Nickelodeon Is Reviving ‘All That’ With Kenan Thompson as Executive Producer
Article via Variety
“All That” was the show that kept on giving to Nickelodeon over the course of a decade in the 1990s and 2000s. Now the company’s president thinks a revival of the sketch-comedy series could be all that — and more.
Nickelodeon will revive the program — a “Saturday Night Live” for the tween set — with an all-new cast. But the show will have callbacks to its past as well. Kenan Thompson, the long-running “SNL” cast member who got his start on television when “All That” launched in 1994, will serve as an executive producer. Nickelodeon expects some former cast members to make appearances in the series.
The sketch comedy show “stayed in the zeitgeist for many years,” Brian Robbins, president of Nickelodeon, tells Variety. “People are really fond of it.” One regular sketch, “Good Burger,” was set in a fast-food restaurant with a clueless cashier, and served up the premise for an original movie in 1997. Kids also loved recurring characters like “Walter the Earboy,” “The Spice Boys,” and “Baggin’ Saggin’ Barry.”
Thompson is one of the people who remembers the series fondly. “It means everything to me,” he told Variety. “It was my first job that I ever had. It gave me an opportunity.”
Robbins was a co-creator and an executive producer of the original run of the series, which during its time featured Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon and Jamie Spears, among others. Many of the cast members went on to star in other landmark Nickelodeon series, such as “The Amanda Show,” “Kenan and Kel” and “Drake and Josh.” Thompson said many of the show’s stars remain close more than a decade after “All That” went off the air.
An “All That” revival would continue Nickelodeon’s recent efforts to dig into its past to help secure its future. In recent years, Nickelodeon executives have tested new editions of one-time stalwarts like “Hey Arnold” and “Legends of the Hidden Temple,” sometimes as movie specials. Such programs can spur viewing by both parents and children, as one generation tries to interest another in favorite pieces of popular culture.
“We think there’s a great opportunity to find the next pool of stars,” said Robbins. “We want to bring the show back in a real fun way. This summer, we are going to bring back a lot of the original cast and the cast through the years, and let them introduce the new cast of ‘All That’ to the world.” He suggested the program would be “a sort of mash-up of some of the old sketches and a lot of new sketches.”

C Tha God calls on his fans for their honest opinions.
We are currently in a climate where people are feeling more comfortable with expressing how they have undergone certain procedures to enhance their receding hairlines. Kudos to such acts like Tory Lanez and Tyga who have been so open about their cosmetic touchups. “At the end of the day … I don’t know about Soulja or Tyga …. but my HAIRLINE most def made the BIGGEST come back of 2018 . And that’s factual,” Tory previously tweeted.
For acts such as Jamie Foxx – who has yet to publically announce his truth – just know there are people who get it.
The latest to speak publically about their hairline is none other than Charlamagne Tha God, who has taken to Instagram to ask his follower’s opinion on just which route he should take. “Some of y’all thinking about getting a new car for the summer I’m thinking about getting a new hairline. Fox News Refuses to Run Ad About Dangers of Nazism As It’s ‘Not Appropriate’ for Hannity’s Audience
Article via Newsweek
Fox News refused to broadcast an advert for the documentary A Night at The Garden, which warns of the threat of Nazism in the U.S., as it was “inappropriate” for their audience. That’s according to reports.
The 30-second spot to promote the Oscar-nominated short film was originally purchased by the film’s distributor Field of Vision, through the Charter Communication’s Spectrum service, to air in the Los Angeles area, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The clip shows archive footage of an American Nazi rally that took place at New York’s Madison Square Garden in 1939 shortly before the start of World War II. It ends with the tagline: “It can happen here.”
The broadcast spot also shows the moment 26-year-old Jewish man Isadore Greenbaum stormed the stage in front of the 20,000 German-American Bund supporters to interrupt a speech by the group’s leader, Fritz Kuhn. Greenbaum is then beaten to the ground and dragged off stage.
The trailer did not run in the end because the network decided to air breaking news coverage of President Donald Trump’s rally in El Paso, Texas, instead.
Field of Vision then purchased a national spot for the advert to be played during Sean Hannity’s show on February 11.
In an email seen by THR, a Fox News national ad sales spokesperson told the distributor’s media-buying agency that Fox News’s CEO Suzanne Scott deemed the ad “not appropriate for our air.”
In a further statement to The Week, Marianne Gambelli, president for ad sales at Fox News, said the advert was rejected because it contains “disgraceful Nazi imagery regardless of the film’s message and did not meet our guidelines.”
Marshall Curry, director of A Night At The Garden, said he is shocked that Fox News would intervene and prevent the ad from showing.
“The film shines a light on a time when thousands of Americans fell under the spell of a demagogue who attacked the press and scapegoated minorities using the symbols of American patriotism,” Curry told THR.
“It’s amazing to me that the CEO of Fox News would personally inject herself into a small ad buy just to make sure that Hannity viewers weren’t exposed to this chapter of American history,” he added.
The ad will still air locally in Los Angeles during Hannity on February 14 after the original ad was scrapped. The film’s distributor is still hoping to air the ad national on other cable networks, THR reports.

Infowars host Alex Jones to be deposed in defamation suit brought by Sandy Hook parents
Discussions on Jones’ web show have called the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre a hoax, and lawsuits by families of eight victims and a first responder say they’ve been subjected to harassment and death threats from Jones’ followers.
The superior court judge also ruled Wednesday that the families can depose several other defendants in the case, including those critical to Infowars’ business operations.
Jones has defended the discussions on his show. He has cited First Amendment rights and says he believes the shooting happened.
Women ‘are forced to have sex in return for Ebola jabs’ in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as death toll from latest outbreak passes 500

- Latest Ebola outbreak in Democratic Republic of the Congo has killed over 500
- Officials said a vaccination programme has prevented thousands more deaths
- There are claims that some individuals have been demanding sexual favours in return for treatment for the deadly disease
Women are being forced to have sex in return for Ebola vaccinations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, it has been claimed.
Fears of exploitation by frontline workers in the fight against the deadly disease were also highlighted as the death toll from the latest outbreak in the country passed 500.
The claims surfaced just days after the DRC’s health minister said a vaccination programme has prevented thousands more deaths.
According to The Guardian, studies have revealed concerns by ‘multiple respondents’ that some people are asking for sexual favours in return for Ebola treatments – including vaccinations.
The matter was raised as officials gathered for a national taskforce meeting in the city of Beni.
They were told how research by NGOs had found there was widespread mistrust in health workers in DRC.
On Saturday, officials revealed that more than 500 people had died from the latest outbreak of Ebola in the country, but a vaccination programme had prevented thousands more deaths.
‘In total, there have been 502 deaths and 271 people cured,’ said a health ministry bulletin, reporting on the outbreak in the east of the country.

Another ‘Black-ish’ Spin-Off Could Be Coming To TV
Article via Essence
Get ready Black-ish fans. It looks like we’re going to go deeper into the world of one of its most popular characters on the show, Rainbow Johnson.
According to Deadline, ABC is thinking about producing a Black-ish prequel, which would focus on Rainbow’s (currently played by Tracee Ellis Ross) life. An upcoming episode will give fans a peek at Bow’s early life in the 1980s/1990s, and it could serve as a backdoor pilot to the new series.
ABC
So far, Black-ish has already spawned one spin-off: the popular Freeform comedy, Grown-ish. The show, which follows Zoey Johnson (Yara Shahidi) as she navigates her way through the ups and downs of college life, is a hit with fans, and was just renewed for a third season.
If a Black-ish prequel happens at ABC, Deadline speculates the show’s creator, Kenya Barris would likely be an executive producer, but he wouldn’t be involved in daily operations.
Last year, Barris left ABC to move over to Netflix where he’s been tapped to create even more “unapologetic” narratives.
