Man threatens to shoot up Florida Walmart a day after deadly attacks at El Paso store
(WFTS/CNN/Meredith) — Authorities say a man is facing charges after he threatened to shoot up a Florida Walmart.
Officials evacuated the Walmart in Gibsonton Sunday, just a day after the mass shooting at an El Paso, Texas Walmart that left 22 dead and another 24 injured.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says an employee received a call from a man warning that he was going to open fire on the store in five minutes.
The sheriff’s office investigated and found the threat was not credible, but 31-year-old Wayne Padgett was arrested for the threat.
Padgett is now facing a charge of false report of using a firearm in a violent manner.
