Teacher drove to school drunk, was 4 times over legal limit
A high school teacher in Michigan arrived at work drunk and epically failed a Breathalyzer, blowing more than four times the legal limit, police said.
The 44-year-old teacher showed up to work at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeland High School in White Lake Township, and administrators immediately suspected he was drunk. He admitted to heavily imbibing before driving to school, WXYZ reports.
A Breathalyzer test revealed the man’s blood-alcohol content was .354 percent, or more than four times the state’s legal limit of .08 percent.
The teacher was escorted off school grounds, according to a statement released by administrators.
“A shelter in place was called so that students did not witness the situation,” the statement read. “The staff member will not be on campus while this matter is pending.”
The teacher, from West Bloomfield, is expected to be arraigned Thursday on charges of operating while intoxicated and driving on a suspended license, WDIV reports. He also had a warrant out for his arrest on identical charges stemming from an October 2018 incident, the station reports.

88-year-old widow violently robbed of thousands she saved for late husband’s gravestone
EAST VILLAGE — Police are looking for a man accused of attacking and robbing a woman in her Manhattan apartment, stealing thousands she had saved up to buy a headstone for her late husband’s grave.
Just before noon Saturday, Maximina Osorio was arriving home at her Alphabet City apartment, near East 10th Street and Avenue D, when the unidentified man grabbed her from behind after she unlocked her door, police said. Police identified Osorio as being 89 years old, but she later told PIX she is 88.
Authorities said the man pushed Osorio through her doorway and to the ground before demanding to know, “Where’s the money?”
Osorio told PIX11 Thursday that the attacker told her to “shut up,” and not to scream, even grabbing her face and nearly choking her to stop her from making noise.
The frightened widow told the thief that her money was in a drawer in her bedroom, according to police.
The man proceeded to take $5,000 in cash from the woman’s bedroom before fleeing her apartment, officials said.
Osorio said she had been saving the money for two years and was planning to use it to buy a gravestone for her late husband Salvatore. The couple were married for 50 years until his death about a year ago.
Her husband’s death isn’t the only tragedy the resilient woman has known. Osorio told PIX11 she also had to bury a daughter in the past.
After the violent robbery, Osorio complained of neck and back pain, police said. EMS responded and she was taken to a local hospital.
Osorio said she spent three days in the hospital and is worried about a head injury.
While police have only released information about one man wanted in connection with the robbery, Osorio said he had an accomplice in the robbery, and that her attacker spoke both English and Spanish.
The NYPD has released the below surveillance images of one man they’re looking for. They describe him as standing about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with a full beard. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt, a blue t-shirt, white sneakers, a backpack, and a black and blue Philadelphia Flyers baseball cap, authorities said.
A local woman has launched a GoFundMe for Osario.

Church’s message to air conditioning thieves: ‘It’s hot where you’re going’
AKRON, Ohio — Someone stole the air conditioning unit from Akron Alliance Fellowship Church in Ohio about three weeks ago, according to Pastor Gus Brown.
It was a loss of $3,500 for the church that sits on Diagonal Road in Akron.
“It was a brand new unit that we had just put in. We hadn’t even made the first payment on it yet, it had only been in a few days,” Brown told WJW.
The church immediately called Akron police.
“They cut the wires nicely, they cut the tubing with a tubing cutter. They had to know what they were doing. It had to be at least two, because one person would not have been able to pick it up,” Brown said.
In the meantime, the church put up a new sign that reads: “Whoever stole our A C Unit: Keep it. It’s hot where you’re going.”
Brown said the meaning is clear.
“That you are wrong and staying on this path will only get you one place. And we don’t want you to go there. Our desire is to even see him at our church one day,” Brown said.
Bible studies and services will continue, despite this weekend’s heat.
The church plans to hold an offering plate this Sunday for the AC fund.

Image shows Ohio day care worker dangling 5-year-old girl upside down
An Ohio day care worker charged with child endangerment for not stepping in when a 5-year-old girl was assaulted can be seen in a police-released photo holding the little girl upside-down by her ankles.
The disturbing image was shared by the Columbus Police Department following the Sept. 10 arrest of Worthington Learning Center workers Joshua Tennant, 27, and Emma Dietrich, 31.
“While we are protecting the identity of the 5yo victim we want to share with you the severity of what [the] little girl endured in a learning center,” the department tweeted, along with the image.
“Actions by educators who are now facing criminal charges.”
Tennant and Dietrich were busted after the video emerged of the pair standing by as older students bullied and assaulted the “frightened” girl on Aug. 13, police said.
The two admitted they refused to stop the attack as a twisted form of discipline, according to court documents cited by WCMH.
“In the video, the older students are grabbing, pulling, dragging, swinging and just ‘bullying’ [the girl],” police said in an incident report.
“She appears frightened and keeps her eyes closed or covered and attempts to curl up into a fetal position.”
The girl then tried to get away from the older students, but she was held down. As the bullying continued, police said Dietrich and Tennant “continually” sat at a table nearby and took no steps to stop the onslaught.
Later in the footage, Tennant picked up the 5-year-old girl by her right ankle and left leg and carried her upside down, placing her back on a rug near her tormentors, police said.

Teen admits to serving teacher semen-tainted crepe in cooking class
An Ohio teen was sentenced to jail time after he admitted to serving a teacher a semen-tainted crepe as part of a sick joke during a cooking competition at his middle school, a report said this week.
The 15-year-old admitted to bringing in a bag of his semen and dumping it on the french dessert before serving it to his teacher at Olentangy Hyatts Middle School in May, local news station KUTV reported.
He was sentenced to 30 days in a detention center and ordered to complete community service, according to the report.
Seven other students — who were not publicly identified — are also accused of assault and other crimes for their roles in the disgusting prank.
One other student facing charges allegedly soaked barbecue sauce with his urine and served it to four unsuspecting teachers, according to CBS affiliate WBNS.
The sickening joke played out while the teachers were judging a cooking class as part of the “Global Gourmet” course at the school.
Video obtained by WBNS shows one of the students dump a liquid from a plastic bag onto a crepe before presenting it to the panel of teachers.
The video then shows a teacher eating it and quizzing the student about its ingredients.
“Is this made with goat milk or cow’s milk?” the teacher asks the student, according to the video
“Uhh, cow’s milk,” the teen responds.
“Is it fresh-squeezed cow’s milk?” another teacher asks, before another teacher interrupts to say: “I’m not even gonna lie, it tastes really good.”

Masseur allegedly sodomized woman left ‘paralyzed by fear’
Missouri masseur repeatedly sodomized a woman who was “paralyzed by fear” during a 90-minute session from hell, the frightened victim told police.
The 45-year-old woman told cops she was sexually assaulted multiple times by a masseur on Friday at Oasis Foot Spa & Massage in St. Peters, where she was alone inside a closed-door massage room with Xing Wu Zhang, 61, according to court documents obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The woman told cops on Saturday that she considered leaving the room, but was worried what might happen if she decided to do so because she was at the location by herself, court documents show.
“But she told me she was ‘paralyzed by fear,’” St. Peters police Detective Erin O’Neal wrote in the documents.
Zhang, of O’Fallon, was charged with two counts of second-degree sodomy. The Chinese national allegedly sexually assaulted the woman using his fingers and mouth, penetrating her several times, KSDK reports.
Zhang also put his mouth on the woman’s breasts and genitals — and used a wet towel to clean the areas afterward in a possible attempt to clean up any DNA he left behind, the woman told police.
Zhang, who denied the accusations through an interpreter, claimed the woman had exposed herself during the session but he chose to ignore it, KSDK reports.
Zhang also told cops he was supposed to board a flight for China at 4 p.m. Saturday, prompting a judge to order that he hand over his passport. He was being held at the St. Charles County Jail on $50,000 cash-only bond, the Post-Dispatch reports.
If convicted of second-degree sodomy, Zhang faces up to four years in prison.
A woman who answered the phone at the business told The Post that Zhang had been hired in February before declining further comment.
Zhang’s employer, meanwhile, has said a surveillance video taken minutes after the alleged assault shows the woman calm and in no apparent distress as she checked out. The woman even thanked staff and said she’d be back for another rubdown, the boss claimed. Prosecutors now plan on verifying that footage, KTVI reports.

Toddler, 2, dies after closing car’s power window on her head as her dad slept in front seat
DETROIT (WXYZ) — Relatives of Kierre Allen are devastated after the two-year-old girl died tragically Monday afternoon with her dad just a few feet away from her.
It happened in front of the family’s home on Winthrop near Grand River Avenue on Detroit’s west side.
Little Kierre was in a 2005 Mazda 3 with her dad. They were parked in the driveway, and relatives said her dad fell asleep and when he woke up, he found his daughter’s lifeless body.
Relatives said it appears the power window was activated as Kierre was partially out of it when it closed. Detroit Police said the toddler’s head was stuck in the car’s window.
Relatives were alerted when the little girl’s father began to cry out for help.
They told TV station WXYZ that Allen’s father yelled, “My baby, my baby,” when he discovered her stuck in the window.
Kierre’s uncle rushed her and her dad to Sinai Grace Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Detroit Police are investigating and took Kierre’s father into custody on unrelated warrants. The girl’s death remains under investigation.

Mother arrested in daughter’s death rubbed heroin on 1-year-old’s gums to ‘help her sleep,’ father said
BANGOR, Maine – A 33-year-old Maine woman arrested Tuesday in the death of her 1-year-old daughter is accused of rubbing heroin residue on the girl’s gums to help her sleep, court documents say.
Kimberly Nelligan, of Bangor, appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to charges of child endangerment and drug possession, the Bangor Daily News reports.
Her daughter Jordynn was found unresponsive at home in October, 2018 and was pronounced dead at an area hospital, WCSH reports. The Maine medical examiner later determined that she died of acute intoxication from the powerful, synthetic opioid fentanyl.
The Bangor Daily News reports that the child’s father told police he saw Nelligan apply the residue to the little girl’s gums more than a dozen times when she had trouble falling asleep. She allegedly told him that she would never hurt the girl on purpose, and that she had done the same thing with their two older children when they were younger.
The medical examiner’s office concluded that Jordynn directly ingested the fentanyl that killed her, the paper reports.
Nelligan is currently being held without bail at the Penobscot County Jail. She is due back in court Nov. 12.

Woman accused of sending video of her trying to drown 6-year-old son in bathtub to child’s father
CLEVELAND (WEWS) — A 25-year-old Cleveland woman accused of sending video of her attempting to drown her 6-year-old son in a bathtub to the child’s father in August was indicted on charges including two counts of attempted murder and multiple counts of endangering children, kidnapping and assault.
Dazshea Watkins was arrested on Sept. 4 and indicted on Friday, Sept. 13. Bond was set at $10,000, and she posted bail on Sept. 12, according to court records.
Watkins tried to drown her son in a bathtub on or about Aug 28, her indictment states.
Cleveland police investigated the incident after the child’s aunt saw the video of the attempting drowning on the father’s phone, according to the police report. On August 28, the father received the video, which showed Watkins holding the child by the neck under the water in the bathtub, with the child kicking and splashing water in an attempt to get away from mother. The video ended before it showed Watkins releasing the child.
After the father saw the video, he went to the house and found his son to be safe and took custody of him, the report states. The child’s aunt told the father to report the incident, but the father said he did not want Watkins to go jail. When he did not file a report, the aunt filed one on his behalf. The aunt told Watkins to send her the video of the attempted drowning because the father said his phone accidentally reset and his copy of the video was lost.
The aunt told police she spoke to Watkins on the phone, and Watkins said she was pregnant, frustrated and felt alone, which is why she did what she did, the report states.
The indictment states that Watkins also beat the child, hit him in the head with a broom and caused physical harm to him with a pillow.
In total, Watkins faces 32 charges: two counts of attempted murder, six counts of felonious assault, 15 counts of endangering children, four counts of kidnapping, four counts of domestic violence and one count of pandering obscenity involving a minor.
The Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services confirmed they took emergency custody of the child from Watkins. They have a court case Tuesday to get temporary custody of the child. Although DCFS has custody of the child, he is in the care of family members.
DCFS said they have made contact with Watkins twice in the past, but both those cases were closed. They have re-opened a case with her after her indictment for attempting to drown her son.

‘They Videoed His Death’: After a Brawl, Teenagers Gawked as a Boy Lay Dying
A wild after-school brawl erupted Monday outside a Long Island strip mall, and when it was over, a 16-year-old student was gravely wounded with a stab wound to his chest.
But most of the 50 or so teenagers in Oceanside, New York, who either took part in the fight or witnessed it made no attempt to defend him. In fact, some stood by recording the fight and his suffering on their cellphones, the police said.
The victim, Khaseen Morris, died at the hospital.
“Kids stood there and didn’t help Khaseen,” Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick of the Nassau County Police Department said in a news conference Tuesday. “They videoed his death instead of helping him.”
The fracas started at about 3:30 p.m. Monday and was precipitated by a dispute over a girl, and whom she was dating, according to the detective.
The teenagers were all from around the neighborhood, he said, and had gathered at the strip mall on Brower Avenue, a popular hangout where the confrontation was supposed to occur. Khaseen was aware of the dispute, and that other boys were coming to the strip mall, Fitzpatrick said.
Witnesses at the mall said a car drove up, then a group of boys emerged and rushed Khaseen and his friends. Video footage shows Khaseen collapsing to the ground, as teenagers around him film his fall but do not come to his aid, the police said.
The police arrived at about 4 p.m., after a 911 call. Khaseen was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died of his wounds overnight, according to information provided by the police. One other boy suffered a fractured arm, and others had minor injuries. The girl was not present at the fight, Fitzpatrick said.
On social media, Khaseen, whom friends called “Kha,” is seen in photos posing with friends, smiling, pulling faces, his short cropped dreadlocks worn in a rakish style, one half of his head dyed a rusty red color. He described himself as a devotee of cheese, anime and love.
“Speak the truth even if your voice shakes,” Khaseen wrote.
His family moved to Oceanside this summer from Freeport, a neighboring town on the South Shore of Long Island. There, Khaseen saw the promise of a fresh start at a school where he could fully express himself through fashion and art, said his sister, Kedeemah Morris, 22.
He was a free-spirited skateboarder who wore his dreadlocks colorfully: half orange, half black, Kedeemah Morris said Tuesday, adding that he loved to draw and that he had planned to study photography.
The siblings got the same tattoo, she said, in memory of their favorite musicians, Lil Peep and XXXTentacion, both of whom sported bicolored hair. Kedeemah Morris said she and her brother were so similar that she called him her “twin” despite their six-year age difference.
“He danced, he was very funny,” she said. “He was very sweet.”
On Sunday, she said, a 10th-grade girl asked her brother to walk her home and he obliged. Kedeemah Morris said she believed that the girl had been trying to make her ex-boyfriend jealous.
It appears to have worked.
Before Khaseen left for school Monday, he told his family that he had received a threat from the girl’s ex-boyfriend, Kedeemah Morris said.
“My brother, he shrugged stuff like that off,” she said. “He told the boy he didn’t want his girlfriend, it was nothing like that, he just walked her home. The boy said he didn’t care.”
Kedeemah Morris said she thought that Khaseen’s walking the girl home had prompted the fight. “Him being so nice, that one good deed that he did got him killed,” she said.
The high school Tuesday had grief counselors at the ready to help students cope with the loss.
“This is a terrible loss for Khaseen’s family and friends and a traumatic event for our whole community,” Phyllis S. Harrington, the superintendent of the Oceanside Union Free School District, said in a statement. “The way we are going to get through this is by pulling together.”
The police have identified at least seven boys involved in the fray via the videos circulating online, and are working to determine the identities of several more, Fitzpatrick said. No arrests had been made, and the attack was not linked to any gang activity, the detective added.
He urged witnesses to tell the police what they had seen. “When I have you in handcuffs is not the time” to come forward, he said.
“I don’t know what to make of it, my generation versus this generation,” he continued. “This can’t go on. Your friends are dying while you stand there and video it? That’s egregious.”
