TSA Agent Fired, Arrested After Allegedly Tricking Traveler Into Baring Breasts During Security Screening
A federal Transportation Security Administration agent tricked a traveler into twice showing him her breasts as she went through security at one of the world’s busiest airports, California’s attorney said.
Attorney General Xavier Becerra said Johnathon Lomeli, 22, was working at Los Angeles International Airport in June when he used fraud or deceit to falsely imprison the woman. Lomeli was arrested early Thursday at his home.
He first said he had to look inside her bra to make sure she wasn’t hiding anything, then had her hold her pants away from her waist so he could look inside, she told investigators. He subsequently took her to what he said would be a private room for more security screening, according to an arrest affidavit. But once they were alone on an elevator, she said he told her he could do the screening right there.
The woman said Lomeli told her he had to make sure she still had nothing in her bra, requiring her to lift her shirt “to show me your full breasts.” He also again looked down her pants, she said, before telling her she was free to go and adding that she had nice breasts.
He was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and was expected to make an initial appearance Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Officials with the union representing TSA employees, the American Federation of Government Employees, did not respond to requests for comment, and officials could not say if Lomeli has an attorney.
“There is no excuse for this kind of alleged behavior,” Becerra said in a statement.
The TSA initially brought the case to the FBI and Lomeli was let go from his airport job months ago, said FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller. She said the initial complaint involved “improperly screening at least one woman in a private area of the airport.”
The TSA in a statement called the alleged behavior “unacceptable and an affront to the hardworking and committed members of our workforce.”

Men Are Experiencing Days of Weird Vision After Taking Erectile Disfunction Drugs
Doctors are finding yet more men with strange episodes of vision problems after taking the erectile dysfunction drug sildenafil citrate, better known by the brand name Viagra. A new case study this week from Turkey details 17 men who took sildenafil and developed light sensitivity, blurred eyesight, and even blue-tinted vision—symptoms that were thankfully only temporary and likely very rare.
The report, published Friday in Frontiers in Neurology, is a review of the cases of 17 men who had visited a specialty eye clinic at the Dünyagöz Adana hospital in Turkey. The men, who visited between August 2017 and March 2019, had all taken sildenafil for the first time. Almost immediately, they experienced various visual disturbances and other symptoms that lasted up to one or two days before they sought care at the clinic.
The list of symptoms ranged from headaches and heartburn to blurry vision and cyanopsia, otherwise known as seeing the world in blue. Those with blue-o-vision also had red-green colorblindness, such that anything red or green just looked brownish. Half of them had light sensitivity, with one case characterized as “very severe.”
Sildenafil is known to sometimes cause vision problems, including blue-tinted vision, but the symptoms usually last only a few hours, not days. Still, the doctors advised the patients that their eye ills would most likely go away without any intervention. And sure enough, by the time of a followup visit three weeks later, all the patients had recovered fully.
This isn’t the first time that people taking sildenafil have been reported to have startling eye problems. A 2018 case study from New York last year, for instance, detailed a man who took a lot of sildenafil and ended up with permanently red-tinted vision. The new report also references another case of a man taking sildenafil and other related drugs to prepare for the removal of his prostate, who also experienced temporary colorblindness.
Still, these incidents seem to be incredibly rare, and there are probably some extenuating circumstances. For one, the patients in the report had all taken the maximum recommended dose of sildenafil. In the New York man’s case, he likely took much more than recommended, having chugged down a liquid version bought online. Like the New York case, the 17 men in the new report all took the drug without a prescription.
We also know that sildenafil and other similar drugs work by affecting blood circulation, which accounts for the visual side effects they can sometimes cause. But in these men, their genetics might make them worse at breaking down sildenafil, leaving it in their system for longer than is safe; they might also have mutations that make their eyes more vulnerable to the particular way sildenafil affects the body, the doctors say.
“Although these drugs, when used under the
control of physicians and at the recommended doses, provide very
important sexual and mental support, uncontrolled and inappropriate
doses should not be used or repeated,” said study author and eye doctor
Cüneyt Karaarslan in a statement released by the journal’s publishers.
So while these cases might be scary, there’s probably no need to worry for anyone who’s already been taking sildenafil without any trouble. At the very least, though, you might want to avoid gulping down a large dose of any erectile dysfunction drug, especially without a doctor’s supervision.

Judge: Kesha falsely accused Dr. Luke of raping Katy Perry
Pop singer Kesha made a false claim that Dr. Luke raped Katy Perry when there’s “no evidence whatsoever” that he did, a judge ruled this week while sending a long-running clash between Kesha and her former mentor toward trial.
Kesha’s lawyers said in a statement that they plan to appeal Thursday’s ruling, which also says she owes the prominent producer over $373,000 in interest on royalties she paid him years late.
The decision isn’t the final word in Dr. Luke’s wider-ranging defamation and breach-of-contract suit against Kesha, but his lawyer said the ruling “brings him closer to the justice that he seeks.”
“Dr. Luke looks forward to the trial of his case, where he will prove that Kesha’s other false statements about him were equally false and defamatory,” said the attorney, Christine Lepera.
Kesha, known for such hits as “TiK ToK” and “Praying,” and Dr. Luke have been locked in court battles since 2014, when she filed a lawsuit alleging that he drugged and raped her in 2005 and emotionally abused her for years.
He denied it and sued her, saying she was smearing him with fabrications to try to get out of her record deal.
A New York court later dismissed Kesha’s sexual abuse-related claims because of time limits and other legal issues, without ruling on whether the allegations had merit.
Meanwhile, Kesha claimed — in a 2016 text message to Lady Gaga — that “Firework” singer Katy Perry “was raped by the same man.”
Dr. Luke, born Lukasz Gottwald, denies it, and Perry said it was “absolutely not” true during sworn questioning in 2017.
“There is no evidence whatsoever that Gottwald raped Katy Perry,” Manhattan judge Jennifer Schecter wrote in Thursday’s decision, calling Kesha’s remark a false statement that meets legal standards for being defamatory.
The finding is helpful to Dr. Luke. But the judge noted that many aspects of the suit remain to be decided, including the question of whether Kesha’s allegation of her own rape is true.
“Kesha and Gottwald have very different accounts of what happened on the night at issue. This court cannot decide, as a matter of law on papers and without any assessment of credibility, who should be believed,” the judge wrote. “That is a decision for the jury.”
The singer, born Kesha Rose Sebert, released her latest album, “High Road,” last week. Her emotional performance of “Praying” at the 2018 Grammy Awards marked a memorable moment as the ceremony gave voice to the #MeToo movement against sexual assault.
Dr. Luke has produced some of the biggest pop hits of the 2000s, working with stars including Perry, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson and Nicki Minaj.
The Associated Press does not generally name people who report being sexually assaulted unless they come forward publicly, as Kesha has done.

Coronavirus hate attack: Woman in face mask allegedly assaulted by man who calls her ‘diseased’
The New York City Police Department’s task force on hate crimes is seeking the public’s help in identifying the man seen in a video apparently punching and kicking the woman.
A woman wearing a face mask was allegedly assaulted and called “diseased” in an incident in a New York City subway that was apparently sparked by bias over the coronavirus.
The New York City Police Department’s hate crimes unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying the man who appears to be kicking and punching the woman in a video posted on Twitter.
“The NYPD and the Hate Crimes Task Force encourage the victim to report this incident to the police for a full investigation,” the task force said in its retweet of a post with the video, captioned, “Chinese woman gets attacked for wearing a mask in nyc.”
The woman, wearing a parka and a yellow mask or scarf covering her mouth, appears to be trying to leave the station when the man physically attacks her.
“Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. yo, yo calm down!” a voice can be heard saying as the man punches and kicks the woman.
Another Twitter user, with the handle @x_ginko, responded to the original tweet by @TonyySays, claiming to have seen the incident.
“She was telling people to move to the right and letting them know she was there. I walked away from her because I wasn’t bothered by it,” @x-ginko wrote.
“When I exited the turnstiles, I saw that a man was talking to her. At [this] point, I was still wearing my headphones, so I couldn’t hear what he was saying. However, when I took off my headphones, I clearly heard the words ‘diseased b—-.’ I also heard her asking him to go away.”
An NYPD spokesman told NBC News on Wednesday that it’s not clear exactly when or where the attack happened.
NBC News could not immediately reach either one of the two Twitter users Wednesday regarding their accounts of the incident.
Marian Guerra, deputy chief of staff for City Councilwoman Margaret Chin, whose district includes the Chinatown neighborhood, said her office learned of the attack Monday night and believe it happened at the Grand Street station in Chinatown.
Guerra said some of their constituents fear they are being unfairly viewed as carriers of the virus, although the outbreak’s epicenter is on the other side of the globe in Wuhan, China. No one in New York City has yet tested positive for the virus.
“We’ve seen a lot of anxieties from folks in the community,” Guerra said, referring to Chinatown residents.
The MTA said it alerted police Monday when the footage first showed up on social media.
“The MTA has no tolerance for bias or hate-based attacks,” according to an MTA statement. “We recently launched an anti-hate campaign to encourage victims and witnesses to report these crimes, and to encourage tolerance that should minimize such unacceptable conduct in the first place.”

Canadian businessman gets 30 days in jail after claiming he set $1 million on fire to keep it from his ex-wife
A Canadian businessman with cash to burn would rather set his money on fire than hand over a single cent to his ex-wife.
Bruce McConville, who has long been mired in divorce proceedings, remained behind bars in Ottawa on Wednesday. He’s serving a 30-day sentence handed to him by an incredulous judge, who has refused to believe the extreme measures McConville has taken to prevent his ex-wife from getting her hands on his assets, according to the Ottawa Citizen.
During an appearance in Ottawa Superior Court, the 55-year-old father told officials he withdrew $1 million from his account over a series of 25 different ATM transactions — only to set it all aflame.
He claimed that he burned $743,000 in a bonfire on Sept. 23 and another $296,000 on Dec. 15.
“It’s not something I would normally do,” he said. “I am not a person that is extremely materialistic. A little goes a long way. I have always been frugal. That’s why my business lasted for 31 years.”
McConville, who has repeatedly defied court orders to file an affidavit regarding his finances, is also accused of selling properties to a former accountant despite a court order forbidding him from liquidating any assets. His behavior has cast a cloud of mystery over his finances, making it difficult to determine how much he should be paying in child and spousal support.
According to the Citizen, McConville is not currently paying either.
He also stands accused of failing to pay the court $300,000 as a security deposit.
Superior Court Justice Kevin Phillips slammed McConville’s tale and questioned its truthfulness in court last month.
“How does destroying over a million dollars advance your child’s best interest?” Phillips pressed.
The judge in the end, could not bring himself to believe that McConville would light up his funds, saying it is “crystal clear” that he “has very clearly and deliberately set out to thwart the court and the proper administration of justice.”
Phillips on Jan. 28 sentenced McConville, who also launched a failed mayoral bid in 2018, to a month behind bars and encouraged him to reconsider his story. He additionally warned the businessman that his current stay in jail would seem like “a walk in the park” compared to the “penal consequences” he will be facing if does not tell the truth in future court filings.
Phillips also imposed a daily $2,000 fine to be paid by McConville to his ex-wife.

A kayaker vanished last month in the Florida Everglades. Days later, his phone washed ashore with clues
A Virginia kayaker who vanished during a solo trip in the Florida Everglades has been found after his cell phone washed ashore and authorities used it to recover data on his location.
Mark Miele, 67, was last seen on January 22 when he left for his kayaking trip, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.
He was supposed to return seven days later, but his family did not hear from him. On Sunday, park rangers found his belongings, including his wallet and phone, on the bank of the Lopez River near the Monroe County line, authorities said.
“By downloading the data on Mark’s phone Sunday night, deputies found his most recent coordinates logged on January 31 and our aviation unit began a targeted search of the area,” the sheriff’s office said.Shortly before noon Monday, the aviation unit located him and provided his location to a Marine Unit along with officers from the National Park Service. He was found a few miles from where his phone had washed up wearing a life jacket and floating faceup in the river. Rescuers in boats rushed to the area and plucked him from the murky waters. “First concern when we found him it didn’t look like he was moving and we didn’t know if it was going to be a recovery or a rescue,” Cpl. Ed Henderson, who helped find him, told CNN affiliate WINK News. “He’d been in the water for two solid days and it’s been really cold.”
Miele was dehydrated and hypothermic, and was convulsing when he was found, authorities said. He is hospitalized in stable condition, and his family thanked local and state authorities for rescuing him.
“It’s a miracle he’s alive and in the condition he is in,” his family said in a statement. No more information was immediately available.

How Did Lysol ‘Know’ About the Coronavirus Before it Happened?
Hundreds of Americans evacuated from China as coronavirus infections increase+ MORE secret videos
The coronavirus that’s been making headlines was not known to science before late 2019. And yet, people are posting photos of old bottles of Lysol and Clorox wipes that claim their contents can kill coronavirus. What gives?
This isn’t evidence of a conspiracy. It’s just confusion about a name. This coronavirus is new, but there have been plenty of coronaviruses before it, both human and animal. For example, here is a paper from 1970 describing three different strains of human coronavirus. Heck, the photo we ran with yesterday’s coronavirus article was taken in 2008.
You have heard of coronaviruses before, even if you don’t recognize the name. SARS, the respiratory virus that caused an international outbreak in 2003, was a coronavirus. MERS, another respiratory virus first identified in 2012, is a coronavirus too.
You may have also had a coronavirus. Of common colds, about a third are caused by rhinoviruses. Other culprits include respiratory syncytial virus, adenovirus, and … yep. Coronaviruses. “Most people get infected with these viruses at some point in their lives,” the CDC says on their coronavirus page, and they list four of the strains known to cause colds.
Lysol tested its product against viruses “similar to” 2019-nCoV, their website says. Factcheck.org states that it was tested specifically against the 229E strain, one of the ones that cause the common cold.

Wendy Williams Slams Justin Bieber’s Drug Addiction Battle: ‘Why Should I Care?’
Wendy Williams has a lot of opinions. The daytime talk show host speaks her mind on every one of her shows, even if it means she creates a bit of controversy.
On her February 5 show, Williams discussed Justin Bieber opening up about his past drug addiction. And she blatantly said she doesn’t care about what he went through. Here’s what she had to say.
Williams’ opinions are often controversial
The best part of Williams’ show, albeit the most controversial part, is that she never hides how she feels. The Wendy Williams Show host has been doing this since her first episode premiered back in 2008, and her opinions and humor have been a big part of why she’s retained such a large fan base.
Williams has landed in hot water with some people though, since her comments can sometimes be pretty harsh. She once called Lori Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade, “stupid” and “entitled,” and most recently called out Rob Kardashian for dating Love & Hip Hop star Tommie Lee. Lee then bashed Williams on social media. But it hasn’t stopped Williams from remaining true to who she is.
Williams recently said she doesn’t care about Justin Bieber’s drug problems
In typical Williams fashion, she recently spoke her mind about Justin Bieber opening up about his past drug addiction. Bieber recently debuted a documentary series about his life and everything he’s been through, and in it, he detailed his past drug problem that he hid from the world. He said he would start every morning by “popping pills” and “smoking a blunt.” He found himself in a very dark place and said he turned to God to help him.
Williams showed the clip on her show, and before getting into the discussion she said, “I don’t care,” that Bieber dealt with a drug problem. “Why should I care?” she reiterated. “I saw who he was hanging out with.”
Justin Bieber once tore up her green room while on her show
Williams doesn’t have the fondest memories of Bieber. He once appeared on her show when he was 13, and, per Williams’ account, he was completely out of line. “He tore up my green room … Was nasty to everyone around here,” Williams said. “It was Scooter and his father who made him go upstairs and straighten up that green room. … So they had a piece of a handle on him,” she added.
Williams then said that Bieber’s dad “fell in love with the limelight” and wasn’t as much of a dad as he should have been in the situation.
Williams has struggled with drug addiction herself
With drugs becoming such a problem in our society, it seems insensitive that Williams would blatantly say she doesn’t care about Bieber’s struggles with addiction. It’s also surprising, considering Williams opened up about her own struggles with addiction early last year. Williams admitted to fans that she had dealt with a bad cocaine addiction through the years and was living in a sober house at the time.
Many celebrities fall victim to drugs, and it could partially be because of the pressure to succeed and maintain a good image. It’s nice to know that both Williams and Bieber were able to overcome their addictions, when, unfortunately, others aren’t so lucky.

Sex Dolls Experience raises eyebrows in Las Vegas neighborhood
Neighbors and county officials are concerned about the existence of an alleged sex doll brothel and sex club operating in a central Las Vegas neighborhood.
According to its website, Las Vegas Sex Dolls Experience offers customers the chance to spend time “interacting” with sex dolls in a private room at an undisclosed hourly rate.
Sex Dolls Experience does not appear to be licensed in Clark County and operates out of a “fluid gender social lifestyle club” called The Studios at 5150 S. Pecos Road, near Tropicana Avenue.
Cyndi Robbins lives in a home just down the block from The Studios. She said she’s heard rumors that the building is a sex club and is concerned about living near the property.
“I think it’s sick and it’s wrong that it should be anywhere near a residential area,” Robbins said. “We’ve got apartments and houses on the other side of the road on the other side of Pecos, and we’ve got houses over here with children. It shouldn’t be allowed, and I didn’t think by law it was.”
A spokesman for the county said The Studios is under investigation by Clark County code enforcement on suspicion of operating a business without a license.
County records show that The Studios was licensed in 2016 to operate as an educational institution under the name Fluid Lifestyles Learning Center, but it advertises itself online as a private residence that the owner or owners use as a “social venue.”
Photos from The Studios’ website showcase rooms outfitted with beds, couches, televisions, at least one stripper pole and bondage equipment.
Robbins said that on Friday and Saturday nights, club attendees park in front of her home and others in the neighborhood. The Studios’ website warns that cars parked next to the fire station across the street from the building will be towed.
“I don’t know these people, and I don’t know what kind of people they are,” she said. “And, I know they are not here to visit people in the neighborhood because you see them walking on up to the club.”
A representative of The Studios could not be reached for comment. Sex Dolls Experience declined to comment and made several changes to its website after being contacted by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
At first, its website invited customers to “indulge in the ultimate sexual experience,” but the next day it stated that Sex Dolls Experience allows prospective buyers to “try” sex dolls before purchasing them.
On Wednesday, a “What to Expect” section of the website described an appointment with one of the dolls, including meeting a host on arrival, picking out a doll, wig and costume, and being escorted to a reserved room for a prenegotiated period of time.
On Thursday, only the description of meeting a host remained, and the rest was replaced with “We are not a brothel!!”
Other neighbors said they weren’t too worried about the club, aside from issues with parking and litter. Elaine Pierce lives in a home near the intersection of Reno Avenue and Pecos, not too far from The Studios.
She said she’s more concerned about homeless people squatting under some trees near her home.
“We don’t have any children here. My youngest is 32,” Pierce said.
A licensed sex worker living in Las Vegas recently spoke out against the Sex Dolls Experience. Roxanne Price is concerned that sex dolls could prove to be stiff competition for her and other sex workers in Nevada.
Prostitution is illegal in Clark County, where Las Vegas is located, but licensed sex workers can work at legal brothels in neighboring counties. Price, 25, works in Pahrump.
Sex workers in Nevada are required to pass a background check, undergo weekly testing for sexually transmitted diseases and pay out of pocket for their doctor’s appointments and licensing fees.
“While human prostitutes are mired in legal red tape, doll brothels don’t have to worry about complying with any restrictive legislation,” Price said. “It’s as if sex dolls and sex robots have more rights and freedom than actual human sex workers.”
