Melania discusses Trump’s alleged infidelities
Melania Trump has more pressing matters on her mind than allegations of infidelity by her husband, she insisted in a no-holds-barred interview that airs Friday.
“I’m a mother and a first lady, and I have much more important things to think about and to do,” she told ABC News when asked whether President Trump’s alleged straying has put a strain on their marriage.
“It is not concern and focus of mine,” she told correspondent Tom Llamas in an interview conducted during her recent solo tour to Africa.
The president has denied porn star Stormy Daniels’ allegations that she had a fling with the future commander-in-chief more than a decade ago — though he has admitted reimbursing Michael Cohen, his former personal attorney, a $130,000 hush payment.
Rudy Giuliani, the president’s current personal lawyer, said in June that the first lady “believes her husband, and she knows it’s untrue,” referring to her thoughts on Daniels’ claims.
But the first lady brushed aside the former New York City mayor’s remarks.
“I never talked to Mr. Giuliani,” she said. Asked why he made that claim, she added: “I don’t know. You need to ask him.”
Melania said the constant barrage of embarrassing stories in the last year is “not always pleasant.”
“But I know what is right and what is wrong and what is true and not true,” she said, adding that the first couple’s marriage is solid.
“Yes, we are fine,” she said. “It’s what media speculate, and it’s gossip. It’s not always correct stuff.”
In her wide-ranging interview, which airs in full at 10 p.m. Friday, the first lady also addresses the infamous jacket she wore as she visited immigrant children along the border with Mexico.
“Let’s talk about the jacket,” Llamas says about the parka, which carried the mystifying words “I really don’t care, do u?” across the back.
“The jacket,” she replies in the snippet, which doesn’t give away details.

Lil Wayne Claps Back At Eli Manning & Frank Isola: “Keep My Name Out Your Mouth”
Lil Wayne lays down the law.
Now, fresh off the celebration of Tha Carter V’s rampant success, Wayne has taken a moment to address a few detractors, primarily Frank Isola and Eli Manning. Tunechi uploaded a seven part video on IG, in which he broke it down accordingly. “Frank, I know you in New York. I spent a little bit of time on an Island there, called Rikers Island,” says Tunechi. “I don’t know much about you though. Fact is, you don’t know much about me. With that said, keep my name out your mouth.” He caps it off with an unwavering stare that speaks volumes; his goonie goons are indeed the gooniest, it says.
He proceeds to address Eli Manning. “Every time somebody bad mouth you, I be the first one to say – you can ask Skip Bayless, that’s my homie – first thing I’m gon’ say is ‘man listen, I got an uncle that was doing time that remembers seeing Eli, Archie, Peyton, Cooper, he remembers seeing them at five in the morning every other morning on the schoolyard, way before the students get there, practicing. I’m the first one to back you up,” says Wayne. “And here you talk about you don’t watch Lil Wayne much. That’s fine. I’m cool with you, I don’t care what you watch. But you know, this is hometown love, man. You ain’t gotta do me like that. I didn’t say anything bad about you, man.”
It’s refreshing to see Wayne taking the high ground, addressing his “detractors” in a calm and humble fashion. “I ain’t gon’ say nothing bad about you now,” says Wayne, to Manning. “It’s still hometown love, I fucks with you Eli. It’s all good, you ain’t gotta watch much of me. You should probably listen, if you could. You probably need to with the way you’ve been playing. You need to bang some Carter V before games.”
“So now I want to say what I think about the whole ordeal,” continues Wayne, in the seven-part clip. “I think that you, you as in all of ya’ll, just a little bit upset that it’s not ya’ll who can get somebody with a number one album (thank God) and one of the greats on the NFL to sit down in a room together and get on camera and get such a great interview. For you Frank, I heard you also say that I didn’t say anything, that I was just a yes man. Frank, you should know that that was edited.”
He proceeds to school Frank on the nature of his interview, which he claims went to a “real” place. “Maybe that’s why [Odell] opened up like that,” says Wayne. “He was being real cause I was being real, and Josina was keeping it real. I think you were just upset you weren’t on the other side of the table asking questions. Because I don’t think you’d ever get the chance to do such a thing. Because if I, or Odell, were on the other side of the table of whoever you are, Frank, we probably wouldn’t even answer the questions.”
“Lil Wayne is serious,” says the ever-quotable Wayne, in the concluding moments. “And I was serious when I said keep my name out your mouth, Frank.”

Anthony Weiner Scheduled For Early Release From Prison
The former Democratic congressman, who admitted to sexting with a teen, is reportedly being released in May for good conduct.
Anthony Weiner, the former New York congressman who pleaded guilty to sexting with a minor, is scheduled to be released from prison three months earlier than his original sentencing stipulated.
Federal Bureau of Prisons records show that Weiner is scheduled to be released on May 14, 2019, after serving 18 months in prison. He was originally sentenced to 21 months and had been scheduled for release in August 2019.
Weiner is being released for good conduct in prison, CNN and Politico confirmed Tuesday with a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson.
The former congressman and ex-husband of Hillary Clinton’s longtime aide Huma Abedin turned himself over to the FBI and pleaded guilty to a federal obscenity charge in May 2017. In front of a judge in a Manhattan federal court, Weiner admitted that he met a 15-year-old high school student on the internet and “engaged in obscene communication with this teen, just as I had done and continued to do with adult women.”
“I accept full responsibility for my conduct,” Weiner said in a statement. “I have a sickness but I do not have an excuse. … I apologize to the teenage girl who I mistreated so badly.”
Weiner, who served as a Democrat in the House of Representatives for over two decades, resigned from Congress in 2011 after he was caught exchanging sexually explicit photos with women on social media. He then lost a bid for New York City mayor after more explicit messages became public.
In late August, the New York Post reported that Weiner had sent photos of his crotch to another woman, including a photo in which he was posing next to his 4-year-old son. Hours after the story was published, Abedin announced she was separating from Weiner. She later filed for divorce.
Federal officials and the New York City Police Department began investigating Weiner in September 2016 after the Daily Mail published a story accusing him of sending sexually explicit text messages to a 15-year-old girl.
Weiner’s text messages played a role in the 2016 presidential campaign. During the probe of Weiner’s conduct, federal agents found emails from Abedin on his laptop, prompting then-FBI Director Jams Comey to reopen an investigation into the private email server Clinton used during her time as U.S. secretary of state.

Pope compares having an abortion to ‘hiring a hit man’
VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – Pope Francis on Wednesday compared having an abortion to “hiring a “hit man” to eliminate a problematic person, in comments sure to be welcomed by conservative Catholics who have accused the pontiff of not speaking out enough on “cultural war” issues.
Abortion is a raging political battle in a number of countries, including the United States, where many conservatives hope the Supreme Court will eventually overturn the landmark 1973 ruling known as Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion.
Francis made his off-the-cuff comments on abortion, some of his toughest to date, in an address to tens of thousands of people gathered in St. Peter’s Square for his weekly general audience.
The pope denounced what he called the contradiction of allowing “the suppression of human life in the mother’s womb in the name of safeguarding other rights”.
“But how can an act that suppresses an innocent and helpless life that is germinating be therapeutic, civilized or even simply human?” he said.
“I ask you: ‘Is it right to ‘take out’ a human life to solve a problem? What do you think? Is it right? Is it right or not?” he said in unprepared remarks.
Many in the crowd shouted “No”.
“Is it right to hire a hit man to solve a problem? You cannot, it is not right to kill a human being, regardless of how small it is, to solve a problem. It is like hiring a hit man to solve a problem,” he said.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches that life begins at the moment of conception and ends at the moment of natural death. It also forbids euthanasia but says that a family or a patient can decide to stop using extraordinary means to keep people alive.
Shortly after becoming pope in March 2013, Francis appeared to downplay the importance of “cultural war” issues such as abortion, contraception and gay marriage, saying in an interview the Church had become “obsessed” with them.
“It is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time,” he said in that interview, adding that the Church’s stand on them was very clear and that it also had to address social issues such as poverty, injustice and immigration.

Gladys Knight honors Aretha Franklin with gospel tribute at AMAs
Gladys Knight fronted a soulful gospel tribute to the late Aretha Franklin on Tuesday at the 2018 American Music Awards. Ledisi, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin and CeCe Winans joined for the all-star medley performance, which highlighted Franklin’s gospel roots and her seminal 1972 album, “Amazing Grace.”
Knight opened the show-closing set with a tender version of “Amazing Grace,” belting over piano and organ. The other singers followed with emphatic, spiritual takes on songs like “Climbing Higher Mountains,” “Mary, Don’t You Weep” and “How I Got Over.”
Knight, a personal friend of Franklin’s, also performed at the soul legend’s Detroit, Michigan funeral, singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Her appearance, however, was clouded with confusion when a local TV station reported that the vocalist said she was battling pancreatic cancer – the disease that killed Franklin. Knight subsequently clarified that she had previously been diagnosed with stage one breast cancer but is now “cancer-free.”
Franklin died in August at age 76, prompting tributes from numerous artists, including Mavis Staples, Smokey Robinson, Chris Stapleton, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. Record executive Clive Davis is reportedly planning an all-star Franklin tribute concert for November 14th at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.

Kim Kardashian West: Thanks for Putting Me on Gov’s Radar Says Death Row Prisoner
The death row inmate Kim Kardashian West pushed into the spotlight says he appreciates her support, but adds he desperately needs her to get him the one thing he needs to clear his name.
California prisoner Kevin Cooper‘s attorney, Norman Hile, tells TMZ … Cooper is aware Kim tweeted about him a few days ago, putting his case front and center with her 60 million followers, but says he really just needs one person’s attention — CA Governor Jerry Brown.
Cooper needs Gov. Brown to order new advanced DNA testing … a request that’s been ignored up to this point.
If you’re unfamiliar with his story … Cooper was convicted of 4 murders in the 1980s. He’s maintained his innocence, and even suggested he was framed. A NYT op-ed on the case concluded the same thing.
Kim’s tweet was a direct plea to Gov. Brown, and Hile says Cooper is hoping Kim’s legion of fans follow up, research his case and then write to Brown. For his part, Cooper is going to write a thank-you letter to Kim.
Our Kim sources tell us she has no personal connection to Cooper, and she simply stumbled across an article about him a few months ago. What’s also interesting … her push on his behalf comes just ahead of Kanye West‘s Thursday meeting with President Trump.
The White House says they’ll be talking prison reform, but Cooper’s case would be off the table — it’s a state matter, not federal.

Bar accused of glamorizing violence against women after serving cocktail with ‘disturbing’ name
A bar in Sydney has come under fire for promoting a cocktail on their menu that seems to glamorize domestic violence.
Customers of Little Jack Horner have called out the establishment for a drink named “To-Kill-Her” —apparently a play on the pronunciation of tequila, the main ingredient in the cocktail, in addition to orange, lemon, grapefruit bitters, and Cointreau.
Many expressed their outrage on the bar’s Facebook page, calling the name of the drink “grossly irresponsible” and “incredibly offensive.”
“The ‘To Kill Her’ cocktail name is neither funny nor clever,” one person wrote. “It is a grossly irresponsible act to have it appear on your menu.”
“Domestic violence and femicide is a real issue, pairing that issue with alcohol is beyond disgusting,” another commenter wrote.
Many others echoed similar sentiments.
One person suggested the bar name the cocktail “after thrilling women rather than killing them.” Another customer said that a manager had assured some customers the name would be switched to something more acceptable but still has not delivered on that promise.
When Yahoo Lifestyle contacted the bar about the outrage, the manager said the name of the cocktail had been changed to “To-Love-Her.”

Yoko Ono releases new version of John Lennon’s Imagine
The co-writer of her husband’s signature solo hit releases new ambient version taken from new album Warzone
Forty-seven years after she co-wrote it with her husband John Lennon, Yoko Ono has released a new version of his signature solo hit, Imagine.
Taken from her forthcoming new album Warzone, Ono, 85, creates a new arrangement, first set to drifting ambient tones before the famous piano motif is brought in later on.
Until recently, the song was credited solely to Lennon; Ono was added as a co-writer in 2017. The song’s central lyrical structure, a series of wistful, utopian scenarios, was inspired by Ono’s poetry collection Grapefruit, which featured lines like: “Imagine your head filled with pencil leads / Imagine one of them broken.” Lennon had acknowledged her contribution in a 1980 interview, saying: “A lot of it – the lyric and the concept – came from Yoko. But those days I was a bit more selfish, a bit more macho, and I sort of omitted to mention her contribution. But it was right out of Grapefruit, her book.”
Warzone reimagines other songs she originally wrote between 1970 and 2009. She has since continued her career in visual and conceptual art, unveiling her first permanent installation, Skylanding, in 2016. She also recorded a voice part for Wes Anderson’s 2018 film Isle of Dogs, playing a scientist called Yoko Ono.
