, they found Sanchez—who had not been in the car with his father—on the porch.
Police say Sanchez was holding a metal pipe (officers originally called it a stick). According to NBC News, a neighbor says Sanchez, who was deaf and used notes to communicate, often carried the pipe to ward off stray dogs during nighttime walks.
Officers told Sanchez to drop the pipe and get on the ground. He couldn’t hear them.
As Sanchez walked toward officers, neighbors screamed that he “can’t hear you.” Capt.
Bo Mathews says it’s possible officers didn’t hear the neighbors. “When you have a weapon out, you can get what they call tunnel vision, or you can lock into just the person who has the weapon, the threat against you,” Mathews says.
Lt. Matthew Lindsey fired a Taser at Sanchez while Sgt. Christopher Barnes fired his gun, KOCO reports. The officers were about 15 feet away from Sanchez at the time.
Mathews says Barnes fired “more than one” shot at Sanchez. According to the Washington Post, it’s unclear why Barnes used his gun instead of a Taser.
Neither officer was wearing a body camera. Barnes has been placed on leave. Sanchez, who died at the scene, had no criminal history.
High school sparks backlash with mock slavery lesson with tying wrists together, lie on floor and watch Roots
A California high school is facing a backlash after administering an interactive mock slavery lesson to students.
In the activity at Whitney High School, 8th grade students played the part of slaves, with their hands bound with masking tape, CBS Los Angeles reported. The teachers played the part of the slave ship captains.
An explainer of the lesson plan was emailed to parents Sept. 5, describing it as a “simulation activity” looking to teach “students about the slave system in colonial America.” One parent posted a copy of the letter to Facebook.
It also said that the activity was meant to be a surprise because it was “more powerful” when it was something the students were “not prepared for.”
After detailing the activity, the teachers wrote, “The idea is for them to be uncomfortable and to feel mistreated, like a piece of property. However, please rest assured that your child will not be physically or emotionally hurt/harmed in any way.”
The parent who posted the letter on Facebook reportedly told the school that her son would not be participating.
“As the mother of a black child, I feared that my son’s participation would lead him to experience trauma, perhaps at a cellular level, and have a visceral reaction of anger and fear during the exercise itself,” she told the Huffington Post.
The program was removed from the curriculum on Monday, according to CBS Los Angeles.
Other faculty members at the school reportedly agreed with the decision.
“I think there are other ways to teach tolerance and maybe even better ways and best practices to broach these sensitive topics,” an English teacher at the school told CBS Los Angeles.
Whitney High School did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

FL Naval nurses booted over disturbing pics, posts of ‘mini Satan’ newborns
Nurses at a naval hospital in Florida have been booted from their posts after sick photos went viral of them rudely posing with newborn babies and referring to the tots as “mini Satans.”
One of the pics posted to Snapchat shows Allyson Thompson, a corpsman at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, flipping the bird to a baby who’s wrapped in a blanket, along with the caption, “How I currently feel about these mini Satans,” according to Action News Jacksonville.
In another photo, Thompson grins as she holds a baby up by its arms. The pic was shared by a woman who identified the employee as a “navy nurse” who made the newborn dance to rap music, First Coast News reported.
The rogue staffers have been “removed from patient care,” the hospital said in a statement.
“We are aware of a video/photo posted online. It’s outrageous, unacceptable, incredibly unprofessional, and cannot be tolerated,” the hospital said. “We have identified the staff members involved. They have been removed from patient care and they will be handled by the legal system and military justice. We’re in the process of notifying the patient’s parents.”
Thompson and Barrett could not immediately be reached.

Jogger won’t stop pooping on family’s lawn
This jogger has a serious case of the runs — and she just doesn’t give a crap.
A Colorado mom is losing her s—t over a mystery woman who’s been pooping outside her house at least once a week.
Cathy Budde, of Colorado Springs, said her kids caught the daring defecator mid-squat.
“They are like, ‘There’s a lady taking a poop!’ So I come outside, and I’m like … ‘Are you serious?’” Budde told KKTV. “‘Are you really taking a poop right here in front of my kids!?’ She’s like, ‘Yeah, sorry!’”
But instead of cutting the crap, the woman — whom the Buddes have dubbed “The Mad Pooper” — has returned to do her business outside the family’s house for at least the past seven weeks, even though there’s a bathroom across the street.
“I thought for sure she’s mortified, it was an accident, she’ll go get a dog bag, come back, clean it up, never run here ever again,” said Budde, who said the jogger comes armed with napkins. “Not the case.”
The Buddes have since turned to the Colorado Springs Police Department for help in nabbing the carefree crapper.
But cops are just as dumbfounded.
“I’ve been here 35 plus years and I’ve never experienced someone that has been defecating in the same area multiple times. It’s bizarre,” Lt. Howard Black told The Post.
Black acknowledged the toilet humor behind the mystery — but said the culprit could have a legitimate mental health issue.
“I don’t want to make this a joke if this is someone in crisis or there’s an issue there,” he said.
The feces fiend could face charges of public defecation, if caught.
“This is an investigation, we will get her identified,” said Black. “We want to hold her accountable for this inappropriate behavior.”
“I put a sign on the wall that’s like ‘Please, I’m begging you, please stop,’” said Budde, who’s taken photos of her mid-action. “She ran by it like 15 times yesterday, and she still pooped.”
“There’s plenty of public restrooms less than a block away from where she’s targeting,” the fed-up mom added. “This is intentional.”

Pieology Employee Fired After F— The Cops was Printed on Torrance Officer’s Receipt
An employee at a pizza shop in Torrance was fired Monday after printing a derogatory message on a police officer’s receipt.
The exchange occurred Thursday when the uniformed officer stopped by Pieology about noon for a quick lunch. When the cashier handed him his receipt, he noticed “F— The Cops” printed in the top right corner, said Sgt. Ronald Harris of the Torrance Police Department.
“He was very empathetic, wanted to take the person aside and ask them why they felt so harshly against law enforcement,” Harris said of the officer, who was identified only as a department veteran. “He wanted to talk to this person about it.”
But, Harris said, the officer was pressed for time and ultimately stayed quiet because he didn’t want his lunch to be tampered with.
On Monday, he shared what happened with fellow officers. Outraged, one officer’s wife posted a photo of the receipt on Facebook.
By the evening, the post was shared more than 5,300 times and had generated more than 1,500 comments.
In a statement posted to social media, the Rancho Santa Margarita-based pizza chain called the incident “extremely disappointing” to hear.
“The actions of this individual do not in any way reflect that of Pieology,” the company said.
“The department really wants to understand why the person did that and understand if there’s something deeper, or why this person has ill will toward law enforcement. We really want to build bridges,” Harris said. “Perhaps we can try to help, or try to assist her. That’s our take on it.”

Porn couple busted for filming x-rated movies inside Burger King
A randy couple are facing jail for allegedly making a series of explicit public porno films including one in a Burger King.
Police in Louisiana say they discovered images which suggest the pair filmed graphic scenes inside a public library, supermarket and the popular fast food restaurant.
The Smoking Gun reports the married couple are now facing obscenity charges — which could lead to a jail term.
It is claimed by local police that they suspects “recorded themselves performing sexual activities on each other and uploaded them to a porn site.”
Looking into the case, it is said the pair in the sordid videos are Elizabeth Jernigan, 33, and her husband Rex, 35.
Investigators forced themselves to have a good long look at the couple’s PornHub page and found it was packed with over 160 explicit videos.
Officers told the investigative website that the Jernigans recorded themselves engaged in sexual activity “in various other businesses throughout the City of Houma and Terrebonne Parish.”
They said the PornHub videos seem to show the wife exposing herself and masturbating inside various businesses at the Southland Mall in Houma including a Burger King.
The public library video includes similar explicit exploits and concludes with Elizabeth performing oral sex on her husband in front of a magazine rack.
The Jernigans are now each charged with six counts of obscenity.
Rex later shared this news on the couple’s PornHub page after their release on bail.
Under his pseudonym Sexybeast82, he wrote: “To all my friends and followers, the wife and I just recently bailed out of jail for our public videos we posted on pornhub, hopefully soon we’ll get to post a new video soon.” His wife is known as LaylaDevine.
The couple’s PornHub page has 4,187 subscribers and its videos have been viewed more than 1.7 million times.

Idaho Dad Wants Parents to ‘Feel My Heartbreak’ After Son Is Bullied, Called a Monster at School
When Dan Bezzant of Idaho heard what happened to his son at school Thursday, he broke down crying.
The Ammon father was sitting in his driveway when he received a phone call from his ex-wife explaining what had occurred during school breakfast.
“Jackson was eating and three older boys started picking on him. They were saying he looked like a monster and kept calling him names,” Bezzant told EastIdahoNews.com. “Luckily an aide caught it, but hearing this I just broke down.”
Jackson Bezzant, who will turn 8 years old on Sept. 28, was born with a rare condition called Treachers Collins syndrome. It affects the development of bones and facial tissues and an estimated 1 in 50,000 people have the condition.
Jackson wears hearing aids as he is nearly completely deaf and Treachers Collins has affected his eyesight. The first-grader has already had one major surgery to rebuild his left eye socket and will need to undergo more procedures.
Because of the way he looks, Bezzant says people often stare at Jackson and make hurtful comments.
“The adults are worse than the children,” Bezzant says. “One time a woman walked past us and we could hear her say, ‘Did you see that little boy’s face?’ If she’s saying things like that, what are her children saying? How are they acting?”
Bezzant decided the bullying against his son needed to stop so he posted this message on his Facebook page Thursday night before going to bed:
“My heart is in pieces right now…my soul feels like it’s ripping from my chest…this beautiful young man my son Jackson has to endure a constant barrage of derogatory comments and ignorance like I’ve never witnessed. He is called ugly and freak and monster on a daily basis by his peers at school. He talks about suicide…he’s not quite 8! He says he has no friends and everyone hates him. Kids throw rocks at him and push him shouting these horrific words…please please take a minute and imagine if this were your child. Take a minute to educate your children about special needs. Talk to them about compassion and love for our fellow man. His condition is called Treacher Collins. Maybe even look it up. He’s endured horrific surgery and has several more in the coming years. Anyway…I could go on…but please educate your children. Please…share this. This shouldn’t be happening…to anyone.”
People around the world immediately responded and, as of Friday afternoon, the post had been shared more than 2,500 times and had nearly 4,000 reactions.
“Several parents have contacted me and said their children want to be friends with Jackson. Some older boys want to pal around with him and make sure he’s protected. It’s pretty surreal,” Bezzant says.
Bezzant wants to make it clear that Jackson’s school is doing a good job at preventing bullying, and he doesn’t place any blame on teachers or administrators.
He says it’s parents of other children who need to teach their kids to be kind and accepting.
“I want parents to see my post and feel my heartbreak. This could be any kid anywhere,” Bezzant says. “Please educate your children and let them know that bullying is not OK.”
Bezzant doesn’t plan to tell Jackson about the Facebook post and wasn’t expecting it to be so popular. Folks have offered money and gifts, which the family is declining, and Bezzant has set up a P.O. box for people wanting to send Jackson cards.
Bezzant says he’s also learned about two other children in east Idaho with Treachers Collins syndrome, and they plan to meet for a playgroup and lunch soon.
“I didn’t think a simple Facebook post would get this big. I just hope this helps,” Bezzant says. “Jackson may not look like your ‘normal’ kid, but he is such a good boy and he’s got a huge heart. That’s what matters.”
Cards for Jackson Bezzant can be sent to P.O. Box 1563 Idaho Falls, ID 83403.
Woman accused of fatally shooting sleeping boyfriend, cutting up body with a machete
A Texas woman fatally shot and then dismembered her boyfriend with a machete before leaving his remains in dumpsters of her apartment complex, court documents allege.
Cierra Alexis Sutton has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Steven Coleman, who was last seen on the evening of Aug. 16 in Baytown.
According to investigators, Sutton admitted to others that she had shot Coleman in the head as he slept after an argument. Because his body was too heavy for her to carry, Sutton allegedly hacked it into smaller pieces with a machete and then disposed of the smaller pieces in various local dumpsters.
On Sunday, Coleman’s close friend Dominique Clark spoke to Eyewitness News about Sutton’s arrest.
“Devil. That’s the mind of a bad spirit,” Clark said. “That’s not a normal mind. That’s not a mind of God. That’s not one of God’s children.”
On Aug. 22, a male torso was found in a Chambers County landfill that receives trash from dumpsters throughout Baytown and Pasadena. While the torso has yet to be definitively identified as Coleman’s, investigators say some key physical characteristics do match.
Before the torso was found, Clark said Sutton stayed with Coleman’s family as they looked for their missing loved one.
“She played the role of an innocent person,” Clark said. “She played the role of an innocent person, and she played it to the fullest.”
Coleman’s credit cards were used at a Harris County Walmart after he went missing, according to investigators, and the woman caught on surveillance camera buying duct tape and a mattress pad with Coleman’s card closely matched Sutton’s description.
Witnesses reported seeing Sutton and other men moving furniture out of Coleman’s apartment on Aug. 20; by the time investigators searched the apartment on Aug. 24, most of the furniture had been removed from the unit, but crime scene investigators did find blood in several rooms, including the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Investigators said they also found blood in Sutton’s Jeep.
In an interview with detectives, one of Coleman’s friends told detectives that Coleman “told her on numerous occasions if he was ever to go missing, she needed to make sure police looked into [Sutton] as the cause,” according to court documents.
Investigators say they had attempted to interview Sutton about Coleman’s disappearance, but she failed to show up for interviews. A third party tipped authorities off after Sutton allegedly spoke openly about the crime to others.
As Coleman’s family and friends wait for justice, they can’t help but think back on the man they lost.
“He was an original,” Clark said. “He was a unique guy. One of those you walk in the room and you can’t help but notice.”
Now he’s hoping the person who took his friend away will spend years behind bars.
“I thank God every day for even giving me the opportunity to experience a person like that,” Clark said. “I will never meet a person like that ever again.”
According to Baytown police, Sutton was taken into custody on Thursday in Louisiana.

“I failed my drug test because of my weave” : de Blasio detail cop
An NYPD sergeant who once worked in First Lady Chirlane McCray’s personal security detail has coiffed-up quite an excuse after testing positive for marijuana — she’s claiming the department mistakenly tested a strand from her human-hair weave. The hair-brained claim is the latest bid by Sgt. Tracy Gittens to keep her job after a random drug test came up positive for pot and she was pulled from overseeing security at Gracie Mansion, sources tell The Post.
The 13-year department veteran — who has been on paid desk duty in Queens since this winter and is awaiting a departmental trial — insists that when she was tested, technicians unknowingly collected strands of human hair from her weave.
They snipped from the back of her head, where she couldn’t see, sources said she is claiming — and had they tested her actual hair, it would have been clean of drugs.
“She doesn’t smoke marijuana and she’s unaware how it may have gotten into her system,” one police source told The Post. “That’s why she’s thinking it may have been the weave.”
Other colleagues say it’s tuft to believe.
“Oh stop; it doesn’t even pass the laugh test,” scoffed one police source. “That’s one of the lamest excuses I’ve ever heard. What people will do to save their jobs is pathetic.”
Another cop said the sergeant should have said she was wearing a weave at the test site, if she was concerned.
“She should have said upfront that is not my real hair so they could take the hair from somewhere else. I’ve heard every excuse, but those tests are 100 percent accurate and I tend not to believe her story.”
Gittens did not respond to requests to interview; her lawyer, John D’Alessandro, also declined to comment.
She’s not the first cop to attempt a crazy-sounding dodge after testing positive for pot. In 2006, an anti-terror detective, Anthony Chiofalo, claimed his wife had laced his meatballs with marijuana without telling him in hopes that a positive drug test would force him into retirement.
The “spacey meatball” defense failed utterly. Chiofalo was fired; two years later, he lost a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit that claimed the firing was “arbitrary, capricious, unreasonable and unconstitutional.”

Wife arrested for punching husband after he interrupted her ‘pleasuring herself’
A Florida woman punched her husband in the face after he burst into her bedroom while she was pleasuring herself — because he thought he heard her having sex with another man, police said.
Flavia Higgs, a 42-year-old licensed private investigator, was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge after the wild ordeal in the bedroom of their Port St. Lucie home on Sept. 7, according to a police report obtained by The Smoking Gun.
Higgs’ 43-year-old husband, Garrett — who had been living in a separate bedroom from his estranged wife for more than a year — told a responding officer that he returned home and heard “moaning from the house” before walking toward the room and knocking on the door.
“He banged and she would not answer the door,” according to the police report. “He said he thought there was another man in his house and he used a screwdriver to open the door.”
Once he barged in, his humiliated wife tried to stop her husband and “physically escort him out” of the room as he tried to push past her and pushed her arm against a wall. She then struck Higgs in the face, the report states.
“He wasn’t sure if it was open or closed handed,” according to the report. “When this happened they both started screaming and yelling and she called 911.”
Flavia Higgs later confirmed to the officer that she had been “pleasuring herself” inside the room when her estranged husband came home. She was arrested since she was the first person to “initiate physical contact,” according to the responding officer.
No injuries were reported. Flavia Higgs, who is listed on a state website as a licensed private investigator, was booked into St. Lucie County Jail and was later released, according to jail records.
