Kellyanne Conway: ‘I’m a victim of sexual assault’
Kellyanne Conway cleared her throat for what she was about to say.
“I’m a victim of sexual assault,” President Trump’s adviser told CNN on Sunday.
Conway and anchor Jake Tapper were discussing the political edges of sexual assault allegations against Brett M. Kavanaugh in the wake of the Supreme Court nominee’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.
A final vote on his nomination has been delayed to allow time for the FBI to investigate those allegations.
“I feel very empathetic, frankly, for victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment and rape,” Conway said during the interview on “State of the Union.”
Then she paused and made her personal revelation.
“This is the first time I’ve ever heard you talk about something personal like that, and I’m really sorry,” said Tapper, who, like Conway herself, appeared taken aback.

Pete Davidson Joked About Messing With Ariana Grande’s Birth Control on SNL
The 44th season of Saturday Night Live premiered on Saturday night—and it definitely gave fans a lot to talk about. There was Matt Damon’s portrayal of a super bro-y Brett Kavanaugh in the show’s cold open, as well as Kanye West performing dressed first as a giant bottle of Perrier and then in a MAGA hat. But there was one moment during Pete Davidson‘s turn on the “Weekend Update” desk that Twitter is decidedly not ok with.
While sitting down with SNL cast mate Colin Jost to chat about his engagement (and whether or not the couple has a prenup), Davidson joked that his fiancee, singer Ariana Grande, pays $60,000 for rent while all he has to do is “stock the fridge.” When Jost commented that a man “doesn’t always have to be the breadwinner in a relationship,” Davidson replied, “G*****n right, he does not—last night I switched her birth control with Tic Tacs.”
“I believe in us, and all,” he continued, “I just want to make sure she can’t go anywhere.”
If you’re fully cringing at this statement, you are definitely not alone.
Fans on Twitter were less than thrilled with the comment, especially given the timing of this weeks episode. “Apparently Pete Davidson thinks it’s ok to make jokes about switching Ariana’s birth control with tic-tacs?? Really? At this stage in the game this dude can no longer call these jokes,” wrote one fan on Twitter. “#SNL Pete Davidson joking that he switched Ariana Grade’s birth control with tic tacs IS COMPLETELY TONE DEAF given all of their needling of Kavanaugh.”

Kanye West Delivers Pro-Trump Rant on ‘SNL,’ Gets Booed By Audience
The rapper/entrepreneur delivered a pro-Trump speech in a red MAGA hat after his final performance—one that didn’t make it to air.
Following his performance of “Ghost Town” during the 44th season premiere of Saturday Night Live, Kanye West, sporting a red Make America Great Again hat in support of President Donald Trump, went on one of his typical rants.
The bizarre lecture occurred off-air, after his performance, where he was joined by Kid Cudi and 070 Shake, and was cut for time—but comedian Chris Rock, who was in the audience at Studio 8H in New York City, was able to capture part of it on his Instagram.

Chicago blues guitarist Otis Rush dead at 84
He was an architect of Chicago’s ‘West Side Sound’ in the 1950s and 1960s.
CHICAGO — Legendary Chicago blues guitarist Otis Rush, whose passionate, jazz-tinged music influenced artists from Carlos Santana and Eric Clapton to the rock band Led Zeppelin, died Saturday at the age of 84, his longtime manager said.
Rush succumbed to complications from a stroke he suffered in 2003, manager Rick Bates said.
He catapulted to international fame in 1956 with his first recording on Cobra Records of “I Can’t Quit You Baby,” which reached No. 6 on the Billboard R&B charts.
He was a key architect of the Chicago “West Side Sound” in the 1950s and 1960s, which modernized traditional blues to introduce more of a jazzy, amplified sound.
“He was one of the last great blues guitar heroes. He was an electric God,” said Gregg Parker, CEO and a founder of the Chicago Blues Museum.
Rush loved to play to live audiences, from small clubs on the West Side of Chicago to sold out venues in Europe and Japan.
“He was king of the hill in Chicago from the late 1950s into the 1970s and even the 80s as a live artist,” said Bates.

Tiffany Haddish is glad she didn’t have to kiss Kevin Hart in Night School: ‘Ew, gross’
For most of Night School, Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish’s characters seem destined to end up together. It’s a Hollywood tale as old as time: The main male character has a fiancée who doesn’t truly love him for him, but then he meets a woman who makes him a better man, and after some spirited back-and-forth, they realize they are the ones for each other. Well, that is what Teddy (Hart) thought, going in for a kiss on Carrie (Haddish) during a slow dance at prom, only for her night school teacher to reveal that she’s gay. And it turns out, Haddish is very thankful for the twist.
“I love that we switched it up,” she tells EW. “Me, being in love with Kevin? Ew, gross. [Laughs.] He’s like my brother. If they would have gone, ‘Okay, now you guys have to kiss,’ I would have been like, ‘Ughhhh.’ That would have been really hard for me to do. Kevin’s not gross, I’m just saying that’s like my big brother. Literally, I’ve known him for so long and he’s mentored me and checked me on so much stuff just like a big brother would, even though he’s only like four or five months older than me.”

Rapper Nelly settles with Seattle woman who accused him of rape
The woman, Monique Greene, claimed last October she was at a show in Auburn where Nelly had performed and then was invited to hang out with him aboard his tour bus.
Once on the bus, she claims Nelly sexually assaulted her then kicked her out and tossed a $100 bill at her.
The rapper, whose real name is Cornell I. Haynes Jr., was arrested a few hours later on his tour bus in an Auburn Walmart parking lot.
He was released a few hours later and prosecutors later said they weren’t charging him because Greene wasn’t cooperating with the case.
Greene filed a lawsuit and Nelly countersued, claiming that the sex was consensual and her lawsuit was motivated by “greed and vindictiveness.” KOMO News generally doesn’t name people who say they are victims of sex crimes, but Greene’s lawyer said she agreed to be publicly identified.
Lawyers for both parties agreed this week to dismiss their cases, but there were conflicting reports on the terms of the settlement.
The 43-year-old rapper is best known for his early 2000s songs such as “Hot in Herre” and “Over and Over.”

Anika Noni Rose, Voice Of Princess Tiana, Breaks Silence On ‘Ralph Breaks The Internet’ Controversy
Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Princess Tiana in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, released a statement on her her Instagram about the role she has played in Disney’s decision to make modifications to the design of Tiana for the character’s cameo in the upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet.
Rose says that she was surprised when she first saw the cg version of the character, and noted reactions online and her DMs, before deciding to reach out to the studio.
She was invited to the studio three weeks ago to meet with the Ralph Breaks the Internet crew, as well as animator Mark Henn, who was the lead animator of Tiana in The Princess and the Frog. During the meeting, Henn showed her “the steps they were taking to bring those things back that got lost in the move from hand drawn to cgi,” such as the character’s richer skin tone and rounded nose.
“It was important to me to hear what Disney had to say,” Rose said, “and to have an open dialogue about legacy and representation. They did not have to make time to give me a presentation on the process, but I’m very glad that they did.”
Rose’s full statement from her Instagram account can be read below:
I’ve been very quiet on this subject because it was important for me to do my due diligence before publicly addressing something as near and dear to my heart (and face) as Princess Tiana.
This summer new images were released where she looked very different, with lighter skin and much sharper features. I was as surprised as most of her & my fans were. Aside from my personal feelings, I noted how people felt online (and in my dms) and I was glad to see that people are still very much in love with and supportive of our Princess.
My team and I immediately put in a call to the studio to talk about the visual changes, and three weeks ago I had a meeting in person with the Wreck it Ralph team, my original animator Mark Henn, and others.
They explained how cgi animation did different things to the characters’ color tones in different light compared to hand drawn original characters, and I was able to express how important it is to the little girls (and let’s face it, grown women) who felt represented by her that her skin tone stay as rich as it had been, and that her nose continue to be the little round nose that Mark so beautifully rendered in the movie; the same nose on my very own face and on many other little brown faces around the world, that we so rarely get to see represented in fantasy.
When we were making Princess and The Frog I’ll never forget Mark asking me if there were any things I wished to see on her, and among the first things I said were a round nose, full lips, and that she be left handed. He made certain to incorporate these things as he created my likeness as a Princess then, and he sat with me in this meeting showing me the steps they were taking to bring those things back that got lost in the move from hand drawn to CGI.
It was important to me to hear what Disney had to say, and to have an open dialogue about legacy and representation. They did not have to make time to give me a presentation on the process, but I’m very glad that they did.
I also appreciate that this far into the process Disney had enough care and respect for all who love Princess Tiana and her legacy to spend the time and money to make the adjustments necessary. In doing so, they recognize that her legacy is also their legacy; two things I’m very proud to be a part of.
Here I am leaving the studios after our meeting. It never gets old walking those halls and being a part of something so very special. Thank you for continuing to love and support Princess Tiana. I’m sure you know that she loves you right back.
