Beyonce’s Three Kids Joined Her on the Set of Her ‘Vogue’ Shoot and Blue Ivy Took Control!
The magazine released behind-the-scene footage on Tuesday, August 14. In the clip, which is set to Curtis Mayfield’s “The Makings of You,” Beyonce is seen posing for photographer Tyler Mitchell, inspecting Polaroid photos and goofing around during outtakes. But it’s a cartwheeling Blue who steals the show. At the beginning of the video, the little girl takes control of the camera and announces, “I’m gonna zoom in for you guys, OK?” Later, Blue melts hearts when she kisses her baby brother.
The Destiny’s Child alum opened up about her hopes and dreams for her daughters Blue and Rumi. “It’s important to me that they see themselves too — in books, films and on the runways. It’s important to me that they can see themselves as CEOs, as bosses, and that they know they can write the script for their own lives — that they can speak their minds and have no ceiling,” the multi-Grammy winning artist told Vogue. “They don’t have to be a certain type or fit into a specific category. They don’t have to be politically correct as long as they’re authentic, respectful, compassionate, and empathetic.”
Beyoncé will support her daughters choices later in life without judgement: “They can explore any religion, fall in love with any race, and love who they want to love.”

Bella Thorne Accused of Ripping off Black Owned Makeup Brand
20-year-old ex-Disney star Bella Thorne launched her makeup line on Saturday. The actress already had clothing and other Hot-Topic looking items via her Shopify store Filthy Fangs, but the addition of two eyeshadow palettes is what really has people talking.
As soon as pictures were posted, people on social media quickly began to point out how similar Thorne’s brand new eyeshadow palettes resemble those from an independent, black-owned makeup brand, Juvia’s Place.
Nigeria-born wife and mother of two Chichi Eburu launched the cosmetic company a little over four years ago; Juvia’s Place is known for their highly pigmented eyeshadow palettes and Afrocentric packaging.
You can take a look at the side-by-side of both palettes below to make a decision for yourself.
Quavo beats Drake in a half-court shootout for $10K
It looks like Drake and the Migos have been spending some time on the basketball court while on tour together. Before kicking off their Aubrey and the Three Migos tour in Kansas City this weekend, Drake and Quavo went head to head in a $10,000 half-court shootout on an illustrious neon-lit basketball court.
Quavo emerged victorious over Drizzy and posted the highlight on Instagram; the clip sees the Migos member effortlessly drain a half-court jump shot before erupting in celebration, with Drake following up and just barely missing his mark.
The two camps will reportedly be spending a lot more time on the hardwood while away from the stage. While speaking to Billboard about the run of shows, Quavo shared that an OVO vs Migos basketball tournament is in the works and will be played during down time while on the tour.
“I’m looking forward to this basketball tournament we got going on this whole tour,” Quavo said. “It’s like a playoff game and a trophy made. It’s going to be really intense. Every day we’re going to work out and get to the athletics.”

Elon Musk Responds to Azealia Banks’ Claims of Ghosting, Tweeting, and LSD: I Don’t Know Her
Azealia Banks, the prodigious MC who remains a Twitter villain even after being banned from the service and an underground rapper even after being dropped from multiple record labels, let loose on Instagram after an allegedly disastrous weekend at Elon Musk’s home to see Grimes, Musk’s girlfriend and a fellow musician.
However, when reached via Twitter direct messages, Musk told Gizmodo that he “has never even met [Banks] or communicated with her in any way.” In other words, he doesn’t know her.
A Tesla spokesperson told our sister site, Jalopnik, that the claims were “complete nonsense,” but Banks is a veteran of long and nonsensical beefs. She’s feuded with everyone from Sarah Palin to Nick Cannon. And, like both Musk’s Space X endeavors, wants her future beefs to be interplanetary.
Like a dystopian epistolary novel about two feuding houses, Banks told her side of the story via a breathtaking and scattered stream of Instastories. There’s a damsel in distress (Banks, left alone in the mansion), enigmatic villains (Grimes and Musk), and heady oppression metaphors (Banks compares the entire ordeal of having her time wasted to white colonization of Africa.)
According to Banks, she spent the past few days at the Musk estate in LA, hoping to finish a song with Grimes for her upcoming sophomore album. The collaboration never came to fruition. Banks alleges Grimes ignored her for days, the first point in a deeply absurd comedy of errors that Banks describes as “a real [life] episode of ‘Get Out.’”
“I waited all weekend while grimes coddled her boyfriend for being too stupid to know not to go on twitter while on acid,” Banks posted. “It was probably some weird threesome sex shit to being with.”
Banks and Grimes, however, have been teasing a collaboration on Twitter for months in advance of Bank’s new album. But rather than cut her losses and simply fly back to New York in silence, Banks went on a separate Insta-rant that began as a delirious critique of colonial wealth and racial privilege, became a vaguely eugenicist denigration of Musk as a caveman, and ended, ultimately, on a few lines that will probably appear on her album in lieu of Grimes. (Gizmodo, it should be noted, could not verify all of these messages were sent by Banks, which were captured by other reporters but have apparently been deleted since.)
“Elon Musk is really part of the problem…when you talk about white male privilege and colonialism,” it begins. “The last time I try working with a white bitch,” it ends.

Arizona police searching for 19-year-old girl who vanished after leaving work
The roommate of an Arizona teenager missing since early August said she received an out-of-character text message from the teen shortly before she vanished.
Kiera Bregman, 19, disappeared the morning of Aug. 4 after leaving work early.
She was last seen in her Phoenix apartment, where she left both her wallet and identification behind — something her family and friends say is highly unlike her.
Also out of character is the text message roommate Destiny Hall-Chand says she received from Bregman that indicated she was heading out to meet up with a man she’d met days earlier.
“She was saying something that she was going out with some guy that she met at the store a couple days ago, which is something that’s not like her,” Hall-Chand told CBS affiliate KPHO-TV. “I mean, that’s not something that she would do.”
Bregman, originally from San Diego, moved to the Arizona city with her boyfriend in March.
But mom Kiersten Bragg said on “Good Morning America” Monday that since leaving home, her daughter — who she last spoke to via text July 30 — had lost some of her spark.
“(She wasn’t) her normal, happy self,” Bragg said of their last conversation. “Maybe circumstances in her life when she came out here caused her to maybe have some anxiety or stuff about what she was going through…. That’s when she started changing, when she started dating this guy and coming out here, so I do believe that a lot – that has to do with that relationship.”
Bragg, who traveled to Phoenix to help search for her daughter, also noted that she heard it was Bregman’s boyfriend who picked her up from work the day she vanished.
“For her to leave her purse with her wallet and ID there at the apartment, that’s not normal, that’s why I feel like there’s something not right here,” she said.
A GoFundMe account arranged by a cousin has so far raised approximately $9,000 of its $50,000 goal.
Bregman stands at 5’ 3” and weighs 145 lbs.

‘BlacKkKlansman’ Star Laura Harrier Is Delivering History Lessons With Her Hair

You’ve seen actress and model Laura Harrier gracing the red carpet promoting the latest Spike Lee film in which she stars, “BlacKkKlansman,” but what you may have missed were her gorgeous hairstyles paying tribute to black women throughout cinema history.
In a recent interview with Refinery 29, celebrity hairstylist Lacy Redwaytold the fashion and women’s lifestyle outlet that Harrier’s hair was an homage to blaxploitation actress Pam Grier, award-winning acting icon Cicely Tyson and music icon Diana Ross.
Harrier plays an activist named Patrice in the latest Spike Lee joint, which is about a black officer infiltrating his local Ku Klux Klan chapter.
“I knew the movie was taking place in the 1970s, and Laura plays an activist. That is where my initial inspiration started,” Redway said. “I wanted to use this moment as a teachable one and celebrate both the strong women of that time and strong women in general.”
The proof is in the pudding. If you scrolled through Redway’s Instagram feed, you could get a glimpse of some the looks Harrier channeled. On the first red carpet appearance, Redway styled Harrier after Grier’s kickass character Foxy Brown.
Redway styled Harrier’s hair into cornrows as a way to show her commitment to the natural hair movement.
“More often than not, young people aren’t aware of where things originated from and how important some things are as far as preserving history within a community,” she said. “With social media and lack of education, you can easily have braided hairstyles — identity symbols for tribes in Africa — be dwindled down.”
Not all of the hairstyles came from the 1970s. Some were inspired by the Himba woman in northern Namibia, Janet Jackson in Poetic Justiceand Brandy from her time playing the title character on the TV show Moesha.
See Harrier in the Spike Lee-directed film, BlacKkKlansman, currently in theaters.
Shooter charged with manslaughter in Clearwater stand your ground case
Prosecutors charged Michael Drejka, the man accused of killing Markeis McGlockton in a shooting that has reignited a debate over Florida’s stand your ground law, with manslaughter Monday.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Drejka was taken into custody Monday morning. He was being booked about 12:20 p.m. into the Pinellas County Jail, where he will be held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
“It’s about time,” said McGlockton’s father, Michael McGlockton, adding that he was ecstatic. “This is exactly what I wanted. This is exactly what me and my family wanted was to get this guy behind bars.”
Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney Bernie McCabe said Monday that his office “reviewed everything, and we filed the charge we think we can prove.”
“I’m comfortable that we moved expeditiously to review the case,” he said.
Drejka, who turned 48 since the shooting, had avoided arrest since he shot 28-year-old McGlockton on July 19 because of the controversial self-defense law that eliminated one’s duty to retreat before resorting to force.
Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri announced July 20 that his agency was precluded from arresting Drejka because evidence showed it was “within the bookends of stand your ground and within the bookends of force being justified,” which provides immunity from arrest, the sheriff said. He forwarded the case Aug. 1 to the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney’s Office to make a final charging determination.
