Kentucky pastor busted for trying to set up threesome with minors

News & Info

A Kentucky pastor was busted for trying to set up a threesome with two minors who work for him, according to police.

Bobby Blackburn, who is the pastor of Elevate Church, turned himself in on Wednesday on felony charges of prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor to commit a sex act, the Prestonsburg police department said.

Blackburn, 26, allegedly texted a female employee, who is a minor, to arrange a threesome with her and another underage girl who work at his business.

The police report didn’t state where Blackburn employs the girls, but he’s listed as the owner of a Prestonsburg pizza shop on LinkedIn, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Police said one of the girls showed an officer text messages from the pastor allegedly requesting the threesome and other sexual acts.

A third girl visited the police department and claimed she sent the obscene messages from the pastor’s phone, but later recanted, according to police. She allegedly told officers that Blackburn threatened she would lose her job if she didn’t say she was behind the texts.

Officers went to retrieve Blackburn’s phone through a search warrant, but his relatives claimed the device was tossed into a local river, authorities said.

Blackburn is scheduled to appear in court June 16 for his arraignment. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.

He could not be immediately reached for comment.

Mother, 2 girls terrified by naked man smashing through wall with hammer

News & Info

CORONA, Calif. – A mother and her two daughters are still recovering after they say a man broke into their Southern California home, took off all his clothes, and tried to use a hammer to smash through a wall to reach the room where they had barricaded themselves.

Police arrested 43-year-old Jason Nelson, a neighbor, after he allegedly broke into the home in the 800 block of Mandevilla Way in Corona around 5 a.m. Saturday.

Rachel Bollin said she was home with her two daughters, while her husband was away on business, when she heard a loud smash and thought her dogs were getting into trouble.

Then she heard a man’s voice say, “Call 911. I’m in your home.”

He used a child’s scooter to break a rear sliding glass door, Bollin said, then went to the garage, removed all his clothes, and got a hammer before making his way up the stairs to the bedrooms.

At that point, Bollin said she called 911 as she barricaded herself and her twin daughters in a bedroom across from the master bedroom.

She said her terrified girls were hiding under blankets while the naked intruder pounded on the bedroom door.

Through all this, Bollin said she was screaming out the window for help, speaking to the 911 dispatcher on the phone, and trying to protect her children at the same time.

The man then moved to the master closet and began smashing through a wall with the hammer, almost breaking through to the adjoining room to reach Bollin and her daughters.

Thankfully, police arrived within minutes and arrested the intruder.

“In my mind, his intention was to at least kill me,” Bollin said. “And then, why are you naked? What is your intention? And now you’re busting into a child’s room.”

However, much to Bollin’s shock and anger, she said, he was released on bail four hours later.

“I always felt like in California that we really cared about people and that we were trying to create fair laws, but this is very, very unfair because he has more rights than my children. So forgive me, but at some point you have to say, there were minors in a room (and) he was naked and trying to break into (it), with a hammer.”

Corona Police Sgt. Chad Fountain said Nelson was booked on suspicion of residential burglary and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Bollin said the family is also considering civil action against him. She said they have taken out a restraining order and are appealing to state lawmakers for more information on the case.

The investigation is ongoing.

Family upset after receiving graduation cake made of Styrofoam from Walmart

News & Info

PASADENA, Texas (KPRC/CNN) – A Texas family got quite the surprise when they cut into a graduation cake and realized it was made of Styrofoam.

Marsy Flores, of Pasadena, said she wanted her daughter’s high school graduation party to be perfect.

“This is my baby, and she was graduating. So, it was very important to me,” Flores said.

The mom ordered a two-tier cake from Walmart for the celebration. When Flores went to pick it up last week, she said the bakery department couldn’t find the cake.

So, the store offered to give her a free sheet cake for the inconvenience.

After that hiccup, the party was back on track — until it was time to cut the cake. That’s when they discovered there was Styrofoam underneath the frosting.

Flores said both she and her daughter were humiliated in front of their family and friends.

“They can’t replace the moment that we lost. It’s a special moment, and this is what we got for it, a Styrofoam cake,” Flores said. “Not only did they mess up one time, they did it twice.”

She said the store gave her a $60 Walmart gift card following the incident.

A Walmart spokesperson also released the following statement: “The incident was a result of a misunderstanding. The matter has been resolved. The customer was given a gift card for her inconvenience.”

7-year-old boy raises $22,000 for Trump’s border wall

News & Info

(KOAT/CNN/Meredith) – A seven-year-old Texas boy raised $22,000 for President Donald Trump’s border wall by selling hot chocolate.

Benton Stevens of Austin said even though he has already raised so much, his goal is $50,000.

As for his inspiration, he said he “saw that Trump really wanted to build a wall.”

Construction continues on the privately-funded section of the border wall in Sunland Park, New Mexico.

A GoFundMe campaign started by the nonprofit group We Build The Wall, Inc. started in December and has since raised over $23 million. The group was founded by Purple Heart recipient and triple-amputee veteran Brian Kolfage.

Perhaps with Benton’s large donation, he might be one of the campaign’s biggest supporters.

The construction of the privately-funded section of the wall has met controversy. We Build The Wall, Inc. was served with a cease and desist order from the local government.

But, the group insists they have all the necessary permits and approvals and the wall is under full compliance with local laws.

The group says they will continue to add onto the border wall.

A Manhattan prosecutor could face criminal charges after he and his wife allegedly videotaped their nanny undressing and showering in their bathroom

News & Info

The nanny’s lawyer said a grand jury could soon hear evidence against the husband, Matthew Seltzer, 35, including possible felony charges of unlawful surveillance, attempted unlawful surveillance and falsification of business records.

“I am glad to see the District Attorney’s office finally moving forward with some semblance of justice,” said attorney Vincent White, noting that Brooklyn prosecutors told him they would present the case to a grand jury within four to six weeks.

Seltzer is married to Lauren Angelo-Seltzer, a Manhattan DA assistant.

Vanessa Rivas, 23, claims she caught the couple red-handed in January 2018 just as she was about to disrobe and shower at their StuyTown apartment.

She told The Post that she spotted the hidden camera, disguised to look like a black iPhone charger.

“I noticed a glare, and I was just like, wait this is odd, so I pulled it out of the socket, and the last video is me looking at it like, ‘What is this?’”

When she confronted Angelo-Seltzer, the ADA denied any knowledge of the camera — then used her law enforcement connections to try to intimidate the young care giver, Rivas claims.

The prosecutor summoned cops from the 13th Precinct, who threatened to arrest Rivas if she didn’t hand over the camera’s memory card, the nanny says. When she refused, officers let her go.

Then Angelo-Seltzer’s mom, former Manhattan Criminal Court judge Eileen Koretz, offered to pay Rivas for lost earnings after she’d quit her nanny gig if Rivas agreed to “end this.”

Instead, Rivas filed a police report and hired White to file a civil case against the couple.

Koretz, a judicial hearing officer, has since resigned from that post amid a probe by the state court inspector general, which is looking into whether the ex-judge meddled in the case, according to a court spokesman.

“I resigned solely for personal reasons and to spend more time with my family,” Koretz said in an email to The Post when asked if her departure was related to Rivas’ claims.

But court IG Sherrill Spatz launched her probe in January after The Post reported on the lawsuit. Koretz resigned in April, before the probe was completed, according to state court spokesperson Lucian Chalfen.

Rivas declined to drop the charges in an early deal offered to Seltzer by Brooklyn prosecutors, who are handling the case to avoid a conflict of interest, according to White of White, Hilferty and Albanese.

He said prosecutors revealed that Seltzer tried to alter his credit card statements to hide the camera purchase, leading to the possible falsification of business records charge, White claims.

Court documents show that Seltzer and Angelo-Seltzer have hired separate attorneys.

If convicted, Seltzer faces four to seven years in prison and could have to register as a sex offender.

Seltzer and his attorney could not be reached for comment.

Man shoots 18-year-old taking prom photos in front of his home, police say

News & Info

Detroit, Mich. (WXYZ) — Police are investigating a non-fatal shooting on Detroit’s west side that happened Friday around 7:00 p.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed the 18-year-old victim and a group of people were standing in front of a home on the 2900 block of Doris for a prom send off, when the homeowner came outside and began complaining about the crowd standing in front of his home.

The homeowner then pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting the 18-year-old, police say. The suspect then got into a blue or gray Hyundai vehicle and sped off from the scene.

Police say the victim was privately rushed to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

The investigation is ongoing.

Swim instructor charged after 3-year-old boy nearly drowns during swimming lesson

News & Info

(WFTV/CNN/Meredith) — A swim instructor in Florida is facing neglect charges after a three-year-old boy nearly drowned during a lesson last year.

Police said he spent almost two minutes under water, even though instructors were just feet away from him.

The incident was caught on video, where you can see the three-year-old boy in the pool at Park Maitland School lose the swim board he was holding onto and go under water.

He stays there for what feels like forever until an instructor, 34-year-old Jessica Kretz, notices him, snatches him from the water and calls 911 while another instructor begins performing CPR.

A report from Maitland police said he was under water for more than two minutes.

In the video, Kretz and at least one other instructor got within feet of him but still did not notice he was under water until minutes later.

The video shows four instructors in the pool. So far, only Kretz has been arrested and charged.

Documents we obtained from Maitland police may shed light on why — they say Kretz knew ahead of the incident that the little boy could not swim, and that he was “the responsibility of Kretz” when the accident happened.

When WFTV asked Park Maitland School for comment on Kretz’ arrest, they said in part “the instructors are no longer in our employ, and to our knowledge, the child is thankfully well.”

But attorney Larry Gonzalez, who is representing the little boy’s family in a civil suit, said the boy is not well and his family is devastated.

“He has suffered significantly and is still suffering to this day, still seeking medical treatment with doctors due to the damage that occurred. They put their trust in Park Maitland that they were going to be teaching their kid to swim,” Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez did not specify how the boy was still suffering.

The boy’s family said the accident should have never happened.

Maitland is about 15 minutes north of Orlando.

5-Year-Old Girl Suffers Skull Fracture When Glass Bottle Thrown From SUV in Corona

News & Info

Investigators are seeking a person who threw a glass bottle from an SUV in Corona on Friday afternoon, striking a 5-year-old girl in the head and fracturing her skull and collarbone, authorities and family members said.

The seemingly random attack took place shortly before 2:40 p.m. along Lincoln Avenue, just south of Bayfield Drive, Corona Police Department officials said.

Karla Zosoyas was walking home from school with her brother and sister on a sidewalk when an SUV passed by heading south, according to police and the victim’s family. The bottle was thrown from within.

The little girl was bleeding from her head and nose, said witness Pedro Ruvalcaba, who was passing by and stopped to help.

The injured girl was being treated in an intensive care unit at a children’s hospital, family members said. Doctors were working Saturday to relieve pressure in her skull caused by a brain bleed.

“I just remember looking down and seeing my little sister on the ground,” sister Maria Zosoyas told KTLA.

“I feel really bad for her. She’s such a young age and she has to suffer through this, and she doesn’t really know what’s happening fully,” the sister said.

“For my family, everyone’s scared and angry, because whoever did this obviously was heartless. They didn’t care,” she said.

The SUV was a large, silver or gray SUV, described as possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe, police said in a written statement. It had collision damage on the front, driver-side corner and was fitted with dark six- or eight-spoke wheels.

After the attack, the SUV turned onto westbound Railroad Street, South and Smith Avenue and was last seen heading north on Sherman Avenue,

Anyone with information was urged to contact Corona police at 951-817-5837.

Texas Woman Accused of Lighting 5-Year-Old Stepdaughter’s Face on Fire as Punishment

News & Info

A Texas woman is accused of pouring alcohol on her 5-year-old stepdaughter’s face then setting it on fire.

Dalia Jimenez, 20, of Grand Prairie, faces a charge of felony injury to a child.

Jimenez initially told officers responding May 13 to reports of a child with burns that the girl was hurt while trying to light a candle, according to KTVT.

After investigators questioned her about several inconsistencies, Jimenez allegedly admitted to dousing the girl in rubbing alcohol and using a lighter to set fire to her face.

Jimenez told police she did it because the 5-year-old had been “yelling previously in the home,” KTVT reports.

The girl suffered burns on her cheeks down to her jawline, with smaller burns on her shoulders.

Grand Prairie Detective Greg Parker said during a press conference that Jimenez is believed to have left the girl’s injuries untreated for two days.

Child Protective Services has removed the victim and her younger sibling from the home. KDFW reports that the father was not home when the incident happened and is not expected to be charged.
