Uber Eats driver caught masturbating just after delivery

News & Info

An Uber Eats delivery driver was allegedly caught masturbating inside his car by the New Jersey woman to whom he’d just delivered an order, authorities said Wednesday.

Vinicius Porto, 31, had just handed off a bag of grub to a 23-year-old customer around 4:45 p.m. June 13 when the hungry client noticed the bag was unstapled, according to the Hackensack Police Department.

When the woman rushed over to Porto’s Ford Explorer to question him about the opened bag, she allegedly saw him touching himself in the front seat, cops said.

The grossed-out but quick-thinking woman whipped out her cellphone and shot an incriminating video of Porto before he sped off, police said.

Cops tracked down the Newark man and slapped him with a summons for lewdness.

ESPN is done giving airtime to LaVar Ball

News & Info

It appears the LaVar Ball show is coming to an end.

At least, for ESPN, that is.

The Ball patriarch won’t receive any more air time on any ESPN platform heading forward, according to The Athletic.

When asked if Ball would be used as an on-air guest, an on-the-record source, or will have any other use, an ESPN spokesperson said, “We have no plans moving forward.”

While his sons LaMelo and LiAngelo were playing overseas, then-ESPN reporter Jeff Goodman traveled to Lithuania to cover LaVar and the family. Nevertheless, LaVar abruptly cut off Goodman after he published a story containing comments LaVar made about then-Lakers coach Luke Walton. Goodman claimed all comments were made on the record.

Recently, LaVar created an awkward moment on ESPN’s “First Take.” Co-host Molly Qerim said she was “switching gears” to shift the discussion from LaMelo to Lonzo, to which Ball responded, “You can switch gears with me any day.”

“LaVar Ball’s comment to Molly Qerim Rose was completely inappropriate and we made him aware of that,” ESPN said in a statement.

Ball’s comment followed a track record of disrespecting female hosts. In 2017, he told Kristin Leahy to “stay in your lane” during a debate on FS1.

5-year-old boy accidentally fatally shoots himself

News & Info

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. (WTMJ) — Police are investigating a 5-year-old boy’s death on Milwaukee’s north side.

Just before 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to a home on 45th St. A family member who did not want to go on camera says the 5-year-old found a gun in the couch and accidentally shot himself.

He died before help could arrive.

Police Chaplain Malcolm Hunt says it was the boyfriend’s gun, and he had left it there.

“According to the mother, she was sleeping and all of a sudden she heard a pop. She called her son and he didn’t answer,” Hunt said. “So she got up and went into the living room and seen him laying on the couch. She turned him over there was blood. He shot himself in the head.”

An autopsy will be conducted Wednesday.

Mom of boy with autism angered by school’s ‘Most Likely to Get Lost in a Crowd’ award

News & Info

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – The mother of a Massachusetts middle school student with autism is speaking out after she says her son was called “Most Likely to Get Lost in a Crowd.”

Desiree Perez told WJAR the end-of-year award – a paper certificate apparently signed by several teachers, including her son Kelvin’s – felt “very wrong.”

“I found it disrespectful because she knows more than anybody that I struggle a lot with my son,” Perez said, adding that teachers shouldn’t label any child that way “because every kid struggles in school.”

Perez said she spoke with the principal and claims he asked her to “forgive this incident” since the teachers had already left for vacation and there wasn’t much he could do.

“This is a type of bullying by the teachers,” said Perez, who told WBSM Kelvin had been bullied by students on several occasions. “Now all of a sudden my son receives this award saying he’s always lost in a crowd, and that’s not right.”

New Bedford Public Schools said in a statement that an investigation is underway.

Man who admitted to sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl sentenced to probation

News & Info

GREENE COUNTY, Miss. – A Missouri man who admitted to sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl was given a sentence Friday of five years probation, according to the Springfield News-Leader.

Joseph Meili, 22, agreed to plead guilty to third-degree molestation as part of a plea deal reached in March. If he doesn’t violate the terms of the sentence, the conviction could be taken off his record, the paper reports.

Meili met the victim through the dating app MeetMe, according to court documents obtained by the Jefferson City News Tribune.

Police say the girl used her mother’s phone to give Meili her address in July of 2017, and Meili picked her up and drove her to his apartment in Springfield.

Investigators believe deputies and firefighters were searching for the girl near her home while Meili was sexually assaulting her. Meili dropped her off at her house where she was found that night, packing a bag to leave again, according to prosecutors.

The girl eventually told investigators she had fallen asleep at his apartment and, when she woke up, she thought something sexual had been done to her. The Springfield News-Leader reports that semen was found in her underwear and she later tested positive for chlamydia.

Meili’s attorney, Scott Pierson, argued in court that his client and been “essentially catfished” and felt terrible when he learned her true age.

Greene County Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Elizabeth Fax told Huffpost she doesn’t believe it’s possible he actually thought the girl was 18, saying, “To actually see her in person … he knew and just decided to go along with it.”

Michigan mother and her two daughters died after she drove their car into a river. Police believe it was intentional.

News & Info

A Michigan mother and her twin daughters died after she drove her car into the Kalamazoo River in what is suspected to be an intentional act, police said Tuesday.

The bodies of the 44-year-old woman and one of her 9-year-old daughters were found Monday evening after the car was found submerged in the river.

The other daughter’s body was recovered Tuesday morning with the assistance of the Michigan State Police Dive Team, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Chief Karianne Thomas said.

Authorities said they responded to a 911 call Monday evening after passers-by saw two girls crying on the side of the road. The passers-by called police.

The girls told officers that they had previously been inside the car with the woman and her twins, but were let out of the vehicle. They told officers that the woman had driven her car into the river.

A motive has not yet been determined

The two girls were reunited with an uncle. Both girls are related to the 44-year-old woman, but it’s not yet clear what their specific familial connection is, Thomas said.

“I’ve been here over 25 years. We’ve never had an incident like this,” Thomas told CNN.

Investigators believe the act was intentional.

“We do not believe this was an accident,” Thomas said, noting the river is not easily accessible in the area where the car was found submerged. “You have to purposefully drive your car into that area.”

A motive has not yet been determined and the investigation is ongoing. Police are withholding the names of the victims until they are positively identified and family members have been notified.

Planters Peanuts is rolling out a sneaker. The Crunch Force 1

News & Info

Mr. Peanut is hitting the basketball court ahead of the NBA draft this week.

Peanut brand Planters announcedon Tuesdaythe release of the Crunch Force 1, a basketball sneaker featuring everyone’s favorite legume-style icon meant to give wearers a “shella strong shoe game.”

It’s not a stunt:The nutty new kicks were produced by Philadelphia-based shoe manufacturer Rich Franklin, and they’reavailable for pre-order now until Friday for $170.

It’s an example of companies beyond the footwear and apparel industry getting in on the “sneaker hype” marketing opportunity that legacy brands like Nike’s Air Jordan and Adidas’ Yeezy have taken advantage of for years. Pizza Hut used a similar tactic ahead of March Madness two years ago.

Here’s how it works: A brand, often with the help of a celebrity or icon like Mr. Peanut, builds anticipation for a new sneaker. Thenthecompany releases only a limited number of the shoes, ideally spurringfans to line up outside of shoe stores or frantically hit refresh on the company’s website when it drops. Hours later, that sneaker — this one features Mr. Peanut’s signature grin and “Planters” splashed on the heel — maybe listed for hundreds of dollars more on shoe resale sites for buyers salty that they didn’t get a pair on the first go-around.

Although those hundreds of resale dollars don’t go to the sneaker companies themselves, they do generate valuable attention for a brand — all without shelling out for an ad campaign.

Man beheaded woman’s dog because she owed his mom rent money

News & Info

BUCKEYE, Ariz. (KTVK) — An Arizona man has been arrested after police say he beheaded his roommate’s dog over the weekend.

According to police, the incident occurred Saturday night in Buckeye.

The victim told officers that she was moving her belongings out of a home she shared with 21-year-old Jose Vega Meza. The victim said she had her dog with her but lost track of it for a while.

A few hours later, the woman and her friends, who were helping her move, noticed Vega Meza was trying to load a small box onto a truck without anyone seeing him. That’s when the victim confronted Vega Meza and asked him what was in the box.

According to police, Vega Meza reportedly just smiled at her. The victim then opened the box and found her dead dog inside. Police say the dog had been mutilated and was headless.

“The other day there was a girl walking out of that house, she was crying and screaming saying he did something,” said Victoria, who lives in the area. “She had like 4 or 5 people outside trying to calm her down and she couldn’t calm down.”

The victim told officers that she was so distraught and upset about the discovery that she waited until Sunday to contact them.

On Sunday afternoon, officers found Vega Meza walking in a Buckeye neighborhood took him into custody.

Vega Meza told officers that he knew why he was being arrested and admitted his involvement in the crime.

The suspect told officers that he wrapped the dog in a string and then cut it open with a razor blade.

Vega Meza added that he killed the dog because the victim owed his mother rent money. He later told officers that he knew what he did wasn’t right. The suspect also admitted to killing and torturing other animals in the neighborhood in the past, according to court documents.

“I had a cat, she was black and white, and she used to go around everywhere–you know, across the street, over there, over there–so it could’ve been her too. He could’ve taken her into his yard and killed her,” Victoria said. “We just had 2 cats come up missing like two days ago so that’s like really scary and my little brothers and sisters are probably wondering what happened to their cats and maybe that guy probably did something to my little brother and sister’s cat and that’s really horrible.”

Several neighbors say Vega-Meza and the other people who live in the home typically keep to themselves.

“Really none of the neighbors know them personally. We kind of keep our distance because they are a little noisy and cause trouble,” said Lisa, another neighbor.

“To think that there was someone who was living there, like right across the street from my house, it could’ve been my animals! That’s really, really scary,” said Victoria.

Vega Meza was later booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on two counts related to animal cruelty. The suspect was also charged with a count of misdemeanor assault after he attacked another prisoner.
