Couple faces charges after spending over $100k accidentally deposited in their bank account
MONTOURSVILLE, Penn. — A couple in Pennsylvania is facing theft charges and over $100,000 in overdraft fees after allegedly using money that was accidentally deposited into their bank account, WITN reports.
State police said the couple living at a home on Cypress Street in Montoursville got themselves into hot water after spending money that wasn’t theirs.
Investigators said Robert and Tiffany Williams had $120,000 deposited into their account at BB&T May 31 through a mistake by a teller.
But instead of contacting the bank about the deposit, the couple allegedly spent most of the money in just over two weeks from June 3 to June 19.
Neighbors were stunned.
“That is kind of shocking. With all the procedures the banks have set up, checking and double-checking and triple-checking. There’s no way anybody gets away with that stuff,” said Nate Weaver, a neighbor.
State police said the couple bought an SUV, two four-wheelers, a camper and a car trailer.
They also said the money was used on bills, car repairs and cash purchases. Along with that, the couple allegedly gave $15,000 to friends in need of money.
“I’m not that dumb but some people do stupid things sometimes,” said Robert Painton, a neighbor.
Once the bank realized a mistake had been made, it transferred the $120,000 to the correct account.
The bank contacted Tiffany Williams June 20 and told her the couple had to pay back the $107,000 in overdraft fees they incurred.
The bank called again June 21.
Tiffany said she and her husband would work out a payment plan.
Court papers show after those two initial phone calls from the bank, the couple had no contact with bank representatives, despite several attempts by the bank to reach them.
The couple is now facing felony theft charges.
A man at the Williams’ home said he was Robert’s father and had no idea what was going on.
Robert and Tiffany Williams were released on $25,000 bail.

Man charged after boasting about murder on Facebook
ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged a 38-year-old man in connection with a mid-July murder after the suspect allegedly boasted about killing people on social media.
According to prosecutors, the murder occurred just after 11 p.m. on July 17 in the 9000 block of Halls Ferry Road, located in the Baden neighborhood.
St. Louis police responded to calls for a shooting and found the victim on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds. EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The victim was later identified as 33-year-old Rafael Givins.
In August, St. Louis police released surveillance video from the neighborhood that appeared to show the suspect moments before shooting Givins.
Police received numerous tips identifying the shooter as Terrell Whiting, who lived just a few blocks away from the crime scene.
Whiting was taken into custody and questioned. Prosecutors said Whiting admitted to being in the area on the night of the shooting. He also admitted to owning a 9mm handgun, the same weapon used to kill Givins. He told investigators he had the gun with him that night but denied shooting anyone.
Investigators discovered that shortly after the murder, Whiting wrote on Facebook, “Whats the murder count inf St. Louis at this moment anyone know!!! #igot3.”
Whiting was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of armed criminal action. He was jailed without bond.
Police have not determined if Whiting is responsible for any additional murders.

Officer caught on camera kicking suspect resigns, is hired by other police department
BRECKENRIDGE HILLS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Woodson Terrace police officer who was caught on camera kicking a suspect in the head recently resigned and was hired by another police department, News 4 has learned.
Dash cam video showed the sergeant kicking a suspect after he surrendered. The incident happened near the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Ogden in north St. Louis County in April.
News 4 learned the officer resigned days before an internal affairs review but was recently hired by Breckenridge Hills police.
Woodson Terrace police say they can’t investigate further because the officer resigned, but the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office said the US Attorney’s office and FBI are looking in the matter.
Breckenridge Hills Police Chief John Griffin would not confirm if he has seen the video but said the officer was certified, and that his hiring was approved by the city council. Griffin added that the officer’s record is clean, giving him no reason not to hire him.
The officer has not been charged in connection with the incident.
The Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training Department, which regulates police officer’s licenses, said any police department must contact them within 30 days after an officer left and must detail the reason why.
Any police department considering hiring an officer has access to that information.

Daycare worker charged with killing 4-month-old girl who wouldn’t stop crying
(Meredith) — A 19-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly suffocated a baby girl at a daycare center in Delaware.
Dejoynay Ferguson was charged Friday with first-degree murder in connection with the 4-month-old’s death, the Delaware State Police said in a statement.
On Thursday, troopers and medical personnel responded to a call about an unresponsive infant at the Little People Child Development Center in Bear.
Ferguson allegedly placed her hands over the girl’s mouth and nose to intentionally restrict her breathing when she wouldn’t stop crying, according to court documents obtained by The News Journal.
After the baby became unresponsive, police said Ferguson placed her back into a crib. About 20 minutes later, Ferguson told the owner of the daycare the baby was unresponsive.
Medics transported the infant to Christiana Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police said Ferguson was the child’s assigned caregiver. She is currently being held on a $1,000,000 cash bail at the Dolores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution.
As a result of the incident, the state has suspended the daycare’s license indefinitely.

Police say a 28-year-old man awaiting sentencing on an attempted murder charge tossed urine on the prosecutor inside a Florida courtroom.
The attack happened Wednesday in Broward Circuit Judge Susan Alspector’s courtroom. Albert Narvaez is now also charged with battery for his attack on Broward Assistant State Attorney Andrew Newman.
A Broward Sheriff’s arrest report says urine went inside Newman’s mouth and all over his clothing. The report didn’t say what kind of container Narvaez used to store the urine in the courtroom.
The Miami Herald reports Narvaez charged at Newman, flung the urine at him and yelled, “He told me to do it!” He didn’t say who he was referring to.
The sentencing hearing was postponed.
Chief Assistant State Attorney Jeff Marcus said they’re “absolutely incensed” by the incident.

73-year-old woman gives birth to twins, believed to be the oldest person to ever give birth
ANDHRA PRADESH, India — A 73-year-old woman in India has given birth to twin girls.
Erramatti Mangayamma, a farmer from the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, is believed to be the oldest person ever to give birth.
She became pregnant through IVF and doctors delivered the babies via caesarian section Thursday.
“The surgery went well … the mother and the babies are all healthy with no complications,” Dr. Sanakayyala Umashankar, the director of Ahalya IVF, who performed the C-section, told CNN.
Mangayamma and her husband, 80-year-old E. Raja Rao, have been married since 1962 but had never been able to conceive naturally. They approached Umashankar in 2018 and, after preliminary tests were promising, the doctor agreed to give them one round of IVF treatment.
Given Mangayamma’s age, the doctors performed a C-section and will keep her under observation for the next 21 days.
“We are not allowing the mother to breastfeed and the babies will be fed through the milk bank,” Umashankar said.
Rao, 80, has already begun making plans for his daughter, said Umashankar. And for Mangayamma, it is a new lease of life at the age of 73,he said.
“She is very confident now. More confident than ever in her life and she is looking forward to the next chapter of her life with the kids,” Umashankar added.

IT Chapter Two Review (Spoilers)
Pennywise will probably go down as one of the most famous horror movie icons of all time. Following the release of the first IT back in 2017 we now have the second and final part; IT Chapter 2 which takes place 27 years after the Loser’s first encounter with Pennywise otherwise known as IT.
Let me first say that as far as casting goes, the adult actors were spot on in maintaining the characteristics from their younger counterparts. The stand outs to me were Bill Hader as Richie, James Ransone as Eddie and Isaiah Mustafah as Mike. All three did fantastic performances! I also can’t forget Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise who once again does an amazing job!
The movie over all has a good balance of horror, drama and comedy. Specifically like in the dinner scene when they’re all reminiscing about their childhood only for it to turn into a nightmare when their fortune cookies release horrifying monsters. Or when each of the losers encounters Pennywise while on their solo journey to remember all of their child hood. Everything from Richies slick comments to Eddie’s fears of getting sick.
The scares were definitely interesting also as they made sure to use more than just Pennywise for scares such as Mrs. Kersh for Beverage or the leper for Eddie. They cranked up the jump scares as well in several scenes but it never feels like a cheap scare tactic.
Just like with the book there are several key sad moments as well such as in the beginning with Stan ultimately commits suicide rather than to face IT again or with the death of Eddie when he dies in the final confrontation with IT. These two along with Stan’s final letter to his friends will definitely make you shed a tear.
All in all this feels like a solid conclusion to me. My only gripe is that there was no resolution with Bills wife and Beverly’s husband. But other than that I absolutely loved this movie; a solid 9 out of 10!
