Teenager accused of revenge murder of pedophile priest by shoving crucifix down his throat
A teenager in France has been arrested after authorities say he tortured and killed an allegedly abusive priest by suffocating him and shoving a crucifix down his throat.
The revenge killing occurred Nov. 4 at 91-year-old priest Roger Matassoli’s house in Agnetz, Oise, France, where the 19-year-old, identified only as Alexandre V., was working as a housekeeper, according to the Daily Mail.
Alexandre claimed to have been sexually abused by Matassoli in the past. Alexandre’s father, Stephane, was also allegedly abused by the priest when he was a child. Matassoli was previously accused by at least four others of sexual abuse between 1960 and 2000.
Alexandre was initially arrested on the day of the priest’s murder but was not charged until Thursday because he was hospitalized for psychiatric reasons. The teenager told authorities he can’t remember killing the priest, whose body was found with signs of torture.
Matassoli was removed from his duties a decade ago because of sexual abuse allegations, though the church reportedly kept him on the payroll until last year.
Stephane said his father killed himself when he found out about the abuse. Alexandre also reportedly tried to kill himself after the murder.
“This man has shattered a whole family,” Stephane said.

Don Imus, Legendary ‘Imus in the Morning’ Host, Dies at 79
Don Imus, the radio personality whose insult humor and savage comedy catapulted him to a long-lasting and controversial career, has died at 79. His three-hour radio program, Imus in the Morning, was widely popular, especially with the over 25-male demographic.
Imus died Friday morning at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in College Station, Texas, after being hospitalized on Christmas Eve, a representative said. The cause of death was not disclosed.
Mike and the Mad Dog host Mike Francesca tweeted Friday, “Shocking news on the passing of my friend, Don Imus. He will long be remembered as one of the true giants in the history of radio.”
Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough added, “Morning Joe obviously owes its format to Don Imus. No one else could have gotten away with that much talk on cable news. Thanks for everything, Don.” Morning Joe started as a fill-in for Imus in the Morning after Imus was fired from MSNBC in 2007.
Imus in the Morning, which debuted on WNBC-AM in New York in 1971, most recently reached radio listeners via Citadel Media and was simulcast on the Fox Business Network.
Imus was loved or hated for his caustic loudmouth. Outspoken in an age of political correctness, his often coarse satire offended sensibilities. Yet his listeners included those whom he often ridiculed. His call-in guests included President Clinton, Dan Rather, Tim Russert, Bill Bradley, David Dinkins, Rudy Giuliani and political analyst Jeff Greenfield, who once remarked, “He’s out there talking the way most of us talk when we’re not in public.”
He sparked national outcry in 2007 when he made derogatory, racist remarks about the Rutgers women’s basketball team. CBS Radio and MSNBC then dropped his show.
He rebounded by signing a multiyear contract with the Fox Business Network in 2009 to simulcast Imus in the Morning from 6-9 a.m., with Fox anchors appearing during the program.
Imus battled a lifelong addiction to drugs and alcohol. In 2009, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Imus was often compared to syndicated shock jock Howard Stern, who also had a stint on WNBC radio early in his career, and they frequently appeared on each other’s shows. Although Imus could not match Stern’s audience in terms of numbers, advertisers were well aware of Imus’ better-educated and richer demographic, often preferring him.
Imus in the Morning sandwiched music around his in-your-face commentary in which he mocked authority figures and ridiculed social and political problems. His no-holds-barred humor, including gags and pranks, spurred the onset of “shock jocks” like Stern. A mix of rock ’n’ roll, raunchy humor, call-ins and hard barbs, Imus in the Morning was a huge hit.
He also performed stand-up for a time, garnering favorable reviews from such unlikely reviewers as The New York Times.
An active philanthropist, Imus and his wife, Deirdre, founded the Imus Ranch in 1999, where each summer children with cancer could enjoy the outdoors.
John Donald Imus Jr., was born on July 23, 1940, in Riverside, California. He was raised in Prescott, Arizona, where his family owned a large ranch. He dropped out of high school to join the U.S. Marines and after basic training won a chair in the band.
Following discharge, he worked at an array of odd jobs: window dresser (he was fired for staging mannequin striptease shows), uranium miner and railroad brakeman, where he suffered a serious neck injury and won a large cash settlement.
While recovering, he set his sites on becoming a disc jockey, ostensibly to play his own music on the airwaves. He moved to Los Angeles, enrolled in a Hollywood broadcasting school and landed his first deejay job at KUTY, a station in Palmdale, California.
During an eight-month stint there, he developed a skill for comic patter and moved to KJOY in Stockton, California, where he staged satirical social and political gags, including an Eldridge Cleaver look-alike contest when the Black Panther was on the lam. His station manager did not see the humor, and he was fired.
He moved to KXOA in Sacramento, where his satirical hijinks were appreciated by the station manager who counseled him that his humor would be more lethal and less likely to attract legal action. Intent on becoming more lethal, Imus created a slew of satirical characters, including the huckster Rev. Billy Sol Hargus.
His on-air antics infuriated authorities, including the FCC, which was not amused when he phoned a fast-food outlet and ordered 1,200 hamburgers and requested a bizarre array of toppings. The gag resulted in a ruling that deejays must identify themselves when making on-air calls. The clash with government authority, not surprisingly, boosted his ratings, and KXOA was No. 1 in Sacramento while he was there.
Imus is survived by his wife, Deirdre; sons Wyatt and Lt. Zachary Don Cates; and daughters Nadine, Ashley, Elizabeth and Toni.
“Don loved and adored Deirdre, who unconditionally loved him back, loved spending his time watching Wyatt become a highly skilled, champion rodeo rider and calf roper and loved and supported Zachary, who first met the Imus family at age 10 when he participated in the Imus Ranch program for kids with cancer, having battled and overcome leukemia, eventually becoming a member of the Imus family and Don and Deirdre’s second son,” his family said in a statement. The family will hold a private service in the coming days and asks for donations to be made to the Imus Ranch Foundation.

NYPD Refuses To Fire Racist Cop Convicted Of Breaking Into Black Woman’s Home
Michael J. Reynolds, the racist NYPD cop who barged into a Black woman’s home in Tennessee earlier this month is still employed by the police department. Reynolds called Conese Halliburton and her four sons the N-word in a drunken rage but was only sent to jail for a few weeks and placed on three years probation.
NewsOne previously reported that Reynolds was renting an Airbnb for a friend’s bachelor party in September when he began “kicking in the front door of [Halliburton’s next door] 12 South-area home and charging in in the middle of the night. Video surveillance taken from a neighbor’s RING camera showed Reynolds screaming and threatening the family and using racial slurs.”
Shortly after Reynolds’ forced entry, Halliburton said that her dogs tried to bite the NYPD officer, but to no avail, “he kept coming down the hall,” she said. “Nothing was holding him back. He was like, ‘This is my mother f—ing house.’”
There is surveillance footage of Reynolds threatening the family with racism and physical violence.
“Try to shoot me, and I’ll break every f—ing bone in your f—ing neck,” said Reynolds. He then called them “fucking niggers.”
He blamed his actions on alcohol.
Halliburton called 911 to report the incident. However, Reynolds was arrested days later.
NewsOne reached out to the NYPD for an update on the status of the officer, who was sentenced to just two weeks in jail and three years probation. An unidentified employee said that Reynolds’ current status with the NYPD is “modified.” When asked to explain what “modified” meant, the woman replied, “Modified is what it means, modified.”
So, essentially, a “partial or minor change” was made, per Oxford dictionary.
A petition has since been launched to push for the firing of the NYPD officer. The Change.org petition is calling out the NYPD for continuing to employ Reynolds. “There is no reasonable argument for leaving a violent, racist, convicted criminal on the police force, armed with a gun in New York City,” the petition says. As of Thursday, it received nearly 6,000 signatures.
Reynolds’ recent racist and heinous actions begets questions and concerns. How are his Black colleagues receiving him? How do they feel about the situation in general? Especially considering a recent report from The Hill which claimed that several NYPD officers allege that they were given orders to arrest people based on race between 2011 and 2015.
In the report, officers also admitted in sworn statements that they were part of a discrimination lawsuit, in which they were instructed by a commander to target Black and Latino people, according to The New York Times.
“You should write more black and Hispanic people,” an officer named Aaron Diaz recalled being told in 2012.
A spokesperson from the NYC Law Department told The Hill that the accusations are “meritless.” “These claims of discrimination have not been substantiated. The NYPD investigated the allegations in Officer Maximilien’s declaration and found them to be meritless. We’ll continue to defend against these baseless accusations,” the spokesperson said.
As of Dec. 20, Reynolds was still employed by the NYPD, which should raise questions.

Wife horrified after husband gets ‘ugly’ tattoo of her snoring
Getting inked with your wife’s image is typically a permanent proclamation of love.
However, one UK man flipped the script on his unsuspecting soulmate with an unflattering thigh tattoo of his paramour snoring.
James McGraw, 40, a window cleaner from Portsmouth, wanted revenge on his wife Kelly for giving him a shoddy haircut as a goof. That’s why the jokester got a tattoo depicting his better half passed out on a plane with her mouth agape while he gleefully mocks her.
The trolling portrait is an exact replica of a sneaky cellphone pic snapped by the mischievousness hubby.
Go figure: The gag didn’t go over well with McGraw’s “horrified” wife, who told the Sun he’d gone too far. Despite the fact that the couple had purportedly played pranks on each other for 24 years, Kelly says “there’s a line and he’s crossed it big time.”
The social-media masses beg to differ.
James posted a Facebook pic of the prank with the caption. “Don’t know what her problem is . . . everyone else seems to like it.” The viral post garnered hundreds of reactions and comments such as “legend” and “can’t stop laughing every time I see this.”
However, some sympathized with his snoring soulmate. “I think it’s both ugly and mean,” commented one unamused poster. “[My husband] just showed me this I would kill him,” said another.
Fortunately, it seems James will live happily ever after. Kelly has since come around to the joke, even admitting to the Sun that she now can’t look at the picture without laughing.
However, James better not let his guard down. “I’ll think of something to get him back, but it’s going to have to be really, really bad to top that,” Kelly says.
“I’m also scared because I don’t know what she’s now planning,” admits James.
This isn’t the first time a husband’s embarrassing prank has tested the strength of his marital bond. This past September, another UK trickster ignited his wife’s wrath by locking his candy stash in an Amazon fridge safe to prevent her from eating it.

Daycare owner arrested after 26 kids found behind phony wall
A Colorado daycare owner was arrested this week, more than a month after authorities discovered 26 preschoolers behind a fake wall at her facility.
Carla Faith, 58, was booked Monday on suspicion of reckless child abuse without injury and attempt to influence a public servant, authorities said.
Three employees — Katelynne Nelson, 31, Christina Swauger, 35, and Valerie Fresquez, 24 — were arrested on similar charges.
Police checking out reports of overcrowding at Play Mountain Place in Colorado Springs Nov. 13 said they found the children — all under the age of 2 — in a basement behind a false wall, along with two adults.
Most of the toddlers were dehydrated and in dirty diapers, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by The Gazette.
When the cops showed up, Faith had claimed there was no basement and that children were away at a park, according to the affidavit.
But one of the officers noticed a large stack of children’s backpacks in a closet. Faith said she was volunteering to clean the backpacks for a soccer team, the affidavit states.
An officer heard music coming from the basement and a child crying, and another cop eventually discovered the fake wall.
Parents said they had no clue their kids were being cared for in an unfinished basement, nor that Faith was watching so many tots.
Play Mountain Place was only authorized to care for six children. The state Department of Human Services suspended its license.
The department in November also ordered Faith to close two other daycares in Colorado Springs and said it was investigating their operations as well.
Faith posted $3,000 bond Wednesday. Her next court appearance is set for Jan. 2.

Colorado Bank Robbery Suspect Threw Stolen Money and Wished Everyone a ‘Merry Christmas’
A Colorado Springs bank robbery got a Christmas spin.
Around noon on Monday, police said that an older man threatened a bank with the use of a weapon.
But he took a page from another man with a white beard, according to a witness.
“He robbed the bank, came out, threw the money all over the place,’” Dion Pascale told CNN affiliate KKTV. “He started throwing money out of the bag and then said, ‘Merry Christmas!’”
Bystanders gathered the scattered cash and returned it to the bank teller as the suspect walked next door to the Starbucks and waited for the police, Pascale said.
The suspect, identified as David Wayne Oliver, was taken into custody at the coffee shop, police said. It is unclear if Oliver has representation.

Philadelphia woman was fatally stabbed in front of children on Christmas morning
A Philadelphia woman was stabbed to death in front of six children who lived with her in the early hours of Christmas Day, police said.
The 33-year-old man believed by authorities to be her current or former husband was standing over the bleeding woman on a street near their home when police arrived, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said in remarks recorded by CNN affiliate WPVI.
The 35-year-old woman was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. The man was taken into custody.
Six children, ages 8 to 16, were in the family home where police believe the altercation began, and they witnessed most of the incident, Small said. The woman’s 14-year-old son had multiple stab wounds to his thigh and was bleeding heavily, WPVI reported. He was in stable condition and being operated on early Wednesday morning, Small said.
“(The children) said the 33-year-old male stabbed the 35-year-old female inside the property, chased her outside, and continued to stab her when she was outside,” Small said.
One child hid the alleged weapon — a bloodied, 10-inch butcher knife — in an upstairs bedroom hoping to stop any further altercations, Small said.
It was evident “a violent struggle” unfolded in the home, where police found significant amounts of blood on both levels, broken furniture and shattered glass, Small said.

AZ woman tries to set boyfriend on fire for not celebrating new Subway job
A woman in Arizona is facing serious charges after she allegedly tried to set her boyfriend on fire because he wouldn’t celebrate her new job at a Subway restaurant, according to a report.
Kathy Jones, 46, was arrested on one count each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal damage for the Dec. 11 incident, KHOU reported.
The man, who is also her roommate, told investigators she sprayed him with lighter fluid and then threw lit matches at him.
Jones told police that although she had no memory of committing the allegations, she did recall being angry that the victim wasn’t interested in commending her for her new job.
Jones had imbibed two Smirnoff Ice vodka drinks and two drinks with rum, according to charging documents.
She is being held on a $15,000 bond.
