Parents charged, suspected of severe child abuse

“I didn’t see the children very often,” said a neighbor, Diana Yesville. “I saw them occasionally but I didn’t really hear any screaming nothing like that.”

Yesville lives right below that family. She said everything seemed normal.

“I feel bad like I feel like I should have heard something,” she said. “I mean there’s a lot of music, maybe that’s it. But it’s not like I’m completely oblivious. I thought I would have heard something.”

Police say the boy and his siblings, a 6-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy, told them about what they called the “whoopins” they would get. They told police they would get choked and punched in the face, even struck with household items like cords, hangars, belts, spatulas and switches.

They were instructed not to tell because “snitches get switched.”

Neither of those suspects has any criminal history. The judge set a bond of $50,000 cash or surety each.

The children are currently in CYFD custody.
